Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Congratulations westwinger shanelle and ditzy

I'm going to add some variety - mine is a girl!
I'm gobsmacked - I was convinced it would be a boy! It's going to make naming a bit easier as we have not yet found a single boys' name that we agree on...

Welcome skinny - hope all is well and you manage to get some sleep tonight.

missmummy the trick with SILs and indeed anyone else with an opinion is not to mention names until the baby is actually here. Then they will all say how lovely it is even if they hate it and everybody's happy Grin

StuntNun · 20/06/2012 22:12

I'm watching Secret Eaters while scoffing half a giant bag of Doritos. Oh irony tastes delicious.

Congrats Kirrin! I haven't actually told any RL friends/family any of our ideas. DH on the other hand discusses EVERYTHING with his sister. She thinks because she has one child she is an expert on everything. (Is it too controversial to say the inlaws have practically raised her daughter?)

WestWinger · 21/06/2012 07:02

kirrin congrats on a pink bump! Yay!

mrsskinny how was your night and how are things this morning?

DesperateHousewife21 · 21/06/2012 07:42

Yay kirrin welcome to team pink!

Baby had a quiet day yesterday but I listened on the Doppler and could here it moving loads.
I can't remember when I started feeling ds, maybe it wasnt v early.

I've got a video of me pregnant around 25 weeks with ds of my alien tummy. You can see him moving around loads!

Dixiebell · 21/06/2012 08:17

Just on the sleeping on your right thing...I think mw told me last time that while it's good for baby position and not compressing things etc it's not worth stressing about, far more important to get a good night's sleep and keep energy up, so just to sleep however works best for you. Last time I had quite bad hip pain at night, after 20 mins on one side I'd have to shift to the other, and often only sleeping practically sitting up would work. Not had any yet this time, hope it stays away but think it started about 5 months before!

misslaughalot · 21/06/2012 08:37

Feeling a bit blue today as it is my due date for the baby I miscarried at the end of November. I am thrilled to be pregnant now (and to have made it to 18 weeks) but I'll never forget my first baby that I didn't get to meet.

xx

mrswee · 21/06/2012 08:44

Sorry to hear that misslaughalot, we go through so much to have our babies. Thinking of you today x

PetiteRaleuse · 21/06/2012 09:17

misslaughalot I had a similiar blue day during my first pregnancy. A wise woman said to me "a healthy baby is worth the wait", and once your current bump becomes a reality, although you won't forget your lost baby, you will definitely see what I mean by it having been worth the wait x

izzybizzybuzzybees · 21/06/2012 09:27

Hello. I was working on Monday night on call and slept all day tues and wed was working again. It's now my day off and I am feeling dreadful. I think the 16.5 hr night shifts are getting to me! Also hay fever is awful these past few days :(

So sorry to her littles awful news. Daisy is a beautiful name.

Welcome mrsskinny! I'm also due the 14th

Still not much movement, I had started to feel it last week but nothing for around a week?! I have my scan next tues and I am very scared due to all that happened near the start of this pregnancy. Hoping things are ok and I'm pretty sure we will stay team yellow.

As for BF I fed my dd by boob and I felt it helped us. We only managed 10weeks as I had a horrible time after her birth and was admitted to hospital with her when she was only a week old. We were in for 4 weeks and I managed to BF through that horrendous experience. When I recovered a bit I realised I wasn't happy being on the meds and feeding so we weaned onto formula. I expressed really early due to nursing staff. Ring concerned about feeding my Dd and all was fine, BUT it is not recommended to express til milk supply has settled around 6/8 weeks I think. I was literally expressing at 1week old! We were lucky she took to boob and bottle no probs, we used the tommee tippee closer to nature ones which I found good as similar to boob! Hoping to last longer this time and also not end up in hospital!

PetiteRaleuse · 21/06/2012 09:33

izzy I had my scan on Monday and was worried as I hadn't felt anything for a few days, and then not for a few days before that. And then as I walked to the clinic I was in actual pain and really worried.

The pain was baby turning, and the OB GYN couldn't believe I couldn't feel her kicking away as she most certainly was doing so. And no doubt was every day I didn't feel her in between flutterings.

