Hello ladies! I can't wait to see how many No Brooking babies arrive during the course of this thread!! Do you realise we have now filled SEVEN threads (and that's just the graduates!) That's 7000 posts and counting!

Let's all get settled in for some serious No Brooking, we have a lot of painless sneeze births to get through over the next couple of weeks!

Hi Far forgot to say on other thread, I heard mw sorts free prescription and free dentist form. A little different here in Wales cause we get free prescriptions anyway. Apparently some dentists will take your word for it if by time you see them you haven't yet got form.

I thought matb1 was for sorting maternity leave with employers and you had to let them know your plan by 15wks before finishing so approx wk24?

farfallarocks · 20/03/2012 11:49

Thanks gals for clearing this up. Very confusing as last time I got the free prescription form straight away, will ask the midwife when I see her. :)

Biscuitsandtea · 20/03/2012 12:40

Far my mw did my free prescription form at my booking in appt which was at 8 weeks so you should be entitled to one - it's just getting hold of one if your area doesn't routinely do a booking in appt before the scan? All sounds a bit odd though and very Confused.

What did the hospital say when you called them? I never knew you could self refer directly to the hospital?

scarletfingernail · 20/03/2012 12:53

Free prescription form is usually sorted by midwife so check at next appointment. My local pharmacist is happy to backdate if you need a prescription but not had form, so might be worth checking if you do need a prescription.

IIRC MatB1 form is issued from 24 weeks onwards as you're not entitled to maternity leave or pay before then.

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 20/03/2012 13:11

In my case I received my free prescription form at the same time as my MATB1 form, but that doesn't mean that's the norm! That happened to be the first time during the pregnancy that I was also issued with a prescription, and my GP gave both forms to me. He did confirm that the MATB1 couldn't be issued until 24 weeks, but he didn't mention anything about a limit on when to issue the free prescriptions form.

Dream how are the BHs and period pains this morn? Are you going to go back in for more monitoring, or hide away in case they insist on admitting you?! You mentioned having this problem last pg as well, right? Strong regular BHs which confused the docs? Frustrating!

Glad your little guys are lining up properly now though. Hopefully the new position will make it easier for a more accurate weight assessment on Thurs!

DreamingOfPeace · 20/03/2012 13:35

Hi, I'm so rushed so will be a self-centred post, yet again... My BH are, unsurprisingly, just the same or maybe a little worse, but obviously I'm bigger every day with a more-stretched uterus. I rang and spoke to the mw and said I didn;t think there was much point coming in again, they're still strong and regular, but babies moving, not sure what a v similar CTG trace will add and consultant appointment thursday. Luckily she agreed, so I am at home. This is even better as it clashed with drains man other wise- far more important! The bad news is my theory the sickness was all baby-transverse related has not held up, been puking away with DD, who had forgotten about that bit obviously, sobbing and hanging onto my legs wanting picking up- not right now dear!! I am now convinced scan on thurs will be fine, 16 days to go for me....

far, yay for 7 weeks!!!

I did indeed get simultaneous BFP with scarlet

Love bath posting jaggy, though always brick it i might drop phone in Grin

Wants3 · 20/03/2012 15:44

Hello all, I was issued my prescriptions form at drs booking in appt. She filled in her bit,I filled in mine and sent it off. I now have a little plastic card to show at pharmacy.( havent used it yet)
I have just spent a day that was meant to be uni study doing work paperwork! Oh well.
I had a little smile as I saw ds1 ride off to school this morning, it is charity week and he was wearing his panda onesie complete with ears :) it's hard to believe he has his first driving lesson on sat!
I think we might actually be going pram shopping on sat. DH has been talking about 'looking' for a while but he actually said yesterday if we see one we like we might be in a position to buy it! Excited.com
Right, must go and start a shopping list as I have to hit the supermarket later! As each week goes by Internet shopping becomes more and more tempting.

jaggythistle · 20/03/2012 16:54

Oh i was v worried about dropping the phone dream, i chickened out after about 5 minutes!

Feel better for a wee chill out and (TMI alert) took a hedge trimmer a razor to the unseen area below my enormobump.

I am now attracting daily comments on my girth.....joy. :)

I got my prescription form when I had an appointment to pick up my notes at 16 weeks ish? It was in my wee folder with all the leaflets and stuff you get handed.

Imps7 · 20/03/2012 19:07

Just popping in because you'd fallen off my active conversations list to see if I can hear the sound of waters breaking and newborn cries from anyone...

I missed Purple's son's name - has it been revealed or are you keeping it on the down-low (?) Purple?

