Emsgale · 10/04/2012 08:45

thanks bearcrumble I will give it a go along with a bath I think as that usually works!

yes anyword from digi?

Bunsouttheoven · 10/04/2012 09:27

Welcome Katie

Happy birthday Hayley

I am currently donning some beautiful surgical stockings & a rather fetching gown. Waiting...waiting. Staff have lost my notes, everyone searching for my consent form.

marshmallowpies · 10/04/2012 09:41

Good luck buns !

I'm just back from hospital, we were seen in under half an hour (did the right thing going in early!) and she IS head down now but still floating free.

So confused by the constant chopping & changing but I'll hopefully have a 39 wk midwife appt this week and fingers crossed things will just go smoothly from there...

I was so hyped up that I WOULD be having a CS this week, I now don't know what to do with myself! Making a to-do list now...

balkanscot · 10/04/2012 10:27

Congratulations to everyone who has had their babies by now - and good luck, Buns, almost there!!!

I have exactly a week to go if he decides not to procrastinate (although procrastination is his dad's trademark). Had some sort of liquid leakage on Saturday night, phoned Triage at the Royal Infirmary, was told it was just a discharge (after being told to monitor it for 1 hour and then phone back). Just when I thought it may have been a proper Easter baby... Oh, well, nothing but sit around and wait.

Good luck to everyone else!

balkanscot · 10/04/2012 10:30

And happy birthday to April ladies (Hayley & Co). Wine

Bearcrumble, gorgeous baby! :)

Bananna1 · 10/04/2012 12:37

Hope they've found your notes by now Buns and things have progressed - you could be cuddling your baby bundle this very minute :) Hope all is well. As with Digi and all other ladies who are brewing symptoms...

Happy Birthday Hayley and all other Aprillers - will my baby come on her due date and share yours Flisspaps??!! I do hope so!

Baby bananna not showing any signs of coming yet, which is great (am 38+3). Am now feeling really positive that it will stay where it's put for a while to let my builders get on with their job. I had such a wonderfully relaxing Easter weekend and felt full of energy - we had NO builders in the house for 4 days, and I felt like a different person!! Today they are back with a vengeance - 7 of them, yes 7 - and I feel all weak, faint-hearted and pathetic again. I think I'm allergic to them!

Hope to hear some baby news very soon and hope all you overdue ladies are bearing up.

notso · 10/04/2012 16:08

Hello all, just had a quick skim through you lot have all been busy posting over the weekend, but no more confirmed babies yet right? (apologies if I have missed someone)

After being told head was engaged on Friday and having a show I was thinking I would be holding DC4 now. Instead I have just got back from a 6 hour trip to the hospital. Ped is big, as I expected, fluid is normal, I think the sonographer may have slipped up and given the sex awayAngry, consultant said that they will be happy to induce me any time from 40 weeks if I so wish, so have made appointment for DDay exactly two weeks today, to discuss induction, hoping I won't need it.
Haven't needed induction for the other three, did have a sweep with DS1 but did nothing except leave me violated!
In some ways induction would be easier as I will definately be off the clexane so could use the pool, but everyone in RL I know who has been induced has ended up with CS, assisted delivery or at the least epidural and I don't want any of those if I can help it.

Flisspaps · 10/04/2012 16:59

notso remember that even if the sonographer slipped up, they never guarantee the sex 100% so it may well be wrong. You won't know for sure until Ped has escaped :)

Fingers crossed for a spontaneous labour for you :)

Feeling a bit 'periody' and 'heavy' this afternoon but daren't think for a second it's anything other than my jeans being too tight (they are undone!) but am sitting on the ball (as always) to do application forms for DH. I fully expect to get off the ball in a bit, do a massive trump or something and then feel absolutely fine.

notso · 10/04/2012 17:18

I know Fliss I have being trying to pretend I didn't hear anything all afternoon, but I have never heard this sonographer refer to the sex at all (she scanned me three times with DS2 and did my 20 week scan this time) and definately said SHE is in the perfect position for labour.
However if you had asked me before today I would have said I think it's a boy!
Still have no boys name though but plenty of girls names.

notso · 10/04/2012 17:27

Posted too soon!

I keep getting that feeling but it turns out I just either have wind or need a poo!!
Once today is over (DS2 was born at exactly 38 weeks) I think I'll be more relaxed about the whole whens it going to be business.
Hopefully it will be after Friday (payday) and when DC are back in school a week today!

