oh Sharklet,im so sad for you,im keeping fingers crossed for you that its all ok.

majormoo · 08/02/2006 15:53

Sharklet I am really sorry to hear that. As others have said on your other thread, you need to take it easy. And certainly don't blame yourself-these things just happen sometimes, cruel as nature is. Fingers crossed for you-I hope it goes OK when you do manage to get to the hospital. Take care.

FirstNikki · 08/02/2006 16:00

oh sharklet....so sorry to hear what is happening to you. when I had mc I went drs who said wait but got worse so I called him, in the end I listened to my friend who ordered me and dh to go to A&E, glad I did now and they were great and they did tests and sent me to the ladies ward. I got checked out there and had to go back later for a scan. So A&E is a great route to getting seen especially when you haven't been booked in yet.

Best of luck and I am thinking of you and your dh..let us know how you get on.

{{{{hugs}}}} to you xxx

booge · 08/02/2006 20:37

Sharklet, I'm so sorry to hear of your problems, I lost my first pregnancy at 7 weeks. I phoned the midwives who arrranged for me to go for a scan at the early pregnancy centre at our local hospital. They scanned me and then did follow up tests a couple of days later to confirm the hormone levels were dropping. That was in June 2004 we concieved DS after my next AF in August and he is now 9 months old. I'm keeping my fingers ccrossed for you, a friend bled on and off for the first 6 months and now has a boy 6 weeks older than DS.

Gemmitygem · 09/02/2006 04:22

Thinking of you Sharklet and keeping fingers (and toes) crossed. Please keep us updated

Wish there was a supportive smiley I could type for you!

totallyfloaty35 · 09/02/2006 14:34

Hi how is everyone today?Gem you ok now?I hope things are ok for Sharklet, its scary stuff.

FirstNikki · 09/02/2006 16:20

Hi well don't think my job is secure so thats totally not good news in my condition..so thats big a worry, I mean no one will employ a pg lady will they.

Hi floaty how are you? I noticed on sharklets thread that she is having a mc, its so sad.

Hope you are all having a better day than I am at the moment. xx

majormoo · 09/02/2006 16:31

FirstNikki-sorry to hear about your job worries. I would think that you should be pretty protected as you are pregnant though. When I was pregnant with DD, loads of redundancies were going on, but I think the main reason I wasn't selected is because I was expecting. I asked for voluntary redundancy in the end though.

Poor sharklet.

FirstNikki · 09/02/2006 16:32

errmm thanks majormoo but it won't be just one it will be everyone.

majormoo · 09/02/2006 16:35

oh no. when will you find out for sure?

FirstNikki · 09/02/2006 16:47

its a wait and see, pretty sure it will happen though its just a case of when, will know more on time frame in about a months time.

hana · 09/02/2006 18:38

helllllooooo!

just found out I'm pregnant too, charts say Oct 9. Will be my third.....haven't told a soul yet, not sure how to tell dh....he wasn't convinced about having number 3
I am really happy though!
how many are here?

majormoo · 09/02/2006 20:44

congratulations hana. I am due 10th Oct with my second so we are very close in dates.

hana · 09/02/2006 21:42

congrats majormoo
i've been skimming around other threads - this is my 6th pregnancy - I've had 2 m/c and a termination for multiple chromosomal abnormalities -( was told was Pataus Edwards or Downs Syndrome) I understand a bit of what you're feeling too.
mine is a long long story, will spare everyone details, but I am thrilled to be preg again despite being really anxious about it all and the what if what if scenarios.
am feeling so crappy, came home from work today and was such a struggle to feed dds and put them to bed. Slept for a couple of hours and now I'm wide awake! dh out. still don't know how to tell him - our youngest is only 13 months, other is 4.

Gemmitygem · 10/02/2006 02:52

Welcome Hana!

Nice to have you on board.

Thanks floaty, feeling better now. I do still feel v preg, symptoms have got stronger and the bleed was almost a week ago now, so not complacent but pretty sure I am still preg. 5 weeks today so no way of checking for sure yet anyway. Doctor colleague says unlikely for such a small half hour bleed which then dried up straight away to be a m/c (sorry TMI). Still, I wish I had morning sickness no, honestly! because heard it is a sign of a healthy preg. Are you others feeling sicky yet?

Nikki, sorry about your job worries and hope it works out. I'm sure you would be able to find another job if the worst came to the worst: nice companies will employ someone pregnant if they think they're good, and I'm sure you are!

whiffy · 10/02/2006 09:49

Has anyone else gone mad yet?

The hormonal imbalances have definately kicked in for me - I've got a cough & cold and was feeling really knackered yesterday and the au-pair kept coming out with inane comments to keep the conversation going when all I wanted to do was get a very grumpy DS and me into bed, and I nearly bit her head off (and I am miss congenialtiy normally)...then instead of falling asleep when I went to bed at 9, I forced myself to stay awake (wasn't even anything much on telly, was there?) just so I could have a pop over nothing in particular at DH when he got in from working late! Nearly threw him out of the house when he said "don't fret, pet. It's just your hormanal imbalance. You'll wake up tomorrow and remember how wonderful I am. Now, shall I go make you a cup of cocoa?". B*. hahahahahaha. We will never last another 8 months at this rate.