Biscuitsandtea · 20/03/2012 20:18

I've just managed to bath both DSs single handedly!!

Almost got all the way through DS1's bedtime routine but adding in DS2's bath and feed. Then DH rocked up in time to read DS1's story but I'd done all the hard stuff. Feeling preeeeeeeetty chuffed with myself Smile

How's the BHs Dream? Just out of interest, you know you had these mega BH with your DD when they thought you were in labour? How long was that before you were in actual labour?

Hope everyone else is well

DreamingOfPeace · 20/03/2012 20:49

Ha, I never went into actual labour, induced after 30 hours despite the mega strong, mega regular bh. But i do wonder if maybe if I'd had longer I would have gone into labour....

Seriously good going to get bathtime done by yourself biscuits, I'd be ecstatic if i managed it!!! Well done you Grin

NinjaChipmunk · 20/03/2012 21:19

well done biscuits you deserve at least one creme egg for that. If not a whole easter egg sized one.
dream how are the BHs this evening? Have they calmed down at all?
imps lovely to see you, I think the next ones are not due for a couple of weeks yet? I'm sure someone will be along to correct me soon if I'm wrong....

DreamingOfPeace · 20/03/2012 22:12

Nope ninja, still loads- though maybe, possibly slightly less . I reckon they're another thing to be endured, along with the return of the puking til these babies are born... Gah. How was the house valuation?

Hi imps, sorry I can't keep up with the TTC thread, but always enjoy your cartwheels and comments even if you remind me constantly of the half arsed job I made of that blooming radiator In 15 days you can have my glittery vom bucket. Will dettol it first of course Grin

scarletfingernail · 20/03/2012 22:20

Well done Biscuits, I can imagine that feels like a huge achievement Smile Is it easier looking after DS1 now you're no longer pg? Is DS1 still coping well with being a big brother?

I feel so stressed. I don't even know how to explain how stressed I feel. I'll be 36 weeks on Friday. I still have no hospital bag packed, my baby clothes and equipment is still in the loft, I'm looking after DS almost single handedly 24/7 and I'm still cooking a meal every night. All on about 3 hours sleep. The house is a complete tip, we have 3 bedrooms worth of stuff piled up in our bedroom. There's dust and crap everywhere. I'm tantruming at DH every evening, but there isn't any more he can do. He's out for 12 hours a day at work and then comes home and carries on where the builders have left off. He works on the house all weekend also and we're both getting to the stage where we look ill. He's looks gaunt and knackered and I, putting it frankly, look and feel like I've been dug up Sad. I end up shouting and crying every night and the only other option is for DH to stop and give me break instead. But then it won't be finished in time, which I know will make me even more stressed.

I just feel so upset because this is the last time I will ever be pregnant, I have 4 weeks (maybe?) left and I've not had a break at all. It would just be nice to feel looked after, just a couple of nights a week and maybe a day at the weekend. I know how horrific those first months are with a newborn and I'm going into it this time starting from a bad place.

Sorry for the rant, it's not the brooking spirit I know. I just don't know how to make myself see things more positively and I suppose I'm looking for sympathy a kick up the arse.

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 20/03/2012 22:32

Scarlet you poor thing!! I remember how stressful it was when we had our house renovated, and all I was doing at the same time is working. I wasn't pregnant and I didn't have a toddler to look after. I can't imagine how overwhelming it must be for you!! I do know what the dust and mess is like though, horrendous!

You are so close to the end though my lovely. Hang in there, in a short space of time this will all be nothing more than the distant past, and your gorgeous shiny house will be your present! You can do it, you're a No Brooker!!!

Congrats to Biscuits for a triumphant evening! Very impressive!! Make sure your DH appeciates the magnitude of your achievement and doesn't take it for granted!!

Dream sorry you're having to endure BHs and The Puking at the moment. Only two weeks to go though, which is very exciting!!! You're on the home stretch!!

As for me, if this LO doesn't dislodge her foot from under my ribs soon I'm going to remove my lower rib with my bare hands!!! Can't take it anymore!!!! Is there anyway to turn a baby breech?!?!

OP posts:
Biscuitsandtea · 21/03/2012 00:27

Oh Scarlet you poor thing. I feel so sorry for you - sending you bucket loads of sympathy xx

You're doing an amazing job keeping everything going and it is so tiring when you and DH are both so busy. It must be a real bind for you both needing him to work on the house every evening and weekend too. It's awful when neither of you get a rest.

