Hello, my name is Becky and I have just got my BFP after TTC for 5 months with 1 MMC a month ago.

I noticed that no-one had started a August 2012 antenatal club so thought I might start one here. Welcome to all!

Here are my stats;

Harmonyb23 (23) Due date 19/08/12 DC#3

Please let me know if I am doing anything wrong, I've never started a thread before!

Miss I still haven't told my mum.... although for past few months she has been hinting that a sibling for my DS would be good...

Bit shy about telling her, but don't know why! Xmas Blush

PickleSarnie · 20/12/2011 14:22

I've not told my parents either - and going to try and keep it from them until the scan. Even assuming (fingers crossed) that everything goes well. 28 weeks of fussing is less than the 34 weeks I'd get from them if I told them now. Also, I think telling people makes it all "real" and I think that I'm still a bit in denial. Not because I don't want it but because I think I don't want to get excited too soon in case the worst happens.

Thought I'd take the chance whilst I'm on laptop instead of phone to do the stats:

Hello hello

Congrats and welcome to the newbies, nice to see the list of stats PickleSarnie thanks for that!

I POAS (clear blue digital) this morning too and got the expected 3+ weeks but won't know for sure until early scan next week what my dates are.

Still haven't told anyone but will tell my parents next week after scan if all goes well. Won't tell work for ages if possible. Was about 17 weeks last time around I think. I think bumps are supposed to be more obvious earlier with second/etc pregnancies so might not have the option of waiting that long this time.

Mild nausea again today but am remembering from last time that eating regularly is key - gets much worse for me if my tummy empties. Someone had McDonalds in the office over lunch and I must confess the smell was soooo tempting. Definitely in the mood for more savoury than sweet stuff.

PickleSarnie I was also a complete wreck in the first couple of months after DS was born and it is a major concern for me. My emotions were just all over the place. I know that a large part of it was to do with sleep deprivation - DS1 fed every 2 hours from the start.....including through the night.....until he was 12 weeks old. I'm hoping that this next one has a bigger tummy or just likes sleeping at night more and that as a result I will be less mental :)

Hope cast removal went well and speedily Harmony

missduff · 20/12/2011 17:05

Anybody getting any cravings yet? I'm really fancying anything garlicy and curries/spicy things. It's strange cos I'm sure I had an aversion to garlic last time, or maybe that was later on.
Mmmmmmmm I could murder garlic bread with tomato right now.

rslnd · 20/12/2011 18:46

Hi everyone, i'm 29 and due August 3rd with my first- scary and exciting.
Approaching 8 weeks now and up until recently hardly had any symptoms apart from sore boobs. Nausea and exhaustion started to kick in though :(
I am quite off sweet stuff at the moment- which is defo weird for me. No major cravings yet.
Was really crazy paranoid something was going to go wrong for first couple weeks but calmed down a bit now!

LIG1979 · 20/12/2011 19:35

Hello all ,
Can I join you? I am 32 and 6 weeks 2 days with my 1st. I'm a little cautious about joining an ante-natal board as I had a missed mc in April and a very very early mc in August (only had a BFP for 2 days and my AF was only a day late so I'm not sure it really counts.) Been trying since new year but managed to get pregnant 3 times in the year just not keep it yet - fingers crossed this one is a sticky one Xmas Grin. Also, got PCOS but that doesn't seem to have too much of an impact except for very long cycles and awful pregnancy skin!

Had an early scan today and saw a heartbeat and embryo which was quite exciting and feeling a little more confident. (Hence this post.) Been feeling quite sick since about 5 weeks and sore boobs since about 7 dpo which is reassuring.

No cravings yet although I have gone of dark chocolate. Already feel the size of a house, as I have been eating to try and keep the sickness away and not been able to go to the gym as I feel so rough.

