Oh yes, Kayzr, With the Moby wrap, which I understand is the same, you can either fold it or just scrunch it. I tend to scrunch

ghosteditor · 28/02/2012 17:05

You sort of scrunch it!

OP posts:
Carlitawantsababy · 28/02/2012 17:20

kayzr don't fold it in half, just do it in a big space, I understand what you mean, it is very very long, once you know what you're doing though you can hold lots of fabric either side in each hand (what ghost and bun mean by scrunching I believe) nice to hear that trope is looking so well. House stuff is going slowly, we keep uncovering problems which I know is the way of it but is still a bit of a downer. Sad

Carlitawantsababy · 29/02/2012 11:22

BFP on the TTC thread! Grin

Sooo...either I can't stop weeing myself with odourless wee or my waters have gone! 2 days too early for homebirth (am 37 weeks on Friday) little bugger. Hmm no contractions.

MammaInTheMaking · 29/02/2012 15:30

Yikes Carlita have you called the hospital to find out if it could really be true?? Looks like you're next!!!

I need someone to drag me away from ebay because it's becomming addictive.

ghosteditor · 29/02/2012 15:45

Congrats on the new BFPs!

And Carlita, yikes, get to a hospital to check it out, you need to be sure for the infection time limits. Good luck! And of course, keep us posted! Are you doing a labour thread elsewhere? Smile

OP posts:
Kayzr · 29/02/2012 16:15

Gosh Carlita I hope you have rung the hospital or midwife!!!

Carlitawantsababy · 29/02/2012 17:19

Calm down you lot! I'm in the hospital waiting to be examined. I know it's my waters, I was joking about the everlasting odourless wee! Grin no, no labour thread, I'm not in labour, just leaking! They have said that as he wasn't at all engaged last week at ante natal appointment that I will probably be kept in as could get prolapsed cord. Total opposite of my labour plan so far Angry grrr... Though looking forward to meeting the boy though.

babybrain3 · 29/02/2012 17:40

Good luck carlita labour never quite goes to plan does it??? Hope everything goes well-and yes, keep us posted!! ?

Davinaaddict · 29/02/2012 18:06

Gosh, how much have I missed?!?

Glad you're getting checked Carlita let us know as soon as you have some news Smile Am slightly Envy you're beating me though - must be all that RLT Wink We will need a labour thread though, as I haven't seen a proper one since Nickel had hers weeks ago! All the others have been more along the lines of 'am I in labour?' followed by the next post which is usual 'had DC on x date' Not much fun for me that has no life Grin

Congrats to the newbie Grads too!

Sorry you're not feeling well in the Bun household - it seems to be the season for it! On top of the crappy cold/virus type thing we've all got, I got a text from my friend saying her little boy's come out in chicken pox & he might have been contagious when we went over to his b'day party. Luckily I've had it, and no sign in DS yet, but sods law we'll be getting that as well Sad

So I went to see my MW today, everything's spot on, baby's already engaged (which I knew anyway really) and I'm heading for another 8lb-er as I'm all baby, apparently Shock So back to thinking small thoughts & hoping for an early delivery Grin She said they don't need to see me again, until after the babies born, unless I want to go in for a checkup. Oh and I also got a warning that Halifax labour ward is mentally busy at the moment Hmm Apparently, because it's such a good one, there's been a big influx of ladies from Dewsbury and Bradford so us locals are suffering because of it Sad They've had to draft in loads of the community Mw's to help out. So all I can do is hope baby decides to come at a quiet time Hmm Like that's going to happen! Grin

Carlitawantsababy · 29/02/2012 18:59

I was wondering if it was the evening primrose davina! Grin am on the monitor at the moment, still not been examined though they looked at one of my sodden pads Confused so think they're convinced enough it's my waters! They told me I'm all baby too and that he's a chunky one so that's good considering he's a tiny bit early. Sorry I'm going to beat you, I'd happily have waited, our house is quite literally a building site! Hopefully he won't mind! Grin

Davinaaddict · 29/02/2012 19:12

I'm sure he won't! Ours was similar when we brought DS home as we moved 5 days later. Smile Lots of luck! Grin

Carlitawantsababy · 29/02/2012 20:07

They want me to start oral antibiotics and stay in hospital overnight, I've told them I'll take the antibiotics but am going home. Have to come back in in the morning to go on the monitor again. They're fine with it. Smile

Davinaaddict · 29/02/2012 20:32

Good for you - are the antibiotics a precaution? Hope you have a restful night Smile

ghosteditor · 29/02/2012 20:33

Sounds like a plan Carlita! Get all the rest you can tonight and hopefully we'll have news of our first March baby very soon Grin

OP posts:
Kayzr · 29/02/2012 21:37

Hope you have a good night Carlita

I meant to say earlier that the suits the boys are wearing for the wedding came today. They look absolutely amazing. So so cute. Grin

Carlitawantsababy · 29/02/2012 23:31

Antibiotics just a precaution yes. We're off out for a walk with the dog to try to get things moving! Grin

Davinaaddict · 01/03/2012 06:04

Any news? Grin

babybrain3 · 01/03/2012 06:33

Oooh kayzr that's exciting!! When is the big day??

Hope you managed to get some rest last night carlita after your late night dog walk!!

Well I am 9+1 today, and baby is as big as a prune. Having still not heard anything from the mw, I called the surgery yesterday and was told that the mw should see me anytime up to 12 weeks, so I have to just wait ? hope that means I don't have to wait longer for my scan if I only see the mw for the first time at 12 weeks....sounds like a silly system if you ask me. ?

In other news ds is much better now and his shingles is clearing up nicely. I finally got the results of the URGENT blood test a week later which said I was immune to the chicken pox virus, but by that time he wasn't even infectious anymore anyway? at least he can catch up on his cuddles now though!! ?

MammaInTheMaking · 01/03/2012 08:31

Aahhh yay that your DS is getting better baby and you can have snuggles again :) I saw my MW for the first time at 13+1 having had my scan at 13 weeks. She moaned at me for how late I was seeing her. I thought it was a bit rich seeing as it's them who arrange it all and knew my dates!

My bubs is the size of a cabbage today. I quite like that image! Am on the train to Coventry for a conference, oh the glamour!

Wanted to wish you a lot of luck today Carlita. I'll be snooping around on mumsnet during the many hours of talks I have to sit through today. Hope the boy makes his appearance soon!

Ooh yeah, a friend on FB had her baby yesterday. On Leap Year day! Grin

ghosteditor · 01/03/2012 10:07

How's things carlita?

baby things may work differently in your area but 12 weeks is very late to see the MW for booking in - not for any orher reason than it will be hard to get a scan date the same time. And if your dates are wrong (am sure they're not but still!) then it cuts it even finer.

Could you phone the MW the day she's in and ask for advice or for her to book the scan before you actually see her? If not I would seriously consider calling the hospital direct. It's amazing but somehow people make it your fault that the GP/MW couldn't fit you in at the right time!

I had my scan at what I thought was 12 weeks. They dated me at 12+4 and DD arrived at 40+6 by their dates, but when she arrived the MW said she still had vernix so wasn't very overdue. It's so confusing!

Davinaaddict · 01/03/2012 11:11

Ok, I'm thinking things must happening in Carlita's world as she's far too quiet Grin Come on baby!

Great news on your DS babybrain Glad you can now have lots of cuddles Smile The MW situation sounds a pain though - hope you manage to get everything through in time.

Have fun at your conference Mamma Smile

Davinaaddict · 01/03/2012 11:12

Perhaps that should have read pom poms - one's not much good! Grin
