voscar I'm sure Mum will look out for all of us Smile. Finished Christmas shopping today, just making the trifle and stuffings as I'm working night shift tomorrow night which means I have to be ultra prepared for sunday. Colds a plenty in this house too so plenty of fluids and vicks vaporub.....nice. Combine that with a bit of insomnia and i'm dead on my feet come late afternoon. Anybody else feel like they could sleep on a washing line?

0FrillyKnickers0 · 23/12/2011 15:40

Ha ha picturethis, love that, and yes, I could sleep anywhere right now Grin

Sorry to start on the the questions, but I have a dull ache/sharp pain under and just above my pelvic bone and a bit at both sides. I know I'm early, but do you think it's normal, or am I just obsessing and worrying over nothing?!

Westcountrywife · 23/12/2011 17:01

Frillyknickers, I've had odd pains and they seem to come and go. Went to doctors today due to some spotting and he was lovely and put my mind to rest. He said that if anything were to happen there is not anything you can do, that I should relax and enjoy being pregnant and that even if things did not go well I was in a great position as it shows that everything is working well. He was very nice to me...

Can I be added to the stats? I've been missed off the last couple and can't update myself as on iPod.

PictureThis · 23/12/2011 17:07

The pains are quite normal although they feel like period pains. It's just because of increased blood flow to the uterus and everything starting to soften and stretch. I don't think you stop worrying, the worries just evolve into different ones Grin.

0FrillyKnickers0 · 23/12/2011 17:07

Thanks west Smile Just needed a bit of reassurance!! TMI, but I went to the loo and felt better after that, a banana and an orange! Think I may have been a but clogged!! Feel a lot happier now Grin I'm on iPhone ATM, but will grab laptop and add you. Sorry for missing you before x

Ambi (31) due 29/08 DC2

0FrillyKnickers0 · 23/12/2011 17:18

CONGRATULATIONS Ambi, that's so exciting!!! What a lovely idea for the Christmas present!! My DH was insisting I was pregnant the day before I tested! Bloody glad he was right ;) I will add you to the stats.

God...I'm hungry all the time! Apart from when I feel really sick!!

missduff · 23/12/2011 17:20

I'm also really worried about miscarrying, I don't remember being this worried with DS, maybe now it's because I'm more knowledgable about pregnancy and fully appreciate what a miracle each and every baby is.
But I was wondering, those women who have had a miscarriage before, did u ever get a feeling before hand that things were right? I think our mind often knows things that it shouldn't, i knew 100% that DS was a boy before I was told, I just knew. Was wondering if this feeling I've got is just me being paranoid or whether I just know that things aren't right.
Bring on the sickness! Think I'll feel better once I'm puking 10 times a day!

PickleSarnie · 23/12/2011 17:38

I definitely knew that something wasn't right last time missduff but that not to say signs that can be classed as "bad" should always be taken that way either. But I just knew from the minute I found out last time that it wasn't right.

I saw a TRIPLE buggy in town today! Aaaargh. Imagine?!

LIG1979 · 23/12/2011 17:47

Missduff - last time when I had a mc I didn't ever really feel pregnant. (I thought pregnancy was easy and except for tiredness felt great.) However, there are lots of people who don't have symptoms and their baby is fine and some people never even know they are pregnant they have so few symptoms. On the other hand there are people who have really bad sickness and are miscarrying as the symptoms don't go immediately.

Last time, I did feel that there was something wrong but then this time the only reassurance I have is feeling sick everyday but that still doesn't make it a certainty. The one thing I do know is that I cannot prevent it and whilst mcs are fairly common the majority of people swan through pregnancy without needing to worry about it. For me this time, I don't think I will be planning for a baby till much further along - I got quite angry when the midwife wanted to know about where I wanted to give birth and whether I was thinking about ante-natal as at the moment all I am working towards is getting through the 9 week scan with a living baby like blob with a heartbeat.

Anybody got an ideas on how I can sort out my cold? Sent the dh to the chemist but he was told I can't have anything but paracetamol - got a tickly cough and blocked nose and desperate for some sleep tonight before my early nausea wake up!

