ffnorm · 09/05/2012 11:27

Sorry to hear about your fibroid Special hope you aren't feeling to sore now!

I think DH has baby brain Grin just found £160 in his trouser pocket, while doing a load of washing (found it before washing otherwise wouldn't be so amused) hmm me thinks he forgot to pay the nursery...

waves to everyone especially grumpy Dairy

Warlin · 09/05/2012 11:29

Wow I had a lot of posts to catch up on since yesterday!

NL lovely idea and love the line on the stats...just shed a wee tear

ceej congrats on the viva...big relief I'm sure and now you can concentrate on more exciting things Grin

kveta what a great appointment...gosh makes it feel so real when they talk exact dates! Sorry to be stupid but is the estimated weight for now or birth weight?? I have my 36 week apt next week and can't wait.

Cathfin happy birthday to you...maybe LO will put in a appearance and share it with you...!! Just kidding...enjoy the spa break. Sounds fab.

Special poor you, as if you don't have enough to deal with...fibroids must be so painful. Sending you hugs x

I had to make notes whilst reading the posts to produce the above...my pregnancy brain is really bad at the minute so no chance I'd have remembered it all Grin

I'm feeling surprisingly good today...just waiting for the crash though. Was in bed after DH last night for the first time in months and bounced out of bed at 6.30 to take the dog to the beach. It's sunny here and was so nice and peaceful that I could have stayed there all day. Then made it into work with minimal fuss and have had a productive morning. Think the sun is def helping so fully expecting to crash when the rain hits tomorrow :(

My bump is rock hard at the minute too. I am still quite high so hoping it will drop soon. Mind you it's beginning to look less and less likely that I'l get away on mat leave on the 25th....may end up doing a few days from home after that and possibly some interviewing (big sigh).

I have put "predicted to be a boy" too but we have seen the willy so many times on scans so if they tell me it's a girl I will be really concerned!!

DairyNips · 09/05/2012 12:41

Meant to say, special sorry your fibroid has been causing you such pain. Hope it settles down now.. Glad baby is just fine thoughSmile

They said I had a fibroid at my 20 week scan but haven't had any pain from it as yet, in fact I'd just about forgotten about it. Hope it stays that way.

Cathfin sorry I misspelt your nameBlush

blondiedollface · 09/05/2012 12:50

Cathfin Happy Birthday, enjoy your spa trip with DH!

Ceej Well done with your viva :)

Dairy I have days like that, just go with it, you'll soon be less grumpy!!

Special Hope your pain has subsided somewhat today and you're feeling better, get spinning that baby round :)

Warlin Enjoy your good days! I don't get enough of them so when I have them I revel in feeling normal Grin

MW appt this morning went really well, LO is fully engaged, I've stayed the same measurement as she's dropped so low and my cervix has started to thin!!! I am telling her to wait the 2 weeks until 37 weeks, but MW said she is already a good size (and by my calculations I'm a week ahead anyway). My iron levels are low for the first time ever, but they've put me straight on tablets so hopefully that'll sort me out :)

It's actually getting very exciting thinking that sometime in the next few weeks LO could be making an appearance...

Warlin · 09/05/2012 13:31

Wow blondie how exciting! LO fully engaged...it really could happen anytime. I'm dying for another dr appointment but have to wait another week.

I'm going to leave work early today as I don't feel great now...I knew it wouldn't last! My heartburn is awful and I walked to the shop to get a drink....started getting sharp pains low down in my bump and actually had to hold under it to feel more comfortable...wonder if that is baby dropping or possibly engaging?? I'm scared to get up and move around now as it hurts!

blondiedollface · 09/05/2012 13:43

Warlin I've been holding my bump for a few weeks and however much it hurts at first I found the best thing was to stand up move about a bit and rock forward/back and side to side... Sharp pains are usually you/your body not LO, the most movement I've felt from LO has been actually on my cervix, like a really heavy period ache...

HTH and enjoy your afternoon off - chill out and relax yourself, have a nice bath!

Xx

Smallwonder · 09/05/2012 16:15

special good that you're not stressing about it, that's the main thing, staying relaxed is so important so well done to u :)
dairynips it's ok to be grumpy. Read a great quote the other day "those why mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind" :) we can do grumpy at this stage with no hard feelings.
ffnorm that was lucky, good job it was discovered pre-wash!
warlin hope you're resting now and ok. Take it easy. Let us know how u r.
blondie it's all happening with baby blondie I think :o exciting indeed, should I start putting some money on this? Hmmm next June baby maybe, whoop!
tdw hope your days are going well. Any news from OH?

