Have had to come home from work, i started bleeding again. 12 weeks scan tomorrow so will see whats going on.

cacacaz thats a great price! The oyster is lovely too which is my problem! this is it here

Elizadoesdolittle · 30/04/2012 11:52

Yay everso fabulous news. Am so pleased.

izzy fingers crossed for you and good luck tomorrow.

I had my scan this morning and am pleased to say all went well. I had a very low nuchal reading which was my main worry, so I can stop worrying about that and find something else to worry about! They dated me at 12wks today exactly with a due date of 12th nov. will update the scan stats later as an on phone at the moment but if someone else gets there first please can you update for me Smile

Good luck to the other ladies who have scans today.

Cacacaz · 30/04/2012 12:07

Great news everso

Glad your scan went well Eliza did you get a good look at your little baby and some pictures?

Izzy I hope bleeding calms down and everything goes well with your scan tomorrow. The Oyster looks nice too no wonder you can't decide!

WestWinger · 30/04/2012 13:05

everso - hooray!!!! Am so pleased for you. Glad you didn't have to wait too long.

Great news too, Eliza.

Izzy - FC for you - hope you get a chance to just rest until your scan.

Tiago · 30/04/2012 13:16

Excellent news Everso.

Fingers crossed for you Izzy. Try to have a relaxing day (admits this will be difficult) and don't do anything strenuous. I know it is difficult not to worry but do try to distract yourself.

I told my Dad at the weekend. He is rather excited. More so than me (he doesn't know about the miscarriages). The in-laws will be told next weeknd.

I will be 13 weeks tomorrow!

FruitSaladIsNotPudding · 30/04/2012 13:50

Everso - that's great news, and good that it didn't drag out too long. Now you can relax and enjoy your pregnancy.

I'm very jealous of all these scans. Two weeks until mine.

Elizadoesdolittle · 30/04/2012 14:18

Had a lovely long look and got 5 photos which I was surprised at as only asked for 2. Apart from having to wait ages to be seen (only annoying as I was desperate for the loo) I couldn't have asked for a better scan.

TheDetective · 30/04/2012 14:43

Everso I am soooooooo pleased for you! What a horrible experience you have been through. I hope you get the most amazing birth ever, just to make up for the stress. You know the ones you read where its one pain, and you cough the baby out? Wink

Izzy Make sure you just chill out and relax for the rest of the day. I hope the bleeding settles down for you.

Bad day for me today, only been up 2 hours, and been sick twice. Hmm Unimpressed.

Was hoping for a dramatic improvement, not worsening. I'd even had a full hour and a half awake in bed before getting up, which usually means I won't be sick at all. Someone is taking the piss now....

Sending DP to the shop for chuppa chup lollies to suck on Grin

NervousAt20 · 30/04/2012 15:19

Hello ladies :) havent been on for a few days and come back to a whole new thread Grin

Good luck to all the ladies having scans today!

detective glad you were happy with your scan yday and got to have a good look this time

everso thats brilliant congratulations :) bet you feel very relieved!

Hope your feeling okay izzy try to relax and fingers crossed for your scan tomorrow

Really havent been well over the weekend had lots of bad strong pains and some funky discharge (sorry tmi) went to the doctors and they got me an appointment at the hopsital today, thankfully everything went well although at first they were concerned that they couldnt be sure the baby was in the right place to had to do a dildocam and thankfully everything was, found a cyst on my overies and the lady i saw was quite annoyed that my doctor hadnt done swabs or given me any antibiotics so i have been given a letter and being sent back to my doctors tonight and told if they dont give me any then to go back and see the doctor there so hopefully they do, dont fancy hours of wait in a hospital for something it will take my doctor 5 min to do. starting to feel better again today, think i had a bug on top of everything over the weekend which wasnt nice! anyway sorry for the rant and long message!

Hope everyone is feeling better today :)

daisychain76 · 30/04/2012 15:37

Poor you, nervous sounds a bad weekend, but good news the baby is ok. Also, congrats Eliza and Everso. Hope today isn't dragging too much for you izzy and that tomorrow goes well.

Hope your pitch went well waiting. So far today I have marked all of 4 exam papers (but found some really interesting baby names and signed an on-line petition!)

Chunkychicken · 30/04/2012 16:29

Congratulations to Eliza on your good scan result, and Everso for your positive outcome, must be a relief.

Fingers crossed for you Izzy.

Feel better Nervous and Detective - hope its a minor blip and it improves.

Hate Mondays as my timetable sucks and my classes are pretty awful. At least the rest of the week looks better after today... Feeling pretty apathetic and fed up at the moment, plus tired, slightly sick, sore with bloating and the stress of trying to suck the HUGE gut in ALL DAY LONG. I wish I could just admit I'm not fat, I'm pregnant but have over 2 weeks to wait before the scan.

Should be working now (have plenty of marking to do) but I cannot be bothered. I will regret it tomorrow, when all I want to do is nap and I have to work at home!!! Oh well, 20mins and the kids go home and I can too.

applepieinthesky · 30/04/2012 17:00

Well done eliza and eversoand hope everything is ok for you izzy

12 weeks on wednesday and still not showing but my nausea is getting worse by the day. What's going on? Also keep feeling dizzy. I have read this is normal but not sure what it's about. Does anyone know?

nebbo · 30/04/2012 17:30

So I need to see the consultant on a Wednesday but need a scan before i do but scan can only fit me in on the Tuesday so that's 2 mornings off work rather than being able to do it in one. Then I've been moved to clinic and working 5 short days rather than 3 long ones which is good but a pain to try and organise an MOT around as they don't open til 8.30 and I've got to start work at 8.30 so will need more cover for that.

Work have been so good but I just can't seem to be able to get organised at the moment!!

