Hello ladies! I can't wait to see how many No Brooking babies arrive during the course of this thread!! Do you realise we have now filled SEVEN threads (and that's just the graduates!) That's 7000 posts and counting!

Let's all get settled in for some serious No Brooking, we have a lot of painless sneeze births to get through over the next couple of weeks!

Biscuitsandtea · 22/03/2012 17:23

Does your DH actually perform marriage ceremonies then if he's a registrar Scream?

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 22/03/2012 17:29

Biscuits don't worry about it, my Nan is definitely a little crazy - that's where I get it from! Grin DH does conduct weddings, along with other Registrar-type duties like civil partnerships etc. I think it's great because he heads off to work in yummy suits everyday (I'm a sucker for a guy in a nice suit!)

By the way, all this talk of sitting around watching tv with toddlers whilst eating sugary treats - is the toddler a prerequisite for this behaviour? That pretty much sums up most of my days... ahem Blush

Hi all! Sorry I haven't posted in forever, but I've been reading all your posts regularly! I apologise in advance for all the people I miss out...

Too, Maia is absolutely gorgeous! :) Though I know you know that. Hurrah for her wonderful weight too!

Fishcake, sorry you're struggling so much with aches and pains. My bump is slowly creeping up to my boobs, and I'm beginning to wonder what's happened to my organs too...

scarlet, I'm having exactly the same problem with sleeping. I've also done the going downstairs at about 4am thing. The thing I'm finding worst at he moment is going to work on just a couple of hours' sleep.. luckily I only have one full week left so hopefully I'll get through. Let me know if you think of anything. Oddly I normally get to sleep almost straight away - very strange for me - but wake up after 2/3 hours. It's then a battle for the rest of the night... And yay for a steam cleaner! I don't personally have one, but I've borrowed my mothers' when moving house in the past -and will do again, as it's so fab! DH particularly loved the ease of cleaning windows with one Grin.

Ninja, good luck with the house hunting! And rubbish, Biscuits, about how much value you lost :( I'm with Scream - Even though we've not even bought our house yet, I'm already worrying about when we want to move on! Ideally we'd only be there a few yrs, though we've factored in staying for longer if we need to/can't afford to move on/can't sell the place! There are some improvements we need to make as soon as we move in - kitchen and patio doors - and others that we want to make soonish (new eco CHP boiler, bathroom, etc etc) - hoping that'll all add to the value in the long run. Still worrying! I'm a worrier by nature though...

Biscuits, what a bizarre conversation! I thought Ethan was quite a traditionalish name nowadays? Maybe traditional's not the right word! Hope he's doing ok, and that the stitches are healing nicely.

Jen, hurrah for a good MW appointment yesterday :) I've got one coming up in a week... LO was head down last time so I'm hoping for the same this time. I actually think it might have engaged a bit as I'm more regularly feeling like it's about to fall out of me (though it's obviously not!). Jealous of you not needing/wanting to eat much - I'm constantly hungry at the moment! But can't eat much in any one sitting, so snacking lots (on healthy ish things, so not too bad).. but then getting constant heartburn! Argh!

Popcorn, hope you get the analysis of your booking in sample soon so you can stop worrying! I haven't suffered from a UTI so can't compare... but I can say that I've have bouts when I've been very very thirsty throughout pregnancy - and then bouts when I've not thirsty at all (and have been rather worried about dehydration!).

Jaggy, having the exact same problem with ribs at work. Luckily most of the kids I teach are too lovely to keep me grumpy for long! Counting down the days... and I might even get a day off next week because of the teaching strike in London. Truth be told I'd rather work - I'll get paid anyway (as the teaching would be cancelled with too short a notice), but it means I'd miss my last lessons with some of my lovely pupils :(

Thanks for clearing up the baby name registering Imps Wink

No brooking for Dream still - looking out for her news!

Not much news here! Only one full week of work left, hurrah! Then a couple of occasional days to clear up Year End, and I'll be done.

Wondering if I might be suffering the start of SPD after what I've seen on some other threads? I'm getting hip pain in bed (trying to alleviate by sleeping on a pillow as well as using the body pillow, but not helping much), and pain constantly while walking. It also feels like I've bruised my coccyx? Don't know if that's related, but it's pretty painful to go from sitting to standing. Either way, whether it's SPD related, back related (which I'm sure some is, as I'm getting a lot of backache too), or something different, I know I'm lucky for making it this far (32w+4) with very few problems other than the initial bleeding.

