Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Thechick · 17/06/2012 12:26

Looks like there's a couple newlyish-weds on here. We celebrate one year in Aug. can't believe how fast the time has gone.

A few people have been posting about deflated bumps, I was going to post about the same thing. The past two days it's seemed smaller, but it is very reassuring that im not the only one.

TheDetective · 17/06/2012 12:37

Shelly Thought it was just me who did that!! All other people I know seem to have 'too much stuff to do' to even sit down in the day! Sometimes I'm just so exhausted though, stress from work and shift work just means I'm constantly tired. I used to love coming home from the school run, and going to McDonalds for breakfast, and tucking myself back in bed with the food, and a hot chocolate, and drifting off to sleep! Now I can't stand McDonalds, and I can't get back to sleep so early in the day. Siiiiiiiiiiigh.

And when the baby comes, there will be no chance of resurrecting this habit! ARGHHHHH!

I just ate a full tube of pringles. When I say just. It was at 10am. Not even an hour after breakfast. That's baaaaaad! Bad baby ;)

I want another tube now. Blush

ShellyBobbs · 17/06/2012 12:54

I bought some squirty cream and the 'posh' flavoured hot chocolate ready for tomorrow, I've even got my favourite pj's washed and smelling lovely, bought a hot water bottle for the groin strain and have left the last couple of chapters of my current book unread on the kindle, just incase my eyes need a bit of a push to old sleepy land. I just feel like I need a good old rest, as well as working my job, I'm running a business with my friend and looking after these 3 little tinkers, tomorrow I'm sleeping Grin

I'm still eating fried egg butties that are a bit runny, I know I shouldn't but I just can't help myself.....

Happy anniversary DH

We celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary in July, where does the time go! We went to the travel agents yesterday to look at city breaks an left an hour later, having booked 3 nights to Paris Grin we will be there for our wedding anniversary.

I have my scan tomorrow at 15.30, no plans to find out the sex, although I may crumble Blush

Yellow I'm glad your cat is back safe and sound

Re pillows I bought the dream genii last weekend, as my back and bump were starting to ache. It has helped immensely, so far, I have been much more comfortable and slept better.

YellowWellies · 17/06/2012 13:31

I was going to buy the dream genii but was struggling to justify the price when we've so much else to buy and a house move to fund, but huzaaahhhh for Lidl they are selling full body pillows for £9.99 (washable cover, very comfy) and yes that's under £10. Brilliant, am well chuffed and slept so well last night what with that and a knackered puss cat asleep and purring at the foot of the bed. Lidl only tend to have these offers on for a week so if you want one - hurry.

FatimaLovesBread · 17/06/2012 13:32

There's a thread in pregnancy about starting mat leave. What's everyone here thinking of doing?

blonderthanred · 17/06/2012 13:52

DH, DBro and DBro's friend (who all live here) have gone to the cricket and I have the house to myself for the first time in MONTHS. Bliss. Just lying here still in my PJs (no shame) watching my bump move. Amazing.

Thanks for the advice on sleep pillows. Re. mat leave, I'm thinking mid-Oct, three weeks before EDD.

MissMummy1 · 17/06/2012 14:17

Gah my body clock's wrecked. Didn't sleep at all last night, must have dosed off about 7ish when DH left for work (I vaguely remember telling him to just take the car instead of me driving him...) and have just woken up. Still knackered. Productive day so far? Not. As we're both self employed I plan to work as long as possible and then hopefully as my work dies down over Christmas take a few months off before working around dh's week on/week off. In theory...

Passmethecrisps · 17/06/2012 14:49

YW you are a genius. I just told DH about the Lidl pillows and he wants to go and get one this afternoon. Certainly worth trying.

Just about to tuck in to Sunday roast. Back on the Becks Blue which is nice - haven't been able to drink it since 8 weeks

DesperateHousewife21 · 17/06/2012 17:29

Maybe the shrinking bumps are more to do with the fact we're all (mostly) pass the sickness stage and as the bumps are growing and the food is on a more even level?! Maybe I'm talking rubbish ha!

Had a v busy day seeing 3 sets of parents, chilling on the sofa now. I can't get in the kitchen because dh has just cleaned the floor so that's one way of not eating too much!

ShellyBobbs · 17/06/2012 18:14

Well went to IKEA, but have to say when I looked at the cots I was like 'this is boring, that one will do', then shuffled round the rest of the place. I was just too tired and I'd rather just go on my own. Once I've had my 20 week scan I think my head will be round buying things and I'll just go and blitz the shops on the next pay day.

