Hello ladies, lost you for a few days, things have been busy! Dd is doing well and managed to put on 11oz in three days, what a growth spurt!!

DH is back at work now and has been landed with a three day overseas trip this weekend Sad. Will be a fast learning curve on my own!

Hope everyone else is well...

Got to love the highlight reel! Thank you kayzr!

I missed the first thread babies? Noooo! Push em back in, do it again! I mean... huge congratulations to both ghost and bun, so very happy for you both. Will try to read back and find those bits, a slight challenge on my rubbish phone.

Babybrain, so happy I could hug you!

That's great news on your honeymoon, kayzr, the name of the location is irrelevant. What matters is that its your honeymoon!

Quick catch up with me, bump is large, building work is well under way. Currently living at my mum's as our house isn't an option (no kitchen, bathroom, heating, electricity downstairs....)

Carlitawantsababy · 01/02/2012 20:55

How many weeks are you now fools?

elliebug · 01/02/2012 21:21

Someone with one of those computery things will have to add you to the stats list fools in other exciting news I think I might buy a sewing machine tomorrow so I can make a baby quiltGrin last bit of indulgence before the rest of my inheritance goes on the baby!!

babybrain3 · 01/02/2012 21:21

Ooh that's exciting kayzr!!! I would want to give it a try if it were me!! ?

Really pleased you and baby are doing well ghost I'm sure you will be just fine on your own!

Nice to have you back too fools thanks for the hug!! I just hope it all goes ok!! Fingers are crossed!! 5 weeks today and counting..... Looking forward to finding out what fruit/vegetable I have tomorrow ?

Kayzr · 01/02/2012 21:36

Babybrain It is so tempting to inflate it.

Davinaaddict · 01/02/2012 22:37

Yay - another lost soul returns! Hi fools! I can't believe that you don't actually want to read all our antics Grin Although it might give you something to do if you go overdue and get REALLY bored.... Kazyr summed it up pretty nicely. Glad to hear you're ok - how are things going with bump? And how long before you can move into your house?

Great news on the honeymoon, pool arriving and the melon update Kayzr Grin I agree with fools - the location/time doesn't matter, it will be lovely regardless. And I agree with babybrain too - of course you should test your lovely new pool out Grin Otherwise, how do you know how to put it up, where you want it to go, how long it will take to fill etc - all part of planning your birth and not just excuses at all, oh no Grin

Enjoy the past but of retail therapy ellie We've loads of talented crafty ladies on here (of course I mean that in the nicest way!Grin). I was watching SuperScrimpers earlier on and they were showing some ladies how to make their own cushion covers, which made me think of the chats on here about making things.

Wow on the growth spurt ghost, that's fab. I don't know whether you've heard of it (and I know you're a way off yet), but they usually also have a big one about 4 months too. I didn't know first time round, and it panicked me a bit! You will be fine on your own (if a bit tired), although I remember how daunting it can seem. Enjoy the time without DH being under your feet - I'd probably spend most of the time snuggled up in bed with your lovely baby Grin

So Piggy is still about, but lost us and is a bit Blush about going awol. I said we've all done it at some point, and that it would be lovely to 'see' her if she wanted to come and say hi. Here's hoping she does Smile

So in my news today, I've been to see the MW today for the usual check up. All's well but again slight trace of protein. BP back to normal so nothing to worry about. Bump measures spot on, so no need to worry about only putting on 2lbs in the last month. DS & DH came too so they got to listen to the hb which was nice. And the update on whether or not I can/should take raspberry leaf tea tablets is that there is no real research anywhere Hmm Most helpful! But at least she tried for me. I might start a thread on it in pregnancy to canvas some experiences I'll do my own bloody research then The odd bit of advice is against it, if you've had a previous CS, but will be interesting to get some more views I think.

Hope you're all well! 39 days to go Grin

Davinaaddict · 01/02/2012 22:38

Sorry ellie that should read the last bit of retail therapy! Time for bed methinks Grin

babybrain3 · 02/02/2012 07:10

I've got a sweet pea! Grin

Davinaaddict · 02/02/2012 07:36

Aw that's so cute! Smile

MammaInTheMaking · 02/02/2012 08:35

Hi Fools Grin

Davina I don't know anything about the raspberry leaf. Do women drink Tito bring on labour or is it in reparation...?

