Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Kayzr · 08/03/2012 10:38

Woo 25 weeks today! Just 15 to go.

Just been to see the MW and everything is fine. I don't think that baby likes the doppler, it always takes ages to find the heartbeat and today she actually kicked it a few times.

Babybrain I had no ms with the boys at all. Not a thing. Actually with DS1 I had no symptoms at all until about 30 weeks when I started to get heartburn. I don't get up to wee every night even now.

MammaInTheMaking · 08/03/2012 13:43

oh lord, had a hormonal melt down last night. Just felt so isolated and tired and overwhelmed. DP was at work leaving drinks, came home late and today has gone to a stag do in Germany. I don't have a problem with any of that because we're both very relaxed about what eachother does socially but for last night I was just wished he'd been there. Feeling a bit bruised today about feeling so low last night. Duno where it came from :(

On a happier note, there's a 27 week cauliflower in my belly :) Lime-baby is cute Baby

Agree that symptoms come and go. I went through a few weeks of not getting up in the night around 12-15 weeks. But now i'm going to the loo twice a night and waking up every time I need to roll over (probably explains my tiredness).

Carlitawantsababy · 08/03/2012 17:47

mamma Sad bloody hormones, they leave you so out of control sometimes don't they? It can be like waking up after getting drunk and thinking did I really say/do that? Hope you are feeling better about it now? Just think, you could have a baby in ten weeks! Grin

MammaInTheMaking · 08/03/2012 17:57

Thanks Carlita it's really sweet of you to say Smile I definitely feel better but just proper tired which is making me feel a bit weepy. However I'm making meatballs and spaghetti for dinner which I'm looking forward to Grin. Oohhhh 10 weeks! I can't wait to meet the wiggler, my heart could burst with how much I love this baby. Oh jeez, I'm defo hormonal right now!! Have been receiving my eBay purchases and they're sooo cute! I'm really liking the Scandinavian (being half Finnish!) designs out there. So lovely and bright and bold. Plus is quite easy to find unisex stuff.

Carlitawantsababy · 08/03/2012 19:40

Ooh yes, the Scandinavian stuff is gorgeous! Grin just wait until you have your baby, I regularly feel like my heart is going to burst, me and DH both well up just looking at him (and DH is not generally a teary person!) he is just so incredible. It's lovely how much you love your baby already, you'll make a wonderful mummy. Just remember that your hormones have very important work to do so sometimes everyone just has to put up with the downsides. Chocolate, ice cream and your duvet are your friends! Glad you're feeling better! Smile

Davinaaddict · 08/03/2012 22:03

Hi ladies. Well I'm still here, although not sure for how much longer Confused Feeling like crap, back & bump aches but no 'real' labour signs yet. Not had a show, waters breaking or any contractions, but feeling like I'm very much in limbo Sad Baby is ridiculously low still and I keep getting shooting pains in my lady bits if I move in a certain way Blush I've actually decided to take some paracetamol cos I feel so crap Sad But last day at work tomorrow and not much to do so am thinking if nothing changed then I'll spend tomorrow cleaning the kitchen/dining room floor. Maybe that way, I'll get a baby arriving on his/her due date Smile Sorry for self indulgent & whinging post - I feel better for getting that off my chest.

Sorry you're going through such a crappy time trope It sounds terrible Sad

Apologies for another rubbish catch up - I seem to be mostly feeling like a lurker at the moment. Hopefully once I've caught up on some rest and actually finished work, I'll be able to catch up properly.

aBundanceOfTime · 08/03/2012 22:49

Oh lordy, don't apologise Davina we want to hear about every little twinge because we're so excited! now is the hardest time imo - time seems to drag so much and you drive yourself crazy waiting for D-day, over analysing every change - I did anyway! It's like the 2ww! Hope it's not 2 weeks though!! Grin
Can't believe you're still working! Amazing. Hope you manage to get a good night's sleep.

