Oh no the restless legs have started! Sad didn't get this until at least 6 months with other dc's! No sleep for me for a while Sad

JoJoB77 · 13/06/2012 06:49

I'm suffering with restless legs too COD Sad i had it last time too. Luckily it doesnt stop me sleeping but it does make for a very uncomfortable evening.

JoJoB77 · 13/06/2012 06:50

Welcome mumtoAG Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 13/06/2012 07:00

Oh poor you, my neurologist said to have a little walk round when your legs start playing up. I don't get it so much these days but I'm sure it will come back soon!

SpottyTeacakes · 13/06/2012 09:30

I'm having the worst day ever and it's only half nine. About to have a complete meltdown!

livismum · 13/06/2012 10:45

Hope ur day gets better spotty
Just think less than a week till our scans Grin

HoneyMum21 · 13/06/2012 11:01

Oh dear spotty - I hope your day gets better.

Clarella · 13/06/2012 11:12

Hope you're alright spotty?

Just foolishly decided to cycle to the doctors without remembering its mostly up hill - oops! Is this heart rate when exercising thing really something to worry over? Shows how unfit I am.

Will be off for mixture of thyroid and slapped cheek till after 20 weeks, the scan is the week before the last week of term and really hoping to be there for that week. I am working from home though and finally seeing the slapped cheek quarantine as a massive blessing as I think my thyroid stuff would have been very hard to deal with at work. Beginning to feel a bit better and more able to think, been doing bits of work and can/want to do more - in middle management (though frequently given jobs heads usually do) so always things I can get on with. also, some things I will have to do in September anyway! May as well plodded on, were due ofsted then too oh joy. Probably a different story if I had children already! My third trimester is gonna be fun!

SpottyTeacakes · 13/06/2012 11:24

Clarella I get out of breath just walking up the stairs, I was the same with dd it's very annoying!

Thanks everyone, I've calmed down a bit now, dd was being a right whinger and I couldn't hang the washing out because dp had put the washing line down and I can't get it back up Blush He also washed his stinky work clothes with dd's so now they all smell of diesel and I've got to rewash them grrrr

SeymoreButts · 13/06/2012 11:42

clarella what's the latest news with your thyroid? Has your T4 been checked?

I found out today I'm not immune to slapped cheek. So far DD hasn't come down with it (her best friend has it) but DS (4) has been utterly wiped out by a high fever since Sunday. I'm hoping it's not slapped cheek but my main concern is that he gets better. I've been carrying him to the toilet but apart from that he's just been in bed or on the sofa. Sad He watched toy story this afternoon and fell asleep so I carried him to bed and then he woke up laughing hysterically. He did 2 more times then seemed to drift off again. Strange.

I'm getting some cravings now, anything sharp like lemon or vinegar. I can't stop drinking lime cordial with fizzy water. DH thinks it's horrible!

HoneyMum21 · 13/06/2012 11:47

seymore - totally with you on the lime an fizzy water, I've been hooked on it for the past couple of weeks!

mwahmwah · 13/06/2012 12:03

I have just had a huge, feel sorry for myself cry. Utterly fed up feeling awful and have had enough. I've been off work for 4 weeks and actually think I feel worse now than I did at the beginning. What makes it worse is Dh and mum ask constantly how I am and I feel like some sort of fraud saying "erm, much the same", people just get fed up with a moaner. I'm due back at work on Monday then on holiday in turkey from next sat but have no idea how I'll cope with either.
Sorry for the moan, you guys seem to be the only ones who I can really talk to just now. Maybe the anonymity is the key...

Clarella · 13/06/2012 12:08

Oh dear seymore, hope you're ok and DS too. I guess you're to be tested again in a few weeks? I would tell the doctor about his symptoms, its a horribly difficult thing to diagnose and some children don't get symptoms. At least they are aware and can monitor you via bloods and if needed scans - its apparently not very common that it passes to the baby.

The last t4 was in middle range, I'm thinking I was probably scraping the lower range or only slightly below before that but I think they want it in the higher range, next test on Monday, then consultant on thurs - slightly wondering if there will be a scan then too unless bloods ok. Midwife on tues, very much looking forward to hearing a heart beat!

