Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MissMummy1 · 21/06/2012 21:38

LittleLolly Yes it's a pink lining one! I figured I'd happily spend that on a nice bag for me, and I'm going to be using this one for 2+ years so I might treat myself. I'm very pro upcycling though so might buy a cheap second hand one on eBay, or attempt to make a similar one... £75 does seem a little extravagant, but then again he got an absolute bargain on our pram and my lovely mother has given us most of our furniture now. Oh and PIL want to buy the car seat and base.

YW like you I defs didn't want to buy anything till much later as I'm such a worrier but after T bought the pram (and a 'Born to Play for Ulster' baby suit with McKibben and his old rugby number on the back) and my mum gave us the furniture I suppose I might as well just join them. When are you coming down? My mum officially hands over the house to the new people on 6th July but I live a 2min drive from your sister on the other side of the bay so must meet up or do dinner or something. How long are you down for? xxx

DesperateHousewife21 · 21/06/2012 21:41

GTbaby I registered online with boots parenting club ad they then sent me a welcome pack kind of thing. I think the voucher for the changing bag was in that.

I love buying changing bags and want a more girly one this time round.

MissMummy1 · 21/06/2012 21:41

stuntnun I solved the pyjama problem last week by adopting a few of his sets to be mine!

TheDetective · 21/06/2012 21:43

My changing bag comes free with the pram I want Grin. Can't wait, 4 more weeks and we will order it!

mrswee · 21/06/2012 22:09

mrsskinnylegs
Still feeling fragile but a lot better than the begining of the week, thank you. What about you? rest up! Keep drinking water too, it really helps and the last thing you need is to be dehydrated.

SwissArmyWife · 22/06/2012 06:58

Detective - ignore them. Ignore them all. If you want a home birth, bloody well have one.
In fact, there is nothing to say you can't have your baby wherever you like. Wether that's a phone box in the middle of london or in a hospital, so do what you feel is right for you!
My mum had all three of us at home, and with her last (my little sister) she didn't actually tell anyone until the day she went in to labour because she knew they wouldn't be able to do anything about it!
I would have had a home birth with DD but wanted a pool so I went to MW led birthing unit instead, it was lovely and i'm hoping to do the same again with this one :)
Just don't let it annoy you, it's your labour, your birth and your baby.

WRT changing bags, I just use cheap ones, but have only used two so far. I'd like to be able to spend a lot on one but I couldn't justify it!

As for pj's, get yourself to tesco ladies and grab a pair of the mens lounge pants in a size or two up. They are so comfortable! I have two pairs and love them. I just wear those with various vest tops with hidden support from primark :)

DesperateHousewife21 · 22/06/2012 07:21

Is anyone else affected by this Natwest issue? Dh's wages were supposed to go in yesterday and they still haven't, we've got -£3 in our account and not much food/ petrol etc.

horseylady · 22/06/2012 08:35

With natwest but no payment issues. Unless they've removed money from my account!!!

Finally eaten, felt like shit last night was amazed I made it into work this morning!! Might not stay very long. Will see.

Have decided to apply for the job, they don't come up at that grade ever so I think it's worth it. Dh has agreed as well. It's whether I go up for a look round or just turn up, pregnant, if interviewed?!

I need to add changing bags to the list.....

DesperateHousewife21 · 22/06/2012 09:00

You're lucky horsey!

applepieinthesky · 22/06/2012 09:01

DH We bank with Natwest at work and I haven't been able to reconcile our bank accounts today or yesterday. I hope it's sorted before our payday next week or all hell will break loose. Apparently yesterday if people could prove it is their regular payday and that their wages are being paid into a Natwest account some branches were giving customers cash. I don't know how true it is but might be worth a go if you are struggling?

misslaughalot · 22/06/2012 09:08

I'm with Natwest and haven't had any problem. Sorry to those who have, the bank better make sure nobody suffers as a result of their problem.

Thinking of you today StuntNun xx

WestWinger · 22/06/2012 09:08

DH21 as it is their fault and not yours, and presumably your DH gets paid a regular amount on a regular day, at the very least they should give you an interest free overdraft limit to see you through until they get their problems resolved. I would be making a heck of a fuss: toddler, pregnant with another - I need food, must have petrol - what if there was an emergency and I needed the car etc. Good luck - hope you get it sorted before the weekend.

