my name list

TroubleAndFyfe · 20/03/2012 18:30

Done fools Grin
How did the appointments go kayzr and ellie?

TroubleAndFyfe · 20/03/2012 18:31

Sorry, just saw yours went well kayzr, good!
ellie?

Davinaaddict · 20/03/2012 19:04

So another day with no baby yet! Still pottering round doing the odds & sods that don't really need doing, but keep me busy and ignoring the fact that I've still not done the kitchen floor yet Grin Maybe tomorrow ....

Sounds like you're having fun Kayzr Smile Glad baby is moving lots again - they are little buggers to frighten us like that. Your cake is brill! I made a Guiness chocolate cake for DH's 40th and it was rubbish! Well, the taste was good, but design wise it was shocking Grin So I'm dreading the requests for anything more adventurous than a round Victoria sponge - I suspect the supermarket will be my friend Smile Glad the gtt went well, even though it was a horrid experience Sad Fingers crossed for a positive result

Now that it's out in the open, the fun will begin babybrain Smile It's so much easier when you can talk about it, especially not making up excuses for not eating/drinking etc

Great news on being transferred back to MW care Mamma

Hope they've let you back out ellie Smile

Wish I could have seen the dance fools Grin I was really amazed at how relieved I was once, I'd made the decision not to go ahead. Neither DH nor I realised just how much it was affecting me until afterwards. It's not really a surprise I didn't go into labour, when I was feeling so uptight. I wish there were more like her too - it was so nice to be listened to and supported in coming to the right decision for us. I know this is my 2nd but, it is only my 2nd IYKWIM. You wouldn't train someone at work once, then expect them to know everything, so why do they do it with mums? Our house is full of Fireman Sam and Thomas too - DS is nuts on both. In fact he's just walked through the door in his FMS tshirt Smile. Mostly I don't mind it, although when he starts doing his firemans pole down our legs in public, it gets a bit embarrassing Grin We're trying to find an open day nearby so we take him for a look around. Glad the potty training is going well. Furniture wise we went for the full shebang with DS - cotbed, which he went into at about 4 months, wardrobe, chest of drawers and a bookcase (pictures of his first room on my profile). The thinking behind it was, it was plain enough to last him a good period of time, before we redo his room. We want to do the same with DC2, as s/he will be having that room now DS has moved to the other room. Unfortunately we've found out that they've actually discontinued that range Sad They do do another practically identical set, but its not at the factory outlet yet (Mamas & Papas). But they do have 20% off the main catalogue, so we're toying with the idea of just biting the bullet and buying the expensive one, as it's really good quality and we like the set not fussy at all, me Grin If we don't, we could end up missing out if it doesn't actually make it to the outlet, and then we'd be back to square one. Decisions, decisions!

Glad things are working out with the bottles and dummy's Bun. DS has a dummy too and it really helped us to settle him in the early days. We were hoping to have taken it off him before now, but with the timing of the new baby, we decided to wait until afterwards. He's had quite a lot of change recently with moving bedrooms, hanging from cot to bed and moving up a room at creche, so we thought it would probably be easier for all of us, to try when things calm down. He does only have it for bed though.

elliebug · 20/03/2012 21:10

I escaped!! I was there for nearly 3 hours cos they wanted a ctg which made me late for appt then consultant wanted to see me but he kept getting interrupted! Oh well Smile he was really pleased with how I've done since going home and baby was too wiggly for ctg, they couldn't get a baseline or something! So pleased about that Grin also my manager has managed to sort it so I can be off sick until I was supposed to go on mat leave so now I need to get a gp appt to get one! At lease I'll still get a few extra weeks with baby Smile
I'm having a bit of a baby name wobble, we'd picked our girls name and told NO ONE! And yesterday I found out an unfavourable celeb had used it and a thread in baby names being a bit mean about it Confused now I'm a bit unsure, sigh, really should stop reading the baby name threadsSmile

TroubleAndFyfe · 21/03/2012 05:15

Glad it is going so well bun, sorry, forgot to say earlier!
davina you sound much happier, I'm so pleased for you. I must say I thought the same re you going in to labour, all the stress wasn't exactly putting you in the right 'place' was it?
ellie glad you got out! Absolutely brilliant news about work, must be a weight off your mind! Grin

Davinaaddict · 21/03/2012 07:41

Glad you got out ellie and that your appointment went well. I'm very curious about your name choice now though Grin Don't listen to anyone else's opinion. If you love it, then it will be perfect anyway. Smile

Thanks Trouble - I did feel like practically skipping out of the hospital on Monday Grin Although I'm now 11 days over and still no signs Confused. I'm really hoping things start to move in the next few days. Last time the first signs were at 40+13 though, so you never know. Although if I remember correctly, I'd had about 3 sweeps by then!

I've just realised that we will now be having an Aries baby instead of a Pisces one. DS was supposed to be Capricorn, but is actually Aquarius, so I guess it runs in the family!