I don't know what my DH has read but he seems to have become the world's authority on pregnant ladies' dreams (bloody apostrophes I can never remember) - when I mention my dreams he says "oh yes that's common in pregnancy." couldn't explain why I dreamt my bottom had disappeared though.

Clarella · 13/06/2012 12:13

Yes I seem to be coming out of a lime and grapefruit phase!

So sorry to gear that mwah, I too have given up saying much to people and been getting a bit withdrawn which I'm trying to tackle. remind me, is it sickness? I wouldnt be surprised if your mind and body are getting really tired now. Try and take each day as it comes - don't be at work if its too much, go back to doc, and I bet a bit of sun in turkey will help a lot too. Un-mny hugs xx

mwahmwah · 13/06/2012 12:19

How did I post that twice? Oh god, can't even type!

SpottyTeacakes · 13/06/2012 12:23

mwah I was dreading my long awaited holiday because I was feeling so ill but I honestly felt better than ever, obviously still tired and a bit nauseous but nothing like normal. I hope it's the same for you Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 13/06/2012 12:24

I meant nothing as bad as before not like normal did that make sense? Confused

Clarella · 13/06/2012 12:26

Second that, I bet stress makes everything much worse

ellliebelle · 13/06/2012 12:30

mwah so sorry to hear your feeling

so rotten :( i agree with clarella that the holiday will probably do you some good when i was away i felt 100 times better than i had done at home.

spotty glad to hear your day has improved

seymore really hope your ds is feeling better soon and that the slapped cheek thing isnt stressing you out so much

just over a week till my scan now and i cant bloody wait :) got on the scales this morning and i have now actually lost a few pounds which is worrying me :( i generally dont feel pregnant but i did say to dh last night that if im not then i must have some terrible illness with how rough i generally feel. not nausea just a total lack of energy also on the weight side of things i havent bewn sick and i have pretty much eaten what ive wanted when so dont really inderstand the weight loss. i did have aabout 3 stone to loose pre pregnancy so as long as everything is oj with baby i font mind loosing a few pounds

ellliebelle · 13/06/2012 12:35

on a lighter note really hope im not having twins as dont think dh will be happy about the amazing 1200 double pushchair ive seen today :)

SeymoreButts · 13/06/2012 13:23

Sorry to hear that mwah it really does get you down feeling rotten for so long. I hope you feel better soon, or work and a hol help to distract you from it, if that's possible.

clarella good luck with the consultant next week. It sounds like your thyroid function is going the right way! My GP is not planning to retest for slapped cheek, I've got a 16 week check in just under 2 weeks so maybe I should ask her to do it then? I do feel like I've got a mild version of DS's illness at the moment.

I'm glad I'm not the only one glugging lime! I had the same cravings early in DS's pregnancy. And then a few months later it was tomatoes. At one point I ate a whole tin of tinned tomatoes, cold, from the tin. Blush

mumtoAG · 13/06/2012 13:50

I'm so going to try lime and water, and it's healthy! I had a crying session too mwah on my DH last night too, 2 months of feeling wretched, far worse than last time. Hopefully we'll be in the most category of feeling more with after 14 weeks!

knottyhair · 13/06/2012 14:06

It must be something in the air mwah and mumtoAG, I had a crying session yesterday on DP - 2 months of feeling sick more or less all the time really gets you down. I checked my journal from when I was pregnant with DS 9 years ago and it seemed to pass at about 16 weeks, which means I could have another 4 weeks tries not to cry again. I felt really awful all day yesterday, feel marginally better today but not much.

giraffe213 · 13/06/2012 14:08

Sorry so many are feeling poorly today :( hope it improves. Mwah, I second not going to work if you're still feeling rough. At least on holiday you don't have to get up early or do much.

elliebelle don't worry about not gaining weight. I was getting concerned about the same thing and spent some time googling it earlier - apparently it's normal for some people as everyone's body responds differently but ultimately the baby will take what he/she needs from you. I was within my BMI range pre-pregnancy (still am, just a bit lower down it!) but have still lost several pounds despite growing in all the expected areas. I think it's because fatty and sugary food makes me feel sick more than healthy food does so I've been less inclined to eat it - but people on other threads have said they lost weight during the first or second trimesters even whilst eating rubbish and their midwives weren't particularly concerned. If you are worried though you should have an opportunity to ask when you have your scan.
