Things may be hotting up here. Have been getting light contractions since 10.30 this morning, nothing particularly strong or regular but has got more so since starting. Have had a bath, repacked hospital bag, cleaned the toilet(!) and have just sat down for some food. Feeling pretty unsettled and narky at the moment.
DP is working just down the road so can be here pretty quickly if needs be.
God I hope it doesn't settle down - the idea of being able to walk is getting more and more real! and baby snuggles too of course! Wink

MammaInTheMaking · 11/01/2012 13:59

Yikes Bun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oooh this thread has really become very exciting over the last couple of days! Come on baby Bun and baby Ghost!

My sweet potato will be turning into a new veg/fruit tomorrow. I wonder what it could be!

Kayzr · 11/01/2012 14:03

Oooooh Bun I hope this is it!!! Sending lots of labour vibes.

Davinaaddict · 11/01/2012 14:50

Ok, over a page to catch up on!

Thanks all for the lovely comments about DS's room - I do love it and I know it will be a good nursery for Disco baby regardless of whether its a girl or a boy Smile I love all the ideas you ladies are looking at too, and agree with Carlita's devil on the shoulder comment for us all too [evil grin]

Thanks for the tip about breathing through the BH Carlita. I hadn't heard that so have been trying ignore them mostly. Luckily they've not been too painful yet, but that may change so I'll try to practice my breathing now. Not so sure you'll want to hear my birth story, but I'll share it you want - it might scare you more than help, but it can't have been so bad as I'm doing it again Grin Lovely scan photos!

Glad you had a good scan ellie and great you get an extra one. I was the same with DS, thinking he was a girl most of the way through my pregnant, so it was a surprise when out popped a little boy Smile

Gosh Bun your PGP sounds awful Sad. It's good that you're mum is coming to help out. I think I would probably end up killing having a massive argument if my mum was staying around for any more than about a weekend. Can you tell she does my head in big style? Grin Hopefully, yours will be lovely and not too annoying. Oooh just seen tour latest post! Come on Baby Bun!!!

Sorry about your DP being away for so long Kayzr - that sounds like it will be really hard Sad. Good to hear that you have family to help and hopefully your boys can help out a little bit too. Fingers crossed that the SDP doesn't come back and that the baby doesn't decide to make an early appearance. Having him at home for 8 weeks will be lovely though! Don't beat yourself up too much about not driving. I have a feeling I won't be driving for too much longer as I won't be able to reach! I'm a short arse and the bump is starting to get in the way a bit now Confused trope's idea of a scooter is brilliant!

Hi trope Hats off to the epic catch up post again! I totally agree with your comment about our bodies doing a number on us - how on earth do the celebs do it?!? Your physio sounds amazing Grin It's so nice to hear about really great care, when there are so many negative stories about. I missed being pregnant after having DS but it was fleeting, and I don't think I'll miss it so much this time Grin

Come on Ghost baby! Can't wait for the first live birth thread (always a sucker for them!) See if watching OBEM sets you off tonight Grin

So exciting now! Makes my MW app this morning really boring! But the news is, I now have low blood pressure, combined with trace protein in my urine (sorry TMI). The MW isn't worried because of the BP but has said to go back if needs be or any other symptoms appear. Everything else is all normal pregnancy stuff so no need to worry about anything. I asked her about raspberry leaf tea in supplements (I hate any tea other than Yorkshire tea!), and she didn't know but said she'd find out for my next appointment. It's hard to find out anything really as there is so much conflicting advice out there - the only consistent thin is advising against it if you've had a CS before (which is why I asked).

Still no one to take over me when I'm off on mat leave Sad But we've got a 2 day strategy & planning session tomorrow & Friday so hoping we can come up with a plan B.

And on top of everything else, I think my Dads marriage is about to break up Sad. So am currently being a counsellor for him as well Sad So enough of me being a whinge bag - there's a thread in Pregnancy for that! Grin

Come on babies! Sending loads of downwards thoughts and holding hands Grin

Carlitawantsababy · 11/01/2012 15:20

Sorry things aren't great davina Sad well done for epic catch up!
C'mon pirate baby!!!!GrinGrinGrin
There's another programme to watch tonight if you're interested, 'how to be a good mother' channel 4 at 10pm. Grin

Davinaaddict · 11/01/2012 15:27

Thanks Carlita have set the Sky plus! Only trouble is because I'm not lazing about pretending to work working from home tomorrow or Friday, I wont be able to watch them until Monday! Grrr Grin

aBundanceOfTime · 11/01/2012 17:05

Thanks everyone Smile just a quick update: nothing's happening! Angry Have had a lie down and a sneaky nap with DS and I'm feeling exactly the same as before. Very annoying! Looks like my body's getting ready (at least I bloody hope it is!) but could be a while yet.

Will try and come back later to post properly.

ghosteditor · 11/01/2012 17:54

Hi bun, I'm going through something similar, but nothing firm yet. 40 weeks tomorrow; had about 20 hours of contractions from yesterday morning, at their peak about 6.5 mins frequency (so 5 mins apart) but then all calmed down for several hours. Not painful, but quite uncomfortable. Then when I was out an about this afternoon they started up again and are stronger and more uncomfortable but something like 15 mins apart (not counting as too stressful). It's so frustrating isn't it!!! C'mon babies!!!