Oh I wish things were simple, I don't have the brain power right now!! Maybe some chicken soup for dinner will solve everything! (don't I sound like a drama queen- I've hardly got problems, just can't think straight!)

DonnaDoon · 30/04/2012 18:02

I wonder if any of you can advise me please?...I had the nuchal test on friday and was not given a result I was told that I will get the result at 16wk midwife appointment unless its high risk then a phone call within 3 days...does that sound right to anyone? I noticed some of you getting the result there and then?

TheDetective · 30/04/2012 18:11

I know that feeling Nebbo! I am dreading going back as I have not had to think about anything other than myself for weeks. I'm desperately worried, but trying to put a brave face on it! I have terrible baby brain, and worried about forgetting something really really important!!

With the MOT - do you get a lunch 'break'? Could you ask for 30 mins to nip out to a garage, drop it off, taxi back to work, then at the end of clinic, taxi back to collect? I think most garages are open til 6. Also, most are open saturday mornings. I had mine done on a saturday morning this time - sat and waited after a night shift!

Me and DP fell out today. Over crisps. He bought me the wrong type of crisps. Even though I text him specifically which ones I wanted. He got me regular salted crisps. I wanted RIDGED salted crisps Grin I called him a dick and sent him back in rush hour traffic to Asda. He came back with the right ones Grin Blush

Its the first time he has really got annoyed - normally he is so chilled, I must be finally testing his patience!

He's making up for the grump now by making me roast potatoes for tea. Just roast potatoes. Nom nom! I haven't moved off the sofa all day. I don't care though, I feel like a bag of crap. Eating and sucking sweets seem to be helping a little.

Just booked my next midwife appointment for 18th May. Will seem strange that I then won't see them til 28 weeks, which is 3 months later!

eversomuch · 30/04/2012 19:15

Thanks everyone. Very relieved indeed. Hoping all will go smoothly from here on. Very little chance of that ideal birth, though, detective, as I'll most likely be having an ELCS because of my fibroids. I'm completely at peace with that, though, and it will be ideal as long as baby comes out healthy.

donna, I think every hospital is different. Mine is a teaching hospital, where you tend to see a junior doc, then a senior doc at each visit (for scans) and results come back very quickly. Sorry you have to wait. I know how frustrating it can be.

Hoping everyone scheduled for scans this week gets good news.

GTbaby · 30/04/2012 19:16

Advice needed...

i have looked at NCT website and classes for mid Oct- Nov babies.

a) when is a good time to book... am i getting ahead of myself?

b) i will go to the hospital one as well as it is free! but its only one morning, but do i need to do both? cost is a factor , and it costs £250 for 17 hours with NCT... is it worth is considering i will go to the hospital one. however i don't want to regret it after, as i know NO local mums [or do i ?..anyone live in west london? lol].

the money is not so much that me and DH [in our circumstance] would have to go without other things to afford the course However, £250 is still a big wedge of money iyswim.

would be good to hear your thoughts.

TheDetective · 30/04/2012 19:28

I thought about the NCT classes - purely because I want to get to know other mums in the area. I'm going to the NHS class (its a one off on a saturday) when DP has a saturday off work (July probably as this is the only annual leave he has this year).

I don't want DP to feel left out just because its my second, and I'm a midwife - its his first and he wants to know as much as he can!

I haven't decided what to do about getting to know other mums yet. I think I might just go to groups after I've had the baby!

If I wasn't in this situation, I'd probably just do the NHS class. But everyone is different, and I think that £250 sounds reasonable enough for 17 hours worth of classes. I just think the NHS classes are useful in terms of finding out how things work where you plan to give birth. If you can afford to do the NCT as an extra, then I guess, why not?!

DesperateHousewife21 · 30/04/2012 19:33

I didn't go to a single ante natal group with ds. Tbh they don't teach you anything you cant find out on here/ google/ mw. If its for the social aspect then groups once the baby is here are better IMO. That's just me though :)

TheDetective · 30/04/2012 19:34

GT How did you find out the prices for the NCT classes btw?!

Chunkychicken · 30/04/2012 19:36

Donna if its a combined nuchal test then they also do bloods so they'll use both the measurement & the levels of markers in your blood to check your risk factor. This will take a little while to process (I got my result through the post with DD). I think the nuchal fold measurement was listed on the scan photos, along with all the date, name etc.

Chunkychicken · 30/04/2012 19:41

Detective the prices vary from region to region so you have to contact them or go through parts of the website to find out.

And I agree with DH21. I couldn't afford the extra few hundred £s when we already paying out so much on new baby stuff, maternity clothes, redecorating for baby etc so we just did the hospital ones, read books & then afterwards I joined MN & Netmums & took myself off to any local groups I could find. I have good friends now through that.

DonnaDoon · 30/04/2012 19:44

Thankyou I cant see anything on photo and yes I did have bloods so just a waiting game then.

GTbaby · 30/04/2012 19:49

A friend of mine only did NHS one. N then after went to a baby group. But she said she felt left out as she didn't know anyone as they all seemed to have met before, I'll follow my own advice here as I told her to stick with it and soon she would get to know them.

However I can't find any local baby groups! Where shall I look?

daisychain76 · 30/04/2012 19:51

I have posted about this before, but to me the benefit of the NCT would be the social aspect. Thinking about meeting other mums afterwards, I do think it partly depends what groups you have locally - things like baby massage are great, but if there are only toddler groups, some of those can be very loud and a bit cliquey if you don't have friends there already - imho. I say this as someone who has vowed to be selective about which groups she frequents this time around and not just keep going cos its part of the "routine".

My NHS clinic ran a post-natal group for mums and that was really helpful - far more than their ante-natal classes which packed about 40 people into a room - and also a great way to make friends in the same boat (ie, obsessed with nappy contents and sleep).