In answer to your question, DS1 is still doing really well, although I am having to deal with the odd strop as I get them more on their own. And of course he wants cuddles when I'm feeding etc, but hopefully we can work through it Confused

How long is it until the builders bugger off? I really hope it's not too long for you xxx

Biscuitsandtea · 21/03/2012 04:21

And yes Scarlet it does seem easier to look after DS1 now I'm not pg I think. In a way I feel less tired, or at least tired in a different way maybe? And I can walk at a normal speed now which is good.

I would say though that for almost the first week I couldn't do much for him at all - I could just about get from one end of the day to the other with the feeding etc, but since I've got myself back on track it has been ok. The issues I have are around 'managing' both of them at the same time but in many ways it is easier now I'm not pg.

Biscuitsandtea · 21/03/2012 04:25

(But maybe ask me about that this evening when I've looked after them both all day Confused)

farfallarocks · 21/03/2012 08:09

Oh scarlett you poor thing, living with builders in a nightmare at the best of times, let alone heavily pregnant, you poor lamb. i have no suggestions other than can you go and have a massage this weekend or something that gets you out the house without your DS, even if only for an hour for a break? Are there any friends and family you can rope into helping you finish on time? Have a big hug :)

biscuits well done of the duo bathing!!!

Thanks for all your help on booking in etc etc

I called the hospital, they have received my referral and I should be contacted by the midwife in the next week as well as getting a scan date booked in. Apparently you don;t need to go via the GP to access ante-natal care, you can self refer as long as you are in the catchment area and there was a just an online form I filled in and faxed over to them. very efficient! I really need to change GP as well, they are rubbish and I htink there is a better one locally according to my friends!

scream there is a good website called spinning babies my friend used. She also had some success with acupuncture (Specifically they burn some moxa near your toe I think, sounds odd but apparently it works!!)

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 21/03/2012 08:15

Morning all!

Biscuits I hope you managed to get some sleep last night, in between all the late night feeds! Good luck looking after both boys by yourself today! Although you obviously don't need luck, you're clearly a natural at this!

I no longer have BH queries for you all, they have most definitely arrived in the Scream household! Luckily so far I haven't had both the period pain and the BHs at the same time as this would send me into an immediate panic! It's a weird sensation though, to have your muscles make such a strong movement completely independently of you!

Exactly 2 weeks to get through before my cs booking in appt...

I know Dream has a super important appt tomorrow which we're all No Brooking for. Who else has an appt this week?

OP posts:
ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 21/03/2012 08:26

Thanks for the website suggestion Farfalla. Unfortunately it perfectly explains why my baby has been in the "optimal" position for weeks now, most of the exercises and positions they suggest are very similar to all the physio exercises I've been doing for my SPD!! No wonder this baby's feet are wedged right up under my ribs (and I'm convinced they are squishing my liver or some other vital organ directly against my rib cage!)

Unfortunately Naturally the website doesn't give any advice for how to flip the baby the other way around. Even if it did though I suspect I wouldn't be able to follow the directions because presumably they would clash with my physio exercises. Ah well, it was a silly idea anyway. It would just be nice if the baby and I could share my abdominal space a little bit more evenly!!

OP posts:
farfallarocks · 21/03/2012 08:50

Sorry scream I misread your post and thought you wanted to turn a breach baby!

scarletfingernail · 21/03/2012 10:02

Far that spinning babies info is helpful to me. I need to get mine turned round pronto so I will be having a look at that website.

I have my 36 week scan on Friday. I'm brooking no argument that the baby will be head down and also not be any porkier. I really really do not want an ECV, but would take that over a section as I can't have this baby before my due date

Thanks for the hugs and sympathy Smile Things always seem a little better in the morning, but I know I'll be completely wound up again by the time this evening comes. One more week until the last workman buggers off, but then there will be loads of finishing off to do that will take DH at least another week. After that we'll need to have a mega clean up operation. Or rather DH will, as I will be 38 weeks by then and will insist on putting my feet up at last.

Please, please, please don't put in an appearance until the house is clean and tidy and ready for you.

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 21/03/2012 10:54

Scarlet, you poor thing! Is there anyone who could come round and help out a bit, like your mum? Maybe take DS out for a bit so you could sleep? Or you could look into hiring a cleaner for the massive post-builder clean. I'm not sure how expensive they'd be in your neck of the woods, but it might be worth it just to know that you/DH wouldn't have to do the heavy hoovering and dusting etc.

Scream, any respite from the rib kicking? Ouch. Brew for you too.

Biscuits, yay for the bath success! How is today going with both of them on your own?

Far, that sounds like progress with the booking in - excellent!

Dream, is there an appt today? Brooking for lots of growth/movements from both twins but especially Twin 2.

Grin at Wants' 17 yo DS in a panda onesie. Did he get it from Primark?
