StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 13/06/2012 14:14

right i have been away a while as dont turn the pc on when im not working and haven't worked for a couple of weeks due to half term/holidays etc.

sooooo jealous of scans, mines next weds when i will be 14weeks

generally i am feeling better this week, still some sickness, still nauseous most the time but bareable, i'm not throwing up every meal so i'm happy!

thankfully i haven't had problems announcing this pregnancy to people as i'm huge lol (although do wear quite tight clothes) and have been in a lot of maternity stuff for about 4/5 weekslol,, thanksfully i've brought stuff i really like this time round

as for ages and judging, i was 17 when i had DD and 19 when i had DS, a few judgy people but on the whole everyone was polite to me, and if i do say so myself i've done a spiffing job so far! lol people love to judge, if it wasn't your age it would be something else, chin up, people that mind don't matter and people that matter don't mind! This time around i am a much more normal 25 lol, am looking forward to not being the youngest of the school mums (as currently get ribbed a bit, but all in jest) though!

as for rooms, we have 3 bedrooms and an office, DD and DS have their own rooms atm, but my office will move to the living room, my DS will mvoe to the office (downstairs) and baby will go in DS's box room (the office is bigger thanhis current room) although baby will share with us for at least 6-9 months i need somewhere to store all of its stuff Blush

welcome all newbies and congrats!

if there is anything i have forgotten please forgive me as i had 2+ weeks to catch up on and you lot could talk for england Grin

soandsosmum · 13/06/2012 14:30

hi.

can I be added to the list next time it's updated?
soandsosmum due 1st Dec with DC#2

I went for my 16 week appointment today with MW. All fun, heard babies heartbeat which was nice.

Then went looking at some nurseries for DD1, none of which were any good :(

Those of you with dcs in nursery, how did you choose somewhere? I feel like maybe nowhere will be 'good enough' for my pfb!

WeeJo08 · 13/06/2012 14:40

Hi soanssosmum

Welcome! How exciting having your 16 week appointment! Mine is two weeks from today (27th) - I'll be 16+2 then. So excited about the heartbeat! What else did the midwife do?

This is my first so no advice on nurseries....but I can imagine I would feel similar to you!

As for adding yourself to the list, just scroll back a few pages and find the most recent list then copy and paste it into a new message, pop your details into it (yours will be easy - it's nearly at the start (think Clarella's just a few days before that) then post it as a new message...hope that makes sense?! 20wk scan will be 30/7 which is a little later than I'd hoped, as requested it before the summer hols but never mind. I'll just need to find childcare for 4 on that afternoon.
Sorry to all those feeling awful im 14 weeks today and still heaving when I get up and tired at about 2pm but apart from that things are easing. Although I usually eat about 12noon and it got to 12:30 today and I almost passed out so won't be doing that again!

I'm still really thirsty, is anyone else??
My sis bought me some lovely maternity tops today for my birthday so nice to actually like your maternity clothes. When I had ds 10 years ago there wasn't much about and what was so expensive.

Clarella · 13/06/2012 15:29

Welcome soandso!

That's a bit odd seymore, they test at first exposure to check for exposure and immunity then, if not immune, they have to test again after 4 weeks to allow the incubation time inside you, 21 days and then a few days to get going - it was exactly 32 days for the rash to pop up in the cases at school - had they already done that? It's supposed to give arthritic like pain in adults, swollen joints etc if anything at all so you're probably fine and its just a bug. Maybe get the doc to double check that test though.

I think my 'sickness' is finally going as I'm liking 70% dark chocolate again - so yes sadly that's over 16 wks. I gained lots of weight at first - 6 lb - but not gained anything for 4 weeks, even loosing a bit. Might be changing metabolisms (possibly lack of wine?!)