MammaInTheMaking · 11/01/2012 19:32

Come on babies Grin am watching this thread like a hawk!

Davinaaddict · 11/01/2012 20:11

Me too & I know that as I'm out tomorrow and Friday, sods law says that one will come tomorrow & one on Friday Grin

Carlitawantsababy · 11/01/2012 20:59

Yay! C'mon babies! Grin

aBundanceOfTime · 11/01/2012 22:17

Sorry to disappoint but still haven't moved on. Contractions got quite regular earlier but after dinner (curry) and a bath they're now very infrequent and weaker. Lots of back pain though.
Ugh Ghost can't imagine how fed up you are by now! I've only been going for 12 hours with this malarkey! Best wishes to you!

I really wasn't expecting this this time round, what with DS being such a quick and straightforward labour, I thought this would be a breeze! Pah! Hmm

Oh well, am going to take some paracetamol to hopefully help with the back pain, watch some crazy woman cook a placenta and go to bed! Will keep you posted Smile

MammaInTheMaking · 11/01/2012 23:00

Crazy woman eating a placenta, omg. Just seen it and horrified! Smile

Davinaaddict · 12/01/2012 04:37

I was hoping me being awake at half past 4 would mean that something might be happening Grin Hope you're feeling a bit better though Bun, and managing to get some sleep.

aBundanceOfTime · 12/01/2012 09:56

Seems like everything's stopped today! Half annoyed, half relieved that I can get a break!
Last night's sleep was poo. Kept waking up with painful hips and back, was sick at 2am and then we were all rudely awoken by the fire alarm at 5am (one of those big shouty systems in communal hallways). Thank goodness it was a false alarm but bloody hell is that a horrible way to be woken up - the instant fear! Shock
Not feeling particularly rested today! Grin

ghosteditor · 12/01/2012 10:07

Hi bun, all stopped here too - not sure I'm even having BHs! So much for a punctual due date baby! However, I had a fab night's sleep so feel very rested at least! Sorry to hear about your fire alarm fiasco - can you nap today?

OP posts:
Carlitawantsababy · 12/01/2012 10:36

Aw, sorry to hear that ghost and bun!
bun are you going up and down stairs on your bum? My aqua natal instructor told me last night that your pelvis stays completely neutral in that position. I am most happy as stairs are the single worst thing for my PGP!

Kayzr · 12/01/2012 19:33

The baby is still not wanting to show it's bits off. Or anything else for that matter. Still got 80% chance of a girl though.

Davinaaddict · 12/01/2012 20:08

Sorry to hear that ladies - hope things get moving soon but secretly glad I haven't missed it Grin

Did you get some good pictures Kayzr? It must be a girl as the boy are always showing off their bits Wink Oh hang on - that's after they're born Grin Good you've got a bit of an idea though - are you brave enough to start buying girl things, or are you going to stick with neutral for now?

elliebug · 12/01/2012 22:15

Does that mean you get another scan kayzr?! I got told today I've developed a waddle!! Fun timesSmile

Sorry if this is tmi ladies, but I was wondering if anyone else had had errr leakage from their nipples?! Blush only noticed cos I got a new black bra, yuck!! I'm a bit weirded out and my OH's jokes about being too scared to go hear me in case I squirt him in the eye seem a bit less funny now!!!hummm

On a lighter note, come on babies!!!!!

ghosteditor · 12/01/2012 22:58

Hey Ellie, not TMI, we love the gory details here Smile. I've had the tiniest bit of leaky colostrum from about 17 weeks onwards - no problems, no change or major leakage, no spurting(!) - I know others on the Jan list have too, but not all. It's a special leaky-boob club Grin

OP posts:
Carlitawantsababy · 13/01/2012 09:31

How annoying kayzr! Will you get any other scans?
Yes ellie, I had colostrum showing from early on too (oddly I remember it was the same stage as bun but not what stage that was Blush 15 weeks?) but in the form of a crust (nice) rather than leakage! It shouldn't get to spurting stage because although that shows you are producing it the progesterone 'holds it in' to an extent I believe! Are OH's comments due to an increase in size do you think? I went and did my (hopefully) final bra shopping the other day, thought I had better lose the underwire Sad and got a nursing bra with a bit of extra room in it (totally guessing) but at £30 a pop I don't want to have to buy another one if I grow some more (please no)! Luckily it's one of the prettiest ones I've ever had! Grin
30 weeks today, 10 to go! Grin

MammaInTheMaking · 13/01/2012 10:44

30 weeks Carlita! I remember when you got your BFP :o

I have to go for one of those glucose tests at 26 weeks. No food/drink for 12 hours. I'm going to be absolutely ravenous!

Kayzr · 13/01/2012 12:02

I will have my 20 week scan and I need to have a growth scan. So hopefully I will be able to find out.

Carlita I can't believe you are 30 weeks as I remember your BFP too.

Carlitawantsababy · 13/01/2012 12:17

OMG mamma I'd eat the nurse! kayzr I was thinking you'd still have a 20 week scan as that one was 16/17 weeks ish? You should have a good chance between that and the growth scan. I wondered though if you have that 16 week one privately because your hospital are reluctant to tell?