DesperateHousewife21 · 22/06/2012 09:09

We're going in tomorrow morning if its not sorted by then. DH is the only one who can access our savings account which has all our hol spending money in which we need to change into euros for next Sat.

Luckily no DDs are coming out today and Ive got just enough food to last so it'll be tomorrow that will be testing if its not sorted, they'll also have me to deal with!

horseylady · 22/06/2012 09:11

I've also not expected to be paid!!! That's next week!! I think it's just payments going in? In which case apart from my wages, I'd not expect any issues.

DesperateHousewife21 · 22/06/2012 09:11

x-post thanks westwinger Ill def be kicking up a fuss if its not sorted by tomorrow.

We have so many DDs with them it'll be such a headache to change banks but Im really considering it. I think they're useless, Im only with them because DH was when we moved in together and he had the most DDs.

applepieinthesky · 22/06/2012 09:14

They are saying that the systems haven't updated overnight so if you had pennies in there yesterday and were relying on being paid today you will be stuck. If however you had enough funds in there yesterday you should be fine to use you card/make withdrawals etc. What this highlights is just how many people up and down the country are living from payday to payday struggling to make ends meet Sad

applepieinthesky · 22/06/2012 09:15

your card

misslaughalot · 22/06/2012 09:16

DH I've been thinking of switching too, and most banks offer a free switching service which means they take care of the Direct Debits for you too. There's a lot of offers out there for switching banks.

Martin Lewis is my hero...I never do anything money-wise without consulting him first! Try this

DesperateHousewife21 · 22/06/2012 09:22

apple yes Ive got -£3 so we're really stuck. Im so hoping they get it sorted today.
They didnt sound optimistic on the news though, they said people will be watching carefully over the next few days which sounds like it could be quite a drawn out thing!

We can buy food on the credit card so we wont starve, its the DDs im more concerned about.

applepieinthesky · 22/06/2012 09:28

They said yesterday afternoon that it would be sorted in the next few hours. Well that's come and gone and now they are just saying they 'continue to work hard to resolve it'. There have been problems with online banking on and off since tuesday so I'm not optimistic it will be fixed today. Hope I'm wrong though.

I don't know what is happening with regards to DDs and payments going out but they have said that no customers will be permanently out of pocket as a result. So if you get late payment charges etc they have to reimburse you. Too right.

LittleLolly · 22/06/2012 09:29

MissMummy those bags are gorgeous!! I got the one with blue butterflies and 'yummy mummy' on the front. I got it last week at a baby shop for £60 instead of £75. Yes it's expensive, but I absolutely love it and it is a gorgeous bag. I can't wait to use it!

Has anyone else been suffering with leg cramps? I've been getting horrendous ones in my calves when I stretch my legs out in bed. Not very pleasant!

applepieinthesky · 22/06/2012 09:35

What bags are you talking about? I love bags and have hundreds. Any excuse to buy a nice new one.

It is definitely baby I have been feeling for the last few days. I woke up last night and the little monkey must have been doing somersaults. I kept feeling all these little flutterings and pokes for ages Grin

DesperateHousewife21 · 22/06/2012 09:37

I hope its fixed today too.

I was looking at changing bags on ebay last night, I want one that is big enough for all my stuff but not too big that its pointless using after a year.

I like the more surf/ beach bag/ over the shoulder type ones a bit like this

misslaughalot · 22/06/2012 09:40

DH I forgot to ask, where are you going on holiday? Escaping the rain to somewhere sunny I hope?

I'm off to the Transmission festival at Jodrell Bank tomorrow. Elbow are headlining and I can't wait! I think they're going to be using the Lovell telescope as a projection screen, and the combination of beautiful music and all things space (science nerd!) is going to be fab. Just wish the forecast was for some sunshine, but hey, you can't control the weather (as much as I'd like to).

Actually, I'd better see if my waterproof jacket will zip up over my bump, hadn't thought of that...

DesperateHousewife21 · 22/06/2012 09:42

We're going to Spain (hopefully Hmm) we went there last year for our honeymoon. DH's stepsister owns a villa out there and we rent it from them, my parents are coming with us too. Ive been looking forward to it for so long and now this issue with the bank has put a downer on things.

Hope you have a good time at the festival, are you staying there overnight?