Caught a mole on my back, was agony (when dressing) looked in mirror discovered huge patch of strangely discoloured skin. Freaked out totally. Had mw appt thankfully, she didn't know what it was, GP said likely hot water bottle rash! Was shocked. Going to take it easy on that now but really does help -- oh well.
Baby textbook measurements so likely to be same as its siblings, is currently breech!!! Thus explains uncomfyness and the day recently that I thought something weird was happening. As am c-sec we will not worry. Also explains why am getting punched n kicked and not just the latter!

I slept most of the afternoon I think, feel totally lethargic, have gotten up for a bit will snack and return to bed. How I'm going to cope with dc I don't know. Hoping that iron was up today but have a hunch it's not.
So mrs happy will be off now! X happy vibes all around X

Fanbelt · 09/05/2012 17:15

Haven't been on MN for a few days - busy over the bank holiday weekend etc. - and somehow I've missed 6 pages of comments. So hope everyone is doing okay. I've now got an evening of catching up with you all!

I'm okay apart from horrible SPD but had a physio appt this afternoon where she did some manipulation and hopefully when it stops feeling so sore, that'll help. Also at MW appt this morning I had a 'trace' of protein in my wee but as everything else is fine (BP, FHR, oedema etc.) I'm not too worried... yet. Got another MW appt booked for next Tuesday so she can keep an eye on it.

gwenniebee · 09/05/2012 18:54

Good evening all! Just thought I'd pop by and say hi although I don't really have anything interesting or amusing to contribute tonight...!
Cathfin - happy birthday! Hope you have enjoyed your day :)
Special - Ouch! Well done for not stressing though.... I'd be all over the stress but that's just me Wink as I could stress about a paper bag if I tried.
Warlin - glad you had a good morning and hope your heartburn has settled :(
Small - glad you managed to get your mind put at rest re skin so quickly. I have a mole on my back which has got huouge since I got pg which stressed me (see above!) considerably. However dr says just normal so all ok :)
Fanbelt - SPD sounds horrid :( Hope the physio has helped.

My heartburn made me sick again last night. Ugh. It's disgusting. Also am muchly knackered!

Anyway DH has just appeared at door with curtain rails so better go and show some interest!! :)

thedogwalker · 09/05/2012 19:45

Hi all
Poor you Gwennie being sick through heartburn, hope you have a better night tonight.
Small, my days are going fine, thanks for asking. DH will be home in just over 20 days and I cannot wait. LO has to remain in until then, no eviction notices from me just yet Grin. I also find chocolate or cake help me cope with my tired day, so stock up on some to try and stop the lethargy Smile, plus they taste bloomin good.
Warlin, hope your pain had subsided, I think I get something similar first thing in a morning, when I first try and get out of bed, the stabbing pains in the lower partof the bump is not very nice, but getting up and moving really does help relieve the pain.
Blondie Whoop whoop, you must be odds on favourite to be next Grin.

I have finally started to pack my hospital bag, just got drinks and snacks to buy and put in there. Sorted out all of DS1's old clothes and sorted them into size order so that this LO can use them. Re-jigged the drawers and now everything is ready for LO. All I need now is to buy LO's coming home outfit, I've seen a few but have been so undecided about them, best choose soon.

Got home visit by MW tomorrow and she wants to go through my birth plan. I've just used the one from DS1 [cheat] Grin.
Hope everyone has had a good day, take care xx

rachyroodle · 09/05/2012 23:17

Thought I would pop in and say hi and then add myself to the big list!

Blondie Very exciting news. Maybe there will be a baby really soon. Scares me a bit as you are due after me :)

Dairynips Sorry but not surprised to hear you are grumpy. I definitely have my grumpy days at the moment. Have to have a chat with the bump to cheer myself up and remember what this is all about. Either that or have a kit kat chunky!

Gwennie and Smallwonder hope you are both feeling better and take it easy with the hot water bottle!

Ceeej or should I say Dr Ceeej well done for the Viva!!! I can hardly manage a shopping list at the moment so am impressed you could hold your own in such a difficult interview situation. Sure you will get the result you want.

