Hello, my name is Becky and I have just got my BFP after TTC for 5 months with 1 MMC a month ago.

I noticed that no-one had started a August 2012 antenatal club so thought I might start one here. Welcome to all!

Here are my stats;

Stinkyminkymoo · 04/04/2012 19:36

Oh I give up. Loads of typos but I'm running a bath at the same time and clearly cannot do both at once!

technoduck · 05/04/2012 16:26

Hello! there only seems to be 3 of you but mind if I join?
Due on the 12th aug, was plain sailing in the 1st tri but really suffering now, and ive just eaten 1/2 block of cheese Shock was bloody lush tho! Can't find any nice clothes just living in dh pjs unless I have to go out, in saying that the local shop have got used to me popping in with pjs on!

Stinkyminkymoo · 05/04/2012 16:39

Mmm cheese. I love cheese I do.

I might have eaten a whole Lindt Bunny at work today.

I think that might be the reason I probably have a bigger bump than you guys. It's 1/2 fat 1/2 bebe!! Wink

PickleSarnie · 05/04/2012 17:30

Hi techno! Is this your first? I'm sat in pyjamas too so you're not alone! Fed up of hitching up stupid maternity jeans all day so have resorted to comfy, elasticised waists until I have to face the world. Need to find some braces or something. I reckon I could set a trend?!

It would have been rude to eat just half a lindt bunny so a whole bunny is perfectly acceptable! I've jut made banana, walnut and chocolate loaf for friends coming to visit tomorrow.....but it's sat there smelling so good and tempting me with its bananay goodness! Do you think I can count it as one of my 5 a day?

PickleSarnie · 05/04/2012 17:31

Not sure why I put lindt in bold there!

technoduck · 05/04/2012 21:12

Yeah it is my first, Im thinking mutli coloured braces, then I would be the coolest kid in town!
Ive just had a super healthy tea then a whole pack of mini eggs for afters Blush Banana, walnut and choc loafs sounds lush, ive just made english muffins for the first time and am very pleased with the results. Ment to be for breakie tomorrow but just looking to good. Had a hot one with some butter just to make sure they where ok!
And yes I would say banana loafs counts as one of your five a day (or eat the whole thing and it would be all your five a day!)
I wanna a lindt bunny now Grin

Stinkyminkymoo · 05/04/2012 21:45

Omg! You lot are a right bunch of nigellas! Putting shame on me. I did make my own sandwich for work.

Yay on 4 day weekend!!

Flowerhead · 06/04/2012 17:38

Hi picklesarnie, just had the whole scan thing as I am a proper old bird. Kings college is the best place to go IMO, not only top of the range equipment but more importantly experienced scanning operatives, also a teaching Hosp so at the forefront of things. I had a scan there and at Harley street, and have to say that harley street was very generous with the neucal measurement and generally felt like they just wanted to sell me a cvs. Have a chat with your gp to make sure your not entitled to a nhs referral which you should be able to have where you want. Good luck

PickleSarnie · 06/04/2012 19:59

Think I've had my full five a day between the banana loaf and the raisins from hot cross buns. I'm just soooooo healthy.

flower, you sure you have the right thread? Not looking for another scan, although I AM an old bird too so you've got that bit right! :-)

PickleSarnie · 07/04/2012 16:09

Yet again doing well on the five a day. Lemon meringue pie. Yum. Not homemade this time. Grandparents had DS so we managed to escape for a child free lunch. Lovely. There were some people who came in with a sleeping baby in a car seat. Forgot how teeny tiny they are!

ruskiewicz · 08/04/2012 15:55

Hello... Good to see we have another person joining our ranks!
So... we're having a boy. The scan went well but have to go back in 4 weeks because she couldn't see the tail of his spine - little blighter was parked up against my (full) bladder and wouldn't budge.
Sonographer wasn't worried. Everything as it should be, just needs to do that last check. DP thinks it's a bonus because we'll get another scan at 24 weeks.
Went out yesterday and bought some cute things, then had a curry with the family and I had - gasp - a glass of prosecco. It was bloody nice too.
Still not showing that much but the copious amounts of Easter egg might help. Making rhubarb crumble later (with extra thick double cream - yay).
Planning on putting away lots of roast potatoes and chicken too.
Stinky - you got your dream horse! I had mongrels, apart from a crazy Arab. The others looked like the fat hairy ponies from those Thelwell books...
Pleased to see everyone's filling their faces and it's not just me :)

Ambi · 09/04/2012 11:04

Ruskie, a boy!! Now you can buy things for him.

Hi everyone, not been on for ages (I dip in and out of MN) 2nd scan next Monday morning, really want to find out the sex, so frustrating not to be able to buy anything. This weekend has been busy (not just for chocolate) we've decorated our spare room for DD and she's moved in there (wouldn't recommend b&q and ikea on bh weekend!!!) Her old room.looks so sad and empty like my little girl is growing up. She starts school in Sept (great timing for Mat leave Grin) although I hope I don't miss her first day.

