Afternoon! Glad its all settled down Blondie - your necklace sounds lovely.

My hubby bought me a sapphire necklace as a wedding present - doesn't get worn much though as I'm sure one of the DC would pull it off my neck!

Well it rained most of yesterday, all night and it hasn't stopped yet here. Somehow I managed to not get out of bed until 7,50am - would appear DS has worked out how to turn Milkshake on - not sure if that is good or not, but the lie in was appreciated.
Even better he has gone to sleep now so I can put my feet up!

Took ages to get to sleep here as the baby was on the move constantly and then I got woken up at 4.40am by DS anyway but commiserations to those who are having bad sleeps.

surfmama · 29/04/2012 12:12

I want a present now.

10000fireflies · 29/04/2012 12:17

And me!! Where are my anniversary flowers??

surfmama · 29/04/2012 12:19

but i suppose i am going to get one soon - of the wiggling puking variety! how exciting.

blondie - thinking of you I would have been scarred and hope you are okay. Don't forget to do some alphabet circles with your feet to keep your circulation moving, very important.

kveta - are you feeling okay now? I felt dizzy just at home yesterday. I hate it and the thought of feeling dizzy out has me sweating at the very idea.

oddly enough now I can't walk that well from groin pain, i seem to find my bed and sleeping quite comfy! still getting hip pain but is it nothing compared to the end of day having to crawl rather than walk pain! ha, i have to laugh really all the yoga and staying active and here I am with my lovely nan's walking stick! still feels a bit better today, off in the rain for a kick in the puddles (with my right leg!).

blondiedollface · 29/04/2012 12:42

Here you go FF Thanks :)

Kveta · 29/04/2012 12:54

I got a parasite necklace for a wedding present (from my mum) - it is AWESOME. nothing will ever match up, jewelry wise :o DH doesn't really do non-practical presents anyway, I occasionally get flowers from him, but never without prompting! I chose my engagement ring too, as he didn't have a scooby what to get me. It's a sapphire, I love the colour of them!

blondie, glad you are feeling better, whole episode sounds scary - baby has to hang on a few more days, we don't need any more april babies on the june thread, thank you very much!!

surf I'm better, but getting dizzy if I stand for too long. luckily my job involves sitting in front of the computer all day, so should be ok for a few more weeks! We had friends round for lunch yesterday (who we haven't seen for 2 years, oops - we worked out together that we are only 90 minutes drive apart, so should be less lax in future!) and I was completely pooped by the time they left! Got more friends coming over this afternoon, but they are happy with a cup of tea and a biscuit, so no cooking needed, thankfully.

this weather is so bloody depressing too. It's the wettest drought I've experienced, that's for sure. The high winds and torrential downpour overnight were quite scary. it's difficult to come up with things to keep DS happy though, as he just wants to run around outside. I just hope it isn't like this all summer.

right, DS is having a nap (in theory, can hear him trotting about upstairs!) so I'd better go and have a lie down for a bit. Need to make the most of any spare time we get in the next few weeks!

10000fireflies · 29/04/2012 12:58

Awww, thanks Blondie!! I might tell DH that at least I got some virtual ones!!

Kveta what's a parasite necklace?

Kveta · 29/04/2012 13:52

it is a necklace in the shape of the parasite I study :o DH rolled his eyes quite spectacularly when I walked down the aisle to him at the wedding and he saw what was around my neck :o

blondiedollface · 29/04/2012 14:52

Cathfin Yes, I doubt my necklace will get much airing especially once LO is here, but it's so beautiful and has the same size emerald cut Sapphire as my engagement ring, actually have to keep going and check it's still in the box and admiring it Grin

Kveta Your necklace sounds really interesting, what kind of parasites do you study? And yes exactly, I wouldn't mind a late May baby, but April is just too soon LO (hope she can hear me)!

Surf Thank you :) DH has been lovely every hour he helps me up to have a 'wander' makes me do a circuit of downstairs! And I'm doing my ankle circles on and off!

This weather does make it more tolerable having to stay indoors with my feet up, but I'm very bored not that you could tell from how much I'm posting trying to keep busy with this that and the other!

Hope the rest of you are having a slightly 'drier' drought and the flooding that's going on here doesn't affect any of you!!

gwenniebee · 29/04/2012 20:12

Evening all... back from my travels!

Blondie glad all seems to be settling and you didn't have a surprise arrival!

Kveta couldn't agree more about the wettest drought.... our water feature made a spectacular return while we were away, we discovered on our return tonight. We also drove through loads of floody places on our way from Worcs to Herts. DH posted something on fb last week about the leak in the ceiling/very wet drought phenomenon and had a snooty post from a friend about the drought being "in the ground" water not "in the air" water... all of which I understand but it's not a lot of comfort when the in the air water is becoming through the ceiling water!! Back on the phone to AA emerg response now, fat lot of good they were last week though.