A few people mentioned bras a while ago - I am loving (living in) an m and s wireless sports bra they do in grey, white, blue and pink. Trying to decide if need to get the med to see my through or stick to small which will be great for 'after'!

kateand2boys · 13/06/2012 16:51

I had my scan today, but the baby wouldn't co-operate and they couldn't so the nuchal measurement. The sonographer tried really hard, but no joy. I'm too far along for a rescan, so I'll to have to rely on the blood test. She didn't seem too concerned, she didn't think there was an excess of fluid, but I'd rather have known. Anyway, some things aren't meant to be. Considering the state I'd got into about it, I thought I'd take it worse than this, but at least my baby looks ok Smile Next scan on August 3rd.

It was my birthday yesterday, so now I con look for maternity clothes with my birthday money. If only I could find something I like Confused I'm sure there must be something out there for me. I also don't know what to get. My boys were born in July, so I bought summer clothes. Whereas this time, it's going to be warm for the next few months (maybe...), but freezing when the baby comes. I don't know what to get, any suggestion from previous winter mums would be appreciated.

Welcome to the newbies Smile

Hope everyone who's feeling rough is feeling a bit better now Smile I'm feeling quite a bit better today. DH and I had lunch out before the scan and I actually finished my meal!

Happy birthday for tomorrow CODwidow and isn't it someone else's birthday soon?

sosandsosmummy wait 'til you try and find a primary school. It took me so long to choose I nearly missed the date and I cried as I handed over the form, I couldn't bear the thought of my 'baby' (aged 4 Blush) going to school.

SpottyTeacakes · 13/06/2012 16:57

Glad the scan went ok kate even though they couldn't get the measurement. It's my birthday Friday and dd's Sunday Smile

Dd was born in a heat wave and I spent most the time naked! This time I'm thinking leggings and reuse tunics from last time for summer but can buy some chunky knits for when it gets colder and track suit bottoms for when I've given up on leaving the house Wink

I'm also going to get some new Uggs because I know my feet won't fit into anything else after about six months!

Happy birthday for yesterday, hope you had a lovely day.

I've hog to get dd into a preschool soon do I just phone and ask?!

brooke89 · 13/06/2012 17:14

Happy Birthday for yesterday Kate and congrats on scan!

Welcome all newbies. Smile

CODwidow · 13/06/2012 17:21

Thanks kate glad scan went ok Smile

I'm thinking layers for oct/nov and dec with big chunky cardis as finding a coat that flatters with a bump is pretty much non existent I think. I have quite a few bits to see me through til then but only if it's warmisg

CODwidow · 13/06/2012 17:23

Aarrgghh pressed too early! I meant only if it's warmish.

SpottyTeacakes · 13/06/2012 18:05

I swear I just felt some movement, it's too early though isn't it, really? (11+6)

Clarella · 13/06/2012 18:23

Dunno I thought I did and dreamt about it but it was wind...

Grrrrr to football.

Clarella · 13/06/2012 18:29

Mind you DH got carried away on Monday night and had too many pints and then 3 cigarettes (gave up last year) and had a massive whitey and had to come home early which was hilarious and has left him massively off both (though not footy) so maybe its teaching him a lesson!

Clarella · 13/06/2012 18:30

Glad the scan went well Kate and happy birthday!

SpottyTeacakes · 13/06/2012 19:04

Quite sure it wasn't wind, seem to have a bump today too although it could be gone by tomorrow Wink

StrawberrytallCAKE · 13/06/2012 19:24

Happy birthday Kate , COD & Spotty

I was a previous winter preggo and I seem to have a lot of summer maternity clothes left over, DD was early November though so not as late as ours will be this time. I didn't get a maternity coat but I did get a nice big chunky cardigan from Isabella Oliver. Sorry I can't help much as I'm in the same dilemma, I have Isabella Oliver vouchers and can't decide between a summer dress and a gorgeous winter coat they have in the sale. Definitely uggs are a must for me too.

cookies It's really odd, I have gone off chocolate too and am craving more savoury food whereas with dd I wanted fruit and fab ice lollies...it'll be very interesting to find out if we're both having the same.

