Hello, my name is Becky and I have just got my BFP after TTC for 5 months with 1 MMC a month ago.

I noticed that no-one had started a August 2012 antenatal club so thought I might start one here. Welcome to all!

Here are my stats;

missduff · 23/12/2011 20:45

frilly I'm sure your sis would prefer to hear it from u face to face so I wouldn't imagine she'd mind finding out a couple of days after others.
My mum knows and a couple of friends but I'm telling my dad and brother on Xmas day, DP waiting till after Xmas to tell his family, altho his best friend n his gf r coming round for drinks tomos so sure it will end up coming out as I'll obviously be sober n they won't be! Quite awkwardly his best friend is his ex wife's brother and his gf his quite pally with her but hopefully they won't blab.

0FrillyKnickers0 · 23/12/2011 20:54

missduff, just be totally frank with them and tell them that they blab on pain of death!! I am going to tell my best friend some time next week. She gets married on March 31st and I am Maid of Honour! I think its right that I tell her earlier than other friends. Don't want it to be public knowledge for a while though...think I may have to stitch her mouth together!

namechangerbat · 23/12/2011 20:54

Hey all Smile
I was on the other thread too.

Won't give too much away as this is number 3 and i don't want to out myself too early.

Yes oldest is 5, youngest is just 1

Due 13th August so that makes me 6+4 I think Smile

MW appt on Wednesday next week Smile

Feel fucking terrible. Bleurgh.

0FrillyKnickers0 · 23/12/2011 20:55

Westcountrywife · 23/12/2011 21:39

Mmmm the Chinese was great... had a quarter crispy duck all to myself!

0FrillyKnickers0 · 23/12/2011 21:53

Ooh yum! I has Cantonese style chicken and egg fried rice! I find that I am eating small and often now!

Ooh, don't know if I said earlier, but I bought a cheap pg kit from the chemist so I can pee on it tomorrow. I know it sounds gross, but I want one I can carry round with me and look at whenever I want! Thursday's one was a cb digi so I want a line one. Worried it will be neg though!! That's not likely is it?

Ha ha frilly, I tried that too but DH got freaked by my obsession with looking at something you've peed on... the cb ones run out of battery soon too. Don't worry we'll soon have scan pictures to look at!

geekette · 23/12/2011 23:38

Hi all, not yet at 12 weeks so still quite scared but here are my stats

geekette (32) due 25/08 DC1

missduff · 24/12/2011 07:59

I'm feeling a little more pregnant today, I could smell onions on my fingers this morning and I've not touched onions since Wednesday night, and yes I do wash my hands! I remember noticing this last time, i couldn't shift the smell of shallots for days.
Also got a little wave of nausea Smile

0FrillyKnickers0 · 24/12/2011 08:18

Welcome geekette! I'll add you to the stats when I'm on my computer!

missduff that's cool :) I was lying on the sofa being pathetic last night and DH said the same thing happened at the same time the night before! I got excited!

Does anyone else find they are waking up all through the night!? I don't know if I am just really conscious about moving?!

Also, I assume that sneezing, going to the loo Wink, and coughing won't harm the seedling?!

Thanks...bit cautious...Blush

blackcatsdancing · 24/12/2011 08:53

missduff i had a miscarriage at 12 weeks over 20 years ago - so pre early scan technology. I had no signs before that anything was wrong. i.e pregnancy symptoms seemed still all there. I was young, 22, non-smoker, wasn't drinking alcohol or having excess caffeine, no risk factors . Just went to the loo one lunchtime at work and wiped pink blood, went straight home , phoned GP who said there was nothing i could do but to stay home and rest. (At this point there was no pain or cramps at all). A few hours later got severe pains, enough to double me over and make me huff and puff ( there's a miscarriage site somewhere where i got that term from- very good descriptor- i'll see if i can post a link after work today). Passed the sac soon after. No tests were ever done so all i had to go on was my GP later saying it was most likely a blighted ovum. Its the main reason i'm having a scan next week- i need to see something inside the gestational sac, i can't live with waiting until 12 weeks again, especially at my age. BTW i conceived again a few months after the miscarriage and had a healthy baby who is now grown up!

Glimpers · 24/12/2011 08:53

frilly I certainly hope not as I've now got a stinking cold after having this winter vomitting bug at the start of the week!! My body feels like it's been run over Sad
I was irrationally worrying that all the throwing up would dislodge beany, then realised that bad morning sickness doesn't have the same effect so why would this Confused
Still got really sore boobs but nausea has gone now, so am now stressing about my symptoms disappearing Grin
Oh the joys of pregnancy Grin

LIG1979 · 24/12/2011 10:33

Morning all,
Had a long sleep and apart from waking for a snack at 5am slept till 9am. Obviously now stressing that the nausea has gone as usually I feel terrible in the early hours and this keeps me awake. Decided against any drugs or more the dh did as he didn't want to harm it - which I guess is ok for him as when he was ill he was drugged up to the eyeballs with day/nightnurse.