Family party yesterday was a looong way to go for not a totally brilliant time! Also had a bit of a panic last night as was/am ridiculously thirsty and started feeling quite dizzy late last night. Then began suspecting my feet and hands were somewhat swollen and panic set in..! Anyway, went to bed and seemed to be better on the swelling/dizziness front this morning. Am feeling a bit concerned by it though, especially as I'm so thirsty and not entirely happy with how swimmy my head is. Probably thinking about it too much though....

Have bought a Natal Hypnotherapy DVD and awaiting news on another after the recommendations on here :) Thanks ladies!

Smallwonder · 30/04/2012 00:52

Whoever said the weather is depressing is 100% correct! I'm not enjoying being stuck indoors at the moment. If not PG the DC and I would be in our waterproofs regardless doing something nature based but just getting them and my fat self to the front door is a mission. I do hope it settles soon, I could do with a dose of cheery sunshine!
Ooohhhh at lovely necklace, sounds beautiful Smile I haven't worn jewelry in years, one day I'll wear some again and hopefully not as 25th anniversary gifts and the like Hmm children age one dramatically, be warned!!! Wink

Am very optimistic that once LO stops the aerobics I'll be in happy land but am terribly thirsty and keep needing to wee....
Will sound very old in saying this but would never have thought back in the day, that I'd be sharing my insomnia and pregnancy qualms with a group of women via my telephone, from my bed at 1am!! 'have u got 10p for the phone box' seems anciently distant! Just my thought for the night Blush

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 30/04/2012 06:58

Morning all!

Hope everyone's okay.

Well, I had a stern word with MiniCheddar on Friday afternoon / Saturday re his breech position as of 1.30am Friday and hopefully he's taken it onboard. In addition to a stern word, I threw in a few inversions, breech tilts, use of accupressure points and self-hypnosis just to give him a few hints and tips. I happen to have a midwife visit this afternoon so we shall see if he's listened to his mum!

Have a good Monday everyone - as of tomorrow we're 'due next month'!

McKayz · 30/04/2012 08:06

Morning,

SSC Hopefully MiniCheddar has moved for you.

I am fed up now. I ache everywhere, struggle to get up of the sofa or bed. DH goes on Saturday, which means I have to start doing the school run again. The school is a mile from here. I think it might take me about an hour to get there. Roll on 37 weeks when I can start operation evict the baby!!

We have sunshine!!! I had forgotten what it looked like.

Hope everyone is ok.

Warlin · 30/04/2012 09:17

Morning all

I'm joining the fed up club! I am totally exhausted this morning and am so uncomfortable. My heartburn is off the scale now and keeping me awake all night and this morning I'm having cramps...LO feels really heavy all of a sudden!! Getting up, walking the dog and commuting an hour to work just leaves me exhausted now....4 more weeks to struggle through at work.

Blondie glad you're ok now, must have been scary. Def keep the feet up as much as possible.

Kveta I'm intrigued by the neckalce too!

SSC hope LO obeys his mum and turns :)

McKayz not good that your DH goes again...when is he due back? Tough to be on your own at this stage but at least you'll have us fro support Grin

On the plus side, I bought new pjs and bits and bobs for my hospital bag at the weekend so nearly sorted...though I'm sure I've forgotten something vital too! I'm hoping the cot arrives this week too as I'm itching to get the nursery done.

We decided not to go to the anti natal classes. We have 2 evenings arranged through the hospital but they are at the end of May and DH has an important work thing on on the first night. I really don't think I'd be able to cope going after work and doubt we'll learn much at this stage anyway.

Was funny last night...was having some ice cream while watching Homeland and set the cold bowl on my stomach....LO went nuts and was really trying to push it off....he obviously felt the cold Grin. was very cute.

Waves to everyone else and Envy of those on maternity and resting at home

Morning all,

Gwennie sorry to hear about your dizzy/thirsty/swelling - doesn't sound nice. I've been getting very thirsty recently and having swollen/hot hands and feet but I think it's just normal end of pg stuff for me. We also went to a family party/reunion yesterday but we all had a lovely time and everyone was very excited about the imminent new addition to the clan. Did lots of swapping of email/mobile numbers 'cos everyone's very keen to hear our news as soon as poss.

SSC hope your MW visit goes well today and miniC has moved south for you. My LO is apparently 3/5 engaged and sometimes i can really feel her burrowing right into my pelvis - very odd feeling like she's going to emerge any moment!

McKayz I'm with you on the aching - my back is still killing me and it's making it very difficult and painful to walk. Luckily with DH's new job he's been at home a lot more so has been helping with things like walking DS2 to school (thankfully DS1 walks himself).