My stats:
LIG1979 (32) Due date 12/08/12 DC#1

PickleSarnie · 20/12/2011 19:58

Huge congrats rsind and lig1979!!

lig1979, that's fab news about your scan. Once they see a heartbeat the chances of anything going wrong goes right down. I don't have pcos but I've always had fairly crap skin which got worse in the first few weeks of pregnancy. But after the first few weeks, my skin was the best it's ever been. Oh, and my nails were awesome! Which is a bit of a drastic reason to et pregnant but it was a lovely side effect. So hopefully the change inn hormones will sort your skin out too!

missduff. Garlic., eurrrrgh. Even the word hummus makes me want to throw up! And onions too. Double eurrrrgh. Only craving I've got is ready salted hula hoops. Mainly because they are plain and beige. I existed on beige food for weeks last time. Potato waffles, super noodles, crispy pancakes. All the things that I hadn't touched since I was a student and haven't touched since but are looking increasingly appealing once again.

kyuri the sleep deprivation was a killer for me too. We ended up giving ds a bottle at night just so that DH could do one of the night feeds and I could claw some of my sanity back. I was so terrified he'd get "nipple confusion" but he ended up being one of the few babies in my NCT class that would take a bottle and the boob. Which was such a godsend for me.

Kyuri · 20/12/2011 22:10

Ah super noodles ... the food of champions :). Also had major cravings for them last time around and think I'm starting to get the same again. Anything with noodles really appeals.

We also gave bottle of EBM at night from about 4 weeks which was a godsend in the long run. It was so great to have the flexibility of being able to leave DS for a few hours without worrying he'd starve! Remember expressing being a total pain in the bum though :)

missduff · 21/12/2011 02:28

Hello newbies and welcome!!

pocklesarnie I lived off rice crispies and crumpets last time, oh and sweets and cake. Can't forget the cake!

I got in bed with DS tonight and 7.30 and just woke up at 2am Smile ...oh the joys of pregnancy.

comixminx · 21/12/2011 08:31

Hello! Got a BFP last week and so far have mostly managed to keep fairly quiet about it, though not entirely... this will be our second baby, all being well: the first is nearly 16 months old right now so we've been cracking on reasonably well!

My stats are
Comixminx (41) est due date ?21.08.2012 DC #2

PickleSarnie · 21/12/2011 09:00

Congrats comixminx ! Were you on the Sept 10 thread? I recognise your name!

comixminx · 21/12/2011 09:05

Yes, I was (and still am: the post-natal thread is still going strong!). Thought I recognised your name, pickle, but then assumed I'd seen you elsewhere on MN...

AugustMoon · 21/12/2011 10:45

Hi. Can I join? I got my BFP nearly 2weeks ago and due 13/08/12 with DC4. I have wanted to join an ante-natal thread and this one seems perfect as some of you have had mc (though sorry to hear this) and also lots have been pg very recently.... You see I lost my DS3 in August this year, he was stillborn at 35 weeks. I also have a DS (8) and a DS (5).
So I'm going to be a nervous wreck, and very much still grieving, needing all the support I can get! Im on another thread with some incredible ladies who've been through similar losses and are ttc or at different stages of pg but not due at the same time IYSWIM.
This baby, all being well, will probably come earlier as I have the option of being induced from 37 wks, which i will probably take as edd is v close to what would have been DS3's 1st birthday. But, in any case my stats are

Kyuri · 21/12/2011 11:52

Morning ladies

Welcome again to the newcomers, we are arriving here thick and fast now!

AugustMoon sincerest condolences for your terrible loss, I can't imagine what you have been through.

Feel a bit rubbish today, and skin is going to pot. I hate the first trimester! All the shitty symptoms but no one to have a moan at (apart from DH and you lovely ladies) because no one else knows yet.

Think I might treat myself to some super noodles for lunch :)

Have a great day all.

