Haven't got time to post properly right now - but wanted to say WOW and CONGRATULATIONS!!!! to Carlita! Fyfe sounds lovely - can't wait to see your pics! Grin Grin Grin Once you're settled we must arrange a south coast meet up of you, me and Bun (and your lovely babies!!) Grin

MammaInTheMaking · 03/03/2012 14:48

Well baby came out of hibernation last night and started doing the tango again. What a monkey. At my Stretch Relax and Breathe class this morning it was having a good wiggle about so I'm calm again and trying to just keep the positivity going. DP was chatting to my bump last night and baby kicked his nose. Haha Grin. I'm having a real chill out weekend, loving it Smile

Fyfe (iPhone autocorrects his name to "Dude"!!!) sounds adorable Carlita. Am looking forward to seeing a pic or 2. So, he was born just before 37 weeks? Did you agree with your EDD? He was a good weight for 3 weeks early wasn't he. How are the real nappies going? A couple more are waiting for collection at the post office, I can't wait to get them! Am enjoying a bit of ebaying at the moment, am snapping up a few bargains Smile

Carlitawantsababy · 03/03/2012 15:44

Sounds great trope! Grin
Yes mamma I have an iPhone too. It's good that isn't it? He is a dude! Yes, he came at 36 + 6 so 1 day prem, I'm sure of my dates but he was a very good weight, obviously just ready! Glad your baby is behaving again! Grin

Carlitawantsababy · 03/03/2012 15:45

Oh, real nappies great, yes. Got a whole load in the next size from freecycle yesterday too, bonus! Smile

Kayzr · 03/03/2012 16:45

My iPhone changes Fyfe to Fife Grin

MammaInTheMaking · 03/03/2012 19:58

It sounds like Fyfe is a dude Wink. He was definitely ready to make his appearance wasn't he. How lovely Grin. Has he met his cousins yet?

Carlitawantsababy · 04/03/2012 02:59

And so begins the MNing at odd times whilst bf! He's meeting his cousins next weekend, they were going to come yesterday but seeing as we are at my mum's there's nowhere for them to stay!

Baby was totally doing the can-can last night. I need to stop having any worries about this little one!

How are the cloth nappies going for those using them? Any tips? DP's picking up our second delivery from the post office today, i can't wait to see them!!!!

aBundanceOfTime · 05/03/2012 14:28

Haha Carlita! If only my eyes would focus enough during night feeds to log on, I could have kept you company! Grin Lilly wakes for a feed at 3:39 every night. Yes, exactly 3:39 Confused

Ooh yes, a meet up with you both sounds great! Can't wait to see little Fyfe, and to meet you too of course! Smile
How are you both doing? Glad to hear the leaning forward tip is helping. So pleased to hear that your PGP has buggered off, it's such a relief isn't it!

Mamma glad to hear things are back to normal with bump, it can be really unnerving. How sweet that your DP got his nose kicked Grin

I'm loving ebay at the moment too. I discovered this breast feeding vest last week and it's great! It's strapless and you attach it to a nursing bra so when you unclip the bra, the top comes down with it - I didn't like the idea of stretching vests, faffing with two sets of clips or the breastvest (boobs uncovered) so this is perfect for me.
Though I must admit to expressing the odd bottle for when we're out and about sometimes, big boobs can make it a bit awkward when trying not to draw attention! Smile

You know, I think Lilly's teething! Shock I noticed when she was a couple of days old that I could see where her two bottom front teeth will come through but thought I must be wrong - I'm pretty sure I can feel one coming though today though! Oh I hope so, will be great to get it done as early as possible. Breastfeeding could be interesting though... Hmm

I'm off to make a jam roly poly, feeling nostalgic Grin

ghosteditor · 05/03/2012 15:35

Bun 3.39 waking is a bit freaky!

mamma - I'm actually finding the cloth nappies really good; we're using Bumgenius Flip and I can confirm they're a slim fit even on a newborn. Though I regret it slightly every time she does a dirty nappy (at the moment Jools seems to save poomaggeddon for mummy to change). We're wet pailing with a few drops of tea tree which masks any odours. I'll prefer it when we can dry nappies outdoors to bleach them a bit but they're basically performing well. Thanks for the encouragement from everyone on the thread!

Jools is now a little chubster at almost 7 weeks - she's nearly 11lbs! She has the best little smile and has started some pretty cool gurgling too. Being a mum is fab Grin

aBundanceOfTime · 05/03/2012 16:44

Cor blimey! Good going Ghost and Jools! That's an impressive weight gain! Lilly's getting weighed tomorrow Smile Oh I can't get enough of the smiling! Everything seems to get a lot more bearable when they start smiling doesn't it? DS was really late with his smiling - nearly 4 months! - and Lilly was really early - almost 3 weeks - can really feel the difference, a little appreciation goes a long way! Grin She's nearly laughing now too (odd little squeaks, bless her). Being a mum is ruddy bloody awesome! Grin

So come on Davina, you're up next! Grin Any labour signs??? How're you feeling?

MammaInTheMaking · 05/03/2012 16:58

You ladies with your babies are making me want to cry with excitement. I just can't wait to be a mummy. It's all I've ever wanted!

Kayzr · 05/03/2012 17:13

I want a baby!!! It all sounds so lovely and adorable when the 3 of you talk about your little ones. I am hoping that June hurries up. Only 3 months to go!!

Can I ask your opinions please? We have decided on the Babystyle Oyster. I went to look at one the other day and loved it. But I don't know if I want the black or silver chassis. The silver is a bit cheaper. Here it is if you want to look first. Thank you!!