I'm due 27th and planning to finish work on the 10th Aug at 38 weeks. Planning a couple of weeks to get DD ready for school and chill in the sun (wishful thinking) I am hoping baby doesn't arrive til Sept though for the school year.

I'm being kicked loads, felt my first movement at 15 weeks, which is strange as I didn't feel DD until 25 weeks -though she was a placid baby and is a placid child. It's going to be an active unsleeping baby, I know it!!

20 weeks today - so halfway through, properly counting down now.

Ambi · 09/04/2012 11:07

Oh and yes, I'm eating for 5 atm. I look fat cos I am not pg. I'm still believing that the whoosh of the hospital doors on my way out I'll have dropped a couple of dress sizes [buwink]

PickleSarnie · 10/04/2012 21:25

Yay! A boy ruskie! Boys are ace. They get better toys for starters. Although my DS has been using his wheelbarrow to collect snails in which he then llicks. So, whilst they are ace, they can also be pretty disgusting!

Hope you enjoyed the prosecco ruskie . I've not had anything to drink this time around.. Not because I'm being virtuous but because my heartburn has been so bad, that it makes me feel Ill thinking about it. I would kill for a glass of white but I don't think I could cope with the painful repercussions. The doctor prescribed me ranititidine but it's done sod all. Spend every evening burping for Britain. Am sure DH must find it so hard to not pounce on me because I'm just so damn irresistible at they moment. Not!

I can't believe you braved ikea on a weekend ambi. I'm not sure that even the lure of mini dime bars and meatballs could get me in there! We do need to decorate DS's room though. Planning on moving him out of the cot in the nursery into his big bed in his new room before new baby arrives. Don't want to feel he's been ousted by a small, noisy usurper. But the new bed just looks sooooooo big. Can't believe he's growing up so quickly!

harmonyb23 · 11/04/2012 10:25

Hello everyone! Sorry haven't been on in ages been so busy! It looks like I may be having my 3rd boy; ultrasonographer said she couldn't get a good look at the genitals but she seemd fairly certain that what was in the pictures was a willy (will post a link later). I am a little dissapointed but the baby was healthy and I love little boys!

Am starting to show quite a bit now, bump is definitely bigger this time round. Whether that be due to me losing quite a bit of weight before getting pregnant or because LO's will be quite close together in age this time I'm not sure! Will post a link to both my bump pic and baby later when I am on an actual PC. Hope everyone is keeping well. X

Ooh, Ikea on a weekend... noooo. We live 10 mins away from one so Friday night's usually good (doesn't say much about our social life does it?) Sorry the heartburn's so bad Pickle. Mine seems to have calmed down but plenty of burps still to be had.
Am excited about having a boy. Went with DP to get some clothes and it was so funny, he kept choosing things that looked like his own clothes in miniature. He totally wants a little mini-me! Got some cute babygros from Next and TK Maxx came good - Petit Bateau tops for £10 instead of £30:)
Ambi - I can't resist food either. Made chocolate brownies yesterday and scoffed one down with double cream Blush. Insisted DP took the rest to work with him. Will be wearing a muumuu for the wedding in May if I don't sort it out...

PickleSarnie · 13/04/2012 18:06

Congrats harmony! Three boys will be fab! If a little crazy!

Have bought omenprazole from boots. It says on the label you can't take whilst pregnant but I know you can because the doctor I saw last time I could (he looked up his database thing). It's a miracle! Am now only having 2 gaviscon tablets a day which is fab. Will go to doctors and grovel for a prescription once these run out. Unfortunately, I know have a cold, so I wouldn't even be able to taste that wee glass of wine I'm lusting after. Harrumph. And I have conjunctivitis which is icky and really attractive looking. Not. Goodness, I'm a right old whingebag at the moment.

Am size of bus this time around. I figure that wants left of my stomach muscles from last time aren't even bothering to put up a fight this time. Hope I don't continue to expand at this rate or I won't be able to fit behind a wheel/ through doors!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend x

mrsb83 · 15/04/2012 08:12

Hi,
Hope you don't mind me joining. I'm pregnant with my first. Had the scan last week and discovered it's a boy. My DH is so excited! I'm 28 and due 19/8/12.

PickleSarnie · 16/04/2012 18:46

Hi and welcome mrsb!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. I still have horrible conjunctivitis so worked from home today. Didn't think my colleagues would appreciate catching my eye bogies. Had craving for macaroni and cheese with beetroot which turned everything very pink. Don't think I'll be winning any michelin stars anytime soon.

Has anyone thought about names? I can't think of a single boys name that I like and hasn't already been used by friends.

ruskiewicz · 18/04/2012 15:23

Hi all,

Welcome to you mrsb... looks like there's a lot of boys on the way! Pickle - sorry to hear about your eyes, sounds horrible.

Am also struggling with names. And yes, a few we like have already been taken. We quite like Joseph (can be shortened to Joe maybe) but other than that I think we need to get some library books out.

Still in a baking frenzy: lemon curd butterfly cakes at the weekend, coconut cake yesterday... Buttercream is fast becoming a staple part of my diet. BTW, had anyone been feeling low recently? Haven't had mood swings as yet but for about 3 days last week felt properly down and kept crying in the evenings. Feel better now thank God - must be the hormones...

