Thanks for the advice everyone-but soda law I got home from work today and my appointment has been sent-13th march. Will be 10 weeks so not so bad. ? feels proper now!!! Eek! Did your dps go to the booking appt with you?? Confused

babybrain3 · 01/03/2012 17:12

Of course I mean sods law, and not soda law-wonder what that would entail???

Davinaaddict · 01/03/2012 17:24

Loving the autocorrect! Mine didn't this time but he came to pretty much every appointment for DS. He's only been to the main appointments, plus scans this time. Smile

My stalker side is still wondering where Carlita is Grin

elliebug · 01/03/2012 17:37

hello ladies,
i cannot believe how much i have missed Shock firstly, come on baby carlita!!!! sending quick easy complication free labour thoughts.
baby yay for your appointment, i have 1 that day too!
kayzr really hope baby waits for daddy and i can't wait to fo0llow in your sling adventure footsteps :)
davina i am convinced i am having a girl despite no real reason as to why so if we have a boy i will be as confused as your DS!!! i've even started calling baby its name in my head!!! not telling till s/he's here!!
ghost and troupe high 5 for trying reusable nappies, i have thought about them and then got confuswed/stressed by all the different ones and remembered how much i hated looking after a baby who had them specifically the nappy bit, not the baby and decided i might think about it again when peanut is past newborn.
bun hope lilly is being a prefect baby, i am a little scared by your name choices as they overlap several on our shortlist!!

hope i havent missed anyone Confused i have got 6 weeks left of work and i cant wait, i have had enout of 13 hour shifts without proper breaks, not enough staff and stupid numbers of admissions of rather poorly children! i have also been getting really bad heartburn/reflux recently, even been sick once so i have a new found sympathy for any baby that has it! i have also been getting a sharp pain the my errr girl bits Blush it doesnt last long and feels like i am being cut in half, sorry if tmi, any ideas as to what this is????
in happier news i had a lovely pedicure today and at my 28 week scan yesterday baby measured exactly to the day so she is totally average on the 50th centile, i realise i will prob never what to hear her described as average once she is born but i am so glad. had a consultant appt and despits being told off for working nights he seemed pleased with how i was doing from a medical/my health pov. always room for improvement though, im doing my best and trying not to beat myself up too much!!!

ok, stopping now, thats a very long post, sorry for the moan, i feel much better now :o Brew and Biscuit for anyone who made it to the end!!!

babybrain3 · 01/03/2012 17:50

I bet carlita is pushing as we speak-can't wait to hear from her-hope everything is going well!! A

Davinaaddict · 01/03/2012 17:56

Hi ellie! Good catch up Smile Sorry work is rubbish for you Sad Good news about yours and babies health though Smile

Just had to share this - I text my sister earlier on having a bit of a moan about how uncomfortable I am, and her response was 'Aww, hope the stork will arrive quickly and painfully :-)' Grin I had to laugh at that autocorrect - needless to say she corrected it to painlessly Grin

Carlitawantsababy · 01/03/2012 18:11

Sorry to keep you all waiting! Signal rubbish. Very very proud to announce the arrival of baby Fyfe born at 12.50 today, 8lb 5oz and 100% gorgeous!
Went in to hospital at 6am and was examined and told I was 2cm Sad asked for a bath as they wouldn't let me use the pool and asked for another examination 30 mins later - fully dilated! Took all the rest of the time to deliver him though as he was back to back, face up so a bit awkward. I was a rebel and signed off lots of refusals, refused IV antibiotics, refused continuous monitoring and accepted risks of using the birth pool. Used gas and air in the pool, found it really really helpful to keep my breathing slow and calm. We should be going home at 7pm (well, to my mum's as ours is a building site) so champagne will be flowing soon! Grin

Kayzr · 01/03/2012 18:27

Yay!!!! GrinGrinGrin

Congratulations Carlita what a gorgeous name and a good weight too. A St David's Day baby!!

elliebug · 01/03/2012 18:38

aBundanceOfTime · 01/03/2012 18:45

Whoooo! Congratulations Carlita!! Wasn't expecting that news when I logged in today! Grin Sounds like you did amazingly, well done - Lilly was back to back too so I can sympathise. Here's a little Bear for Fyfe (fantastic name, love it!) and some Thanks for you Smile

foolserrand · 01/03/2012 19:23

OH MY GOOD FUCKING GOD!

Whoop whoop for Carlita and Fyfe!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grin

babybrain3 · 02/03/2012 06:23

Well done carlita!!!! woo hoo!!! A lovely name too, soooo gorgeous! I am also jealous of your water birth-hope I get to have one... ?