LIG1979 · 23/12/2011 17:49

A triple buggy would be tough but I was hoping for twins just so I could just do pregnancy once and get my planned two children!

missduff · 23/12/2011 17:55

lig1979 u can have honey and lemon cough medicine which may help the tickely cough and tastes lovely too Smile
Last time I was pg I had really bad probs with my sinuses and the only thing which helps is ibuprofen so I did a bit of research on it, there's actually no evidence to suggest that it's not safe to take it when you're pregnant, it's just that they can't test drugs on pregnant women so medical professionals won't recommend it. So I still took them along with decongestants for the same reason.
Obviously I'm not recommending that u take drugs that the docs say u shouldn't, I'm just saying u can make your own decision about it.

PictureThis · 23/12/2011 17:57

Having a cold when you're pregnant is rubbish, i know exactly how you feel. So you can have Simple linctus for your cough, two paracetamol, hot water with honey and lemon, a warm bath in a steamy bathroom then vicks vaporub on your chest and throat and sleep propped up. I'm using Happynose to help decongest and stop my nose getting sore. Get better soon.

missduff · 23/12/2011 18:20

Btw is anybody else lactating yet? I was having an admiring feel of my newly hormone enhanced boobs last night and gave one a squeeze and a bit of milk/colostrum stuff came out! I'm only supposed to be about 5 weeks pregnant and I'm sure I didn't get this till about 6 months last time, although I don't think I squeezed them before then!

0FrillyKnickers0 · 23/12/2011 18:58

Oh my gosh, missduff! I am too scared to touch my boobs now!

0FrillyKnickers0 · 23/12/2011 19:01

Mmmmm...just had Chinese!! Yum! X

littlelamb1980 · 23/12/2011 19:28

Hi everyone! I've been lurking for a good while now but have finally got the courage to say I am pregnant! My first pregnancy ended in a mmc in September this year, thought I was about 9 weeks but early scan showed baby died at 5/6 weeks, so sad. But feel incredibly lucky to be pregnant again so soon but obviously very very nervous about miscarrying again. On a positive note I had a reassurance scan at my local hospital yesterday and I am confirmed at 7 weeks 2 days and I saw a heartbeat, totally amazing and one step further than I got last time! Congratulations to all you pregnant ladies out there.
Can I be added to the list please? My stats are:
Littlelamb (31) due 8/08/12 DC 1

LIG1979 · 23/12/2011 20:07

Thanks for the cold advice! Had to check my boobs - definitely no lactating yet!!

Welcome littlelamb and good news on the scan. I had a scan this week and it was good to see a heartbeat and little embryo. Still scared it will go wrong but it was reassuring to realise that things had progressed further than last time.

Westcountrywife · 23/12/2011 20:22

Hi littlelamb and congratulations!!!

Frilly.. Saw ur post and have just ordered Chinese for myself Grin

I am normally prescribed ibroprofen for arthritis. As soon as I started TTC my consultant said I had to stop taking it, my GP has now said also. The consultant said that it's because ibuprofen works by reducing inflammation, your girly bits need to be swelling up to help all the processes happen. He said that I had a better chance of conceiving if I didn't take any. I just remember he said absolutely no no for me when TTC and when pregnant. I am not a doctor so don't rely on this completely though... but I'd definitely check with ur doctor before taking...

0FrillyKnickers0 · 23/12/2011 20:38

You won't regret the Chinese, West! Mine was lush :)

So, we are definitely telling people on Christmas day, by people I mean parents and siblings. Only problem is that my sister and her DH don't like seeing anyone on Christmas day, so I was thinking of telling her on the Tuesday morning face to face. Do you all think that sounds ok? My other sis and parents won't say anything if I ask them not to...

0FrillyKnickers0 · 23/12/2011 20:41

Oh, I don't know if anyone would be interested, but I started a private facebook group when TTC, and I was thinking of setting one up for those of us due in August? If you would like to join me then message me your name and I will find you :)
