Grin

Sitting here watching the oh so yummy Bear Grylls and have had a thought don't ask why I'm having such considerations whilst drooling over my second husband

Has anyone considered a .... ahem.... hair style for labour? Not wanting to attempt a DIY job doubt I could reach past my stomach anyway but similarly, don't want to be looking like I'm making a radical feminist statement.

Dh thinks I should opt for a Hollywood. I think he should sleep in the garden.

Anyone else? Did you / are you planning to "style those curly locks"? I can't be the only person who has considered this???

I am, aren't I? Anticipating nowt but hysteria from you all, I hate you.

babybrain3 · 22/03/2012 20:42

I really need to have my locks ahem, taken care of, but was a bit unsure whether it would be ok Blush... But would just have the bog standard sides and top bit done... What does a Hollywood entail?? (intrigued emoticon)

elliebug · 22/03/2012 20:44

Fools, I was neat and tidy before getting pregnant thanks to a monthly wax, this has been too painful recently and as I can't see below my tummy button I haven't bothered, however, I am booking in for a tidy up soon!! I'm worried if I have a section they might want to shave me! Ow.
My legs are in the same state! Wax booked for 4th aprilShock

foolserrand · 22/03/2012 20:55

Babybrain, the Hollywood is, apparently, all gone.

Ellie as someone who has never had anything waxed before, does it hurt?

By the way, thank you for not just laughing! :o

TroubleAndFyfe · 22/03/2012 21:02

kayzr that's my favourite label for baby clothes, their stuff is amazing!
fools first thing I did when waters broke Blush DIY job of course, was fine standing, with mirror! Grin

Kayzr · 22/03/2012 21:10

fools I had mine done once. Never ever again!!! Having it waxed was the most painful thing I have ever experienced. More painful than breaking leg playing rugby and more painful than having an over 10lb baby with no pain relief!!!

I have an electric razor for that and it works really well and then take off the rest with veet stuff.

elliebug · 22/03/2012 21:13

Well I shaved once and it was awful when it regrew, it is better the more you have it done cos the root gets damaged and the hair doesn't hold on so much!!! It does hurt more when preg according to my beautitian I will be a regular once baby us born though, it's so much better than shaving Smile well in my opinion

babybrain3 · 22/03/2012 21:17

I always used to take paracetemol and ibuprofen before I went, however obviously won't be able to do that now-hence my reluctance to go now!! Confused

foolserrand · 22/03/2012 21:18

Trouble, I knew you'd reply! :o

Dh is a twat has offered to help. Only if I can do it first, buddy. Whoops. He has now been sent out for ice cream.

May book myself in or may chicken out. Was going to get my toes painted anyway... but that doesn't hurt.

Am actually giggling to myself now. Imagining a hot pink mowhawk and sitting down to peruse the style book. I can't laugh this much, pelvic floor just isn't strong enough! Oh, what about a monk cut?

I am grown up enough for kids, honest....

elliebug · 22/03/2012 21:22

I often book on for a pedicure at the same time, I take codeine if I'm feeling wimpy!! They gave me codeine in hosp so will risk a small dose as a preventative measure!!

elliebug · 22/03/2012 21:23

Ps, if you go for it I don't really want to see a pic thanks GrinGrin

foolserrand · 22/03/2012 21:30

:o if you're sure, ellie. I'm loving the idea of a monk style.!

aBundanceOfTime · 22/03/2012 21:59

Do we think Davina is having a baby?? I really hope so Smile

babybrain3 · 23/03/2012 07:01

I think she is, bet it was the kitchen floor that did it!!! Hope it's going well! Grin

foolserrand · 23/03/2012 07:12

Got my pom poms going! Come on baby Dav!! GrinGrin

Stupid phone is struggling with so many messages, I've had to swap to my iPod. Not good.Angry

Apologies if my phone posts my original one at some point in the next few weeks!

Davinaaddict · 23/03/2012 07:24

Hi ladies - sorry to disappoint but no news yet Sad Back to see that lovely doctor today though, for a scan and probably a sweep.

I wasn't ignoring the thread - was at the MIL's all day yesterday. I'm not sureIll get an invite back though. We went up to Morrisons for a cup of coffee & to meet my SIL & niece (which is a regular event). I was making sure DS was behaving i.e. not climbing up the high chair, or running to the window on his own etc. but apparently that's what he normally does! I was quite Hmm & Angry but I kept quiet about it but still carried on stopping him I know it will confuse him if he's normally allowed to do it, but it will probably confuse him more if I'm not consistent with his behaviour. And I'm not having a badly behaved child when we are out like my dear great nephew who is a nightmare Clearly I'm far too strict Hmm But DH said he had the same response, when he went up once, so at least the 2 of us are on the same page Grin

Thanks for cheering me up with all the hair style ideas Grin I'm just a bit trimmed at the moment (DIY job). I'm not too fussed though, as I'm sure the MW's have seen much worse and will be concentrating on other things. Or at least I hope so! Grin I'm quite surprised no-ones mentioned a vajazzle though? Fancy a 'Welcome Baby' one?Grin You could colour code it for those of you who know what you're having Grin

Word of warning on the pedicure though - if you have painted toe nails and want an epidural, or need a CS they will remove the varnish so they can monitor blood flow. And if it's anything like my experience they only take it off the big toes - a great look Confused

Right, best get my lazy arse out of bed, as DS is waking up. I'll let you all know how the appointment goes.

PS really sorry fools! Have added you now, so you should be able to see the photos Blush

elliebug · 23/03/2012 07:40

Fingers crossed for later Smile I guess if they ruin the nail varnish you just have to have another pedicure Grin errr any chance I could see your photos too? I finally got on pc to have a nosey and I couldn't see most people's Sad maybe I should take the hint!!!! Smile

Kayzr · 23/03/2012 07:43

Oh Davina!! I was so hoping there was going to be a baby Grin

When I had DS1 the girl opposite me in the ward was having a CS. She had a right fit when they said she needed to shave down there and remove her nail varnish. She was refusing to let them do the CS until her mum told her to stop acting like a spoilt brat Grin

babybrain3 · 23/03/2012 07:47

Sad davina hope today's appt goes well. Grin

TroubleAndFyfe · 23/03/2012 08:11

Grin hahahaha davina loving the welcome baby vajazzle idea, maybe you should pilot it? Grin would love to know if the midwives kept a straight face! Grin
Good luck with the appointment today!
You could see my photos right ellie?
How are you getting on babybrain? Smile

Davinaaddict · 23/03/2012 08:16

Thanks ladies Smile

ellie you should already be able to see them? Confused

TroubleAndFyfe · 23/03/2012 08:25

Today is my EDD btw! Fyfe is 22 days old! I'm going to try to find out which box the wii is in today so I can weigh him on wii fit, just for fun though I believe they put in around double the amount of weight on the outside! Grin