Cupcake83 · 19/04/2012 09:30

Hello ladies,

I hope you don't mind me hopping onboard with you.

I am pregnant with my first child due on 20/08/12... unlike most of you though its a girl! At least we think it is when we went for the scan last week the sonographer said something like "there are no obvious boy bits"..

Anyway we're still doing everything in the nursery neutral just in case. To be honest though, I don't really like the really girly or boyish themes in the shops anyway.

ruskie sorry to hear you've been feeling low. I was really bad at the beginning upto about 14 weeks. Neither me or DH got the rush of excitement feelings you're "supposed" to get even though our baby was very much planned and very much wanted. I think it was just a mix of hormones and feeling anxious about the whole thing. Try not to worry, most people I have spoken to have the same feelings at some point in the whole process. I found myself talking to DH when we were going to sleep about my worries which gradually over the last few weeks have turned into excitement and amazement at what we have managed to do. It feels more real now we can both feel her moving and now that I have a definite bump.

Stinkyminkymoo · 19/04/2012 21:38

Hi guys!! Good to see a few more faces! Sorry I haven't been around all week, things have been so hectic with one thing and another!

BabyStinky is good, very active at night, likes to give me a good boot in the bladder at 3am Wink

Wow though?! How many boys?! We don't know what we are having, but DH really thinks it is a bot and the only decent name we've come up with is a boys name. Really struggling with girls names!

So if I haven't mentioned it, we are getting the plumbing re done in our house, as in the whole plumbing in the whole house! We moved in in dec and moved back out in feb. it looks like a bomb has gone off but I am pleased with the progress and the main bathroom is lovely. The baby room was a bit more of a disaster and pretty much had to be gutted and will need re-plastering. Hey ho, I have picked the most awesome curtain material and colours so can't wait for it to all be finished!

Am off on holiday tomorrow morning (sorry but yay!) for a week. Work has been hell and DH and I have spent no time together since feb as we are living either at his mothers or my parents. Not romantic.

I hope to hear of some lovely updates and look forward to catching up with you guys in a week! Grin

ruskiewicz · 20/04/2012 14:29

Hi Cupcake, thanks for the cheer-up... am back to normal now. Hopefully was just a blip. I'm not convinced by everything I read - it's probably quite normal to have ups and downs all the way through, not just in the first 12 weeks.

Congrats on having a girl. I'm not really a pink person either - I studied interior design and am a bit of a design snob. Same with pink baby clothes, although you'd best be careful with your credit card as there's so much more choice for girls!

Am also getting lots of kicking. He's at it all the time but I'm with you Stinky - he especially likes trampolining at 3am. I'm so jealous you're getting away for a week (and of the posh new bathroom). Renovations are a real pain to get done.

The bathroom's our next project. We now have really nice bedrooms and kitchen - just want everything done by the time the baby gets here. Hmm... better get our backsides in gear!

PickleSarnie · 25/04/2012 08:36

Hi cupcake, hope the nursery decoration is going well.

Hope you're feeling a bit better ruskie. I was a hormonal crazy person last time. Crazy mood swings all the time. My DH deserved a medal for putting up with me. He now you're in the "nice bit" of pregnancy that things will be easier.

Everyone seems to be getting bathrooms done. Weve spent several weekends now looking at taps and shower heads. Isn't being a grown up just sooooo exciting?! Hmm. Want to get the ensuite done before baby arrives. Our house had just been recently decorated, new kitchen installed etc before we moved in so we haven't had to do anything. Apart from the ensuite which rather disgustingly has a carpet. Vom. So got to get rid of it!

Having bit of a ridiculous dilemma about names. If its a girl, the only name me and DH can agree on is one that, when pregnant with DS over two years ago, my friends DH said to me (and our other friend who was also pregnant) "if it's a girl, don't call it X". Which was a bit ridiculous but we purposely didn't consider it, even though I'd always like the name ( the real name not "X"!) In the end, both me and friend had boys so wasn't an issue. Now DH has gone off the girls name we chose so the only other one we can agree on is the one my friend's DH told us not to use.

Surely you can't "bagsy" names for nearly three years.?! They're not pregnant, and as far as I know, not even trying. I'm 36. A lot of friends have had a lot of babies before me so I've had to score a lot of names off my list. Should I have to score another one for a hypothetical baby that, even if it becomes a real baby, would only have a 50% chance of being a girl?!
Sorry for such a long rant!

Stinkyminkymoo · 26/04/2012 23:58

Hi guys! Hope y'all well! Last night of holiday Angry I hear the weather is disgusting at home. Awesome.

What is it about being pregnant and renovating? Everyone I've ever known who is/has been preg renovates! Weird huh! I can't wait to get home and see the mess left behind progress made!

Re name, why do people do this? How can you own a name? If you don't want someone I use it, don't bloody tell people! And 3 years? If she gets pissed about it ignore her, I would go ahead and use if you like it, and it's a girl!
