rhi have you had a look at spinning babies for ideas on how to turn LO? I've started the breech tilt, using frozen peas and hot water bottle too!

Also, I've got an appointment with acupunturist on Wednesday for some moxibustion.

I've also got 2 weeks to turn it, so I figure I'll try pretty much anything! Can't do any harm, and the doctors won't do ECV, so again, if I can't get LO to turn on his own, it's c-s for me too Sad

I know its not the end of the world, but would rather not, as our family aren't around to help, and our house is a pain in the bum with the way it's setout, the bathroom is miles away from our bedroom, not great if you've just had stomach surgery! So it's as much about logistics and support afterwards that I don't want it, as well as also wanting to have the natural labour

thinking positive baby turning thoughts.

was thinking of you today blondie how are your contractions? could we see your LO soon?

McKayz · 18/05/2012 16:36

Stupid question alert!!

My brother picked DS1 up from school for me today. I asked him to grab some bubble bath for me. He got the radox muscle soak one that has clary sage in it. I'll be ok to use it won't I? There won't be enough to start labour surely just in bubble bath?

Might post in pregnancy too.

Smallwonder · 18/05/2012 16:42

Afternoon all,
mckayz when I haven't been able to get my dose of Lush bath bombs I've ordered Radox with the grocery shop and used that one (blue packet?) many times, and am still here with no signs of labour at all :) but of course, am no expert, just nothing happened to me.

Smallwonder · 18/05/2012 16:44

tdw cookies sound delicious and wouldn't mind some thanks :) hope your cough clears ASAP. Will have to login later, has been a day in and out of bed nd DH has just turned up with our dinner -- not quite half day! Hmmm

blondiedollface · 18/05/2012 17:26

Special Thanks for asking, contractions are so on and off it's exhausting, but until they are 'regular' the hospital don't want to know... So I'm trying everything to encourage these contractions to come and stay - have been waddling about, eating pineapple, drinking Slimline Indian Tonic, DH is cooking a curry tonight and we even dtd last night... At 36 weeks (37 weeks by my dates and I'm pretty sure they're not wrong) I don't feel as though I'm risking LO and my body feels so ready now...

McKayz I posted in the other thread but I found this :)

Ingredients
Aqua, sodium laureth sulfate, sodium chloride, cocamidopropyl betaine, maris sal, parfum, citric acid, salvia sclarea oil, tetrasodium EDTA, propylene glycol, sodium lactate, dipropylene glycol, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, trideceth-7, linalool, butylphenyl methylpropional , benzyl salicylate, sodium benzoate, Cl 42090, Cl 19140.

It's the 8th ingredient so not massive quantities..

Hope everyone else is well waves from over bump, have a lovely weekend all Xx

ChateauMargot · 18/05/2012 18:02

Special and Rhi, I'll join you on the breech front! Don't much fancy the sound of an ECV, and a c-section even less... :(

ffnorm · 18/05/2012 18:34

Wow - Chateau, special and rhi, with my unco operative tranverse baby, that's 4 of us who will head for C/S if our babies don't turn...

Need to sort DS out for bed,so will pop back later Smile

HorseyGirl1 · 18/05/2012 21:07

Me too actually - flexed breech. Consultant going to try ECV on Monday and we'll see what happens then. Hope everyone doing well x

McKayz · 18/05/2012 21:19

Gosh there are a lot with transverse or breech babies. Cheeky little babes move!!! Grin
Though I might be joining you. Baby still seems to flip from head down to being more transverse. I've been trying inversions but I do get a bit scared I'll get stuck upside down!

Blondie thank you for that. I do hope BabyBlondie comes soon. I can't imagine how annoying it must be not to mention a bit worrying.

Hope we all sleep tonight.

thedogwalker · 18/05/2012 21:31

Just reading my day by day pg book and spookily today it refers to breech babies. It reads that even though space is limited there is still time for the position to change and babies to turn head down. Fingers x for all of you with breech or transverse LOs. Let's get them a turning Smile

TeaandHobnobs · 18/05/2012 21:44

c'mon babies, turn turn turn!!!

McKayz · 18/05/2012 21:52

Who mentioned ages ago about the strange feeling in their pelvis that they described as something like chicken bones? I know that sounds mad but I'm sure I remember someone posting about it.

I've just had the same feeling and can only say it felt like when I've done roast chicken and I'm pulling it apart. Eewwwwww

Smallwonder · 18/05/2012 22:04

It was SSC that mentioned it Mckayz -- I think!!
Fingers crossed for all breech babies, am pretty sure it's the amount of fizz I drink that got mine back to head down, not that it matters for me though.
What a day! I must've heard "mummmmmy" at least 1000 times today ...
I hope it's not another long night with 1 hours sleep. Nite x

MammaInTheMaking · 19/05/2012 03:44

3:30am and I'm awake.......went to bed incredibly tired and then woke up with some period type pains and now I'm on full alert and. Can't get back to sleep. We're 37+2 now so suppose things could happen whenever, however DP is best man at a wedding in a week so we want to hang on til then...! Feel so queesy too. Yucky.

Sending some 'turning' vibes to all the babies in funny positions.

TeaandHobnobs · 19/05/2012 03:48

Poor Mamma, hope you can get back to sleep soon!

McKayz · 19/05/2012 03:59

Oooh Mamm, I hope you hang on until the wedding and get back to sleep.

I woke up needing the toilet and now baby thinks its party time and I can't get back to sleep due to dancing baby. Shock

McKayz · 19/05/2012 04:01

Mamma even not Mamm.