mwahmwah · 13/06/2012 19:36

Thanx all for the lovely messages earlier, my two are now in bed, hubby at work and I have the TV to myself so things are looking up. Hubby has next two days off so a wee break for me, and scan on Friday. Still feel like shot but not nearly as self absorbed and weepy as earlier. Thanks all xxx

ellliebelle · 13/06/2012 20:15

happy birthday kate, cod and spotty, my birthdays not till september so unlikely ill get away without mat clothes till then might have to chose a lovely changing bag though :)

as the day has gone on ive become more and more miserable about not having a baby room to decorate i think its just cause i want an excuse to find things to biy and i really dont have one. we dont need a pram so no research needed there no nice coordinating nursery decor to get we do need a cot but thats quite boring really and i would like 2/3 slings but kind of know which i want and will have to save the pennies as they are a little pricey i really want to buy something cute right now......ok moan over thought i better tell you lot before dh gets home as he would only look at me as if id gone crazy :)

Bubbless · 13/06/2012 20:30

mwah im in excatly the same boat, im now in my 6th week off of work.. and i also feel like people are not entirely sure if im really ill..
maybe if they actually witnessed me being sick (btw (tmi alert) scrambled egg coming back up after an hour? NOT NICE!)

stacy im kinda glad that someone else on here has had kids early! some of the looks im getting (im 20) are just disgraceful. they know nothing of circumstance or even my actual age! (admitidly i do look 12.....)

COD are you working whilst feeling this rough? im starting to think i might need to just man up and get back to work ://
also, where are your maternity tops from? do they come with different size 'belly bits'?!

spotty i didnt even think about feet swelling?! are uggs good for it.. i may need to reinvest!

so so jelous of everyone whos already had scans!! mine is next friday... forever away!
disliking being at the end of december!!

where have people booked their private scans / any companys to avoid / reccomend?

this is such a fast moving thread!!

Mummycox · 13/06/2012 20:34

Evening ladies. Happy birthday! Hope you're being or will be spoilt shortly.

Mwah keep smiling... Wink

H&m have a good maternity range - in store :-). If anyone finds pretty summer dresses please say so. Night.

SpottyTeacakes · 13/06/2012 20:41

Well most people I know have swollen up loads, it was summer though, I'm pretty prone to it anyway. Also had pre-eclampsia so had a big swollen moon face too Grin mmmm attractive......

kalidasa · 13/06/2012 21:18

Had a good afternoon today so thought I'd venture onto this thread again! (Am recovering v. slowly from a hyperemesis nightmare - was entirely in bed, at home and in hospital, for nine whole weeks in the end.) Anyway, I'm convalescing at my parents' in Suffolk at the moment and this is the first week I've been able to be up for part of each day. I had got so thin and weak in my legs but it's getting a bit better now that I'm able to walk around a bit. Still on loads of drugs and still throwing up every day but definitely a lot better than I was even a couple of weeks ago.

Anyway, my parents live right in the middle of a tiny town by the sea with lots of smart shops so today I went to the dress shop with a lingerie section to try to sort out my bra problem. I was 30DD when I got pregnant so quite big already and now I am a resplendent . . . 30G!!! God knows what they're going to be when the baby actually arrives. They feel huge and they look ridiculous. Is anyone else in the same boat? At least I've got some good bras now anyway.

I don't have any maternity clothes yet but I have bought a skirt in a size bigger than usual to get me through the next few weeks. Off work obviously (feels like forever!) so don't have to worry about smart stuff at the moment. Hope everyone else is doing OK, sorry I haven't been able to read everything since I last posted a couple of weeks ago.

cherrypiew3 · 13/06/2012 21:34

Evening Ladies,

Have not posted for a while I lost my SIL a few weeks ago very suddenly and although I have been lurking I did not feel up to posting.

Kalidasa Glad you are starting to feel a little better.

Had my 12 week scan on 30th May and all seemed well, like you though Kate baby was in the wrong position for the nuchal measurement so will have wait until 16 weeks for a blood test.

Hope everyone is else is feeling ok.

Chloe55 · 13/06/2012 21:53
