Kayzr · 13/01/2012 12:31

No the hospital will tell us. Well they did with the first 2. We had the private scan so DP could see the baby before he went to work as he will be away for the 20 week scan.

DP has just been to the Hard Rock Cafe in Singapore and got the baby a sleepsuit from there.

Carlitawantsababy · 13/01/2012 12:56

Oh yes, I remember! Aw, bless your DP, how cute!

aBundanceOfTime · 13/01/2012 19:07

Hi all! Had a very quiet day today as I'm completely wiped out from lack of sleep at night - feeling really relaxed for the first time in ages. Have a chinese takeaway on order and I have booked the bath for the evening Smile

Carlita, thanks for the tip about the stairs, sounds fun! Grin My PGP has finally settled down again now so I'm a lot less miserable.
Congratulations on the 30weeks milestone!

Ellie, as others have said, early lactation isn't usually an issue, hope it isn't for you. Carlita, it was 12 weeks I think!

I had to have the same glucose test Mamma (assuming it's the one where you have to wait between tests for a couple of hours?), hope your appointment's nice and early so hunger's less of an issue! I suggest taking a good book and using the time to relax Smile

Aw Kayzr how sweet of your DP. That's going to be one cool baby Grin
My sister has just bought a matching t-shirt/vest combo for DS and pirate - DS's t-shirt reads 'big brother's rock' and Pirate's vest reads 'little sisters roll'. She's a massive goof is my sister Grin

Kayzr · 13/01/2012 19:11

Its a bit of thing DP and his best friend have. They've been to Cancun and went to Florida. They always get a t-shirt from the Hard Rock Cafe. So far DP has got one from Cancun, Orlando, Venice, London, Cardiff and now Singapore. Plus his friend has got the baby one from Barcelona. So it appears that Baby Turnip is joining in with the collecting clothes from there.Grin

Any other labour signs Bun?

ghosteditor · 13/01/2012 20:15

That's lovely of your DH Kayzr! My DH just realised that he hasn't bought anything independently for ppm, but he'll be the kind of dad who will make sure our child has a really fun bike and fun toys, once ppm gets to the right age for that kind of thing! He's a bit rubbish with baby clothes etc Wink.

Bun, sorry that nothing has moved on much. A bath sounds like a great idea. Any other signs for you? My BHs are back this afternoon and the baby's head is fully engaged, so the MW seems optimistic that I won't need the sweep I'm booked for next week! Fx hey?

So bored of packing Sad

ghosteditor · 15/01/2012 11:43

Just an update ladies - no babies here Sad. Any news bun?

OP posts:
elliebug · 15/01/2012 20:00

Come on babies!!!!!
Carlita, I was so bad at packing when we moved my OH and his family took over and shoo'd me out the way, I have been reliably informed if we ever move again he's booking me a holiday that week, oops, but actually I'm secretly pleased shhhh!

aBundanceOfTime · 15/01/2012 21:03

Sorry, still no news - all back to normal with random braxton hicks and nothing else. Sad

Time to watch Sherlock Grin [loser]

Davinaaddict · 15/01/2012 21:52

What, no babies yet? Come on babies, your mummies are waiting much more patiently than me Grin

Sorry about the packing Carlita - it'll be worth the effort though when you get to find lovely new homes for everything in your new house Smile I would recommend booking a moving company if your finances can stretch to that. We sold our house in the October when I was pregnant with DS, and we had an offer accepted on ours at the same time. Because of the rubbish solicitors dragging it out though, we ended up moving when DS was a week old (the last weekend in January!). Having someone to help DH, DSis & her DP, made me feel much less guilty or being so rubbish, I ended up getting taken to SIL with DS (Disclaimer - I'd had a 3 day stop/start labour followed by EMCS exactly a week before, and started with mastitis the night before we moved-I'm not usually so useless). They made it so much easier though, as they did all the lifting and put the boxes in whichever room I'd labelled the boxes with. I'm sure that your move will be sorted much quicker than ours though, and you'll be unpacked and decorated before your lovely little boy arrives Smile 10 weeks, yay! Time is flying!

Glad you'll be able to get more chances to find out for definite Kayzr And only a couple of weeks before the next scan too. How sweet of your DP to get a Hard Rock sleep suit! Love that you have a Baby Turnip this week - mines a coconut this week Grin

Love the matching t shirt & vest for Pirate and her big brother Bun Grin Hope you enjoyed your Chinese - DH is craving one at the moment, but mostly cos he's trying to lose weight Grin

I agree with Bun in hoping for an early appointment for your test Mamma

Well I've had a bit of a rubbish week this week - think I overdid it a bit at work, so I spent yesterday having quite bad pains under my bump, which of course eased of just as I was going to ring to get them checked out Hmm So I haven't done any decorating this weekend. But DH has done the glossing and the ceiling as well as the sky today, so just the grass to do now. Hopefully we'll be done for DS's birthday next weekend - yay! DH has also blown my gym ball up, so I'm now finding out just how unfit I am, just from sitting on it for a bit. Good job I've got 8 weeks to build some strength in my back, legs etc Smile

Come on babies!

Davinaaddict · 15/01/2012 21:56

And if you're a loser Bun, that makes two of us - I've sky plussed them all so we can have a Sherlock marathon when we've finished all the decorating Grin

elliebug · 15/01/2012 22:59

Me 3!! (on the loser front)

Kayzr · 16/01/2012 14:10

We have just re booked the wedding for the 5th April! We are going to have about 15 people there and then have a church blessing next year or something to have the big reception we had planned.