StarlightMcKenzie · 19/05/2012 04:19

I'm awake too - damn it!!

AmethystMoon · 19/05/2012 04:28

Morning! To all those fellow non sleepers out there grrrrr! Am so tired but just can't sleep and feel yucky.
blondie if you feel ready then I am sending you regular contraction vibes Smile it will be exciting to have the next 'June' baby here with us. Keep us posted.
warlin oh god sacking people is crap isn't it Sad I work in HR and have moved to the people development side as I got sick of years of disciplining and sacking people. I hope it went as well as it could. I've just appointed my maternity cover person and that was quite sad as all of the people I interviewed are out of work and were all so keen. One of my team had been chatting to one of them whilst they waited to go in to see me for their interview. They had obviously mentioned that they were unemployed and so afterwards she was saying that she thought I should give them the job because of this reason. She was a bit Shock when I told her that everyone I had interviewed was out of work, she was very quiet for ages Sad don't think she realises how tough the jobs market is at the moment. New lady starts Tuesday do fingers crossed she will work out we have a two week handover which is a bit of a luxury.
surf glad you're waters situation is okay Smile probably TMI but I seem to have a lot of watery discharge which seems to whoosh out a few times a day but I don't think is amniotic fluid as only about a teaspoon full each time Blush I might mention it to my MW on Friday though... Just in case. Oh and would live a beach meet up Grin I had been planning a few trips to the witterings anyway as I love it down there. We used to sail down to east head a lot for bbqs and to drop anchor for the night in the summer from our mooring in Emsworth but we're selling our beloved boat as can't afford the upkeep with a LO on the way ,makes me so sad Sad. My dog also loves nothing more than to go for a walk along there as she loves the sea Grin very Envy that you live there!
rachy I'm about to start trying perineal massage, do you have any tips of where to look to see how it's done? My NCT teacher said there are you tube clips but I am a bit scared to look Grin by the way I will PM you just been manic at work and am getting nothing else done Blush I finish work at the start of June so maybe we could meet up for a coffee before we have LOs (if we're quick)Grin
Thinking of all of you with breech and transverse babies, which seems to be nearly everyone... Lots of turning vibes for you all.
Thank you for all my birthday wishes on Thursday, I had a lovely day and DP took me out for a lovely posh meal at a Michelin starred restaurant nearby. I'm a sucker for lovely food. It was beautiful but my cast iron stomach seems to be a little delicate at the moment and I am still suffering from all the rich food Grin so lovely to have a nice evening together though. I suspect this may be very rare from now on!
Hello to everyone else, sorry brain has now exceeded capacity and gone blank about all of your posts. But I do enjoy reading them all Grin
Have lovely weekends all of you and let's hope the rain stays away Smile

AmethystMoon · 19/05/2012 04:30

Sorry for all typos , hope you can make sense of my waffle Grin

rachyroodle · 19/05/2012 05:00

Gosh - not just me awake then!

tdw I'm right with you for the horrible chesty cough. Have been off work the last few days with it. The midwife was saying that it will prob take ages to shift because my immune system will be right down because I'm pregnant. Going to take a few extra days holiday next week to try to get better so only 5 days left in the office to go!

Amethyst Yes - let's get something sorted for when we start our mat leave - if the babies hang on that long! I went to youtube too. There is a lady on there with a giant model of some lady bits that was most instructive! Which restaurant were you at? Sounds like a lovely birthday treat! Normally a real good meal out is my idea of an amazing time but must admit since being pregnant my tastes have got distinctly vanilla. Doesn't help that at most really nice places most of the starters are not allowed for pregnant ladies! Have been craving japanese food all the time though!!

Special and everyone else with an upside down baby. I tried some of the spinning babies stuff a few weeks ago. The one where you hang upside down off the sofa and I think it worked. Definitely got the baby moving that was for sure! Here's hoping everyones upside down/ transverse babies do some turning and that the rest of them stay the right way up for the next few weeks!

Blondie so exciting that there may be a baby soon! I expect in the next few weeks our posts are going to start to get full of pineapple and curry eating. I'm 37 weeks on Tuesday and must admit that I have been thinking it would not be the end of the world if the LO came along (apart from that I have not finished work and we don't yet have a moses basket!)

My stomach is so large now that I am sure that the baby is massive already! Looking at my growth chart in my notes my tummy has grown to the size it should be at 39 weeks having charted nicely on the graph the whole time until now. Does anyone know how much this tallies up with having a massive baby? The midwife didn't mention it at all, she just wrote FEET in my notes and I don't know what that means! Will be a fortnight now before I can ask her as it seems wrong to call her just to ask what my stomach being so big means!

McKayz · 19/05/2012 05:09

I give up. I think I'm going to put the tv on.

Smallwonder · 19/05/2012 05:17

Fancy a cuppa and chat anyone? Hmm
2.5 hrs sleep much better than 1! You'd think I'd be so tired regardless... Mckayz, I started watching a Netflix movie last night (totally wrong genre, near woke everyone up with my silly scream and baby consequently started playing) so may return to that -- ahhhh pains and uncomfyness....
Well good morning anyway

McKayz · 19/05/2012 05:21

Surprisingly there isnt much on tv at 5am Hmm

Roll on babies, at least then we'd all have a reason for being awake!

Smallwonder · 19/05/2012 05:23

Didn't even notice previous posts were today's Shock duh! Morning fellow wide awakers!
