Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
SeymoreButts · 14/06/2012 05:55

clarella no I've only had one test so far, I'll mention a follow up test at my next appointment.

kali welcome back, glad things are improving now. I was a 32D and went up several cup sizes pretty quickly. I'm still cramming myself into my old bras at the mo. I'm not looking forward to my milk coming in, because they really do look ridiculously dolly partonesque when that happens (I'm 5'2" and a size 6!) I spend the breast feeding months with a hunched back!

bubbless I went to the fetal medicine centre in London for a private scan, they were really good.

cherrypie I'm sorry to hear your very sad news. I'll be thinking of you. X

I'm 15 weeks today. It seems to be going really quickly now I feel more human.

SpottyTeacakes · 14/06/2012 06:36

Sorry for your loss cherrypie hope everyone is getting the support they need.

Happy birthday COD have a lovely day Smile

Glad to hear people are starting to feel better, light at the end of the tunnel Smile

CODwidow · 14/06/2012 07:03

Thank you for the birthday wishes Smile got given THE most gorgeous changing bag this morning an il tutto ava. It's so lovely can't wait to use it GrinGrinGrin

Queenofsiburbia · 14/06/2012 07:35

Good gracious, 954 posts! I cannot keep up!

'Happy birthday to you' and hope birthday girls getting loads of cake, a sip of champagne and a foot massage! (as well as piles of pressies obv.

cod I'm also desperately thirsty all the time. My (unbelievably grumpy and rude midwife WTF???!) said 50% of entire pregnancy weight gain is water. I said jovially 'ah that's why I'm always thirsty' & she just said 'No.'
Durrr it obviously is!! She was such a crazy cross patch. She went ballistic when I asked a Q about epidurals (tbh was just trying to think of something to ask!).

kali sounds like you've had an absolute shocker and I really hope you get to a point of non-throwing-up really soon. Pleased you treated yourself you totally deserve it.

kate exactly same for me with disobliging baby at the scan. As ultrasounder didn't seem too worried I'm not either. Blood test next week.

clarella Grin at husband feeling faint on his night out!! Hope you are being very sympathetic to his plight...

Queenofsiburbia · 14/06/2012 07:45

cherrypie I just read your post and your terribly sad news. All my best wishes and sympathy to you and your family, it must have been so hard for you all.

Cookiesandcream06 · 14/06/2012 08:06

Happy Birthday cod Grin hope you have a lovely day and yes get very spoilt

Cherry what awful awful news, my thoughts go to you and your family. I hope everyone is getting the support they need

queen I am thirsty all the time, I thought it would help with the fluid retention but I still seem to swell up ridiculously, I even get swelling already at 14 weeks! I think I need to lose weight SadBlush

I think I am starting to see an improvement, I think it was around 14 weeks last time I felt better.. Although maybe just because DD has allowed a couple of good nights sleep in a row...

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 14/06/2012 09:34

morning everyone

cherry so sorry to hear your news, i hope you all have the support you need

well today i woke up with a binding headache but i think it was because i went to zumba last night and didn't drink an awful lot of water before bed, i shall not be making that mistake again. thankfully today is day 2 of not feeling sick, heres hoping it's all stopped now.

bubbless people's attitudes are shocking, i married my DC's dad when i was pregnant with DS (DC #2, wedding was planned before DS appeared) and the amoutn of dissapproving looks and 'she's only getting married coz she's pregnant' comments were ridiculous, i wanted to scream at them that it was our 2nd baby, but i was too shy to confront them.(we did divorce after 2 years but that was none of their buisness ;) and nothing to do with my age , more to do with him cheating on me with one of my mates!)

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 14/06/2012 09:35

oh and happy birthday COD and others :) xxx

knottyhair · 14/06/2012 09:38

Cherrypie, I'm so sorry about your SIL. Lots of love to you & your family.
Those of you getting funny looks & comments due to being younger, don't worry about it! Some people will judge for all sorts of reasons. I'm at the other end of the scale at 44, so similar but different! Feel less nauseous so far today but don't want to speak too soon - just really hope my scan date arrives in the post today - the hospital told me on Monday they were booking it in that day so fingers crossed... Happy Birthday to all the lovely ladies celebrating Smile!

kateand2boys · 14/06/2012 10:24

Cherrypie So sorry to hear your sad news.

COD Happy birthday!! Can you post a link to the lovely bag? I'd love to see it.

Kalidasa Glad that you are starting to feel better. You put all of my moaning into perspective Smile

Thanks for the tips about clothes. My friend has a coat she can lend me for the cold months, so I don't have to worry about that. Sounds like roomy boots are the way to go and I already have them, I wore sandals with the other 2, don't think that will work in December.

Did anyone else have pain after their scan? I feel as if I've been attacked with a rolling pin Sad My tunny feels really tender and it hurts to walk too far. Should I be worried or was the sonographer a bit over enthusiastic? I've booked in to see the GP just in case. Any thoughts?