Went to have a look at a play school for DS today, he's due to start the beginning of April so I've left it really late to find a place for him Blush Feel really bad, the time has just crept up on me so quickly! Anyway, the place looks really nice, just waiting to see if they have any space for him, FX!
Was really proud of him today, an older boy (about 4) came over and kicked all the cars DS was playing with, sending them flying - DS stood up, looked him square in the eyes and told him "Naughty! Don't kick toys, they brake!" Grin I was so glad I made myself bite my tongue to see how DS would deal with the situation himself, was bloody hard though!

Carlitawantsababy · 09/03/2012 05:38

Ooh davina! Exciting, you're going to have your little one really soon! Grin keep us posted on the twinges!
bun how good of your DS, he sounds so cute. Not quite as impressive as Lilly's precise waking time but Fyfe is spot on every 3 hours with his little 'change me' squeaky noises, 8 minutes past the hour all day yesterday and throughout the night, am currently feeding him from the 5.08 wake up.. Grin

babybrain3 · 09/03/2012 07:02

Thanks for the advice ladies, I made up for it last night by waking up twice for the toilet, and having very strange dreams about terrorist attacks on Leicester when the queen was there.... I guess I knew everything was ok anyway as I hadn't had any bleeding or anything-it's just worrying when you start to feel normal after so long.

Bun the lime baby is sooo cute!!!

babybrain3 · 09/03/2012 07:04

davina good luck on your last day at work!! That must feel soooo good!! Sounds like the nesting instinct is kicking in if you want to start cleaning floors!!! Hope it all goes to plan!! ?

Carlitawantsababy · 09/03/2012 09:13

Glad you had to get up to wee again babybrain Wink nice to have some physical reassurance! Smile
Hope your last day at work's a good one davina!
I would be 38 weeks today and my baby is as long as the pillow he's laying on! Grin

trope · 09/03/2012 14:14

thanks for all the support folks - it really helps :)

I had my GTT yesterday - as Mamma said, they're not too bad! The tropical squash stuff is pretty foul, but bearable. I had my bloods taken (from the one poor scarred up vein in my arm that actually gives out any blood to needles!) and they also did my BP/urine check as my hands/feet/ankles have been puffing up a bit (all normal). I got my results this afternoon - the GTT came back completely normal - which is great! But it does mean we have no explanation for the sudden growth of fuzzy!

carlita Between the last 2 scans (a mere 14 days apart) fuzzy has put on 28oz! That's 2oz a day! If fuzzy kept this rate of growth up, he'd be about 11 pounds at 40 weeks! (and would have one hell of a belly!!)

The biggest concern is the sudden shooting up of the abdominal circumference - he'd been comfortably hovering just over the 50th centile on this, the scan before this one he jumped up to about the 80th, then at this one he was literally off the scale (you get this little illustration on your scan report - imagine a 1.5cm tall capital I laid on its side, the left end is the 3rd percentile, the right is the 97th - a little line scores through the middle to show the 50th and they put a little diamond on the line to show where your result sits. Fuzzy is about 3mm off the right hand end of the "I"..) Usually a sudden jump in abdominal circumference is caused by gestational diabetes, hence the urgent GTT. As that is fine, I'm hoping it's just sonographer error, as it's a bit odd otherwise.

There's no history of big babies in my family and i'm petite (5'3" and usually a size 8-10, very much not a curvy wide hipped woman!) so an 11lb baby would be pretty damn hard to deliver! Not least with the restricted range of motion I have in my hips/pelvis!

Obviously I'm really pleased that the GTT has come back fine - but i'm a bit unsettled by fuzzy's growth! The biggest concern in this pregnancy was that fuzzy would be small, due to my IBD/meds - I never expected to be worrying about having a big baby!! Confused I guess this is the downside of 2 weekly scans - you get lots of information you wouldn't normally have and it's very easy to worry/overreact! Fuzzy may slow right now on the growth front again now - growth isn't always even and steady, even if the growth charts expect it to be!

I'm back up the hospital for my next BP check on Monday, so will talk to them then. I have another scan a week monday, and an appointment with my obstetrician straight afterwards, so will see what that brings!

