10000fireflies · 15/05/2012 22:06

Welcome rhihaf and shelly

Am just indulging in some chocolate mousse. Any takers? Shouldn't be too much hassle for me to finish it off though!! Grin

Smallwonder · 15/05/2012 22:26

Keep logging into FB and forgetting about MN Confused

RHI Very glad to hear all is well with LO and the journey was ok. Hope you're sitting back and relaxing now.
Tea Totally agree with TDW. Fortunately the first 6 weeks or so with DS1 are a haze now and that was a delivery at almost 42 weeks. Be good to yourself (oh no, must be too many food ads), in all seriousness, you're doing amazingly, and that's only based on the little snippets we read here and there. Lovely to hear of baby outings too, I'm looking fwd to our first walk :)
Keep posting!
Waves to newbies. All the F beginnings are more than welcome here, Fat..Female..Friendly...First timers, add F words as applicable! Grin

Gwennie How many more working days do you have? I was thinking of you today. I started DS1s newest project work this morning, mainly I was sat in my comfy chair helping him spell, cut and stick, design etc.. then similar with DS2 and a little play with DS3. By the time I'd loaded the utilities and started lunch I was absolutely knackered and happy to crawl into bed with youngest two by 1.30pm. How are you managing a whole class and commuting!?
Hat off to you.

Hoping that everyone is well. For those of you who haven't packed your hospital bags I'd highly recommend that you do after my short stay. The lovely young lass opposite me on the ward was told to stay in until they induced her and she was sooo upset that she hadn't brought her nail polish remover bless her, she just wasn't prepared. 'I've got nail varnish' she said 'just no remover and I knew i should have dyed my hair yesterday' :) My email to DH went like this 'Go into bathroom, grab pink toiletry bag from windowsill. Take to bedroom, put make up bag in, the black towels from the landing storage unit. Go to 3
rd drawer down, take out pink pj's, and so on...... nothing was missing, was very impressed, but after thinking i'd had everything done, in reality, much was missing, in place but missing just the same. Do not forget your flipflops/slippers! I used a lot of hand sanitizer, wipes and the ward was very warm, i was so thankful for my Lush Eau Roma Spray and most thankful for the Lush Skin Drink cream, I went through a lot of cleansing wipes and those 2 products were great!
Right enough rattling away from me. Need to spend some time on DH, he's been an absolute star and needs some TLC from me now. Will waddle over in that direction...waddle waddle. x

McKayz · 15/05/2012 22:36

I've just been looking at a picture of me at 38 weeks with DS2 and I look smaller than I do now!! Eeeekkk!!!!!!!

DairyNips · 15/05/2012 22:44

Ok so my snacks ended up being a Snickers, a sherbet fountain and a calippoGrin

10000fireflies · 15/05/2012 23:59

That's an impressive selection Dairy. Think you've covered all the major food groups with that Grin Grin

Oh my, I have parents visiting tomorrow to 'help' prepare for new carpets being fitted Friday. I am dreading the arguments. Sad I just don't have the energy full stop. I will be tied up for a few days, so catch up with you sometime at the weekend again.

McKayz · 16/05/2012 03:29

10000ff good luck with the parents and the carpets.... Deep breaths!
Well I've just woken to read all about the snackfest that I missed last night. Ice cream, sherbert fountains, calippos, snickers yummy.... Is it wrong to now be craving sugar at 6am? Grin
Rubbish night's sleep here, sore back and bump Sad

ffnorm · 16/05/2012 06:46

Morning all especially the new folk - welcome Smile

I'm up thanks to our perpetual early riser,DS...

Small your story makes me think of when I had DS,a lady came into the postnatal ward on Christmas day having unexpectedly having her baby at 35 weeks. The MW who was admitting her was a bit slow on the uptake. (I'm listening to the whole conversation from behind curtains)
MW:Do you have pads?
Pt: nice apologetic explanation of how she hadn't brought/packed her bag as she was 35 weeks.
MW: DO you have nappies?
Pt: No as I said...will send my husband...
MW: DO you have clothes for the baby?
Pt: no.
And it went on,I felt like shouting out from behind the curtain - She hasn't got her bag,so the answer to any "have you got" question,is NO!!!

Dairy how is your MIL?

Blondie how are things with you today? Settled??

HAve a great day,everyone!!

emblosion · 16/05/2012 07:14

I'm awake too, eyes pinged open at 6 and that was it!

ffnorm am laughing at the story of the slow midwife, I bet the lady being admitted was very Hmm after a while!

I started packing my bag last night, its good because it made me focus and realise I still have bits and bobs to get. Does any one know if we should take our own cotton wool and things like that? At the moment I have a wheely suitcase for me and a hand luggage size one for the baby - I can't take much more or the hospital will think I'm moving in!

emblosion · 16/05/2012 07:18

10000ff good luck with carpets and parents!

dairy I was so jealous of your snacks last night that I ate a family sized bag of orange aero balls. They gave me heartburn sadly!

McKayz · 16/05/2012 08:09

Bleugh. Feeling very sick this morning. I managed to get back to sleep last night but now feel awful. Sad

If I ever have another baby I'm going to make sure I can drive. Life would be a million times easier.