Glimpers - in my obsessive googling on colds and mc - I read that cold/flu cannot do any harm but fever can. A fever is above 101.4F so you should try and keep your temp down with paracetamol.

Frillyknickers - I have photos of all my pg tests and now my scan on my phone so I can look at them when I want. Does mean I have to remember to not show my phone photos to anyone else!

Blackcat - that sounds difficult with how little they knew 20 years ago and sounds quite difficult having no idea what was going on. With my mc I had v little bleeding but it lasted for 6 weeks after that nothing but I still had products left over that could only be detected by a internal scan. Not sure what would have happened to me 20 years ago.

Happy christmas eve everyone x

Chocchip88 · 24/12/2011 11:16

I woke at 3am was about to drop off at 4 when DS woke up. Am tired, nauseous and hungry. Triple grump. Bah humbug!! Hope everyone else is having a better Christmas Eve!

0FrillyKnickers0 · 24/12/2011 13:23

My nipples feel like they're going to fall off Sad

I went to see my sister today and my mum told me that their dog (who was my dog before I got married) died in her sleep last night SadSad It was so terribly sad! My mum said that my dad was really really upset too. The nice thing was that she died in her sleep so she wasn't in pain, and she was happy yesterday.

Anyway...we were talking about the sadness of it all and then I blurted out three I'm pregnant!! She was so happy!! We wet out for her to run errands and she bought some baby socks to wrap up and give us tomorrow!!

DH wasn't too impressed with me but he has forgiven me! We are going up tonight to tell my dad Grin Not telling sibs for a while though!

blackcatsdancing · 24/12/2011 13:35

missduff here is the site i mentioned. Not sure if link will work, otherwise copy and paste. I found it interesting, not sure how authoritative the site is though.
www.pregnancyloss.info/symptoms.htm

blackcatsdancing · 24/12/2011 13:37

for others it is a site the links definitite signs of miscarriage and lots of signs that are ok and nothing to worry about (usually), including cramps, bleeding, and few or no pregnancy symptoms. happy Christmas to all!

NeedlesCuties · 24/12/2011 13:47

DH and I are going to keep quiet about this pregnancy for longer than we waited when pregnant with DS. With that pregnancy we told family at 8 weeks and from then till the end there was constant talk about it, my mum buying everything baby related and, tbh it was a bit annoying!

Think we'll wait till the new year to tell people..... easy to think that when I'm at home, but might be harder when I'm around people Xmas Wink

In my last pregnancy I saw 12 weeks as the 'magic time' and that after that everything would be fine. The day I turned 13 weeks I started to bleed red blood. Freaked out, went to the hospital for a scan and baby was fine! I bled for a full week but didn't miscarry! DS is now a healthy almost 2 year old. Not sure what my point is, except to say that pregnancy is full of twists and turns and it isn't over until you have a baby in your arms at the end.

missduff · 24/12/2011 13:48

Thanks, I had a look at that site and it has put my mind at rest, I didn't know that each pregnancy usually gets easier on the body.
I need to really keep reminding myself that I am only 5 weeks and at this stage with DS I was in Spain getting pissed for a week n totally oblivious to the fact that I was pregnant, so clearly I had no symptoms then either.

Did ANOTHER clear blue digital (no I'm not rich but I had it left over). It said pregnant 3+ which I'm happy with as exactly a week ago it said pregnant 1-2 when I expected it to say 2-3. So clearly the hormones r there, I wouldn't be getting milky boobs if they weren't!

missduff · 24/12/2011 13:52

needles I had bleeding from about 6-12 weeks with DS but I think that was because I had taken the pill so think it was withdrawal bleeding. But it's weird cos I never really worried about it but in this pregnancy I'm worrying over nothing. Like my mum said 'you're making up problems'. She's right

NeedlesCuties · 24/12/2011 14:12

Missduff that's really curious that you're leaking milk already, I'd only heard about that in late pregnancy.

Did you breastfeed your DC1? I breastfed DS until he was almost a year, but never leaked at all, ever in my life! Bought a huge pack of breastpads and never used them.

I think we all need to relax and eat cake Xmas Grin

LIG1979 · 24/12/2011 15:00

Missduff - sorry you are worrying but good you are getting some symptoms. I think each pregnancy is different so whilst you may have 2 successful ones they may be very different. You may also be better at dealing with them as it is your second time. I am still figuring out the best way to deal with symptoms in the best way for me!

needlescutie my boobs aren't really leaking, it's just one of them which is just producing a tiny bit of milk when I squeeze it.
I didn't breast feed DS, well I tried but he wouldn't latch on. I think the combination of my rubbish nipples and his tongue tie wasn't a good one.
Whilst we're on the subject of boobs, does anyone know if there's anything I can do to improve my nipples? Basically they're a bit flat. Bottle feeding worked out just fine for us last time but I'd like to at least have the option to breast feed this time.
