They didn't listen to the hb at my 16 wk appt either far for exactly the same reasons. So lovely you are at 16 weeks already, have you told many people yet?

Afternoon all.

I went to my booking in appointment this morning. All routine really, got a HUGE pack of stuff to read, and my big blue folder. I was expecting a little book or something, but it seems I get to carry all my pg related NHS notes around with me. I guess it's cheaper than an integrated computer system, and safer than NHS mail.

Working from home this afternoon to try and get some work done, but so far the plan is failing. I'm prepared some slow cooked chicken with garlic and parsley, and got that started, done some washing, and read MN so far. Still more than I'd have got done in work, just the wrong sort of productivity :)

I've developed a really sore hip/back. It's a strange pain, like it's caused by my hip but I feel it in my back. I get it whenever I do something off balance to the left, like leaning over with my left foot forwards slightly, standing on my left leg, or yesterday while putting the washing basket (empty) down to my left. Oh, and every time I take the hand brake off in the car! It goes quite quickly afterwards, but can leave me limping for a while, and is really sore. Midwife gave me a leaflet for a physio to call, so I'll do that later. Just wondering - anyone else had something similar?

I have just 1w 2d till my 12w scan.. I wonder if counting down the days will make it go quicker than counting up to 12w?

musical glad you're home and well, Isabelle is a lovely name.
jen I hope things get moving for you soon.
wants are you away having your baby now?
Far so nice to hear you're doing well, showing and feeling movement! I can't wait for that stage :)
smegs I'm glad you enjoyed your hen night out, though hope you get some sleep soon.
ninja sounds like you had a nice holiday with decent weather.. I'm a little jealous Wink

Hello all of you pregsters

Loving the flutterings and growing bumps a la Far - you must be absolutely glowing. So excited for you, Far - you've had a v tough journey to get to this lovely place.

Feeling it for Smegs. We went with an independent midwife and were blessed with a wonderful first birth. It is £3-4K (although our midwife denied we owed her the last 1K mysteriously so cost us only £2.2K despite trying hard to pay the full whack). It's a lot of cash but actually I decided it was a good thing to do with savings that had been earned suffering a lot of fools in an office for years.... The fact you've been offered counselling is a good sign though. And btw I don't think it's just you; I think it is 'them' too, in that the system is bursting at the seams and can't look after birthing women properly imho.

Stacks - do you think it's sciatica? I had similar pains when I was pg1 and beginning to feel the odd twinge now although as I'm only 7wks it's hardly noticeable. The main thing is to keep stretching. Pregnancy yoga is a great help even at this early stage. Although if it gets really serious you may need more than stretching, of course. Can't wait for your 12wk scan - so exciting.

Ninja - back just in time for some nice warm weather here - well done! How are you feeling etc? Am a little unsure how pg you are but I think you're well past the midway mark...

Wants and Jen - brooking no argument for that big sneeze and I have the feather duster at the ready to tickle you into full labour, just give the nod.

Nice weekend at Tock Towers. DS is now sleeping in his little bed as of Saturday night. DP was cunning and reversed the design so that the based is on the floor and not raised a few inches. DS loves it and has slept well although is still getting up too early. Feel so pleased with our lovely little man - he really does take a lot in his stride. He has also been telling me that he wants a baby in his tummy - our childminder is pg; v helpful prep for when I start to get a bump.

Have an early scan on Weds. Not sure if it's a good idea really as I don't want any scares. DP thought it would be good to go and have a peek at the tiny-tockbean but now it looks like he's too busy to come. Typical. Apart from hearing rather too many upsetting MC stories, I feel v well. Large appetite is particularly encouraging. No other symptoms really although I was shattered y'day eve.

If it's twins can I call them Tick and Tock?! Grin

NinjaChipmunk · 21/05/2012 13:14

hello stacks glad to hear it all went well with booking in, the scan will come round quick, don't worry! I sometimes get a twinge in my lower back/ hip if I do something just off balance. Hasn't developed into anything but certainly can't hurt to give a physio a call. I'm not being hugely productive either, but I am quite enjoying it!

Tick and Tock would be awesome! Your ds sounds v sweet, moving to a bed can be quite a big deal for some of them I think. But don't you think they look so sweet and small in a big bed?
And brilliant your childminder is pg too, is she far along? It will be a really nice way of getting him used to what is happening. My ds likes to come and cuddle my bump and he often talks to it and rubs it. I'm 35 weeks on weds so its quite a considerable bump at this stage!
Ooh the estate agent has just phoned and we're off to view a house tomorrow evening! Just waiting to hear about viewing 2 two others as well. I just need to organise a meeting with mortgage advisors now (the boring money part dammit).

clickingtock · 21/05/2012 13:37

Oh wow Ninja - I didn't realise quite how bumpy your bump is. How wonderful. My childminder is about a month behind you I think. Due end of July and is hoping for a planned CS after ECS 5 years ago. Good luck with the househunting. A bit of an exhausting time but lovely too. Keep us updated!

Yes - DS is adorably small in his big bed. He also put me to bed in it and gave me some toys to sleep with. Just love him to bits, even at 4.40am when I did have to soothe him a little - bad dream, I think - but he went straight back to sleep. He is 2y3mo today. I think my pg hormones are settling in hence my gooiness. Grin

NinjaChipmunk · 21/05/2012 13:51

my ds is 4.7 and i'm still super gooey over him!

OP posts:
Stacks · 21/05/2012 13:57

I can't wait to have a DC to be gooey over. I love my DN to bits, but don't see him nearly enough. He's so adorable all the time, even when driving my sister up the wall :) He know's he's cute, so when he doesn't want to sleep he'll get up and ask for a cuddle so politely.

I love kids. Anyone's and everyone's.

clickingtock · 21/05/2012 14:00

Well - you are both lovely mums, that's clear to me! (Stacks - your DC is still on the inside but that doesn't mean you aint a mummy!) xxx

NinjaChipmunk · 21/05/2012 14:05

I'm getting fed up of this period pain now. I've had it off and on for weeks now Angry

Wants3 · 21/05/2012 14:47

Hello all, sorry for the radio silence but things sort of went a bit mad and I had no time to update before going to hospital and no Internet access once we were there! Any way we are now back at home with Dexter Leo who was born Sunday night at 9.37pm weighing in at 8lbs 2oz:) he's beginning to stir now so I will come back and tell the whole birth story( if anyone is interested) at a later date.

jenfraggle · 21/05/2012 14:48