I also think I'm outgrowing all my maternity trousers Blush. Wearing a dress today as it's a long day (6.5 hrs work, then hanging around in London until a rehearsal 8-10pm), as I knew I wouldn't cope in trousers all day, and it's like a godsend! SO comfy! I only have one maternity dress, so I might have raid my others and see which have some stretch in them (or that I don't mind stretching into submission!) to wear when I have to look reasonable until I pop... that, or this dress is going to be washed and worn a lot over the next month or so!

scarletfingernail · 22/03/2012 17:40

Grin at post office lady. Biscuits take no notice, she was bizarre.

Popcorn I don't think there's any right or wrong with regards flying, it's just personal choice. DH and I are quite well travelled and prior to DS would take 3-4 trips abroad a year, but have so far not taken DS on a plane. I would have done this year if I was not having another baby, but as it stands we will probably wait another 3 or so years now. I just hate the thought of them crying and not knowing whether it's because they're in pain because of their ears or not. On the other hand nearly everyone else I know with babies have taken their babies on planes and have said it was absolutely fine. So it's probably something I worry about unecessarily.

Scream DH and I did a California road trip a few years ago. It was the best holiday ever. Absolutely fantastic, I thoroughly recommend to anyone. We travelled really light and hired a convertible, it was just like you see in films. Never ending roads through the desert and then fantastic scenery down the Pacific Coast Highway.

Great news re the GTT jen

jaggy I have a head wedged firmly under my ribs. The acid reflux last night was awful. I completely sympathise if you're experiencing the same thing.

Great news re the house valuation Ninja

I've been brooking for Dream and also wondering if she's been kept in for a section today.

jenfraggle · 22/03/2012 17:42

Musical I've had virtually no heartburn during pregnancy which is weird as I suffered from it before and was on prescription tablets for it. Haven't had the rib pain either, of course me saying this will ensure it starts

Biscuitsandtea · 22/03/2012 17:54

Scarlet - we were the same with the flying - prob would have gone this year if not for the new baby! And also I think we worried about it unnecessarily as everyone else managed fine!

Oh and that make a lot of sense whoever said about going at 5 mths rather than a year - pre weaning and pre mobile baby is definitely easier. Otherwise you end up taking a load of crap stuff everywhere for them. Ds1 now finally travels light again after 3 years!

Biscuitsandtea · 22/03/2012 17:55

I keep forgetting most of you are still pregnant and get a bit flummoxed by comments about feet in ribs! I think cos I've had mine I assume you all have too - self obsessed? Me? Naaaa..........

Wants3 · 22/03/2012 18:25

pop are you taking pregnancy multivitamins by any chance? They will give you bright yellow wee regardless of how much you drink!:) if you have no discomfort then it could be that.
scream can't remember if I said already but I know a teeny 9 week old Autumn. So sweet. Her mum had mixed reactions but mostly good ones.
Latest dress up update, ds1 will be a Jedi tomorrow.

scarletfingernail · 22/03/2012 19:04

Where oh where is dream?...

pommedechocolat · 22/03/2012 19:10

I'm glad you said that first biscuits.

Where is dream indeed scream...

jenfraggle · 22/03/2012 19:14

I'm sure Dream is off celebrating her good news and doesn't care has just forgotten about us

jaggythistle · 22/03/2012 19:20

As far as I know it's a wee bum and maybe some feet under my ribs, but my bump has been really tight and a funny shape for about a week so who knows what the wee monkey is up too. At my AN appointment a few days before funny bump arrived, the baby was ROP position so spine towards my back a bit with bum at the top. My bump is visibly more sticky outy and is making people go Shock a lot.

I just feel really bloaty too - woke up so uncomfortable at about 3 this morning!

jaggythistle · 22/03/2012 19:21

Also wondering where dream is and do we know what purple is up to as we've not had a wee update for a while?

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 22/03/2012 19:33

Last time Dream was kept in for a few hours to monitor her BHs. So I'm hoping that the scan was absolutely fine and Dream's just been delayed as she tries to convince the mws that this level of BHs is normal for her! I'm sure she'll be out soon, with her wriggly package intact.

