McKayz · 15/05/2012 11:18

One of the school mums is due 6 days before me and all the others are trying to guess who'll be first. Both on 3rd baby and both of us usually give birth around due date.

We both want to give birth during the first week of June during half term. Then we don't have to worry about school runs.

TeaandHobnobs · 15/05/2012 11:19

Thinking of your MIL Dairy - hope things improve for her soon Thanks

shellywellybaby1 · 15/05/2012 11:36

AmethystMoon · 15/05/2012 11:42

Sending lots of healing vibes to your MIL dairy, hope the docs get her on the mend soon.

MammaInTheMaking · 15/05/2012 12:05

I hope your MIL starts to feel better very soon Dairy.

So I live in Bromley in Kent and this morning the Queen and Prince Phillip have been here on the Jubilee tour!! Would have loved to have gone for a look but am working at home so couldn't sneak out really. How exciting though!

Sleep for me is very broken, toilet trips at least every 2 hours and can only stay in bed for a max of 5 hours. Have been having breakfast at about 5am, up for an hour and then back to bed for about an hour. It's amazing how ok i feel despite the terrible sleep for the last 2 weeks. Anyhow, 36+5 today, i'm gobsmacked that we're all so close now.....

surfmama · 15/05/2012 13:11

hi all diary that sounds a worry, hope they can make her confortable and it passes.

Avoiding tonsilitis - other half has it. have tried to make him take merc sol my homeopathic sugar pill... but he is having none of it! so am just avoiding him hope to god I don't get it as I feel really good at the mo (despite mamma syncing in with you - 2 hours up hips hurt/need wee/drink/food/to take iron)!!

Well - for those that have a witch/hippy element, full moon 4th June and 3rd July, and you know what they say, births are increased during that time so watch out mkc don't want baby falling out on that walk!

Actually here is something I found interesting, a lady I garden with was a midwife in Africa (she is UK trained) and was working albeit 20 years ago - called to a lady who had just had her baby walking along, just popped out, they don't wear clothes just beads. she was called as the placenta wasn't coming out. when she got to her the elder lady with her was dangling beads down her throat to stimulate the gagging reflex, and hey preston, out it came.

Have instructed OH to insert fingers into my throat should this happen, don't think he will oblige!

hello tea how are you feeling?

DairyNips · 15/05/2012 13:22

Thanks for all the well wishes for mil. No more news yet. Still invesigating..

I noticed there was a full moon 4th June, that's 2 days before my due date, never been early though so doubtful Hmm

AmethystMoon · 15/05/2012 13:23

Great story Surf, I'll keep that one up my sleeve of placenta probs GrinI checked full moon dates too a little while ago and am gutted there's not one near my due date (23) bet I end up beginning of July! Good to hear you are feeling well, I trust your amniotic fluid is staying where it should for now? No more trips to St. Richards for now I hope x

blondiedollface · 15/05/2012 13:44

Morning everyone, no BabyBlondie yet (thank God)!!

Slept on top of the spare duvet, with a hot water bottle that I refilled every couple of hours and managed some rest but not much sleep [yawn face] about 5am I noticed the tightenings had stopped, went and had a bath and then managed to sleep until 10am Grin So I have my feet up today, hot water bottle and blanket on the sofa, DH is going to cook the meal I'd arranged to cook for my dad's birthday tonight so that'll be nice! Got an extra check up with the MW on Thurs just to check BP, urine, internal etc so we shall see!

Dairy I hope your mil is alright. My fil is coming home tomorrow from having open heart surgery just 4 weeks ago, he's done really well so I'm sure your mil will be absolutely fine (and as said above, she's in the best place).

Surf That story is crazy!!

Amethyst My family are convinced that if she doesn't come before LO will be a Jubilee Full Moon baby, I've had a peek on the May thread and a fair few of them delivered around the time of the full moon at 38/39 weeks...

Waves to everyone else, too tired to remember anything else for now!! Have a lovely day Xx

rhibutterfly · 15/05/2012 15:16

thanks all.
dairy fingers crossed all goes well for MIL Thanks

McKayz · 15/05/2012 15:31

One of my friends is pregnant. It is her 4th, I saw her this morning and she was asking about having a home birth.

She has silent labour syndrome and she doesn't know she is having contractions until she is about to give birth. No 1 was born in hospital, No 2 born in ambulance in hospital car park and No 3 born in a layby with workmen yelling and jeering.

She was tempted by a water birth but isn't sure if she will have time to fill a pool.

On one hand fast labours sound nice but not having a clue at all must be terrifying.

