Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ghosteditor · 17/01/2012 13:33

I'm trying my best, but all the plans I so casually made
'just in case the baby is a bit late' have now been and gone. And the local MNers with whom I've been meeting up have inconveniently had their babies already and are enjoying their snuggly newborns Envy

How annoying ghost any friends you can make plans with that are then just bound to get mucked up because of the arrival of your baby? Grin

ghosteditor · 17/01/2012 14:18

Wink I'm making plans to have coffee tomorrow with a yoga/MN friend who had her daughter on christmas day - hopefully that'll do it!!

Good plan ghost. Make more for next few days! Dinner out, cinema etc. if you're up to it! Grin

Davinaaddict · 17/01/2012 17:15

Cinema sounds like a good plan - something nice and noisy so baby wants to know what's going on Grin

ghosteditor · 17/01/2012 17:21

You're right about the cinema - I've seen The Iron Lady and War Horse in the last week and baby has been super squirmy throughout both!

I may not be writing off today yet - had a nap this afternoon (a big sulky nap actually Grin) but was woken by what I think was a proper contraction - was certainly painful! Have had several more since then at around 6 mins apart and they all require breathing and hip wiggling, which is v different to the BHs I've been having for centuries several days.

(I'm going to look like a right idiot when I'm still pregnant in a week's time, aren't I?)

Eeeee ghost !! fingers and toes crossed this is it! Grin

aBundanceOfTime · 17/01/2012 18:03

Wooo Ghost!! Everything but legs crossed that this is it for you! Smile

ghosteditor · 17/01/2012 19:00

Thanks ladies! Looking good actually - properly distracting and painful contractions at 4-7 ish mins apart, really strong! DH is gathering bags as we speak, but going to hold off going in as I've only been at it for a couple of hours.

aBundanceOfTime · 17/01/2012 19:08

Good luck!

Carlitawantsababy · 17/01/2012 19:53

Ooooh Grin got goose pimples reading that! C'mon babyghost!! Grin

elliebug · 17/01/2012 20:52

Good luck, come on baby!! Smile

elliebug · 17/01/2012 21:42

in the hope my question will be rudely interrupted Grin, any recommendations for a sling, i like the look of buns but it looks a bit complicated!! i got a peanut shell one for £5 cos the baby is called peanut but am thinking i might prefer one that spreads the weight better??

Carlitawantsababy · 17/01/2012 21:56

Bargain for a peanutshell ellie! I've done lots of research on slings and am opting for a ring sling for around the house, BF, short trips out and a wrap sling for longer journeys/ all day wearing. I have the wrap sling already and need to stop being such a tight wad accept that they don't go for less than £20 and get around to buying a ring sling from eBay. kayzr would be a good person to ask too, she started a thread on it a while back! Smile

Davinaaddict · 17/01/2012 22:25

Ooh we need an update on baby ghost! It's been a while since she posted....I think I'm coming out in sympathy as I've been having a few painful BH's this evening Smile

Come on baby!

Carlitawantsababy · 17/01/2012 22:28

Yeah davina, 3.5 hours since ghost posted, that might mean it's all happening! Grin

Davinaaddict · 17/01/2012 22:30

I can't really recommend a sling ellie as I only used it twice last time. Although it was fairly easy to use and comfy to wear even after a CS. It might be worth you taking a look at the product reviews section on here though (think you might need to look on the web version - I've not seen it on the app, but then I've not looked either)? There is a section on carriers & slings so should give you some good insight. Smile

Davinaaddict · 17/01/2012 22:32

How are we supposed to sleep now?!? I think ghost should be updating us throughout her labour Grin

elliebug · 17/01/2012 22:38

im getting quite excited now!!! will have to check MN when i wake for my middle of the night wee:) might have to buy a sling to help, really love the kari me ones and they look fairly simple to use (and pretty) however they are a bit expensive, better do some overtime

Carlitawantsababy · 17/01/2012 22:40

davina I just went and had a peek at the January thread and ghost posted there at 19.55 that her contractions were 3 mins apart and they were calling the midwife! Sounds pretty good to me! Grin exciting! Grin

Davinaaddict · 17/01/2012 22:41

Hmmmm have been playing stalker detective and Ghost hasn't posted anywhere recently, so guess she's on her way to hospital, if not there already Smile Am so excited for her but can't keep my eyes open much longer!

elliebug · 17/01/2012 22:42

although it is very wide and i am very little, maybe a moby wrap would be better cos its only 55cm? which is a 1/3 of me hum

Carlitawantsababy · 17/01/2012 22:45

X posts ellie. Kari me look like they are just wrap slings (correct me if I'm wrong) I got mine from Victoriaslinglady on eBay, was cheap. Have a look at her website www.victoriaslinglady.co.uk/ and see, maybe there are a few differences? Smile

Carlitawantsababy · 17/01/2012 22:46

Good work davina!Grin

elliebug · 17/01/2012 23:04

hummm, i like the very hungry caterpillar one :o waiting for babies is more stressful than i imagined :o