In other boring news, I think today is the day for tackling that kitchen floor Grin It's going to take me ages to get it done properly as its pretty big - mopping never seems to get it properly clean, so it's a hands and knees job Confused Wish me luck Grin

TroubleAndFyfe · 21/03/2012 15:27

We got a Pisces instead of an Aries. All my best friends, my sister and husband are Pisces too. How's the floor going davina? Smile

Davinaaddict · 21/03/2012 16:19

We've got a real mix in our family, but this will be the first Aries.

The floor is all finished! Took me ages but I've also washed down my table and chairs as well Grin Now sat on my ass watching crappy day time tv Grin

Have you ladies tried the chocolate Philadelphia yet? It's scrumptious on digestive biscuits Grin

TroubleAndFyfe · 21/03/2012 16:46

I wanted to try it, got to do the shopping when I can be arsed to go upstairs and get the laptop in a minute so will order along with digestives, was wondering what to have it with! Grin
Well done on all the cleaning, I have done bugger all again today, had a lie in, nice long bath with Fyfe, had a friend visit from London and spent an hour on the phone with another friend. Cleaning is pointless here till decorating is done so may as well make the most of it!Grin

elliebug · 21/03/2012 17:43

Ah s£&t I just ate a whole bag of haribo bunnies Blush
Trouble, i can wait for baby baths Grin
well done davina for your cleaning, I just cba! I've emptied some baby clothes out of packets into washing baskets ready to wash and line dry tomorrow, I think that's enough for one day Smile how excessive is the packaging baby clothes come in!!! A bit of cardboard in every vest!!! At least I can recycle it, have also tried to pack as hospital bag after last week, but what the hell do you put in one?? I've read lists online but still struggling, oh well, afternoon tv will make everything clear.

Davinaaddict · 21/03/2012 19:16

That sounds like such a lovely day trouble EnvyGrin I haven't moved off the sofa since my last post - surprisingly I'm knackered now! I was planning on popping to the shops but too late now. Not that I can be bothered Grin Maybe tomorrow Wink

Mmmmm Haribo! I've given up Haribo for lent, so very Envy about that too! That sounds like you've done plenty ellie Smile I know what you mean about the packaging though. There is so much these days, but as you say, at least some of it can be recycled. Although it would be better not to bother in the first place.

elliebug · 21/03/2012 21:18

OBEM is a bit close to home this week, why am I watching this on my own Confused

Kayzr · 21/03/2012 21:36

Ellie I want haribo!! I have no idea why we watch OBEM. I find I'm always really drawn to it when they mention big babies.

We are poorly again. Poor little DS1 spent last night coughing with a temperature. At least he enjoyed his birthday before feeling ill.

DP has all the flights booked. He lands at Leeds at 0950 Saturday morning. Grin

My lovely MIL(to be) is coming round Sunday to order the pram for us. Never ever considered anyone but us paying for it but PILs are insisting.

Hope everyone is well. Smile

babybrain3 · 22/03/2012 07:19

Which pram did you decide on kayzr?

Kayzr · 22/03/2012 07:24

We're getting the babystyle Oyster. Its the only one we've found that we really like and fits in the boot.

foolserrand · 22/03/2012 07:47

waves to everyone this post comes to you from my stunning new bed sheets as I am refusing to get up until ds starts scavenging.

Davina - I really feel for you now. But it seems a few more days is all you'll need. Can only see your scan photos though.

ellie - I'm afraid we might need to know the name. If you love it that much though, who cares who else has a child with that name? I don't even know which slebs have just had a baby, so am blissfully oblivious to their name choices.

Trouble - that does sound like a good day. Wish I could get away with not cleaning!

Kayzr no. You are not allowed to get sick again. As an aside, my filthy little phone has actually just ac'ed sick to dick. I may need to reconsider my choice of language. Blush

Dh has taken charge on the furniture front and is buying me the expensive stuff because, thanks to hormones, I cried when I decided it was too much

Midwife appt yesterday was.... rushed as ever. She prodded me so much, I had some awful Braxton Hicks. A few took my breath away and had me rather worried. Stopped now, thank goodness. Not as impressive as last time when I put myself into false labour with the sub in my car mind! [Blush]

Ds was incredibly adorable last night. He fell asleep in his dinner, so I changed him and put him to bed early. Went upstairs myself a few hours later and the little bugger was star shaped across my entire bed. And wouldn't let me move him for hours. It was lovely having sleepy cuddles with him though.

