Morning everyone
I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend so far. I never get a chance to post on here very much but I do have a nosey and try to keep up with everyone's news.
We had our scan yesterday and it was wonderful, baby actually looks like a baby and has changed so much from the little jellybean it was just over 4 weeks ago. Baby measured 12weeks and 5 days, edd 4th of Nov, so as of tomorrow I will be in the second trimester
.
We got to see baby wriggling about, and he/she just wasn't for staying still long enough to get accurate measurements, so I was asked to go and empty my bladder to see of that would help (what a relief that was). We saw baby opening and closing his/her mouth, putting one hand behind their head relaxing and putting one hand to his/her forehead a if it was all too much performing for us
. It was such a lovely experience and we were given 5 pictures and they are all really clear.
We spent most of yesterday letting extended family and friends know our news, and went to a pram centre where a close friend of mine works to buy a little babygro. It was really funny because as we walked into the shop my friend said jokingly "have you got something to tell me?" and when we said yes she couldn't quite believe it, I've never had so many cuddles in one day as I did yesterday.
We are off to a baby show today, I'm very excited and I hope to get more of an idea of some of the things we would like to buy for this little baby, it seems the perfect opportunity to test things out. I also need to get some new bras and some big comfortable pants
I watched this morning, and there was a feature from Dr Robert Winston and he was talking about a new series of DVDs, about various different aspects of baby care, I think I may order them for dh, as he is more of a practical man and prefers to be shown things rather than rely on information from books. I think he is feeling a tad overwhelmed, as although this is our first baby. I have worked with children for over 12 years, and he is worried that he won't be able to look after a baby .