Kayzr · 02/03/2012 07:46

Morning.

Hope you had a good night Carlita

My baby is now an aubergine!! Grin

Carlitawantsababy · 02/03/2012 10:44

Thanks everyone, had 6 hours sleep last night, not bad! Long may it continue! Wink I didn't actually give birth in the water, had to get on to the bed for the last few pushes as he was in such an awkward position he just was not coming out in the pool regardless of how hard I tried but was in there for the rest of it, was bliss. I'd do it again tomorrow, one of the greatest experiences of my life! Grin
BTW bun thank you so much for the leaning forward to pee tip, I've had no pain or burning and haven't needed to use a jug or pee in the bath or anything! (and had 4 stitches so was quite worried about it!)
Fyfe's cuddled up in his ring sling at the moment, he's so beautiful! Grin

MammaInTheMaking · 02/03/2012 11:07

I can't believe Fyfe is here! I remember you getting your BFP so clearly Carlita and now that little line has turned into your beautiful precious son! Lordie i feel emotional!

Davina it's you next!

I've been scaring myself a little the last few days as baby has gone from having regular raves in my belly to now being as quiet as a mouse. Movements are few and far between and very small. Sometimes i'm having to guess whether it was baby or wind. DP says there's nothing to worry about but i'm still worried... Most of the movements feel internal rather than on my belly so i'm guessing it's changed position and staying that way. Anyhow, i'm sure it's ok...

Davinaaddict · 02/03/2012 12:32

Aargh - I can't believe that I missed the announcement! Grin Congratulations to all the Carlita family. Sounds like you were a superstar Thanks & yay for baby Fyfe being here Bear Any chance we can have a pic to coo over? Smile

Hope you enjoyed a nice glass of bubbly too Grin

Haha fools - your opening line made me giggle!

Mamma if you're worried, please go down to get checked over. You will probably be right, and it will be just that baby's changed positions (I'm having the same thing at the moment, because baby is sooooo low), but at least if you get checked it will give you peace of mind. I'm ignoring the fact that I'm next though, as I was supposed to be next before baby Fyfe made his appearance Grin

MammaInTheMaking · 02/03/2012 13:11

Thanks Davina. Yes i'm keeping it very much in mind although i'm not actually seriously worried about it. I've just eaten my lunch at work and was getting some decent punches to the bowel area (how pleasant!). It's just strange that there's nothing to my belly recently, all bladder and bum area. I'll keep monitoring it and if i do get a proper worry on then i'll not hesitate to get in touch with the hospital. x

Davinaaddict · 02/03/2012 13:17

That's good then - hope the baby shifts again for you. It's a much nicer feeling to be punched in the tummy than further down doesn't mention how uncomfortable it's been with baby stretching out and trying to escape through my tummy Grin

MammaInTheMaking · 02/03/2012 13:30

aawwwww you're baby is so ready to make it's appearance isn't it! Can't wait for your little monkey to arrive and make it 4 new additions on the thread.

Seemingly my babba likes ham and egg sandwiches as it's really perked up. All kicks/punches are very very low down though, nothing even remotely near my belly button. I would quite like it to do a shifty in position. Punches to the bum are my very least favourite type!

elliebug · 02/03/2012 14:30

Aw, mamma I can totally sympathise, when I had my scan on tues the lady said, ooh it's got it's head right down!!! That would explain why I was seeing literally every 30 min!! Wee'd before leaving the hosp went to Tesco which is less than a mile away, no traffic, and was desperate to wee again!!! Not funSmile

elliebug · 02/03/2012 21:42

Weeing not seeing!!

Carlitawantsababy · 03/03/2012 11:11

Hiya, will get some pics up when I can but likely to be next week as we're staying at my mum's for a while longer while DH tries to get the house sorted! ellie I must say I am loving not needing a wee all the time, i feel for you! Got all my baby boxes from my mum's loft now so Fyfe is in his first real nappy and clothes that I bought him! He is super alert and calm except when he has a dirty nappy (and boy have we had lots of those) and when he's hot. He can't tolerate more than a sleep suit warmth wise - much like me (not that I wear sleep suits)! Grin he's taking to suckling well now, wasn't very interested until last night but some babies just aren't hungry this early. Hoping milk will come in tomorrow. My PGP has disappeared which is overwhelmingly lovely. We're having our first outing today to buy tiles! Grin

Carlitawantsababy · 03/03/2012 11:12

Hope all is well mamma, sounds like you're feeling happier about your baby's movements. Smile