I'm also missing Purple a lot! I hope everything is going well and she'll be back when she has the energy!

OP posts:
TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 22/03/2012 20:12

Come on Dream...hope everything is ok!

Pomme, you are doing an amazing job, don't get downhearted now because you rock!

Scream, thanks for the registry advice but yes, am in Scotland. Tell us some of your DH's wedding stories! I love the name Autumn.

Was also wondering where Purple is and Brooking that nothing's wrong and she's just a bit busy.

Have just sent DH out for chips Blush. Healthy and nutritious dinner...bet Bean wakes up just as he comes home. I am in awe of all of you whose DHs have gone back to work. I am dreading DH going back to work. Gaah, why can't I stop crying today? I was fine yesterday! Today I am crying every few minutes. Confused

Biscuitsandtea · 22/03/2012 20:26

Day 13 with DS1 (the day before DH went back to work) I wept most of the day about how I could ever manage....

hawthers · 22/03/2012 20:45

Feel like weeping now I'm so tired.....

NinjaChipmunk · 22/03/2012 21:52

it doesn't take much to make me weep these days. God only knows what i'll be like when dd arrives!
scream we paid slightly over the odds for our flat as we bought it in the summer of 2007 which was basically the peak of the market. Nice to know things round here are still increasing though. The next house will be a 10 -15 year house I guess rather than a 5 year one so needs to be able to fit us all in as we grow.
popcorn I know loads of people who have flown with little ones, how far are you thinking of going? My friend is married to a kiwi and they all flew over there when their ds was really little.
biscuits your post office lady clearly needs to get out a little more....
musical yay for nearly finishing work, I finish mid may and am really looking forward to it already. I will have nearly 6 weeks holiday before ML starts on my due date Grin
dream hope everythings ok wherever you are.....

I'm sure there was something else I was going to say but have forgotten!

DreamingOfPeace · 22/03/2012 22:18

gah, no time for mn anymore, most depressing- as DD is -touch wood- going to bed better (with rigid early-nap routine), but this means when I used to check in in the morning while waiting for her to wake up at 8ish is gone now she's up 6:30!! etc etc

My scan was good. I had relaxed as I can feel T2 moving again anyway, and my bump has had a massive growth spurt confused so I really thought it'd be fine. And it was!! It will be wildly inaccurate again as they couldn't measure T1's head as it's too low in my pelvis, so that measurement is missed off the growth calculation altogether for him, plus they really struggled to get T2's abdomen measurement. I'd told the sonographer they were both head down, after I felt T2 move out of transverse on the monitors on Monday, and the mw said he was head down. After some fruitless searching, she checked up by my ribs and found his head, so he had turned- but transverse to breech!! They're estimated at 5lb 10 and 5lb 9 (for the head-less one wink ).

And today, despite much suffering, I managed to decline an earlier date for my CS as better for the babies if I wait.... . But if I brought it forward to next week as offered and they needed any special care I'd feel dreadful for being so selfish, so 13 days left!!! I have to go in if these dratted BH get any worse, but hope will all be fine.

We met a nice lady today and are going with her for nanny/mother's help. The first lady we met I was unsure of- neither woman had recent young children experience, and the first one wasn't suggesting anything activity-wise appropriate for my pre-verbal little 18 month old iykwim... And then rang me today to say I seemed anxious about coping (I was more trying to explain the whole point of the job- so DD is included and I have time with her, and boys etc etc) and I should think positively about my cS scar after the birth and think 'it's beautiful, its part of me' and i should tell my babies I love them before they're born (which I do anyway at night when they're wriggling, often) but put me right off her!!!! Got a good vibe from the lady today- never once mentioned early years foundation stages (suits me!) and I just thought she'd be kind to them all. So on spot decision!

Sorry, all me me me so far Grin

The nights are sht scarlet. That Is All (said biscuits-style). I can't go more than 2 hours maximum without a wee with these 2 on my bladder, plus ven ranitidine is failing to control my heartburn... so I'm up constantly too- its very tiring (and musical* , hard to be working too)

crap, DH going on at me about computer, must go...

sorry!!!

cakes82 · 22/03/2012 22:33

Quick pop in, just to say I'm now mw endorsed! 12w scan tomorrow :o

Hi Everyone!

fishcakefoxtrot · 22/03/2012 22:48

Good to see you back dream. Those are great weight estimates! The person who did my scan yesterday said that an acceptable margin of error was 10% so provided the person doing yours wasn't a total amateur you are on track for two good size babies! i am totally in awe of how you are keeping two that size in there- DD was 5lb2 and I felt huge, heartburny and utterly squashed.

