I went camping with my dd in the summer and she was born 15th April... I managed fine- I think it's easier when they're younger, you don't have to take as much stuff, especially if you bf they only need a Moses basket. Where are you going?

Kayzr · 30/01/2012 07:41

Urghhhhhh.

DS1 has been up all night coughing and I am shattered.

Please do not mention camping!! I loved camping when I was a child. A few times we camped for the weekend near Silverstone to go to the Formula 1. However DP refuses to even entertain the idea of camping. Whenever I mention it he asks why anyone would go in a tent when there are caravans, hotels etc. Bloody man!!! Grin

Carlitawantsababy · 30/01/2012 07:47

Great, thanks, that's reassuring! We have a travel cot for camping and a fold up Moses basket and I'll be BF so yes, should be good then! ?? we're just going to go somewhere in Sussex, need to find a new campsite there as the one we used to go to has become a bit trendy and therefore pricy and busy. We like very basic campsites and they must allow ?? dogs and ?? fires! Then in July we're going to a friend's wedding in Wiltshire and camping there so the June one will be a good practice trip to see what we do/don't need. Did my new pictures work? ?

Carlitawantsababy · 30/01/2012 07:50

Eek, sorry kayzr cross posts! Only the camping pic worked?! Odd. Where are you in the world kayzr? We could do an MN camping trip when we've all got our babies! Grin

Kayzr · 30/01/2012 07:53

I am in North Yorkshire. I keep telling DP we could camp in the Lake District. It only takes about 3 hours to get there, if that really.

babybrain3 · 30/01/2012 08:25

I saw all of your pics carlita!! we have a campsite we love in norfolk-it's one I've been going to since I was a child. All my sisters (5) still go there too with their families. It's so lovely, right by the marshes and you can walk out to the sea too. We live near Leicester and it takes us about 3hours to get there. Were going for 2weeks this year so that will be interesting if all goes to plan-I'll be getting quite big!!! Wouldn't stop going for the world!!! I really love it there.

babybrain3 · 30/01/2012 08:27

Sorry your DP doesn't like camping kazr thats a real bummer... I'm sure you could persuade him though... It would work out cheaper than hotels...

Carlitawantsababy · 30/01/2012 08:27

I thought you were fairly north! My sister and I went camping in the lakes - Windermere, in march a few years back it was freezing amazing! Grin our mum is like your DP, would never consider camping so we only camped in the garden as children. I'm so looking forward to taking the boy and teaching him to collect firewood, build a fire, cook on the fire etc. Smile perhaps you could persuade DP with a two base holiday? Half camping, half not?

Carlitawantsababy · 30/01/2012 08:30

Sounds lovely babybrain, Norfolk is beautiful. Nice that you all go back too. How old is your DD? Was she born in April last year?

babybrain3 · 30/01/2012 09:45

Dd is 8 now so was a long time ago... I have a picture of her having a bath in a plastic tub... Was really hot that year too!!

Carlitawantsababy · 30/01/2012 12:43

I see! I was thinking it was a rather small age gap! Grin

babybrain3 · 30/01/2012 13:44

Hahaha!!!! That would be a bit quick!!!

Carlitawantsababy · 31/01/2012 08:05

Some hint of news at last...we should be moving between 10th and 15th February! Grin

elliebug · 31/01/2012 16:29

Yay, hope the move is as stress free as poss. I have finally left the hosp 1 1/2 hours later need a Biscuit now as the took blood out of my hand it %23%^**$> hurt and the vein blewSad

Davinaaddict · 31/01/2012 23:23

Sounds like you had a lovely morning getting some practice in Carlita Wink

Sorry for your hospital app though ellie. That must have been horrible Sad

I've got my next MW app in the morning, which hopefully DH & DS can come to as they're both off tomorrow. DS was sick on his way into nursery today so they've excluded him. The thing is, I actually think its travel sickness rather than a bug! Will have to see how he gets on I think. I've also found out I've only actually put on 2lbs in the last month, so it will be interesting to see how bump is measuring. It was spot on 3 weeks ago, and I did put on a fair bit of bloat in the early days which has now been replaced by the beach ball bump Grin So hoping it will be ok.

And I spotted Piggymad on another thread today, but didn't get chance to post. Might have to see if we can lure her back Grin

Carlitawantsababy · 01/02/2012 08:50

Oh! piggy is still around?!
Sorry to hear about your appointment ellie and your DS davina! Sad
Grin I'm having a baby next month!

foolserrand · 01/02/2012 09:01

I FOUND YOU!!!!!! Somehow managed to delete or hide the thread. Someone please take pity on me and help me catch up on this year's shenanigans so far without making me read nearly 10 weeks worth of news and chat. I don't think I'm strong enough!

Kayzr · 01/02/2012 09:46