Looks like quite a lot of us on the thread now. Have been busy at work but meant to write line of support to riley - I'll have turned 40 by the time this one pops out so know how you feel.... we must be truly truly mad.

I had also completely forgotton all the horrible side effects until they started kicking in this week, went to the chemist yesterday to buy some Senokot (already!!!), which happened to be in the aisle next to the supersize bottles of Gaviscon (so obviously had to buy a bottle there and then)... and opposite was the cough syrup which I've bought for my husband but won't be able to take myself... and it all slowly dawned on me how much fun we're all in for. And that's for those of us lucky enough to just have the normal pg's.

So on the train home I tried to work out all the good things about being pg, but ran out after (1)being able to eat stuff I like, and (2) the physical side for me & DH is great (or is that just me?).

And that was it. I was tempted to put in a 3rd plus being that people seem to be genuinly nicer to you when you're pg, but then remembered the old lady who came up to me once in Tescos and started stroking my stomach, so couldn't work out if it was a good or very very bad thing being treated differently....jury definately still out.

Can anyone else remind me of the good stuff?

FirstNikki · 10/02/2006 10:25

Morning ladies.. how are we all??

Conrats on your bfp hana and welcome to the thread.

Gem think you could have had implantation bleed last wk. I haven't had particular morning sickness just on the odd occasion thought was getting it at beginning but it passed. Thought was going off tea and coffee but found a new friend in nescafe decaf cappacinos! Thanks for the job support, couldn't stop crying last night with worry dh worred too but he doesn't want me to stress and upset bubba.

Whiffy - oh YES! I have had a total irrational weekend already! This is my 2nd pg and hopefully my first child - praying this is full term so will let you know of any pluses when my heads clearer

Gemmitygem · 10/02/2006 10:39

Hi everyone,

Nikki- hope you're feeling better today about job stuff, it must be even harder what with all the preg hormones kicking in! Re morning sickness, I read that the average is 5 and a half weeks to start getting it, so maybe we've been spared so far but it's just round the corner.. Missed lunch today and am feeling a bit bleurgh though. re implantation, I don't think it was that because too heavy, am still somewhat on tenterhooks but boobs still sore, still feel v preg so will wait out one more week and test again (5 wks today)..

whiffy, know what you mean about emotional! Cried at my colleague yesterday when she asked me to fill in a form! Then cried at sad Russian TV show which they love here called 'Wait for me' where people get reunited with their families they haven't seen for years. Mind you it was quite touching

how's everyone else doing? for the veterans, is it possible to enjoy pregnancy and not worry?

hana · 10/02/2006 10:45

I guess I'm one of the veterans, - and no, you still worry with each one!
These weeks are the worst ones though as hardly anyone knows you are pregnant. Lets hope it all goes quickly.....
has anyone seen their gp yet to get into the system?

FirstNikki · 10/02/2006 10:47

gem you have all the signs so I am sure you are fine.. And yes these hormones making us cry are mad! hope you have a better day

FirstNikki · 10/02/2006 10:48

yes hana I have mw apt on Monday at 10am..can't wait hoping to get scanned sooner. Last time got in earlier due to other health issues so that coupled with mc should be earlier again. well here's hoping.

totallyfloaty35 · 10/02/2006 10:51

Hi All,i've never had a pg and not worried,i think its normal to worry until you get your baby in your arms and see for yourself its ok.
Itoo have been over emotional, sobbing or yelling every 10 mins.
Symptoms wise, boobs are bursting out of brastill cant stand chocolate or eggs but have a real carb fetish at the mo.
Gem,i didnt get morning sickness til i was 6-7 wks gone in my last 2 pregnancies,so dont worry,as when it comes its horrid.
Its lovely that theres a good size group of us now,but im sure it will get loads bigger

FirstNikki · 10/02/2006 11:11

yes totallyfloaty we will be getting bigger in more ways than one...dh said when I walked through door yesterday..." Where has that! come from" I said I needed a wee thats all went loo and he said "see no difference" and began to hold my baby bulge...arrhh but I am getting big quickly found myself wading through my sisters maternity clothes this am she kindly lent me last time there's lots that obviously don't fit but some are simply the next size up in clothes so they are coming out!

7wks today!

totallyfloaty35 · 10/02/2006 11:16

Nikki,im only just over 5 wks, dread to think how big my stomach will be in 2 wks. With dd1 i had pre eclampsia,so i swelled up like crazy,my bump measured 60inchs around by the time i was induced,as im only 63inchs tall i looked like a weeble

FirstNikki · 10/02/2006 11:19

aaww bless you