In the meantime, my MiLs oncology appt has come through for next wednesday, so we should have some idea of what's ahead of us before we see my obst, which is good.

Davina have everything crossed that things start happening for you soon! I hope your last day at work is going well! Am amazed and so impressed that you have worked right up to your due date!! Compared to my sloth like existence on the sofa you are simply amazing!!

mamma I am right with you on the hormonal melt downs - I am all over the place! It's no fun feeling low/weepy and upset for no apparent reason! I've taken to watching my er boxsets - then at least I can have a justifiable cry! Wink (although have had to skip one or two of the more upsetting episodes!)

bun mmm, fairy cakes! You and your DS are quite the baking gods!! Grin Thanks for the offer of cake/company! Grin If I ever get a day to myself I may well give you a shout!!

carlita Fyfe sounds so lovely - please do post a photo! I'm really looking forward to seeing your gorgeous boy!! Grin Really pleased for you that everything is going so well!

So sorry I can't manage a proper update - am really missing properly partaking in the thread! I am lurking and reading when I can - next week is going to be crazy but I hope I can find time to check in! If nothing else, I want to know if davina goes into labour!! Grin

Carlitawantsababy · 09/03/2012 18:38

Goodness trope, that's quite some growth! Hope it's an error as you say. My friend was told her baby was 10lb but he was 8lb5oz when he was born so they do get it wrong. Hope you feel up to posting some more soon, we miss you! Grin

Davinaaddict · 10/03/2012 21:35

Thanks ladies - well D Day came and went with nothing exciting to report - booo! The insomnia appears to be coming back though - had a couple of nights now where I can't get back to sleep until just before I'm due to get up Hmm So, today consisted of a bit of a lie in (thanks to DH getting up with DS) after being up for about 3 hours during the night, followed by a walk to Asda, afternoon nap, curry for tea and now an early night. I suspect tomorrow will be the same, although I might go for spicy enchiladas instead of curry Grin Honestly, this is worse than the 2ww cos I can't get comfortable plus I know I've still got labour to go through Confused I made the mistake of watching OBEM as well this week. No more! Well, not til after the birth anyway Grin

I'm really glad I did work so late now though. If I'd finished any earlier, I'd have driven myself batty by now! It wasn't really amazing though trope - I've been permanently at home for the last 2.5 weeks with only a couple of projects to keep me sort of semi busy. I've not been playing on my phone during the day at all, oh no Grin

Bun your DS sounds adorable - good for him, sticking up for himself Smile FX you get a place for him at play school.

Glad you're feeling better babybrain It is weird when all the pregnancy symptoms magically disappear - I remember moaning about them a lot until they disappeared, worrying about them when they went, pleased for a short time when they came back, and now I'm back to moaning again Grin Gotta love the hormones!

Good to hear about your GTT results trope - glad they were all clear. Hope you manage to get some answers and fuzzy slows down growing a bit, or its found to be an error. And good timing for your MIL's app too. Hope it goes well for her. Carlita's right, we miss you, so hope you can come back soon.

Little Fyfe sounds like such a cutie Carlita. Can't wait to see a pic (if you are happy posting one of course). How is the house coming on?

Carlitawantsababy · 11/03/2012 06:43

Right, I will get around to getting on the laptop today so I can put some pics up! My friends are asking me to put more up on Facebook too and I don't want to do it from my phone as you can only do one pic at a time. I'm glad I missed the labour wait davina from the sound of it, hope you got some sleep last night?
All going well with Fyfe, still on his very strict self-imposed 3 hour schedule which is quite handy! The house is getting there, DH has been working all day every day but everything just takes ages, still prepping the hall, stairs and bedrooms for painting, will be great once that's done and we can actually get some paint on the walls! Grin

Davinaaddict · 11/03/2012 06:59

Better than the last 2 nights, thanks. Had more worrying dreams though, so just waiting for baby to wake up. It is weird being such a paranoid worry wort - I'm never like this normally Sad

Glad the house is coming on well and Fyfe is sticking to his routine Smile Did you remember to take some 'before' photos?