Not much news from here as am just recovering from a nasty cold. DH is away in Munich with work and I have been indulging myself with my slightly embarrassing love of trashy tv and a nice warm bath!

Hope all is good with all of you. There was so much to read this time. Forgot to say...so so jealous of the spa day Cathfin sounds an amazing birthday treat!

CathFin · 10/05/2012 07:08

Ceeej - well done on the viva!

Small - never heard of water bottle rash before! Hope it gets better soon!

Warlin - my pelvis really hurts when I walk - very ouchy yesterday, although I think walking is meant to help them turn if they are breech so I need to try and get out there - having a lump in a pram to push doesn't really help!

Gwennie - I ended up with a mouth full of bile the other night - grim. Also gagged so much the other morning I finally had my first preg vom - typical. Think baby position must be making it worse.

Special - ouch to the fibroids - hope it doesn't get worse.

Have told my DD that I'm away tomorrow and she is not impressed - that's the only problem with being around so much - they don't like you having any time off!

Smallwonder · 10/05/2012 09:00

Morning ladies :o I for one am very glad it is the morning after a restless night and much in the way of throwing up activity -- tis the 10th and I am counting my life away at the moment, measuring it out in spoons, sigh....
3 weeks and a few days to go...
rachy sounds like well deserved indulgence! :o
cath ohhhh at DD! Well she had her time with daddy and now it's your time with a friend :) my lot stand at the door waving with 'bring something nice' 'don't be long' etc. if DH is around he entertains them now while I leave so I avoid the drama. I know exactly what you mean!
Think I'll be lazy today Blush back to the grind tomorrow.
Come on u lot, where r u all?

DairyNips · 10/05/2012 09:12

Morning allSmile

Peeing it down here, what a miserable day!

Got my 36wk check with the midwife at 2. Am pleased as dh can come along this time which is always nice. Might be the midwife app he attends with me ever with this being the last dc!

To those of you still working, hope the last few days/ weeks fly by!

Just finished sharing my cereal with the boys. It doesn't matter what they have, I always have to pour myself a bigger bowl than I need cause they steal half of it!Grin

McKayz · 10/05/2012 09:12

Just popping in to say morning. Terrible sleep last night as DS2 was in my bed when I went up and I couldn't be bothered to move him. Cue starfish sleeping from him.

Got 34 week MW appointment in half an hour. Can't be arsed to walk there.

DairyNips · 10/05/2012 09:13

'Might be the last midwife app'

DairyNips · 10/05/2012 09:14

Mckayz Sorry you had a crap sleep: hope your midwife app goes well.

Kveta · 10/05/2012 09:32

hi all.

also a crap night here. I was cramping so badly, and actually ended up crying from it, no amount of walking around the house or changing position in bed was doing anything, and poor DH was not sleeping well due to me being so restless. Was getting to the stage I was thinking 'is this labour beginning?' then Blush I may have done the biggest fart ever Blush and the cramping stopped Hmm. So now I know not to panic if I get cramping again, but maybe to vacate the room first Blush. Finally got to sleep around 5, then DS emerged at 5.30, so not much in the way of sleep.

anyway, feeling very faint here, and also sick (heartburn sick - what a fecking delight that is! gwennie how are you coping with it?), so am staying home today, and will be going back to bed once I've figured out what to eat. I'm ravenous, but absolutely nothing appeals.

On the plus side, I have less than 5 weeks left of this. Then it's the 'feeling like a train has hit me' bit for a few weeks, then hopefully back to relative normality, with an extra dose of waking up every hour to feed a squealing baby. One of my friends told me at the weekend that any baby who isn't sleeping through by 6 weeks is just because the parents are not trying hard enough Hmm because her DS was sleeping through by then. She is TTC #2 at the moment, and I am not at all vindictively slightly wishing a bad sleeper on her this time. Oh, and 2 of my september 09 friends are expecting in January 2013 - so exciting, although terrifying that there are already babies due in 2013. Where has the time gone?!

sorry you had a crap night McKayz and hope both your and Dairy's midwife appts go well today!

right, off to bed I think.

Warlin · 10/05/2012 09:37

Morning all

Sorry for the lack of sleep mckayz and others.