WeeJo08 · 14/06/2012 11:44

Cherrypie Hope you and your family are okay. Such sad news for you all.

Happy Birthday to all the birthday girls - hope you're being spoiled rotten and enjoyed/are enjoying your day. My birthday is in September (my 30th) so I hope to fly home for it...though I will be 29 weeks at that stage so hopefully the doctor will be obliging!

Kalidasa Glad you're feeling better - it sounds like you've had an absolute nightmare so far....hopefully the end of your sickness is in sight though. Have you had your scan? (Sorry if you said that already!)

brooke89 · 14/06/2012 11:58

Happy Birthday COD Wine Thanks

blackcurrants · 14/06/2012 12:28

Hello everyone! I've been away too long to respond to all your exciting news - but I'm very sorry, cherry, for your family's sudden loss - and I hope you are all coping okay.

I am knackered after waking at 5am for a pee then not being able to get back to sleep. Bah. When DS woke at 6am I just got up with him and let DH have a bit more sleep - but I'm soo tired now!

Still, scan today! [happy skips] 12 week scan today! And DH can come, which is lovely as last time he couldn't get the time off work.

Anyone else getting a scan today? Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 14/06/2012 12:52

Exciting blackcurrants! Look forward to you uploading a pic!

I'm really thirsty too and nothing seems to quench it, it's also making me want loads of fruit and cherry tomatoes which I suppose is good!

knottyhair · 14/06/2012 13:12

Good luck blackcurrants! I was also up at 5 for a pee and couldn't get back to sleep, so I feel your pain.

Finally got my date through today for 12 week scan - next Weds afternoon, I'll be 13+2. Also have a consultant appt for 2nd July.

knottyhair · 14/06/2012 13:14

And I'm with you on the fruit Spotty, I've had a banana, 2 apricots, a nectarine and some cherries so far today plus chocolate brownie & cream.

SpottyTeacakes · 14/06/2012 13:21

Why do you have to see a consultant, if you don't mind me asking?

I was too scared to look at the time when I woke but I haven't slept in past about five for the past week a mixture of needing to wee and the bloody birds! Don't know why I can't get back to sleep though, very annoying.

knottyhair · 14/06/2012 13:24

No, I don't mind! Underactive thyroid, plus my age possibly (44).
I'm the same with sleeping, during half term I must admit I was going back to bed once DS was up and on the x-box, but more difficult during term-time. Although I did manage a power nap for about half an hour earlier, then the workmen started up again (having the outside of our house pebbledashed - ugh, why does that always make me think of vom?)

kalidasa · 14/06/2012 13:26

WeeJo yes I had my scan a while ago actually because I'm 15 weeks today (due 6th December); I had it at 11w4d and the baby was miraculously big, a good bit bigger than dates. Very surprising given that I ate nothing at all for three weeks, and little the rest of the time and lost a stone in a fortnight!! Obviously it's true what they say about the baby getting everything it needs directly from you in the first trimester. Anyway baby was fine and apparently a boy though I was v. surprised to be told so early on. She seemed quite sure though! I also heard the heartbeat at the midwife's for the first time last week which was nice - very loud and very fast!

Having another good day today so venturing three doors down to a beauty salon to have a pedicure! Hope we don't have to interrupt for me to throw up . . .

Only really good thing about having been ill for so long is that I have loads of money. Considering buying a new iPod as I bought mine in about 2007 and it's full up. Any other suggestions for what to buy very welcome!

Hope everyone is doing OK.

kalidasa · 14/06/2012 13:29

I'm under a consultant too, I think just because I was in hospital so much at the beginning so they want to keep an eye on me. Seeing her as an outpatient for the first time next week.

SpottyTeacakes · 14/06/2012 13:31

I love my consultant Blush like actually love her....

WeeJo08 · 14/06/2012 13:35

kalidasa I'm 15 weeks on Monday - I like the sound of 15, feels properly "in the teens"! My due date is the 10th. I think this is your first as well?

Enjoy your pedicure, that sounds like a fab idea. My DH got us a massage and spa package thingy that he had planned for us to use on our wedding anniversary last month but when we phoned up about it they said that they would recommend I waited until the second trimester - I was a little disappointed at first but then I thought about it and I was glad that they were the sort of place that wouldn't just take your money and not care about the (albeit probably small) risk. PLUS now I have it to look forward to in the next little while Grin

As for ideas of what to buy - how about a Kindle or some boxsets of your favourite shows?

Dillydollydaydream · 14/06/2012 13:42

Hi. Hope you are all well. Unfortunately I had a mc So will be leaving the due in December board.
Good luck with all your pregnancies x

SpottyTeacakes · 14/06/2012 13:51

So sorry for your loss dilly I hope you are taking care of yourself, good luck for the future

knottyhair · 14/06/2012 13:58

Dilly, I'm so sorry. Lots of love to you & your family xx