Glad to hear you have found a good helper. Sometimes these decisions are best made on gut feeling.

Hope you have a lovely scan tomorrow cakes.

Am off to bed soon. DH hopefully back tomorrow. is it very bad that I'm not sure DD has eaten anything green since he went yesterday morning?

Hope everyone gets a decent amount of sleep tonight Smile

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 22/03/2012 23:04

Oh good, you're back Dream. Yay for excellent weights! Twin 2 being breech might explain why your heartburn is no longer being controlled by Ranitidine, sadly. You are very brave to turn down the early section! Hang in there. I now wish I had been less keen on a 37 weeks section as Bean was a bit small and perhaps the jaundice would have been less if I'd waited a week. Any further babies I may have are not being evicted until at least 38 weeks if I can help it. Yesterday's woman sounds a bit overly keen, if that makes any sense (keen is good, but phoning you up to tell you to say I love you to the babies is a bit OTT). Glad you got someone today who sounds very nice. After all, you have to get on with this person, so personality is very important.

Fishcake, the only green thing I have eaten today is a bit of cucumber in my sandwiches at lunchtime. Confused I think the odd day here and there won't do any harm.

Cakes, yay for being properly MW endorsed and good luck for tomorrow's scan!

Thank you for the kind words re crying, Biscuits, Ninja and Hawthers - I feel like less of a soggy mess now. Think partly it was being discharged by the MW yesterday and feeling all abandoned. DH has persuaded me I'm being silly and Mum is back for the day tomorrow, so I will have to rely on my own support network instead of the professionals.

Hawthers, hope you get some sleep soon! Have a Brew.

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 22/03/2012 23:07

Big hugs for Hawthers! Hang in there, I am reliably informed that it does get better!

Yay for Dream's great scan. Can I second what Fishcake said - I am awestruck that you're carrying TWO at that size! Given that my LO was spot on average at all scans up to the most recent one at 26 weeks, if she's still exactly average now (34 weeks) then she must be approx 5lbs 5. This feels HUGE to me, my skin is unbelievably tight, the heartburn is insane and constant, and the foot-in-ribs is soooooooo painful. I literally cannot imagine doubling this load! Plus I spent most of the small hours last night puking, so it's great to see that particular symptom back for the home stretch. You are definitely a wonder woman Dream! Yay for finding a helper as well!

Cake that's great news on the mw endorsement! Good luck for the scan tomorrow!

OP posts:
DreamingOfPeace · 22/03/2012 23:35

If you lot heard me whinge to dh you wouldn't say that!! Lol. The scanning lady today was so stuck trying to measure them she had someone come n verify it was impossible to measure one head etc. And my stomach is a mess, more stretch marks than skin under the bump, all the rest if the skin shines like it'd been oiled with the stretching, I'm kind of standing funny with the bump weight, as I said, have to wee every 2 hours if I'm lucky at night but in day more like every 20 min... Reckon the transverse made me vomit n breech position is stopping ranitidine working. I can't sit at a table well as the bump extends too low and comes up too high, so I'd have to fully straddle a chair to get in which is too uncomfy iykwim... I'm a mess!!!! I'll never go into labour though. Apparently 95% of women go into labour within 24 hours of their waters breaking.... I was still unfavourable with a hard, high, closed posterior cervix 30 hours on!!!! Dh helpfully says in times gone by I'd be one of those women who died in childbirth with an obstructed baby as so far post dates. Cheers dh!!! ;-)

too, sobbing hard while saying "but I'm so hhaaaappppyyyy!" is also normal I found... You had your reasons for 37 weeks, don't worry about it for a second now. I just want to cook these as long as i can.... I'm booked in for 37+6 anyway.

Biscuitsandtea · 23/03/2012 01:37

Cakes good luck for your scan tomorrow Smile and congratulations in becoming mw-endorsed!

Dream those boys are some excellent weights! Like everyone else though I am astounded that you're managing to fit two babies of such a good size in! So glad to hear that DD is sleeping better now though - awesome effort Smile