At this stage they are so small and don't have a lot of strength so they have to be perfectly positioned to be felt regularly. So please try not to worry. At this stage it is normal to have nothing regular - and I believe we should only really regularly monitor things from about 28 weeks, as until then it's not supposed to be regular IYSWIM

StuntNun · 21/06/2012 09:56

MissLaughALot in a strange way your post has cheered me up because I have been feeling glum this week about my LO that would have been due tomorrow. I'm so happy to be pregnant again with this little baby boy that I can't wait to meet but I'll still shed a tear tomorrow for my angel baby that wasn't meant to be.

Today I am pregnant and I will enjoy it although a little less kicking in the bladder would be nice.

My friend had her baby today, everyone is saying congrats on fb before shes even announced it! That would really annoy me, its something the mum/dad should be able to announce.

However, today was her actual due date so it does happen! Shes got a little boy already and I think shes just had another boy (she didnt find out)
I only know because someone said 'cant wait to meet him' so again, kind of ruining the moment for her!

horseylady · 21/06/2012 10:38

Hugs to all of you with sad news :( hope you're days turn brighter.

I feel huge today!!!! My trousers are really tight!!! So pleased I bought some maternity stuff off eBay. Feel quite tight chested at feeling so huge! Dh my belly was going mad last night!! Funny to watch but it's growing so fast!!!

misslaughalot · 21/06/2012 10:40

DH I think it's really inconsiderate of people to do that. I found out my nephew's name on FB in a similar way, he was premature and his mum & dad hadn't settled on a name for him before the birth. He was about 3 weeks old when they finally chose a name. To find out things like that on FB from other people does ruin it for the parents I think going to have to plot to make sure we get to make our own announcements in the way that we want

misslaughalot · 21/06/2012 10:52

StuntNun it feels like we've come such a long way since the June thread, I had a peek on there last week and seeing people's birth announcements made me really happy.

DesperateHousewife21 · 21/06/2012 10:53

When I had ds, he was 9 days early so people weren't expecting it. I called my parents and texted the people who I wanted to know with FIRM instructions not to post anything on fb.

I made my own announcement on there and it was lovely. Hopefully Ill be able to do the same this time round.

NervousAt20 · 21/06/2012 11:18

Congratulations kirrin welcome to team pink :)

misslaughalot and stuntnun will be thinking of you both today and tomorrow x

ValiumQueen · 21/06/2012 11:19

My brother worked in the same clinic as me and took the video in the same day to show my colleagues. It was with DD1 who I had naturally. Thankfully there were no fanny shots, but I was covered in blood, tears and snot, and was not looking my best after 36 hours of labour and PPH. Bless him. He was a proud uncle, and did live with us at the time. Thankfully this was pre- facebook!

mrswee · 21/06/2012 11:48

When my DD was born my husband sent out the text to close friends, a lot of them happened to be at a big birthday party for a mutual friend so within a few mins practially everyone knew.. may as well have been facebook!

TheDetective · 21/06/2012 12:00

Anomaly scan complete! We are still expecting a little boy! And he is little, measuring smaller, but not too small (yes!!) He was being very naughty and his head was right in my pelvis (I could of told you that!). All looks fine, and got a fantastic picture! I have put it on our Facebook group! He has his fathers unusually long arms Grin

StuntNun · 21/06/2012 12:04

I haven't posted anything on FB so I'm planning to put on an announcement that "I've lost 6 lb 11 oz (or whatever weight he is) thanks to James" and see how long it takes people to catch on.

mrswee · 21/06/2012 12:11

WOW another boy! congrats detective
I am dying to know exactly how many boys to girls we have now... anyone counted? seems there are mostly boys!

MissMummy1 · 21/06/2012 12:11

My MIL posted on Facebook the day before our first scan. I wasn't annoyed because I dont think she realised all of our friends could see it too, but was a bit disappointed we hadn't made the announcement ourselves

DesperateHousewife21 · 21/06/2012 12:35

Congrats detective love the pic, v menacing!
