Yes please BabybrainGrin infact can you help make some for my wedding? I have 20 to make. Eeek.

I have made the treasure map. I think DS1's teacher will think we are mad as we have a town called Bottle Of Rum Town on there.

Carlitawantsababy · 26/02/2012 19:53

Grin sounds good kayzr! I'm looking forward to doing things like that, I used to make them when I was little, wipe used tea bags over them to make the paper look old and burn the edges to make them look piratey! Grin

Kayzr · 26/02/2012 19:57

Thats what we've done. I used to love doing them when I was a kid.

Davinaaddict · 26/02/2012 21:52

Ooh yummy - would love a cupcake, thanks babybrain!

You're map sounds fab, Kayzr And I think there should always be a reference to rum when it comes to pirates Grin

So today's achievements include finishing packing my hospital bag, gathering up things for baby's hospital bag and sorting the car seat out Grin I'm now a happy bunny! Although at my weekly weigh in, I've actually managed to lose a pound this week Confused I'm back to see the MW on Wednesday though so, will get her to make sure my measurements are still on track. I certainly feel bigger! Smile

Carlitawantsababy · 27/02/2012 08:25

Is it possible you've lost some fluid davina? I read somewhere that you can start to let go of some of the extra water when you near labour? (hoping for new thread baby) Grin

ghosteditor · 27/02/2012 08:42

Or it could just be that you haven't been able to eat as normal because of all that baby! I hear it's normal to lose a little in the late stages (didn't happen to me though!) so if your measurements are on track, I wouldn't worry! How are you feeling? Heavy and waddly yet?

OP posts:
Davinaaddict · 27/02/2012 08:55

I was wondering that actually Carlita although wasn't sure if it was just (sorry TMI) extra discharge. It did seem more watery though - I'll ask my MW tomorrow.

Definitely feeling huge and a bit waddly, although baby keeps bouncing back up again Confused. I think that's normal for subsequent babies though, but probably doesn't help with the room for food bit. I've not been eating as much recently, although I did manage seconds of the yummy spag bol we had yesterday Grin, so it could just be that. Who knows, with all this pregnancy malarky!

Much as I really would like to go into labour early this time, today wouldn't be a good day as we've all been up most of the night with a poorly DS Sad He's full of cold & had a bit of a temperature yesterday so he's had a ridiculously unsettled night Sad As such, we'll be spending most of the day on the sofa methinks zzzzzz

Kayzr · 27/02/2012 15:27

Oooooh I have just won a bundle of baby girl clothes on ebay!! Grin

Davinaaddict · 27/02/2012 15:39

Ooh lovely! It'll be like Christmas again Smile How did you get on at the docs?

Kayzr · 27/02/2012 15:52

My appointment is at 5, so knowing my doctors about half 6. But I have promised the boys a chinese takeaway tonight so I have that to look forward too.

Carlitawantsababy · 27/02/2012 15:52

Sad hope your DS gets better soon davina lots of poorly people on this thread at the moment!
Hooray kayzr! Grin

Kayzr · 27/02/2012 15:53

Oh and small excitement in the Kayz household. DP has been told that all being well his flight home will be on the 23rd March. So under a month now until he is home.

Paid all the registry office fees this morning. So excited Grin

Davinaaddict · 27/02/2012 17:34

Yummy - we've not had Chinese in ages. But just had a roast chicken so none for us tonight. Hope the appointment went well and you're not still waiting Smile Great news about DP and the wedding plans Grin

Thanks Carlita On an amusing note, he's just come up I give baby cuddles, and said 'Baby comes' I'm wondering if he knows something I don't! I am very uncomfortable at the moment, but I think that's more to do with the big dinner I had, rather than impending labour Grin

Davinaaddict · 27/02/2012 17:35

That should have read 'to give baby cuddles' Smile

Davinaaddict · 27/02/2012 18:30

Btw Kayzr does that mean DP will be home for your birth? Smile Or will he be going off again? Sad

Kayzr · 27/02/2012 19:20

Nope he is home for 6 weeks. Until the 5th May, then he is away again for 8 weeks. Due home a week after my EDD. Sad

Davinaaddict · 27/02/2012 19:35

Oh rubbish! Sad I was hoping he'd be back for you Sad

Kayzr · 28/02/2012 09:52

My Kari me has arrived. I might have a go at trying to put it on and carry a teddy in it Grin

ghosteditor · 28/02/2012 09:58

Yeys! If you want any tips about the Kari Me then let me know - we love ours!

OP posts:
Kayzr · 28/02/2012 14:30

Erm I am utterly confused by the sling. It seems very loose no matter what I do and surrogate teddy has already taken a suicide dive out of it. Hmm

I guess some of it is due to it not being meant to be worn while pregnant.

ghosteditor · 28/02/2012 15:12

Hi kayzr, the bump doesn't help!

Try searching YouTube for 'Victoris the sling lady' and you want the newborn tummy to tummy hold. The first bit you wrap should be quite high - almost sternum height and you need to pull the whole thing tight as you wrap over the shoulders. It should be really tight as it will give a bit around the weight of the baby.

Once the baby (or teddy!) is in place you should be able to kiss her head easily and if you push against her back, it shouldn't move any closer to you. Does that help at all? Trust me, it's much easier without a bump in the way!

OP posts:
ghosteditor · 28/02/2012 15:13

That's Victoria the sling lady, obvs!

OP posts:
Carlitawantsababy · 28/02/2012 15:40

That's who made my wrap sling, her videos are very good! Smile

Kayzr · 28/02/2012 16:02

Am I meant to fold it in half? The instructions say to put the logo over your tummy but the fabric is very very wide.

aBundanceOfTime · 28/02/2012 16:19

Great advice Ghost, I second it all Smile Kayzr you made me laugh with your suicide teddy! Grin

More to add to the ill list! We were all feeling under the weather over the weekend, DP and the DC's are all better leaving me with a really bad chest (always get this with a cold thanks to asthma). Feeling rather sorry for myself - I'm not very good at being ill! Hope you didn't catch it off us Trope!
I can confirm that Trope has a big bump and is looking bloody fantastic! Smile

Got a busy weekend ahead with MIL and friends (our friends, not MIL's) visiting, hope I'm better by then, I sense I'll need the energy Hmm