Carlitawantsababy · 11/03/2012 10:13

Didn't bother with before photos, we'd never look at them and just wanted to get stuck in. Don't think we'll forget how awful it was! Wink

Kayzr · 11/03/2012 10:23

Morning.

Davina I hope you don't have to wait much longer. I find the last few weeks of pregnancy the worst.

Carlita we have before pictures of our house. They are really quite strange especially as we ripped the stairs out and put them in the other way. Grin

Davinaaddict · 11/03/2012 11:02

We took before photos of our last house - it was amazing just how much if a difference it made even if it did take us 8 years Smile

Well it's a gorgeous day here, so all the beds have been stripped, the windows are open and the washer is on Smile I've all the little annoying jobs to do but can't be bothered now. Only thing is, they'll only annoy me until they're done Confused Plus it will keep me occupied and not fretting over my appointment tomorrow Smile Hope it's lovely with all of you as well.

ghosteditor · 11/03/2012 18:51

Davina, you get up to some crazy housework when you go overdue, don't you? I vacuumed the car, washed windows (balanced on precarious chairs Blush), did so much washing, sorted cupboards etc. the overdue days are really tough! Hope things happen fast for you...

OP posts:
Davinaaddict · 11/03/2012 20:24

Thanks ghost - it's so true. I also cleaned our en suite to within an inch of its life, did some vac-ing, made tea & tidied & cleaned the kitchen. I'm knackered now! Grin

And I'm soooo cantankerous - if one more person tells me that I can relax and chill out for a few days, I may not be responsible for my actions Angry I dot want to relax, or chill out. I can't get comfy, I've got a 2 year old to look after and I just want this baby out now! 3 weeks relaxing didn't make my last labour any easier, so why should a few days make it easier this time? Grrrrr. Sorry, that was a bit of a rant, wasn't it BlushGrin

Anyway, hoping now I have clean sheets again and had a lovely shower this evening, that I'm tempting fate and my waters will break Grin I've the appointment with the obstetrician tomorrow to book in for my CS in case I don't go into labour so will keep you all updated Smile

Carlitawantsababy · 12/03/2012 09:15

davina if you run out of things to clean you are always welcome here! Wink
I have put some photos up (limited to MN mates so let me know if you can't see them in case I've forgotten to add you) there's even one of me! Grin

Kayzr · 12/03/2012 09:53

Carlita he is gorgeous!!

I have had an awful morning, First XH rang to say he was ill so couldn't take the boys to school. Then my stepdads car kinda blew up in a dramatic fashion. Very loud bang and smoke from under the bonnet!!

So no GTT for me today. Luckily I rang the maternity ward and they've said I can have it at the doctors surgery here instead of having to go to the hospital. SO that is now the 20th which is DS1's 5th birthday.

MammaInTheMaking · 12/03/2012 10:54

Fyfe is super cute Carlita, look at that button nose and CHEEKS!! I love cheeks. My DP and I are quite "cheekboney" if that makes sense so i'm hoping for some squishy cheeks!

DP came back from a stag do in Munich last night, bit of a broken man! I had a great weekend in Greenwich (all time favourite place) and pottering about. I even made 7 bibs from some new fabric I got and they are adorable. I don't know if i can bear to sell them, i want them for our bubba! I've come to the conclusion that Blubes must be training for the Olympics. There were full on star jumps allllllll day on Friday and this morning has got off to a good athletic start in there.

Davina all that cleaning must be helping LO know that the time is NOW! Come on baby, loads of people in real life and virtually want to meet you!

Rubbish about your morning Kayzr but at least no needles in the arms today then. Plus now you get to go and do it locally which is good news.

Hmmm, i'm starving.

Carlitawantsababy · 12/03/2012 10:55

Sad kayzr what a morning!
Fyfe just had his weigh in with the midwife and at 11 days is 8lb 11oz, 6 oz over his birth weight, I'm chuffed to bits! Grin