Well, my attempt to hide in bed has been ruined. Forgot Scottish Power were due between 8 and 1 and there's currently a white van parked across the drive so I'm up and dressed. Grrr. Would be helpful if he came in before dh returns with the dogs as they are stupid and big and get in the way. Still, managed to create a barrier in the hall with chairs and the vacuum. Not anything that will actually stop them, but makes strangers feel safer when there is a blockade in place. We had one idiot last week who jumped onto the 3rd rung of a ladder to escape my baying hounds. It was fab because he was a proper laddy, worker type. Big and burly. My reaction was simply to giggle, point out that rotties can jump 6 ft if the feel the need and then loudly explain to ds that some people are scared of harmless things, like his dog.

Ok, I'm spewing rubbish now so am off. Hope that floor cleaning had an affect, Davina. Have you tried ironing a mammoth load? Sets my hicks off nicely.

TroubleAndFyfe · 22/03/2012 09:33

Grin fools you do make me giggle! Love the bit about the dogs, always makes me laugh when big burly men are frightened of my little dog too. Actually found it quite odd that anyone was scared of my dog at first as wanted one since I was a child as thought them so hilarious looking! My dog looks like this: www.google.co.uk/search?tbm=isch&source=mog&hl=en&gl=uk&client=safari&tab=wi&q=english%20bull%20terrier&sa=N&biw=320&bih=356&sei=P_FqT5uVIIH80QW564XqBg%23i=60 Grin

TroubleAndFyfe · 22/03/2012 09:34

Oops, wrong link, she looks specifically like this: www.picturenation.co.uk/image/view/preview/168238/English-Bull-Terrier

foolserrand · 22/03/2012 10:54

I love bull terriers! They always look so happy. There's one living near us and he's lovely, my girl adores playing with him. We've got two idiot rottweilers. My pfb boy is 60 kg and is the softest idiot around. PAT qualified, doesn't retaliate in a fight, ds can walk him yet people cross the road. The other one is smaller and painfully smart but not as sociable and more territorial. I always have a little chuckle when people stop to fuss her (she's a bit foxy looking and is blatantly a cross breed despite having her forged papers) and stay for him.

Ok, really do need to get off mn now before ds successfully paints the big one, not that the dog will mind. He's very obliging when it comes to the midget.

Kayzr · 22/03/2012 13:21

Oh Fools I love rottweilers. Gorgeous gorgeous dogs. All the ones I have known look like big hard dogs, but would actually probably hide from a burgler.

We have a golden retriever, I do love him but occasionally look at the fur and wonder why we didn't get a hairless chinese crestedGrin

I had a trial run for my wedding hair this morning, Very very pleased with it. Now trying to take it all down again.

elliebug · 22/03/2012 14:16

i am afraid i am one of those people who is scared of dogs Blush apparently wheni was little one came up to me in my pushchair and did some very loud barking!! i am ok with little ones that dont jump or lick!! and bigger ones if they are well behaved :) kayzr have just managed to see your cake pic, am v impressed.
i am on my 3rd load of baby related washing and trying to decide if the cute little babygrows need ironing Confused maybe just this once? its not like i have anything better to do! looks at huge pile of ironing and smelly hamsters

elliebug · 22/03/2012 14:27

also, am 32 weeks tomorrow, do you think im ok to start on the RLT? am thinking that i prob only have 6 weeks left (wooo) don;t want to leave it too late?

TroubleAndFyfe · 22/03/2012 15:19

Yes for RLT ellie! Get on it!
Grin for wedding hair kayzr!
Your dogs sound lovely fools!
We're had another lovely day, lazy morning then a 2 hour walk with Fyfe and the dog, walked to the cliff, down in to the old town, along the beach, stopped at a cafe for an ice cream, got the funicular railway back up to the top of the cliff [lazy] and home, weather is glorious, proper t shirt weather. I love my new job! Grin

MammaInTheMaking · 22/03/2012 15:32

Your life sounds like bliss trouble, i want some of that too! I nipped out at lunch for a sandwich and although i was breathing in lovely central London pollution, i was still on cloud 9 that it's so sunny and warm. Spring is one of the best times, everything just comes to life and people SMILE!

Aaawww Ellie, so cute you're getting the baby clothes washed and sorted out. You'll iron them now and then never again (or that'll be me anyway!). So lovely to get everything looking as gorgeous and perfect. I'm thinking about the RLT too, although i'm a bit early yet. But I'll start popping those capsules around 32 weeks too.

Things with me are good, 29 weeks today (butternut squash). GTT came back normal. Baby is still doing loads of moving, but all a lot gentler. Rather than kicks, it seems to be full on belly tremors as if the baby has just changed position. And also it now pushes hard on my belly. It's head down and the pushing is where I think its bum is, am loving the image of it burrowing it's bum into me tummy. Am so bored at work and don't have much to do that today i wrote my birth plan and also my ideal return to work/childcare schedule. A combination of office and home working, nursery care and grandparents helping a day a week. I'm going to show it to my mum and see if it's a goer. Am quite happy with how my birth plan reads too.

Davina am hoping your silence today on this thread is because things are happening. As others have said, pom poms are right next to me ready to be shaken!
