Hello, my name is Becky and I have just got my BFP after TTC for 5 months with 1 MMC a month ago.

I noticed that no-one had started a August 2012 antenatal club so thought I might start one here. Welcome to all!

augustmoon, so sorry to hear about your loss, a friend of mine lost her little boy at 41 weeks, it's a dreadful thing to go through, hope today is a good day.
Are you getting extra scans and support this time around?
My symptoms seem a lot different this time, definitely don't feel as sick but have really bad insomnia which I didn't get until the third trimeseter last time around. I'm also wondering if this means it's a girl as feel so different to last time.
Hope everyone else is doing well. I have my works Christmas meal today, usually I get very drunk but hopefully the excuse of driving will let me off this year, we'll see!

Hi People!

I got a BFP yesterday! I stopped taking the pill 2 years ago but my periods were irregular for ages. They regulated about 6 months ago and we were trying properly for the past 4 ish cycles. I think i'm 5/6 weeks- My last period was a bit weird so i'm not totally sure when to date it from. My last period started extremely lightly on the 11th Nov then kicked in properly on the 18th- for the usual 5 days. I hope this doesn't mean anything bad. I've got my 1st appt with the doc 2mo so hopefully she can put my mind at rest.

My boobs started aching really early on at the beginning of Dec. No sickness yet but i've been quite tired. Ive got some period like pains too- mostly on the left hand side.

I phoned the doctors today and she has passed my details onto the midwife so that she may organise an early scan for me.

Have been feeling nauseous on and off the last couple of days! Also have been feeling exhausted. Hoping that I'll be able to stay awake to finish Christmas present wrapping tonight.

Hope everyone is well. Is anyone else being referred for an early scan? X

Oh yeah! Forgot to ask, is anyone else moulting?! My hair seems to be falling out at an alarming rate, good thing I have incredibly thick hair!

Hi everyone!! I am so excited...I got my BFP this morning and this is just our second month of TTC! I am 24 and this is our first. DH is over the moon too. Currently 4+2, EDD 28th August (DH hoping he/she comes late so is a September bambino!!)

It's nice to have people to talk to about this stuff :)

Got my BFP on Saturday, and trying not to get too exited as had an early miscarriage (at 4+3) back in November. Very lucky in catching again straight afterwards but still really nervous.

Finished work for Christmas now and putting my feet up whilst DD is at the childminders (took advantage of having holiday left at work and paid for childcare to have a day to myself!) in preparation for full on festivities from tomorrow!!

Last day of work for me here, and then off for 2 weeks. DS still in nursery tomorrow so planning a trip to the doctor to be referred to midwife and then a very lazy day. Am really tired this week so am looking forward to some quality sofa time before the madness of Christmas starts :)

I've been over on the August thread in pregnancy - didn't realise this was going!

I'm 31 (eek!!! I still feel 21). Due 18th August (were we the only couple that's had mid week sex?!! Lol - everyone else seems to be weekend conceptions if you work it back ;)

This is our first and we are both incredibly excited but very nervous. I just want that first scan so that I know everything is ok.

I've had sore boobs since 7 dpo. Tiredness and insomnia for about two weeks and morning (try morning noon and night) sickness for thr last three days..... I don't mind all the symptoms - gives me more confidence that everything is ok

NathanDetroit, age 30 due 12/08/12. Worked out the due date on the "What to expect when you're expecting" phone app.

Been very up and down emotionally and just hoping it sticks, so far so good and lots of symptoms to make it feel real!

voscar I had midweek sex too! Due 23rd August n pretty sure it was the Wednesday night shag that caught the egg. Wednesday n Thursday r our date nights as I don't work those days so i get to shower, de-fuzz etc before DP comes home, cook us a nice meal, few glasses of vino n then 9 months later a baby comes along

Feeling quite good today, quite happy n feeling positive.

Told my mum last night and she's really happy for us . Think I'll tell my dad on Xmas day. Went for lunch with my friends today but I couldn't relax as I had to think about what I was gonna say every time I open my mouth, think I'll have to tell soon as I'm going to a nye party with most of them there n they won't believe that im on antibiotics and even if they did they'd still try to ply me with drinks.

My boobs aren't sore but they r getting bigger
Anybody else got thrush? I'm guessing it's with the change in hormones n maybe from eating too many mince pies

missduff I'm totally with you on having to think before I speak! Nearly told my manager in the middle of supervision today!! Feeling almost dead with tiredness now DH just helped me wrap all the presents whilst watching Grey's Anatomy, so at least all that's done...now he is washing up happy, but exhausted sigh. Gonna have to go off to bed though!

I have a 19 year old from my first marriage and never thought i'd go on to having another but stable happy relationship so finally decided to try again.
One miscarriage at 12 weeks before first child was conceived.

Am going to have an early viability scan- have decided I need the reassurance and shall book that up very soon. Good luck to everyone!

Hello all, I got my BFP yesterday after nearly 4 years of TTC#2. I'm 38 and from my dates am due 30/08/12 which seems such a long way away at the moment.

DH and I are in total disbelief as I think we thought that it was never going to happen again for us. DD was conceived after only 6 months of trying and after she was born I experienced annovulatory cycles and was thought to have PCOS so DD was probably a bit of a fluke. My darling Mum died in January and she knew how much we wanted another child. Before she died she said that if she could she'd send us a good one so maybe this is our Christmas present from her. I told my Dad today and he welled up. He said 'that's bloody good news, bloody good news'. Needless to say, that set me off.

I really can't quite believe it and have done 4 tests now (just in case...). I'm a midwife so I'll get one of my colleagues to scan me in a couple of weeks just to check everything is where it should be. Good luck everyone, what an exciting time for all of us.

Wow picturethis that's some sensitive tests you've got there! I'm due a week before u n got a really really faint line on Saturday, DP didn't think there was anything there!

Hi! Can I join? Just got BFP with DC2. I reckon I am about 4-5 weeks.

Still breastfeeding DS, who is nearly one. Just seen a couple of you are in the same boat with little ones either under 18m or still breastfeeding.

No symptoms as yet other than being awake at 5.30 itching to get up. Normally I'd be dead to the world until DS woke up

missduff, you must be a week ahead of me too...I got the faintest line (which I only noticed several hours later!) on Monday morning, then I tested with a CB Digital yesterday and shabam! Pregnant

Picturethis - that is a lovely story.

Frillyknickers - I started off with evening sickness but now it is all day sickness that is worse in the early morning and late afternoon. I find eating helps but if I eat too much it makes me feel worse. Sort of glad for the symptoms as it reassures me that things are going ok after the mc earlier this year.

Off work sick today as got a cold and that and the sickness has really wiped me out - not really sure what to do with myself. Trying to drag myself out of bed to make a hot honey and lemon but can't face it.