missduff · 21/12/2011 12:51

So sorry to hear of your loss augustmoon hope we can all be of some support to you over the next 8 months x

missduff · 21/12/2011 15:17

God I hate these hormones! I'm not liking what they're doing to me, I feel like I'm turning in to a right cow!
I've just sent a massive ranting text to DP moaning about him not being here enough n how I need his help n support more.
I am right in what I'm saying but really I know it's not his fault. He is amazing, he is so kind, thoughtful (at times), loving etc etc but he's just not physically been here much lately n that's gonna be the case all week
Sad
He's got 2 kids from a previous marriage and they are his world, he is a wonderful dad but due to circumstances and lack of space here when he has them they are at his parents. Of course that now needs to change before baby comes but I've just been sat here thinking what an inconvience it could be n that I don't want 4 kids running about every weekend and 'why should I spend thousands of pounds on a lift conversion for HIS kids to sleep in?'
Omg I hate thinking like this, I live his kids n I've always had the attitude of 'the more the merrier' but now I'm turning in to the evil stepmum!
I think I need a long talk in the mirror with myself!

missduff · 21/12/2011 15:19

Sorry I don't need a lift conversion, it's a LOFT conversion! Nobody needs a lift lol

PickleSarnie · 21/12/2011 19:25

Congrats augustmoon. I'm so so sorry about your loss.

missduff, I'm the same on the hormone front. I keep thinking that its me that has to go through 9 months of hell an DH has it easy. But then I remember that he had to put up with 9 months of being married to a crazy beatch and will almost certainly have to do the same this time and then I remember he's not got it that easy after all.

When we were looking at houses last time we moved, we saw this house which was horrible. All the walls had woodchip wallpaper and stunk of smoke and everything was stained yellow. However, it had a Stena Stairlift left from the previous owner (I'm not surprised that someone who clearly smoked that much couldnt walk up the stairs). I NEEDED that lift!! I had to be talked to my senses.

Figured I'd update the stats whilst DH is out getting me a supply of plain hula hoops. Yum.....

Hello all,

AugustMoon - good to have you here - sorry about your loss that must have been very difficult. Good you are pregnant again so quickly.

Sitting home alone feeling un-sick for the 1st time in ages and bored - been a bit of a hermit as I have felt unwell in the evening and it has been difficult when I have gone out - wish I was out tonight. Off out tomorrow for a xmas party and bet I will feel ill again! Has everyone else told people they are pregnant or are they waiting for 12 weeks? This time I am telling those I will tell if I miscarry again.

Missduff - I was up at 5am this morning. Was too tired to eat so then started feeling really sick. Finding the whole pregnancy malarky difficult this time but at the same time feel reassured by feeling so rough. (Quite glad I have no dc's so I only have me to look after!)

Bedtime me thinks - good night everyone.x

harmonyb23 · 21/12/2011 22:55

Hello everyone, blimey, the thread has really taken off since the last time I popped in! Inlaws came and went and the visit went smoothly. DS's cast was taken off in record time.

Have still to phone the doctors, will call tomorrow if I remember! Due to previous circumstances (ectopic and EMC) I will probably need an early scan, so I should probably get on with it so as to make sure everything is alright in there!

Sorry to hear about your loss AugustMoon it must have been very difficult :(

Had my best friends around tonight, one of whom is currently pregnant (5 months). I announced our good news and my friend was over the moon with excitement that our LO's would be born so close to one another.

Have had cravings for sweet things; chocolate, cookies, etc. Last time I craved savoury snacks.

Off to bed now, feeling very tired!

Aaaaaargh. Stupid, stupid insomnia.......

Westcountrywife · 22/12/2011 08:37

Hello, can I join?

My stats:
Westcountrywife (33) due 03/08/12 DC1

Eek very excited and a bit overwhelmed. We got married in August and this has happened pretty quickly.... DC is due a few weeks before first anniversary. Got sore boobs, sleeplessness and feeling nauseous... first year I can't wait for Xmas to be over as have appointment with MW on 4th jan!

AugustMoon · 22/12/2011 09:17

Thanks everyone for the welcome.
Hi westcountrywife. Congratulations :)
I'm a bit worried, I don't have any symptoms this pg. I was nauseous and totally wiped out last pg although that may have been because I had sua, single umbilical artery. But also with other 2 pgcies I've had ms and very sore boobs. My boobs aren't even sore. The only thing that's happening is I'm putting on weight quite rapidly - 7lbs in 2 weeks! What does this mean? I'm thinking it's either a bad sign or, as I've only had boys, that maybe this time is a girl?
I actually do feel a little bit sick right now though.