Carlitawantsababy · 16/01/2012 14:29

Congratulations kayzr that sounds lovely and intimate, I'm sure it'll be perfect!

ghosteditor · 16/01/2012 15:19

Congrats Kayzr! I did something very similar - just 16 of us at the ceremony then a huge party with 100 or so friends nearer to where we live now. Though we had the ceremony on Fri plus the wedding breakfast, then drive 200 miles home for the party on Saturday, then flew to NZ on Sunday, so it was all a bit exhausting!

OP posts:
Davinaaddict · 16/01/2012 17:00

Congrats Kayzr That sounds lovely! I bet you can't wait! Smile

aBundanceOfTime · 17/01/2012 11:23

Oooh Davina you will not be disapointed with your Sherlock fest, it was amazing! Smile

Kayzr, congratulations! Lovely news Smile
That's on my next list of things to do when Pirate's here, sort out our wedding - we're hoping for Aug 24th as it'll be our 10 year anniversary, fx it'll still be available! We're having a really small and intimate affair too, just a nice meal and drinks afterwards with immediate family and closest friends (we're not big party animals) Smile Hope you're planning is stress free!

I've just had <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=dandelion+moby+wrap&hl=en&sa=X&biw=1024&bih=485&tbm=isch&prmd=imvns&tbnid=93xYi3Zf4lQ6_M:&imgrefurl=www.quirkybaby.com/moby-wrap-dandelion.html&docid=G2ptbWC_ndyKZM&imgurl=www.quirkybaby.com/assets/images/designs_dandelion_300x400.jpg&w=300&h=400&ei=XFkVT8aDKoicOs2axMoC&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=749&sig=116017114385841376488&page=1&tbnh=138&tbnw=104&start=0&ndsp=14&ved=1t:429,r:1,s:0&tx=1&ty=64" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">one of these through the post - it's bloody lovely and has got me very excited about having another snuggly newborn! [soppy smile]

Carlitawantsababy · 17/01/2012 11:39

That's gorgeous bun! Grin

ghosteditor · 17/01/2012 11:51

Oh look at that! I love the Moby sling but had the chance to get a Kari-Me for £20 so that's what we have, and I can't wait to use it. One of my yoga class people brought her 2 month old daughter to class last night in a Kari-Me and it made me all smushy Smile.

I finally had a show this morning so I'm getting v excited about my 6 min HBs, but I can't help but feel that it's just another false alarm. The average first baby is born at 40+5 (median figure I think) which is today for me, so I think I'm letting that cloud my judgement!

Still, slowly does it, I guess...

OP posts:
Carlitawantsababy · 17/01/2012 12:27

Ooh ghost, a show! That's a symptom, we like symptoms! Grin I agree that the fact you are 40+5 is exciting too! Keep us posted!

ghosteditor · 17/01/2012 12:35

Thanks carlita, I will keep you updated, but the BHs have gone all random now - varying between 6-13 mins, so looks like they're dissipating a bit. Am watching a film and bouncing on my ball, and will go for a walk after lunch.

We do love a symptom though Grin

OP posts:
Davinaaddict · 17/01/2012 12:48

Ooh now I'm looking forward to Sherlock even more now! We've got a few fest's built up now, cos we're so busy at the mo. We only get time to watch one programme per night these days & sooooo much is back on (NCIS, NCIS LA, Hawaii 5-0, Hustle etc - sense a theme at all? Grin) I think our Sky Plus might pop!

An another lovely wedding to plan - I love weddings. That's the small negative about already being married, but guess we'll just have to renew our vows. Bit early though, as we've only been married 6 years this time (although together 13). We got married on our 7 year anniversary and I think it made it all the more special for us Smile
That sling is lovely! I've got a Kari-Me one too, that DS went in twice, I think! DH refused to wear it, even though I got a black one, so it wouldn't be too girly, and both me and DS used to get really warm when he was in it, so it didn't come out much. I think it will be much more useful this time round though, as I'll probably wear it more round the house.

Yay for things slowly moving ghost. I'm ignoring any news in the hope that it is the real thing for you, and we will soon have lovely smushy baby news and photos and so I don't turn into the annoying person hounding the pregnant lady who is getting seriously fed up of the baby not appearing and the people asking for news every 10 minutes Grin

ghosteditor · 17/01/2012 12:55

thanks davina! everyone has been lovely about being in touch - not in a troublesome way but just keeping me in the loop about what's happening with them and then casually asking how I'm getting on Wink. It's more that I'm annoyed with myself for just not knowing (though how I'm supposed to be sure until I'm on my knees and gurning, I'm not sure!). Thankfully I haven't reported all the wonderings to anyone except DH so they don't know about the extent of the crazy Grin.

The number of times I've turned on my pregnancy app to count contractions though that makes me a crazy person I'm sick of seeing the damn thing now..

OP posts:
Davinaaddict · 17/01/2012 13:23

That's good then - its so hard trying to keep busy at that stage, so you don't think too much about what's happening (or not in my case last time!). I spent about 2 weeks literally sat on the sofa just waiting. I think that's probably why DS wasn't in a good position when things finally got moving. Hope your managing to keep occupied and not driving yourself round the bend too much Smile

Davinaaddict · 17/01/2012 13:23

Grrr - of course I meant you're!