Hubby's just said he'll 'give me a good rafting' to help me sleep, I told him I think I'm the only one that is sleeping at night lately (and I don't feel like a good rafting :()

WestWinger · 17/06/2012 18:42

shelly your DH knows how to romance a lady, doesn't he?!?! :)

I'm not buying anything until after my scan (Weds) and even then am hoping to hold off for the sales.

DH21 your hubby does housework?? Please, please tell me your secret! As I'm a SAHM, everything in the house (except the bins) is classed as 'my' job. I'm a lucky girl, eh?

DesperateHousewife21 · 17/06/2012 19:29

westwinger I'm a sahm mum too but I've managed to delegate the bins, kitchen floor and both bathrooms to dh!
Although I have had to keep reminding him for the past month few weeks to do the kitchen floor.

YellowWellies · 17/06/2012 20:59

Right Mums and Mums to be - have just (literally in the last hour) developed some large red weals on my bump and sides - they are itchy. Do I need a docs appointment - have done the worst thing possible and asked Mr Google and am trying not to think of the conditions with such a rash that lead to maternal and fetal death or the ones that will make me itch for the next five months. Did anyone else get a rash on their bump? There are no obvious things like changes to washing powder or food allergies..... Arse I knew this second trimester was going too well!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 17/06/2012 21:03

Sounds very strange, could you not phone the 24 hour NHS thingy line? Could it be stretchy skin itching as you bump gets bigger? Aa

DesperateHousewife21 · 17/06/2012 21:14

Call nhs direct or the hospital. I'd def get them checked out, they might be nothing but as everyone says its better to be safe than sorry.
Let us know how you get on.

WestWinger · 17/06/2012 21:18

YW that does sound odd. The suddenness with which they've appeared would make me think an allergy of some kind - I am no medical expert BTW. Do they hurt, or just itchy? Both sides? I'd guess it is nothing too serious but suggest you get checked out anyway, if only to try to relieve your discomfort.

I'll have a flick through my pregnancy books to see if they mention anything similar.

StuntNun · 17/06/2012 21:26

YW have you got any hydrocortisone cream to help sooth the wheals?

OP posts:
WestWinger · 18/06/2012 06:47

YW how are they this morning?

Passmethecrisps · 18/06/2012 07:17

YW I would be pretty certain that you have been bitten by mites when you were out hunting for the kitty. However, if you can access a GP I would see one today.

Lilliana · 18/06/2012 07:22

YW how is the bump this morning?

Been reading through but already forgotten most of what I have read - really need to work on my memory.

Spent most of yesterday in my PJ's, twas lovely!

Had lots of cramps at the bottom of the bump yesterday and this morning. Assuming it is everything stretching but hope it eases off soon.

To thoes that are looking at/have bought the vista can I ask where you got it and how much you have found it for? We're trawling the internet as not many baby shops around here and think £610 is the best price we've found so far (inc car seat), anyone know if we can beat that?

SwissArmyWife · 18/06/2012 08:06

YW Sounds like bites of some kind, or possibly heat rash.
I hope all is ok!

Lilliana Found this: Ebay page

It's £350 buy it now and you could get the car seat seperately, still saving money! Looks like a good deal to me, if that's the one you're looking for. Plus you could always arrange a courier for it.

DD and I just had pancakes for brekkie as there is no bread for toast. Definitely a blessing in disguise Grin

Anybody else feeling really drained lately? I feel so heavy and lazy most of the day, unless I have an afternoon nap. I'd quite like to be able to zoom around getting all the housework done like I used to instead of it looking like a tip because I feel like i'm stuck to the sofa!
I feel bad because DP does everything when he isn't at work Blush
Well, apart from cook.. I don't let him near the cooker Grin

Iheartpasties · 18/06/2012 09:34

Hi Ladies,

YW how are the bites/bumps?

Well I'm to see the midwife for the 2nd time on weds. I should think it will be a quick in and then out type of appointment.

horseylady · 18/06/2012 09:42

Morning!! Yw I've got red lines on my sides. Assuming the start of stretch marks? Or where my clothes are rubbing as my skin.

Had a brilliant day in London Saturday, managed to finally compete on Sunday and had a really good day out too!!! Won my classes which was just great!! Took the dads out for fathers day, dh loved his card, so all was good!!

Now in work ;/ and it's going to get busy!

mrswee · 18/06/2012 09:59

YW I had a similar thing at the begining and stupidly googled, turned out to be non of those things and I am not sure what it was, doctor accussed my cats of having fleas and gave me some lyclear which I didn't use after another google session put me off. I used this spray by nelsons on each bite/bump to stop it itching and they went away within a week. Also bought cats new collars and got DH to do a flea treatment but they weren't itching and saw no other eveidence.
glad the moggy returned, he won't be doing that again in a hurry
