Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

ApplePie just to clarify they only need 10 nappies in the first week or so when they're feeding all the time. If you breastfeed then they usually poo within a few minutes of being fed because breastmilk is digested so quickly. If you formula feed then it takes a bit longer but they are fuller for longer so they don't need to be fed as often. The nappies aren't bad at all when they're getting milk, it's just when you start them on solids that the bad smells start!

Silas is a great name Valium unusual without being wacky - love it :)

Good luck to everyone with scans tomorrow - there's quite a few of you if memory serves?! not me though, mine's now on Wed, but I haven't updated the stats list

blonderthanred · 18/06/2012 20:56

That's so crap YW. How dare they not take you seriously.

I am sure it is none of the bad things but pregnancy itching and allergies still interferes with your life and needs to be taken seriously.

I always thought I would formula feed as my mum did with me and it didn't do me any harm. But I would consider breastfeeding even if only to start with and will definitely look into it more before I make a decision. Gosh there are so many things to think about when you have a baby. I never realised. We are also considering changing our car (though DP doesn't know it yet) because we only have a little Renault Megane and I'm worrying it will be a bit on the small side with a Labrador and a baby.

Hello all. Sorry, had a very sad weekend and haven't caught up with thread so no idea what is happening with everyone. Hope everyone has had and will have good news at their scans.

Unfortunately, my waters broke on Friday at 20+1 weeks. I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl yesterday evening, who unfortunately did not get to take her first breath - we named her Daisy.

I am ok as can be in the situation, and am very lucky to have such a supportive husband and friends and family.

I hope you all go on to have wonderful and successful pregnancies. I hope to be back on here soon with good news, fc, as we will be trying again! Hopefully third time lucky. Thank you for all your support and advice over the last few months.

Take care and rather than say goodbye, I shall say speak to you later and good luck.

We were set on reusables until my DH's pain in the arse know-it-all-sister darling SIL pointed out we have next to no drying space and they're a nightmare to launder. (She also told us she hated all of our potential name choices because they were, and I quote, "too Scottish" - hello where does she think we live?! DH may be norn irish but I'm a Scot!!!)

I've had a look at the kiddicare nappies as well detective. Are they the ones you can trade unopened ones for a bigger size? £20 for a month's supply sounds ideal if they're as good as the reviews would have us belief. Anyone else got any experience of this???

YW your locum sounds as useless as my midwife!! Has it cleared up at all? Saw a few people had suggested they might be bites, was wondering that myself. A possibility maybe? Hope it clears up soon. xx Also re breastfeeding article, did your lovely sister post it on fb recently? I'm sure I read it somewhere the other night! I'd heard of these risks of toxins passing onto baby from us during a case study in 2nd year uni. Perhaps naively, I plan to BF for 6 months then switch to bottle/solids. In theory...

Fatima I too haven't felt any definite movements yet :( Keep trying to convince myself every flutter is something but no real kicks. I also have an anterior uterus - ie tilts back into my spine - so maybe that has something to do with it?

Mrswee glad everything seems to be okay. Must have been bliddy terrifying! Rest up and hope you feel better soon!
