Ditto Bluebell DP is just making me something else to eat.... sigh... that weight will be going back on before I know it!

Although, that would make me happy, because it would mean I have stopped feeling/being sick!

Hi ladies. Another new thread already?! I've still got to catch up on the old one but hope you are all doing ok?

Well I had my booking appointment yesterday and I've got a lovely midwife. She dated me at 9 weeks so EDD has now moved forward to 14/11/2012.

I have been put down for consultant-led care at the moment because there is a bit of history of blood disorders in my family. As well as getting a scan appointment in the post in the next week or so I will also get an appointment to see a consultant. They will then do some tests and if I'm classed as low risk they will change me back to midwife-led care and I would then have the option of having the baby at home.

I still haven't told anyone. It seems the wrong timing with my cousin still so ill.
He has had a very rough few days and been given blood transfusions, bone marrow, oxygen, morphine and is on four lots of antibiotics. On top of the leukaemia he has got pneumonia and another bacterial infection all over his lungs.

They were reluctant to start chemo while he has the infections but they said if they didn't then he would be dead within 3-7 days Sad so they have started the first course today. Waiting to hear how it has gone and have been in floods of tears today.

Trying to stay positive but it's very hard at the moment. My little bean is keeping me going though.

YellowWellies Stilton is a hard cheese so it should be okay. Check the NHS website if you're not sure. Or make sure it's cooked, I have had gorgonzola pizza, steak with Stilton sauce and Brie in breadcrumbs all guilt-free!

Little9 the bra-fitting lady at John Lewis said all the boob changes happen in the first trimester so hopefully that pain will die down with the nausea pretty soon.

Oh apple huge hugs. That sounds truly awful. He must be seriously poorly for them to consider chemo but there sounds like no choice. I really hope he's ok. Cancer is so horrible I work with it daily but people amaze me with their strength to battle on!

Last night I had some pinky discharge (sorry tmi) before I went to bed. I was worried sick all night. I have woken up and my back is really sore. This is not a good sign is it? The spotting seems to have stopped. Should I do anything? Thank you x

Donna I went in for new bras and got three lovely ones for £51 total that should fit until the end of my pregnancy. They fit them on the loosest setting do there's a bit of room for pregnancy weight gain comfort. She also recommended wearing a bra at night for support so I might buy a sleep bra of needed. Then I'm to go back at about 37 weeks for nursing bras.

I found it to be an excellent service and well worth it for getting comfortable well-fitting bras. I don't want to get saggy boobs cos I'm sure the ligaments around them are more likely to stretch between the increased size and the relaxin hormone. In other news 36F Blush. DH is pleased Grin

Jenbird you can phone your EPU or out of hours GP or you can go to a&e if you're worried.

I would def phone mw or epau. There's no point worrying unnecessarily I'm sure everything is fine but I would go if I were in that situation.

I wondered why everyone stopped posting. Then scrolled down and saw the link to the new thread Blush

Shoulder pain lessened slightly and I got a better nights sleep but I'm feeling really grumpy. I have a Birthday cake to bake and lunch for all the inlaws (who still don't know). Just want to cancel it and know DSS1 would be just as happy with a big bag of crisps and the sweets I'm putting in the cake just in a pile.

Still must keep up appearances/stay vaguely sociable/keep the free babysitters on side. This will be the first big family lunch we've hosted where I won't be drinking and am pondering how teetotallers tune out MIL witterings.

Thanks Stuntnun. Was wondering whether to look for new bras as mine I think are slightly on the tight side. Think I'll wait a few weeks to see if all ok at 12 week scan and to see if that's them finished growing.

Apple got everything crossed for your cousin. Hope he gets better soon.

Passmethecrisps · 15/04/2012 11:22

apple I am sorry about your cousin. Maybe your family needs a bit of good news?

I went bra shopping yesterday as I am finding myself with a dwindling number to wear. I went to M&S and picked up a pack of two wireless ones in the same cup size but bigger middle.
I looked at the next cup size but I refuse to believe I am that much bigger. The ones I bought were 2 for £14 so no biggy if they don't last.

Yesterday I had only mild nausea later in the evening than usual - 8pm
Rather than about 4. Was nice to be able to enjoy an evening. However, had the inevitable worries then about something being wrong etc - never happy!!!

Ah Apple your poor cousin and you and your family, what a horrible thing to be going through. Thinking of you.

My sickness doesn't seem to be quite so debilitating these last couple of days, but the sheer exhaustion! Argh I can barely lift my head off the pillow! Only just woken up too. Wish I didn't have to do work today!

Im so grateful theres no school run for the next week either, although I bet my 2 are desperate to go back as it must be so boring for them at home at the mo!

Poor Apple can't imagine how stressful & upsetting it all is. Best wishes to you all.

Good news from the scan West.

Sickness is more manageable but this worries me!!

My boobs are far less painful than with DD but imagine that's to do with them already being 'stretched' out once!! As I lost quite a bit of weight at the same time as stopping the breastfeeding, I don't think the reduced duct size was replaced with fat, so boobs are currently just swelling back up to my lovely, full, round, perk pre-baby 32DD size. I will be going to John Lewis this time tor bra fitting as think they're a bit better than M&S but have a load of maternity & feeding bras from both shops from first time, so ho

Wow - thread number four already? I have my scan on Thursday 19/04 andI will be about 11 and a half weeks though the dating is a little funny on mine for the moment.

I've been so neurotic crampy this will actually be my 4th scan so far.

Other than a few cramps and knackerdness I still haven't had any morning sickness or other symptoms so I'm hoping I'll have got away with another morning sickness free pregnancy :)

Yes, you can hate me for that... but I make up for it in nervousness and general narkiness.

Thanks for the kind messages.

jenbird have you called the midwife? I would probably get checked out just to be on the safe side.

My biggest concern before my booking appointment was that they would tell me off for being overweight but to my amazement my weight is within the normal range so I was pleased with that. I must have lost a few pounds when I had bad MS a few weeks ago. So there are some perks Smile

Report
PetiteRaleuse · 15/04/2012 12:31

I've already started piling on the pounds - I have sugar cravings well I always do whether or not pregnant
Last time round I put on heaps in the first trimester, slowed down in the second then put none on in the third. I'm hoping it'll be something like that this time round as my OB GYN is an absolute bastard stickler for weight gain.

Mmmmmm cooked blue cheese. Stuntnun you are a goddess. Poor DH we're off to the supermarket in a bit to get me cooked blue cheese dishes - he doesn't know it yet. Grin

Jenbird any news? Give the hospital a call if you are worried, am sure they'll give you a reassurance scan.

Apple I second Passmethecrisps idea - perhaps your family would really appreciate some joyful good news at this time? Lots of love to your family it must be horrific. We've just had the all clear from DSiL who had pretty advanced bowel cancer - it's such a scary time but modern medicine is wonderful so don't lose hope xx