VintageNancy · 10/04/2012 17:39

notso We told our sonographer yesterday that we didn't know the sex and he said he just always uses "He" anyway. Yours might always use "She" so it doesn't necessarily mean anything.

He/she was measuring at 8lb8+/- 1lb3! So inaccurate. I'm hoping that 7lb5 is more like it - the sonographer said he'd put it at more like that too.

digitalgirl · 10/04/2012 17:44

Hello ladies! Baby Franco born 1.39pm yesterday weighing 8lbs and 12oz.

Was hoping to keep you all a bit more informed but reception was rubbish and things all got a bit intense after 9am. Will post birth story in childbirth section so first timers can avoid reading it if they want. Grin

marshmallowpies · 10/04/2012 17:46

Congratulations digitalgirl and hello to young master Franco! Thanks

Flisspaps · 10/04/2012 17:48

Congratulations digitalgirl Grin

Vintage That's a good point - at both of our scans the sonographers said 'she' but they did say that was just because they don't like saying 'it'so just say she as standard :)

Hmm, didn't fart when I got up Wink

Aching has now started in my back, very mild but enough for me to notice. Happening every 10 mins or so but I am so desperate not to get my hopes up. Have mentioned nothing to DH, but am also furiously getting on with completing these forms for him (I'm a much faster typist than he will ever be!) because even if this is not it today, the chance of it happening in the next week or so increases with every passing day!

Bananna1 · 10/04/2012 17:54

Yay Digitalgirl congratulations, that's great news :) and what a healthy weight! Love the name too. Fantastic!
Hope you're feeling okay and enjoying your baby boy.

And hope things are on the move Fliss!!

LaTristesse · 10/04/2012 18:29

Yay, well done Digi, great news, and love his name!

Go Fliss, defo sounds like 'something' to me!

VintageNancy · 10/04/2012 18:34

Congratulations digi Grin. Welcome to the world Franco!

Oooh Fliss fingers crossed it's something. I keep bouncing on my ball and all it's doing is making me wee a lot.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 10/04/2012 18:37

Yay, congratulations Digi!! :)

And fingers crossed that somethings happening Fliss.
If you have a baby today then surely I must have one tomorrow.... Wink

Been desperately trying to keep busy and keep my mind off it today. Went to see my nan who proceeded to tell me that I looked awful, and about 10 times that she lost a baby at 8 months :( She is a little bit loopy nowerdays... Then went to Tesco Extra and waddled around the store for a few hours. Having anniversary pizza tonight and DH is desperately hoping that he doesnt have to go back to work tomorrow after a few days off Grin

JambalayaCodfishPie · 10/04/2012 19:09

Congratulations, Digi!

Been at the hospital all day - monitored, showed off my rash - which is not the same as the one the doc saw on Friday. He was astounded by it and had to get someone else to look at it!

They think it's an allergy...but don't know what to. So I'm lathered up with calamine now. It seems to be helping a little bit.

Also had a delightful vaginal examination. I'm not dilated, so nothing's happening soon. Awesome.

BP similar to Friday. Still high, but no higher. Back this Friday for more shenanigans!

Out to a pub quiz tonight - should be fun. Also the midwife's partner is the quizmaster and landlord, so it's a pretty low risk night out!

Enjoy your evenings, all. :)

Flisspaps · 10/04/2012 19:28

Stand down, all quiet on the western front. As soon as I acknowledged that the aching was coming regularly, it buggered off.

As you were.

spannermary the fact that you're not dilated today doesn't mean that you won't go into labour tonight or tomorrow, or in fact any time soon. It just means that at that moment in time, you weren't dilating. Have a fabulous night, and I hope the rash buggers off!

mummylivmade · 10/04/2012 20:06

Hiya congrats digital
I am also writing to report on a special little arrivel at 2.49am today baby girl Emilia Sophie weighing in at 7lb 14oz, after lots of stops and starts and typical 3rd baby moments I'm so glad she is finally here!!

Flisspaps · 10/04/2012 20:28

mummylivmade Congratulations. Seems these babies decided to have a bit of a break over Easter. Lets see if all that chocolate has done it's thing (I always say my top 'natural induction' tip is sit on your arse eating jaffa cakes, it seems that any chocolate based treat will do Grin

Bananna1 · 10/04/2012 20:32

Wonderful news mummylivemade - having three daughters rocks :)
And a very pretty name!

Nordicmom · 10/04/2012 20:43

Congrats Digital and Mummylivmade!
Just got back from Finland . Tomorrow I'll start the frantic preparation for Texas...