I feel wrecked today...the pains subsided yesterday but didn't get to leave work early as was so busy...really frustrating me as can't see when I can get away and have already had to commit to couple extra days after I finish. Wish I could just go on the sick or something but I couldn't do that...grrr...would love to be off. Amd def finding it tough now though...bump is so heavy and I keep getting pains. Woke this morning with my back killing me. DH dreamt about the baby and how he was bonding with it and didn't want to let to. Was really sweet to hear :)

Peeing down here too...such depressing weather. When is summer going to arrive???

Fan hope the SPD gets a bit better, that must be awful. I don't have it and my pelvis is sore enough!

I'm with you small", money on blondie to be the next June baby to pop Grin Sounds like she's dying to get out into the world! Smal* hope the sickness settles.

Need to start focussing on 2 more weeks of work...have no idea how I am going to make it through when each day feels like a marathon!

Did anyone hear about the tragic story that happened last night....a mother and her 9 day old baby fell from the Stranraer to Belfast ferry. They found the woman who is ok, but are still searching for the baby..so so tragic :( Made me so so grateful that my LO is still safe inside

Hope everyone has a good day

Warlin · 10/05/2012 09:40

kveta that post made me laugh so hard :) Must have been severe trapped wind....how funny!!

CathFin · 10/05/2012 09:40

Small - luckily the DC will be at playschool when I leave so there will be no amateur dramatics.
DS didn't nap yesterday so he had the more incredible tantrum at bedtime, will advise DH to let him have a sleep if poss tomorrow as everyone will get very stressed out otherwise!

Kveta - I had a really random cramp last night - down the side of my calf, think its because I have been sticking my legs out of the duvet because I'm too hot and instead my leg got cold enough to decide to spasm. Ouch.

McKayz - also not sure whether to walk to mw at 11am - looking quite like it will rain again here.

Kveta · 10/05/2012 09:43

Cath we have been having some delightful tantrums here too. Last night it was 'I want an apple!' so I gave him an apple, which was followed by 'NOT WANT AN APPLE!' and screaming. Also 'not coat on!' in the pissing rain (so ended up carrying him, rugby ball style, from nursery to the car, which did me no good at all. And 'I want giraffe in the bath!' which was a WTF one, as I have no idea what giraffe he was on about Hmm

toddlers...

IN MEMORY:
Merryn, beloved daughter of Greengoose

Feel sorry for those of you suffering from heartburn/cramp/lack of sleep. It all sounds horrible, especially the heartburn 'til you're sick. We do put up with a lot but hopefully it'll be worth it in the end. At least there is an end in sight - that's what I'm telling myself with the SPD. I've been assured it'll ease off after the LO is born - couldn't bear the thought of trying to hobble around in agony and look after a newborn (and other 2 DC).

Just trying to plan DS1's birthday party but it's difficult knowing I could go at any time. He wants a sleep-over so we planning it for Friday 25th May after school - cinema, pizza and then sleep-over for 5 excitable little boys. All parents are being warned that they may be phoned at any time during the day/night to come and collect their boys if I go into labour. We do want to make it special for DS1 - don't want him to feel he's missing out just 'cos of the new baby.

Hope all MW appts go okay for you all. We're windy and overcast here - no rain yet. But I'm pretty much housebound anyway! Confused

McKayz · 10/05/2012 11:02

Well that was pants!!

There was a student MW which was fine. Except she did my blood pressure through my sleeve and got 180/120 which sent me into a panic thinking I was about to be put in an ambulance. Normal MW said that as I felt ok, urine was fine and no swelling we would do BP again after they checked baby's hearbeat, postions etc.

So then student MW said head was in my ribs and bum was in my hip and I was measuring 38cm. Then normal MW had a check and she says head is in my hip and bum is in my ribs. So baby is transverse and seems to be ignoring everything I try to get her to budge.

BP ended up ay 110/70 which is slightly less terrifying.

I don't mind student MWs at all but I wish they wouldn't scare me like that!!!

SpecialJK · 10/05/2012 11:35

kveta your post made me laugh and scowl all at the same time. I'm sure I've experienced some of that 'cramping' myself Smile, but I think I would have told your friend to stick it up her a*se thanked your friend for her useful advice.

All been better last day or so, no more pain, lots of movement. MW said yesterday that baby was head down also, but not quite back to back, a bit diagonal facing outwards if you know what I mean? 2 hours of weeding at the weekend should hopefully sort it. Got asked about my birth plan too yesterday, which I really need to jot down on some paper so I remember.