Smallwonder · 16/05/2012 08:48

Also over Indulged and fortunately wasn't sick Smile DH had bought a nice selection of chocolates and ice lollies. Yum.
mckayz hope u manage some rest today.
fireflies they are not allowed to stress u!!! Good luck with carpets though, hope ur otherwise well Smile
ffnorm bet she was!! Poor woman.
Hope everyone manages some rest later, I woke every 2 hours but managed to get sleep in usual upright position.

Good day all Grin

DairyNips · 16/05/2012 09:41

Sorry for causing yet more snack envy! I'm loving I've lollies right now and calippo's are on offer at Tesco, they're so yummy!

ffnorm No new news on my mil. Dh visited her last night and said she was really yellow.. She was supposed to get a scan yesterday but they ended up not being able to fit her in so it should be today now. They keep saying it could be a multitude of things so just a waiting game I guess.

I'm 37 weeks today, according to the baby thing I have on fb I'm classed as full term now. Ds has just worried me slightly by saying 'I think you'll have the baby today or tomorrow' er but I'm not ready!

DairyNips · 16/05/2012 09:41

Ice lollies

DairyNips · 16/05/2012 09:43

mckayz hope the sickness passes.

1000ff hope they don't stress you out too much!

Kveta · 16/05/2012 09:52

welcome aboard new folk - copy and paste the stats and add yourselves to them!

Dairy your evening snack description gave me heartburn, I think eating a sherbet fountain right now would finish me off! I have recently discovered fabulous chocolate fingers - they have milk and white choc on them, and I have a pack on my desk in front of me, and they are unlikely to see the end of the day...

hope your MIL is ok.

McKayz I was looking back at pics of me when pg with DS, and I was smaller then, certainly. You've seen how big my bump is now - bear in mind I'm 5' 7", so not even particularly short! I now have 2 tops that cover my bump. Only 2. It's going to be a long 3-4 weeks!!

ffnorm with you on the early rising DS - bloody child appeared at 4.30 this morning, then had the audacity to fall asleep in the car on the way to nursery. I was not impressed!!

emblosion I don't recall taking cotton wool with us when I had DS. the hospital even had spare nappies, so I wouldn't worry about it. if you do need it, your DH can go and get some anyway :o I have already taken DH on a tour of sainsburys, pointing out where maternity pads, breast pads, cotton wool, etc are. I figure it's best to show him now rather than expecting him to remember in the hazy aftermath of the birth!!

Well baby is quite wriggly today - think she has moved, as kicks which were on the right hand side of bump are now more on the left, and the lump which I was told was her bum has moved to the side. Hope she doesn't move into too ridiculous a position over the next few weeks, I'd rather like an uncomplicated birth this time if at all possible.

right, think I am going down with a cold (perfect timing!) so I'm off to source something to drink, then will slump at my desk for a few hours. I'm alone in the office today, so suspect productivity will be lower than normal. Just hope my boss doesn't catch me napping :o

Fanbelt · 16/05/2012 09:59

Oh dear, all this talk of snacks... I've been trying to be good and snacking on bagels (low fat) and the like, but gave in to the cravings yesterday and let lose with a Twix, followed by a Toffee crisp, followed by a Twirl - lucky baby! [grins] Have saved the snickers for today Wink.

blondie glad to hear things have settled down for you a bit.

Feeling tired after crappy night's sleep last night so can't remember much of who's said what. But, I like the idea of a full-moon/Jubilee baby. 4th June is day before my due date so you never know - would have to call her Luna Elizabeth or Luna Liz... actually maybe not... bit too much like Looney Liz!

Saw MW yesterday who said that if the docs say it's okay at my 38wk growth scan next week, she'll start doing stretch and sweep from week 39 - assuming LO hasn't arrived by then. Have to say I really don't feel like I'm about to go into labour. She also said I can start drinking raspberry leaf tea etc. if I want to.

Welcome aboard to the new ladies [waves].

AmethystMoon · 16/05/2012 10:27

Oh god that's it I NEED chocolate! Grin
fan belt I'd forgotten about twirls, need to go to a shop... Soon. I've been trying to be healthy too so don't keep chocolate in the house Sad kveta those chocolate fingers sound yummy, might need to track those down tooGrin
mckayz sorry this is not what you want to be reading about Sad I hope your sickness passes soon x
dairy hope you've your bag packed in case DS is right!

McKayz · 16/05/2012 10:30

I seem to be feeling a bit better now. I just had a call from GP saying that it's about 3 weeks until I can see physio but they are going to put my name down for any cancellations. Plus I need to pick up some crutches. That will be fun.

TeaandHobnobs · 16/05/2012 10:46

Haha McKayz, you just reminded me - I had a physio appointment booked because of my SPD, but BabyTea ended up arriving the night before the day of the appointment, so I had to call the physio department in the hospital in the morning from the birth centre to cancel it!
"and what is the reason for cancelling your appointment?"
"well, er, it was an antenatal appointment, and I'm not antenatal anymore!"

McKayz · 16/05/2012 10:52

I hate all forms of needles and medical stuff. But I wish I was having a planned section. One of my MN friends had one yesterday and she knew it would be the 15th May for about 2 months before she had it.