AmethystMoon · 15/05/2012 16:30

blondie although I'd be overdue a full moon baby would lovely Smile I wonder of any of us will?
mckayz silent labour syndrome!!!!???? Good grief that sounds good and bad all at once... Lovely not noticing contractions but no notice at all! Shock I hope she gets a nice home birth.... Poor her with jeering workmen Sad

Really struggling to get on with my work this afternoon, roll on 31 May woohoo!
shelly! you are brave working until 14th June, I salute you Grin

CathFin · 15/05/2012 17:46

Hello!
Also wondering who will be next, Blondie hope you get better sleep tonight!
Dairy hope your MIL is okay, sounds worrying.
Bad heartburn here, and rather tired, had a busy day though so hopefully I will sleep tonight.
Rhi great news! So glad it all looks fine!

gwenniebee · 15/05/2012 17:58

Blondie glad everything seems to have settled down again and hope you have a lovely birthday for your dad tonight.

Dairy hope you get good news about MIL soon....

McKayz no no no to the jeering workmen! I can think of few things worse!

Ugh I am in a major grumpiness today... finding work really really hard going and just wanted to cry during maths when one little girl kept saying "I just don't get it" and I was thinking WHAT IS THERE TO GET????? IT'S COUNTING IN 50s, 50, 100, 150, 200!!! IT'S NOT HARD!!! but clearly I was not able to explain this sufficiently to her..... bad enough feeling you're doing a rubbish job at the best of times, but everything hurts and I just want to sleep so it did actually make me want to weep!

I'm trying to work out if I'm just being a wimp and need to get a grip, or whether battling it out just so I get full pay through half term is being silly. I don't know... I've never done this before.....!

Whinge over :) I'm off to meet my NCT friends tonight so better cheer up!!

ffnorm · 15/05/2012 18:08

hmmm just googled the full moon,so 4/6 in the evening, will mean we are just back from the wedding on the IOW and I'll be 38+3 (Due 15/6) did however also google the full moons in 2009 and I delivered DS almost half way between...

Dairy hope your MIL is ok Thanks

Warlin I also have a scan tomorrow - will be interesting to see what lo is up too, will be additional reassurance after the fall and I'm hoping she'll be head down!!!

Rhi great news!!

Blondie take it easy!!

emblosion · 15/05/2012 18:30

Hi all, have finally got round to resetting password so can post again! Thanks for updating stats Kveta

23 June is indeed looking popular

Blondie glad things have calmed down, have a lovely meal with your dad.

Dairy best wishes to your mil, hope she's ok.

ffnorm and warlin good luck with scans, I had one on Sat and it was lovely to see the wee one's face, the Doc even printed me out a picture cos I was so happy about it!

McKayz horrified at thought of layby birth/jeering workmen (and indeed, silent labour!)

mama I feel ya with the lack of sleep, I'm up at least twice a night, usually half 2 and half 5. My friend reckons that'll be when baby will wake up for feeds, but that remains to be seen.....

surf I'm liking the idea of a full moon baby, or alternatively a summer solstice baby. 21st June only 2 days before my due date, so its do-able!

Sorry and hello to everyone I've missed

emblosion · 15/05/2012 18:42

Meant to say gab news about the scan rhi

And sending a ((hug)) for tea I think having the baby at home would be stressful under any circumstances, let alone what you guys went through! sounds like you're doing a great job, remember to look after yourself too :)

emblosion · 15/05/2012 18:43

Fab news. Not 'gab' ..... sheesh.

thedogwalker · 15/05/2012 19:20

Hello all
Dairy Hope your MIL gets better soon, sending you and her lots of happy vibes.
Can't recall who mentioned feeling the baby was going to fall out whilst walking, but yes I know how you feel. When I got up this morning, it felt like the LO was right there, that I could have touched him if i'd have had a feel Hmm, iykwim. I had BHs all night and had to spend some of it on all fours as it was the only position I could get any relief.

Hope everyone has had a good day, take care xx

rhihaf · 15/05/2012 21:09

Hello!
Can I join you lovely ladies please? Am due June 17th with my first baby and feeling fat, disgusting and generally hormonal. My friends posted lovely comments on the offending photos on facebook, which actually made me cry.

And I just ate a tub of ice cream, a frozen Caramel, dark chocolate and a big bowl of blitzed raspberries; after eating my supper. Oops! Blush

DairyNips · 15/05/2012 21:12

Welcome rhihafGrin Sounds like you'll fit right in here! Feel free to copy the latest stats list and add yourself.

emblosion · 15/05/2012 21:59

PinkPanther27 · 15/05/2012 22:01

Please can you add me to the stats too, I've been missed off :( PinkPanther 27 2nd dc due on 6th June.
Rhi great news about your scan, worth the long trip. I've got severe baby brain so sorry that i cant remember what everyone posted. Im suffering with lack of sleep too, but its only gonna get worse when baby arrives. Gonna try and have more daytime naps - shame you can't bank sleep!
