Hiya,
Thought I would start a thread as I couldn't seem to find one
I had a BFP yesterday - which by my estimations makes lo#2 due early November! I already have a ds who is 15 months (14/11/04) and my BFP with him was 2 days earlier than this one, how strange is that?
Anyway, looking forward to getting to know anyone that joins this thread and wishing everybody a happy healthy pg

hi girls... i feel totally unmotivated! dh is looking after dd at the mo. I'm gonna try accupressure bands to see if they help with the sickness, frankly i'll give anything a go. I want my life back!

Hattie05 · 22/03/2006 11:45

I've just been to docs and forget to ask for a prescription for folic acid! is it true we can get it on prescription?

Btw doc told me to send urine sample in tomorrow to confirm pg and then i can see midwife! I mentioned homebirth and he wrinkled his nose and said my wishes would be respected but he would advise hospital birth Grin. Good ol' docs hey?

cece · 22/03/2006 11:49

IME it is not worth talking about home births or water births with GPs. Best wiat to discuss it with midwife at your booking visit!

Missmibaby · 22/03/2006 12:16

Hi I'm from the Due Oct thread, but my dates haven't been confirmed yet- I might be bumped into Nov so I've been following your thread with interest.
I can symapthise with lack of motivation My ds is in nursery today and I have taken a day off work - I feel like I could sleep for England. Don't feel depressed, but a little lonely as DH is in Miami (work related lucky bugger). I have scan on Friday so hopefully that will lift my spirits.

So sorry for your news Trophywife - I can only repeat what the others have said and hope your getting lots of support.

Agree with Cece about where to have the baby. Also IMO they start to take you a bit more seriously the closer it gets.

Cece how are you today?

cece · 22/03/2006 12:20

Hi there

Missmibaby - I am OK today. Had a wrestling match with ds after doing the school run. Made me paranoid all morning that I am getting 'pains' but think I am imagining it! Just a tiny bit of discoloured discharge today (sorry tmi!)

Doc told me to rest so am trying to ignore the crumbs all over the carpet, the dust build up and the empty fridge... May do an internet shop this afternoon when ds having his nap Grin

cece · 22/03/2006 12:21

whoops meant to say that the wrestling was to get him into his car seat! Not just for the fun of it!

MeAndMyBoy · 22/03/2006 13:39

I know what you mean Cece with wrestling with LO's yesterday DS very nearly ended up going to nursery in his Pj's as he refused point blank to change - would have been very embarrasing as he wears fleecy suits over his pj's and yesterdays was a pink hand me down Blush.

I think he realised I was feeling crap and exploited it fully!!

staceym11 · 22/03/2006 14:34

i can understand the wresteling, dd has only just started walking and i cant lift her lots anymore as it hurts my tummy so have explained that mummy cant pick her up because of the baby in my belly and shes ok with it most of the time, unless shes tired, as all this walking is so new anyway!!!

for sickness girlies, i would really recomend the travel sickness bands if you can stand them, they arent that comfy but they seem to be working, was sick this morning as i didnt put them back on in the middle of the night for this morning, but today been fine with them on all day, only feel slightly sick if im hungry!! which is a vast improvment on when i was pg with dd!!

really hope everyone is ok, i got to go to the hospital today about a lump in my breast, its nothing to worry about, think its to do with my hormones in pregnancy as it appeared in first 4 weeks of being pg with dd, and has got bigger in the first 6 weeks of this pg. gotta go for checkup and gotta take dd with me oh joy!!!

anyway need a lay down, and can of coke, body craving sugar!!!!

cece · 22/03/2006 14:45

feel better after a rest and have ordered food for delivery tomorrow. Smile Just got to find a freezer meal tonight!

MeAndMyBoy · 22/03/2006 15:01

See you're doing it again Grin you and food!! Wink

mygirllolipop · 22/03/2006 15:46

Hattie- I think I got folic acid prescribed but it's inexpensive really. Nobody really likes to agree to a homebirth I've found. Because we moved when I was heavily pg and we didn't know anyone to look after DD's I asked for a homebirth and they blatantly said they wouldn't. When I explained, the consultant reluctantly said OK for those reasons. They just wanna make life easier for themselves!

HopingCat · 22/03/2006 16:20

Hi. I've not managed to post much for ages but have been reading the thread.

Hope people feel better soon. I feel loads better this week than last week, in fact it is starting to worry me a bit, but I am a worrier in general. Last week I felt sick and went off lots of different foods, and this week I'm eating them all again and not feeling sick. I know sickness is meant to go after a while, but I'm only 7 weeks pg. Very strange. I suppose I shouldn't complain, but somehow the symptoms help me to think that everything is as it should be, so losing them makes me a bit uneasy. Anyone else experienced this?

spinach · 22/03/2006 17:21

try not to worry hc... you'll go through a whole range of cravings/aversions that will change all the time, its still early days for sickness to start really. it normally starts at around 6-7 weeks.