Hopefully having a quiet day today. Got to finish off my cards this morning Smile and wash/dry all the baby clothes, blankets, sheets etc. so I can get my/baby's hospital bag packed properly. Also need to encourage DH to do a bit of nesting as our house is a tip! Grin

Hope everyone has a good Monday - it's been raining here this morning but sun has just come out, although still quite windy.

McKayz · 30/04/2012 09:33

Warlin DH is due home on June 30th so about 9 days after I am dueSad

Kveta · 30/04/2012 09:35

morning everyone.

gwennie have you called the midwife re: the dizziness etc? would be worth getting it checked out!

smallwonder I was thinking the same the other day re: internet - it's so weird to think that 10 years ago, we just would not have been online like this, and especially not from our phones! I think it's the phones that amaze me most - I rememebr getting my first mobile 12 years ago, and only knowing 2 other people with mobiles! Now, of course, I can't think of anyone I know who doesn't have a mobile! And I can go online at any time of day or night, it's fabulous :o

mckayz sorry your DH is off again so soon - how long is he away for this time? and how crap that it's over your due date too :( do let us all know if you need virtual handholding, we are here for you! do you have anyone who can help with the school run?

we had a busy weekend with friends round on saturday and sunday, so am pretty knackered today. Still, at least it isn't bloody raining at the moment. Although this morning that was a mixed blessing, as I went into the garden in my slippers to retrieve DS's scooter for nursery, and stood on a dead mouse. Not nice. Also very nearly stood on a dead pigeon on campus this morning, so not a fabulous start to the week!! for me or the dead things :o

weather forecast doesn't look too great for the next week either, so I've asked nursery to keep DS outside all day if possible, the poor boy was so sick of being cooped up over the weekend.

right, only a few working days left now, so I should make the most of them!!

have a lovely monday all!

ellybett · 30/04/2012 11:32

Morning lovely knowledgeable MN ladies. Just very quick post as on phone so proper post coming soon. BUT I am stupid and due to only seeing mw every 6 weeks and work never asking for it (til today!) I don't have a MATB1 form. Do you get this from mw or gp?
TIA x

Kveta · 30/04/2012 11:38

midwife! hope you get it sorted quickly :)

TeaandHobnobs · 30/04/2012 12:32

Hello lovely friends!

Apologies for my absence but have just been adjusting to life on the neonatal ward. Promise I haven't forgotten you and will do a proper update on BabyTea's arrival as soon as I can.

Kudos to you all soldiering on with the pregnancy woes! And blondiedollface you keep that little one cooking!

Just grabbing a Brew in the parents' room on neonatal - must hurry up and get back for BabyTea's next feed!

Smallwonder · 30/04/2012 12:51

Tea Yay for an update, really pleased to hear from you :o Looking forward to more and more and more.....
Kveta - Eugh at dead things! DC would have been very interested! I'd have run a mile. Will be great for DS to have play in the fresh air, my younger two have been digging in the garden since 10am and are just getting ready for bath and lunch. The fact that the conservatory (rugs included) are covered in mud and the garden is a mess is perfectly fine Hmm I had an hour to cook, listen to the radio and have a brief chat with a friend.
Fanbelt Ditto on the nesting instinct. Fortunately LO does tell me when I'm overdoing it :) Did you finish your cards?
Warlin I hope work will be over soon for you, we all seem to be experiencing the same ailments/moods at moment. As SSC said, tomorrow we will just be 'due next month' :)
McKayz Hope you manage some feet up time.
Must run, bath calls for kids.

McKayz · 30/04/2012 13:13

Tea lovely to hear from you. I hope it is all going well with you and BabyTea. Can't wait to hear how the little man is doing.

Kveta · 30/04/2012 13:16

tea! so glad to hear from you! hope all is going as well as possible, and can't wait to hear more on BabyTea's arrival into the world and how you, he, and your DH are getting on!

having seen Fanbelt talking about announcement cards, we are thinking of doing something along those lines for baby, but with a photo - has anyone done this before, or have any recommendations on good places to get them printed? We don't want to have anything too pink, but would love a nice design to show off our baby to the world, particularly aged rellies who don't know one end of a mouse from the other :o didn't do it with DS, whoops, but we were both so shell shocked by the whole process, I'm amazed we managed to announce it to anyone tbh.

blondiedollface · 30/04/2012 13:18

Tea So glad to hear from you, everything sounds so positive from your end which makes me really happy! Hope BabyTea is adjusting to life on the outside well and that you are enjoying every moment of being mummy to such a new and lovely LO Grin

The sunshine has finally come out here so going to actually get dressed and wash my hair and go to the shop to buy some milk, get some air, and then have another rest!

Fan and Small Yeh, definitely feeling the nesting instinct - often just forget I can't do something like reaching down to the floor or reaching up to a shelf and just feeling that pain and knowing I've gone a step too far and have overdone it :(

Hope you've all got the lovely sunshine we've got here :)
