I don't feel so left out now Grin I thought it was only me.

The midwife said I should get it in the post by the end of this week. I bloody hope so.

So sorry about the news Kat

Well my sickness comes and goes now rather than being a constant companion! My belly is getting quite big, but it's all flab and no baby Blush, when I sit down I get the (almost) 2 belly thing with a belly button hole in the middle, I must look quite disgusting at the moment Envy

Also on the spot front, OMG! I've not had pimples like this since I was 14, what's all that about, little yellow heads that randomly appear overnight, can't believe it. Something else I'm not looking forward to is having to give in and give hubby a pity shag, I've not done it sober since last time I was pregnant (8 years ago), although sat here now, I've no idea how he's going to get it in because it feels constantly swollen shut these days (fingers crossed).

Glory moment of the day for me so far, I passed something bigger than rabbit shit today YAY ME, I was so proud when I looked the toilet to see what I had achieved, I almost had a lump in my throat :)

Really hate the "looking fat without a good reason, like you've let yourself go" stage that comes before the bump!! It's worse this time because its def happening earlier than with DD. Couldn't have given a monkeys about being fat with DD either, but only because by the time I showed, everyone knew iyswim. Thankfully still fitting ny work clothes, but for how much longer??!! Hmm

Thought Envy was less yesterday, began to worry, so my body kindly assisted & I threw up twice in the evening. New pg record for me!!! Just hope it stays settled today, as I seem to coping ok so far with boiled sweets etc but I'm teaching until 3.15 now so can't exactly hide any up-chucking between now & then!!!

Really can't be arsed to DTD at the mo but DH is getting a bit desperate, so might have to do that same as you Shelley & chuck him a 'pity shag'...

Oh god, I'm dreading it! He's not had it since a few days after we made the babs!

My MUM actually said to me when I was pregnant first time round, 'there's more than one way to please him, you've got hands haven't you' LOL Grin I was moaning to her expecting her to roll her eyes and say something sisterly, but no!

Hello everyone! Sorry, i haven't been in here for ages - just been feeling too sick and miserable to contemplate anything! But am having quite a good day today (although I am now paranoid that means something is wrong because I am only 8+5, sigh).

Cannot wait for the second trimester, I have been so miserable the last few weeks - constantly sick and cooped up with a cross 2yo. Urgh. I've told Dh I am not having another after this one.

By the way, blue cheese fans - just checked the nhs site and stilton is allowed because it is a hard cheese! Hooray.

No scan date here yet, but have booking in on weds.

fruitsalad I had exactly the same thing this morning. Woke up feeling really well and "normal" and spent the whole approx. 2 hours it lasted panicking it was because something had gone wrong. Was actually happy to feel sick again! Next time, I am determined to enjoy it while it lasts!

I've been feeling better, i'm 9 weeks tomo. Def had more energy over the weekend, but today I feel really really tired. I'm def going to the toilet less, but I'm still having a few issues with food. The things that I can eat are becoming less and less every day. I have just gone off fish and chicken. Cant eat potatoes or chips, white rice makes me bloated. I have one boob that is a killer at night time. Really need to invest in sleep bras.

horseylady it's so hard to loose a loved one and especially at the minute it must be so tough on you! I really hope you and your family get through tomorrow Thanks

I was thinking of scans and wondering are any of you ladies going to start buying/getting and bits or things you will need?

Report
Thechick · 16/04/2012 15:44

I'm not sure on the buying front, I don't think any time soon, maybe after the 20 week scan. I don't really have the urge to do any buying at the mo, I'm sure that will change once I start feeling kicks and have a proper bump. Im quite a laid back person anyways, I didn't have my bag packed before i went into labour last time, lol.

Report
applepieinthesky · 16/04/2012 15:54

I will definitely start buying after the scan if all is well.

Have any of you heard of the mothercare babyplan or used it before?
You choose all the bits and pieces you want, pay a 10% deposit now then have six months to pay the balance. They don?t charge any interest and then once it?s all paid for you get all the stuff delivered at the same time and delivery is free.

I?m considering it as it sounds so much easier than having to go round all the different shops and then I would know exactly how much I have to pay and could just pay a set amount each month when I get paid and not have to worry about anything. The only downside is Mothercare are not the cheapest but it sounds so hassle-free. Hmm..

Report
Thechick · 16/04/2012 15:58

That sounds like a good deal. I'm completely out of the loop as to what makes are good or not. When I was pregnant with ds 13 years ago I'm sure mothercare was reasonably priced. Really wouldn't know where to start.

NervousAt20 · 16/04/2012 15:59

Oh I havent heard of that apple then again I don't no an awful lot about baby shops and stuff but learning lol :) It does sound so hassle free if they have what you want

Think I would like to buy things aswell but no clothes as we're going to find out the sex I want to wait an buy things in the appropriate colour so will have to wait for alot of stuff

FruitSaladIsNotPudding · 16/04/2012 16:03

Hmm, mothercare is vv expensive. For big things like prams you are much better shopping around online. And John Lewis do better (and cheaper!) clothes/blankets/moses baskets etc.

Report
applepieinthesky · 16/04/2012 16:04

I wouldn't call Mothercare expensive but I know how cheap you can buy things online. I buy almost everything online.

nervous - I'm also waiting until 20 weeks to buy clothes for the same reason as you. Lemons and creams don't appeal to me.

Report
FruitSaladIsNotPudding · 16/04/2012 16:10

Yes, expensive if probably the wrong word. Bad value perhaps.

I won't buy anything until after 12 week scan at least, although I have already got down dd's old baby stuff to go through. It all looks so tiny now!

Report
Tiago · 16/04/2012 16:13

I already have a pram/pushchair becasue my father liberated it from a repossession house many months ago (he has the subtelty [sp?] of a brick). I will not be purchasing anything else until after the 20 week scan (although I have been doing some investigating to see where is affordable. So far I think sproglet's clothing will be coming from Primark, and furniture from the charity shop.

NCT nearly new sales are excellent Tiago, for clothes and baby equipment. I love them! Although you do need sharp elbows ;-)

Report
applepieinthesky · 16/04/2012 16:24

On second thoughts perhaps I will sit down and work out approximately how much I need for everything, divide it by 6 months, put the money aside and get bits as and when I see them.

I just know I need to be organised and have some kind of plan otherwise it will get to a couple of months before and I will still have the most expensive items left to buy and then i?ll panic.

I keep getting really violent static shocks at work. I've googled and most places say its nothing to worry about, but I don't like it. You can hear the crack when I touch metal things like door and forks and I can feel it all over my body!! It happens two or three times a day.

I was thinking about going to an nct nearly new sale. Do you have to be a member to go?

There are loads of threads in the pg section Apple that might help you work out what you need.

I signed up to every baby club going, got all my bounty vouchers & shopped around online too. We also bought our travel system at the baby show at Excel (in Feb & Oct every yr I think) as we could see lots of yhe internet only ones 'in the flesh' plus saved 10% by buying it on the day.

Chunkychicken · 16/04/2012 16:38

P.s. you don't need most of the stuff they suggest on the Mothercare Babyplan either... In fact, most stuff you end up re-thinking within a few days of baby's arrival!!! Confused