Carlitawantsababy · 05/03/2012 17:44

Babies rock! Grin
Nappies are great, using prefolds with liners and bummis newborn wraps at the mo. liners were perfect for meconium for anyone wondering, we had so many meconium nappies! Just started to get 'normal' poos today - look like spinach! Confused no leaks or problems and Fyfe is much happier in them, doesn't cry to be changed like with the disposables, waits for us to change him instead. Dry pailing at the mo as still at my mum's house so don't have everything set up.
Fyfe and I have been trying to master breastfeeding today as my milk came in yesterday, it's going well now but blimey hot hard boobs are uncomfortable! We're getting there though getting him latched is so much harder than I thought it would be, and it's so hard to tell if we're getting it right, getting wet and poopy nappies though so assume we're doing okay? Weigh in visit from midwife has been moved to Wednesday, quite pleased I have an extra day to dedicate to feeding him as it'll be more help getting the latch checked when I've had more of a chance to experiment and practice! Smile

Carlitawantsababy · 05/03/2012 17:51

kayzr I know nothing about prams, still don't have one myself so completely useless, sorry! Smile

babybrain3 · 05/03/2012 18:46

I like the look of the oyster too kayzr but far too early for me to do research yet-also love the icandy, but think that will be slightly out of our price range. Will be watching to see what the verdict is though!!!

Also loving all the babytalk! Have got sooo long to wait though!! ? I am so impatient!!

Just had a lovely child free weekend in Scotland with DP. He sped past Gretna green on the way past!! Still no proposals!! Hehehe

9+5 today, we've got dps patents coming to stay next weekend, and will be telling them the good news...

Not been feeling too I'll either this weekend, so I'm hoping I've seen the back of the ms now.. Can't wait til my little bump starts growing now.. Only two weeks til we can tell everyone-I can't wait!!!

Does anyone get the idea that I'm not very patient-there are lots of things that I am looking forward to!!! ?

There, catch up done... ?

Kayzr · 05/03/2012 19:13

Woohoo proud Mummy alert!! DS2 just did a wee on the potty!! I am desperate to get him toilet trained before the baby comes and before he starts nursery in SeptemberGrinGrin

ghosteditor · 05/03/2012 19:18

kayzr the oyster looks pretty good and I've seen several mums with it. I like the black chassis (stealth mode!) but probably wouldn't pay extra for it, personally.

We took forever to buy a pram! We were loaned a Silver Cross Sleepover which is gorgeous but really impractical as it's giant. But we use the bassinet with the stand every day downstairs. We eventually bought a Baby Jogger City Mini which is fab - the best fold in the entire world, and you can buy a cot for it if you want, plus car seat adaptors for Maxi Cosi.

Having said that though, I much prefer to use the sling Grin. I seriously considered the following; iCandy cherry (doesn't fold but comes apart in 2), the Bugaboo Bee (expensive and very low down and doesn't fold in one piece with the seat facing you), the Bugaboo Chameleon (super expensive), and a few others.

I hardly ever use the travel system option though; you're only supposed to keep the baby in it for 90 mins, so by the time you've driven somewhere and have to drive back, there's not much time for them to be in the car seat! I do see a lot of other mums with car seats on chassis though so I guess it's what you choose to worry about for your own child.

OP posts:
Kayzr · 05/03/2012 19:30

I have looked at loads and loads. We were going for a mamas and papas one but it wouldn't fit in the boot.

I love the iCandy prams but they are so expensive, I looked like an idiot pushing the Bee as I am 5ft 8 and it just looked so silly as the pram bit was miles away. Grin

I am also quite picky and want just one handle so ruled out the M&P Pilko.

I love the oyster but like you I don't see why I should pay more for black, I do prefer the black but MIL is paying for it so don't want to be cheeky and get the more expensive one. DP is useless as he just says whatever I want will do him! Men Grin

Also we are getting a Maxi-Cosi Cabriofix car seat which will go on the Oyster. I don't know how often we will use it on the chassis but it's nice to have the option.

elliebug · 05/03/2012 21:40

We have picked the m&p piko, it has adjustable handles, essential as there is about a foot and a half between me and dp!! And I sort of fell in love with the spotty one, however it was ruled to girly Sad
It's never too early to pick stuff baby I did from about week 1!!!

aBundanceOfTime · 06/03/2012 03:15

Well, up at stupid o'clock again... only this time I've not been to sleep yet, Lilly just won't settle unless I'm holding her standing up, every time I put her down she wakes up. To top it off DS has another cold and is in our bed so even if I do get to bed, I won't get any quality sleep. Am exhausted Sad
Sorry for the moan!

Carlitawantsababy · 06/03/2012 04:48

ellie we're getting the M&P Pliko too (donation from DH's sister when we eventually organise getting the pallet of stuff shipped) ours is spotty but black and white spotty. Smile
kayzr well done to your DS on the potty usage! It'd be great if you don't have two in nappies!
bun Sad that sounds like a tough night, hope you're asleep now.. this has been quite an epic feed for Fyfe, been awake since 3.20 Hmm he has just fallen asleep again, hopefully it'll last! Smile

Kayzr · 06/03/2012 06:33

Bun I really hope you got to sleep.

Ellie I love the spotty prams at m&p. I really really wanted one but the boot is too small.

foolserrand · 06/03/2012 08:53

Morning all! Just popped in to catch up over breakfast which finished ages ago so now I'm just being lazy

Don't have time for a proper catch up as today is moving back home day! So very excited. Also, getting my new sofas delivered this morning so need to dash and make the painful journey from mum's house to home in rush hour. Ugh. Still, new sofa!