Doc gave me some antisickness pills today so i'll take them for a few days and see if it makes any difference. have just managed to eat a donut though so not all bad!

cece · 22/03/2006 17:55

When I went for booking visit for my second the midwife was one who saw me through the majoprity of my labour (not the dlevery though).

She was psoitvely pushing for me to have a homebirth - which I didn't want! In the end I had PROM so wouldn't have been allowed anyway!!!

staceym11 · 22/03/2006 18:01

i think id like a home birth with this one, can you still have pethadin (sp?) and gas and air at home? went into hospital with dd because i thought i had to. poor naive little girl i was! lol

fatbetty · 22/03/2006 18:21

Glad you got some antisickness meds spinach! Hope they work for you.

I'm still feeling miserable - not sick - but just VERY down and depressed. Even managing to get myself up and doing anything takes loads of effort. I don't know if this is just because I'm tired or what. Also feel like I can't really talk to anybody at the moment as we haven't told anybody about the pg. I'm sure I would hear "it's just your hormones" loads of times if they did know. sigh.

2boys2cats · 22/03/2006 19:09

Hello,
Wanted to join the club! I got my BFP around 10 days ago and due around 19th Nov ish, I think. 3rd time lucky for me - have 2 boys already - ds1 3 on Sat and ds2 20 months. It's going to be chaos in my house!!
Congrats to everybody here - here's hoping for healthy and happy pgs. xx

fatbetty · 22/03/2006 19:18

Congrats 2b2c, I'm very similar to you with two boys , ds1 was 3 in Feb and ds2 is 19 months!!

2boys2cats · 22/03/2006 19:29

Ahh - so are yours at the rolling around on the floor, sitting on each other, chasing each other around the room stage too?! Its very noisy here at the moment! Am secretly hoping for a girl, but probably only make boys! I have two friends who both had a girl after 2 boys so I just know I'm going to be the exception to the rule ...
Not that another boy wouldn't be fab though of course ...!

fatbetty · 22/03/2006 19:33

Sounds just like my house!!! But they are great friends and do play nicely together (sometimes that is). We are also hoping for a girl, but definately wouldn't be dissapointed if we had another boy. Everything we have is already blue and has cars on it!

spinach · 22/03/2006 19:36

poor you fatbetty, you're not alone, i feel miserable too! sick, tired, bored! this is not a nice stage of pregnancy for me, and much worse than last time. I have told a few people and all anyone says is, well you're bound to feel tired, or, you'll glow soon, its your hormones, you'll stop feeling sick at 12 weeks. Its you're own fault, you did it (conception presumably) on purpose.

In return i want to scream 'i never bloody glow, i'm sick of feeling tired, this isnt hormones, i'm fed up, and my sickness lasted till around 20 weeks last time, and yes i did want to be pregnant so i should be over the moon... i will be when baby arrives happy and healthy'.

but instead i smile, and say 'yeah, you're right'.

So i know how you feel. chin up, have a moan on here!

mower · 22/03/2006 19:37

Hi everyone, good to here there are more bfp's!!

Cece so glad to here that things are looking better for you, I hope things continue to improve. I think homebirth would be amazing and be great to aid recovery and good for bonding with whole family. I won't be able to have one, had c-section last time.

Spinach, I hope you feel better soon, hopefully this will pass for you soon and you will blossom in the second trimester.

After alot of contemplation I have decided to start slowly weaning ds from the breast :(. Am going back to work in a few weeks working evenings so at least want ds to have formula evenings. Was going to express enough milk for him during the day but this is just one more thing to think about whilst pregnant. Also really don't want to tandem feed so at least ds will be used to not bf before new baby arrives.

2boys2cats · 22/03/2006 19:46

Yes, mine play nicely too most of the time. Have put them both to bed tonight an hour early with raging temperatures though - urgh. Probably not going to be a good night's sleep. Luckily I'm not feeling tired yet as I'm all of ... ooh ... 5 1/2 weeks pregnant! Give me a few weeks and I'll be comatose and dribbling on the sofa. I feel for all those feeling crappy though - these first months really do suck don't they?!

fatbetty · 22/03/2006 19:56

Spinach, Thanks for the words of encouragement. I'm partly feeling down from telling my friend that i'm pg after she had a miscarriage the previous week. I keep dwelling on it and it's almost like one of those out-of-body experiences where I just think what was I doing!! I saw her today and I kept reading all these things into it. We were with lots of other people so didn't get to talk to her properly. Feel like a muppet (as dh would say).

mower, how old is your ds? I can imagine that breast feeding while pg completely wipes you out. Good for you though!

2b2c, my boys have had streaming runny noses for days. I think I'm keeping the tissue companies in business at the moment!

mower · 22/03/2006 20:12

That is sad about your friend fatbetty, but don't let it stop you feeling over the moon about your pregnancy. Are you very close with your friend? Do you think she will try again?

Ds is 6 months, wanted to bf him for a year, but not really practicle anymore for me. He takes formula fine and goes to sleep without the boob so its more the psycological aspect of it for me that is a little upsetting.
