FirstNikki · 02/02/2006 09:43

Morning ladies how are you feeling?

Well I will be 6 weeks on Friday and got my mw apt through monday 13th feb so pleased feels a little more real now. the surgery have changed now how they do things so should work smoother. we now have to go to our town health centre which is were they do the bloods so will be alot more handier.

woke up again with sore throat and blocked up so hope it doesn't last and passes.

whiffy · 03/02/2006 13:52

OMG.

It's all DH's fault. I took my mirena coil out 3 mths ago because it was giving me horrendous food cravings (hahahahahaha) and got DH to stick to condoms, then he caught me unawares after night of heavy partying. Had my suspicions because have been through 8 'start-ups' before (7 m/cs then DS), confirmed this am. Guess I should be vvvvv apprehensive because of history (and also because boss in big city bank will have a fit when he finds out). But somehow can't seem to stop grinning. due Oct 8th.

At least this time won't have ciggie cravings as gave up during the M/C nightmares, but know how tough it is so good luck 3kids (though guess you'll have to change your sign-in name now ) - I used hypnotist when I gave up and helped hugely so thoroughly recommend it if you're as loopily susceptible to that kind of stuff as me.

FirstNikki · 03/02/2006 14:02

lol @ its all DH fault!

Congratulations whimsy welcome to the oct thread..know what you mean about telling the boss not looking forward to that one myself. Good luck with this pregnancy and wish you a full term happy one! I have also experienced a mc, I can only sympathise at your experiences. how is DH about it?

whiffy · 03/02/2006 14:11

DH like kid in candy store. Might be more to do with swollen boobs than anything else, mind.

Not that I'm letting him anywhere near them

FirstNikki · 03/02/2006 14:51

yes I must admit everyday my dh says are they getting bigger he remembers last time they were much bigger at this point luckily no heaviness yet.

how old is your ds?

whiffy · 03/02/2006 15:23

DS has just turned 2. Mad as a hatter.

Having pregnancy after m/c very stressful - but things get much easier once 1st scan is done. Also I think we're lucky 'cos we never mind getting the morning sickness! Good luck with yours XX

FirstNikki · 03/02/2006 15:35

yes thanks, dh can't completely accept it until scan really he slowly getting head around it but his excitement is reserved.

we will get through it hopefully x

totallyfloaty35 · 05/02/2006 12:30

hI ALL,Just had BFP.Due on Oct 13th.Feel so tired at mo,and been having period type pains,so not going to get to excited, but i had those pains with my last preg.Already got 2DD's dd1 is 10yrs and dd2 is 8 yrs,so bit of an age gap.
I have also been getting headaches, is that normal?

FirstNikki · 06/02/2006 09:22

welcome to the thread majormoo and totallyfloaty35

I also suffered period type pains/aches I am putting it down to growing pains. With regards to headaches I do think this is normal I have had a few recently too.

still got this blooming cold so feel and look a bit washed out..hope we are all feeling perkier soon. told the parents yesterday, I finally got my way but we are not telling anyone else until scan (except work when I have to). Wanted to tell them so got support there too, my dad typically said he knew when I asked how he said I had changed shape! already I think I am going to be big...going to have to watch the chocolates and other excess food intake.

totallyfloaty35 · 06/02/2006 09:56

I have opposite problem in that i've gone off eating, something i can usualy win awards at, nothing appeals anymore and i get bored halfway through a meal so dont finish.
I crave beer and am desperate for a chilled glass of white wine,i dont actually drink so this is a weird feeling.

FirstNikki · 06/02/2006 10:10

totally, I wanted beer with my 1st pg..cravings are strange aren't they. I am sure your appetite will come back soon. I am finding that small meals are best. Wish I only ate when I was hungry but I dont so thats a big prob for me I must try harder. Don't want to be a whale during this pg.

totallyfloaty35 · 06/02/2006 12:06

Firstn,i was a whale during both previous pregs,so dont hold out much hope of this one being any different
Ihad pre-eclampsia with my first,so slightly worried it could return for this one,not to mention that im now 35yrs old,so medical staff keep refering to me as a geriatric

sharklet · 06/02/2006 13:51

Can I stic my nose in too? Looks like I might be joining you. We havea very faint positive last night - so check again in another week -but keep you fingers crossed for us!

FirstNikki · 06/02/2006 14:07

WELCOME sharklet and congrats on your bfp...a bfp is a bfp faint or not...but understand you wanting to make sure. I had faint one on af due day and next day darker then got a digital one and there was no mistake on the saturday afternoon it was a bfp test no. 3.

totallyfloaty fingers crossed you don't get pre-eclampsia. drs and health professionals should be more sensitive to ages they tend to be too quick to "pigeon hole" people

riley3 · 06/02/2006 14:30

Hello to all and best of luck to all of you - I am another new/old one for October! This is my 3rd - DS1 is 13(!) and DS2 is 2.5. Am I the oldest on the thread - I will be 41 by Oct 4 when number 3 is due! All well so far. Waiting to hear re 1st mw appt. For the first time ever I have a very slight feeling of nausea - never any morning sickness before.

FirstNikki · 06/02/2006 14:41

congrats on your bfp riley3 and welcome to this thread. best of luck with your pg well I am (whispers) 31 in march..

this is nice we are having a few more join to share our ailments and joys

riley3 · 06/02/2006 14:48

31! I was thinking - I could actually be a great granny by now instead of conceiving another! I am very hung up on not getting big during this pregnancy. I got huge for both of my last 2 and my last one it took ages to get it off! I am trying to ignore the fact that I'm pg and stick to my Slimming World diet. So far it's working a treat - I just have to keep telling myself that any extra appetite is strictly psychological at this stage!

FirstNikki · 06/02/2006 15:20

riley I too am on the sw plan...I started just before xmas and lost 7lb..until last week and I put on 2lb but that was due to a sudden urge to eat chocolate all week I don't usually eat choc that much so that is pg related. I also visit the sw thread on here occasionally.

I have just visited the ladies at work and checked myself in the mirror, my dad was right I have changed shape I look 6mths already I breathe in and it doesn't make much difference!...so don't want to be a frumpy whale during pg

majormoo · 06/02/2006 22:03

Hello everyone. It's good that there are a few more of us on here now.

I feel dreadful-even having nausea which I haven't really suffered with before.

FirstNikki, I think I have changed shape already too. I wonder if it is something to do with my retroverted uterus pushing everything out early! I had a very neat bump with DD and no one ever mentioned my weird positioned uterus. It only came to light with the pregnancy we lost last year, so I do wonder if childbirth caused it.

Gemmitygem · 07/02/2006 09:15

Hi Nikki, 3kids, majormoo, riley 3 and everyone else..

Well I am in a wee bit of a panic today, took the day off sick.

We went away for the weekend, and on Sunday I suddenly had a little rush of bright red blood (no pain, no cramps). Like when you first get your period. That was it, then it went brown and turned to spotting the same day. Now I'm still spotting a tiny tiny bit, brown. (sorry, TMI!) No clots or anything.
I still feel very pregnant, but realise I could well have had an early mc and just have the hormones swimming about still.
Am in a real panic! Any reassurance appreciated! Of course there's nothing I can do if it was a mc, but have any of you 'veterans' had bleeding during preg and it turned out OK?