We had a disaster in the house last night. Since we moved in the pressure in the boiler has been non existent. DP is always manually increasing it. Did the usual thing yesterday but one of the radiators started leaking. Couldn't twist any of the valves on it so we had to drain it all evening in Pyrex oven dishes! Turned the stopcock off. No heating or water in the house! Freeeezing! Plumber coming to fix it all this afternoon so I'm staying home to wait. Thank goodness we hadn't decorated the hallway yet coz the water got everywhere! Angry got to laugh though. DP washed himself with boiled mineral water and a jaycloth this morning!!! Grin

ellie get a sewing machine!!! I made some bibs last night and it really calmed me down with all the water stress!

MammaInTheMaking · 02/02/2012 08:36

Ah! My spelling!
*it to
*preparation

Btw, papaya baby!

Carlitawantsababy · 02/02/2012 09:53

Another vote for sewing machine here ellie! Grin
kayzr I ordered my pool yesterday, should come tomorrow so looking forward to a nice test with DH once we move! Grin
Glad all was well with the midwife davina shame she couldn't advise you. Starting a thread sounds a good idea.
I do hope piggy comes back, I've missed her.
Congrats on the sweet pea babybrain! Grin
mamma Sad not the kind of weather you want that to happen during....brrrrrr....Sad

Carlitawantsababy · 02/02/2012 09:58

Oh, and raspberry leaf tea should be used in preparation, it's a mild uterine tonic - tones the uterus. (DH likes to say 'oh good, you're sorting your baggy uterus out' when I'm drinking it!Grin) advice varies wildly from drink throughout pregnancy (as my mum did and both labours were under 2 hours from when she could 'feel something) 1 cup in 1st trimester, 2 in second and 3 in third to starting at 32-34 weeks I decided to pick a midway ish point and started at 24 weeks. Now on 3 cups a day. Grin

MammaInTheMaking · 02/02/2012 10:32

Carlita your DH makes me laugh. Wasn't it him who came out with "ball of legs" to describe baby early on. And now "baggy uterus"!! Hahah Grin I 'm going to look into this rasperry leaf tea then. 22 weeks now so should start thinking about my own baggy uterus!

Carlitawantsababy · 02/02/2012 11:50

It was indeed mamma! That was him looking forward to the first scan so that we knew it was a baby and 'not just a ball of legs'! Hmm

Kayzr · 02/02/2012 12:47

That is interesting about the raspberry leaf tea. I was always told never to take it before 37 weeks.

I am 20 weeks today!! Yay only 20 to go.

Carlitawantsababy · 02/02/2012 13:08

Who by kayzr?
See here for article that suggests use throughout pregnancy www.yogabirth.org/raspberry-leaf-tea.php and here for one that suggests use from 32 www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/labourandbirth/planningyourbabysbirth/raspberryteaeaselabourexpert/
Don't think it'd have time to do anything from 37?

Carlitawantsababy · 02/02/2012 13:12

Another good one here as has lots of comments: www.askbaby.com/raspberry-leaf-tea.htm

Kayzr · 02/02/2012 13:12

The MW I had with DS1, the woman in the shop I got it from and it was printed on the box too. It was because it can cause premature labour the box of teabags said.

Carlitawantsababy · 02/02/2012 15:36

How annoying, I am aware of it being a myth about the tea (and therefore not surprised about the MW or shop woman) but to have it printed on the box is surprising!

Kayzr · 02/02/2012 16:12

The MW retired just after I had DS1 and had been MW for about 40 years and she said the advice kept changing so legally had to say 37 weeks.

I used the tablets with DS2 as I can't stand the taste so I might get some now instead of waiting.

Davinaaddict · 02/02/2012 20:47

Thanks Mamma - I see Carlita has already answered the question you asked about RLT so I wont bother. Congrats on your little papaya! Smile I really hope you manage to get your heating and water sorted out - it's horrible weather to be stuck without it Sad

Thanks for all the links Carlita - looks like I've some reading to be doing lol! And that's before I've got round to starting a thread about it. It's really interesting that there is so much conflicting advice about it. Actually, thinking about it, my mw said I can't take it yet as a bit of an off the cuff remark (sorry - not intentionally drip feeding). I've bought the tablets as well Kayzr as I hate any tea, that's not builders tea Grin I'm just a bit wary about starting to take them because of my previous section Confused

In other news, I'm getting a really weird sort of cracking/popping noise in my bump at the moment. I seem to think that I either had this last time or read about or I may have made up the whole thing I've tried looking up on the advanced search but cant find anything. Anyone else having/had anything similar?
