Hello, my name is Becky and I have just got my BFP after TTC for 5 months with 1 MMC a month ago.

I noticed that no-one had started a August 2012 antenatal club so thought I might start one here. Welcome to all!

Here are my stats;

Please let me know if I am doing anything wrong, I've never started a thread before!

Its good to see some NW Mners on this thread, had a meet up on my last ante natel but had to go to Leeds.

Still no sodding scan, I spent last week chasing the MWs for booking appt, spoke to team leader on Fri who has booked it for next Tues (13w) and advised she's ordering an urgent scan. Phoned the ultrasound dept at the hospital today to see if they have the appt yet, no record of me at all Angry I think my MWs are utter shit at the moment. I've been terrified there'll be no hb for weeks amd really want this scan to put my mind at ease so I can enjoy this pg. Grrrr sodding healthcare professionals.

0FrillyKnickers0 · 16/02/2012 14:04

Totally know what you mean Ambi. i only got my date through a week ago and am booked in for a scan a week today and i will be 13+2. I wonder if we have the same midwife?!

ruskiewicz · 16/02/2012 16:30

Hello all...
Had my scan yesterday (at 12+5) and all was good, apart from the baby wouldn't lie still and they struggled to get the measurements etc.
Sorry to hear about those of you having problems - it seems to be the norm. Was told 3 weeks ago that I'd be contacted by an obstetrician re. B12 injections (still nothing). And when I showed up for the scan with DP they said they had no record of my appointment (despite me showing them the letter).
Told them we were staying until the scan had been done as we'd had to take time off work and fortunately it was OK. All this with my legs crossed after 2 bloody pints of water...
Hi to you Missduff. Typical that the carpark had about 10 empty spaces yesterday when I wasn't the one doing the driving!
Although I have to say Warrington Hospital cafe does a mean plate of chips and gravy.

Naturally281110 · 16/02/2012 18:49

Hello everyone!
Anyone else still totally exhausted? Am running round after a boisterous 14 month DS and absolutely shattered! I was tired last time but not like this (and I'm not even "working" at the moment!).
Any good advice from anyone how to boost my energy levels? Am taking pregnecare plus omega already. Am 15 weeks and thought I'd be feeling better soon- still terribly nauseous Confused
Poor DH is getting home from work to a house that looks like we've been burgled and toys and mess everywhere Blush

missduff · 17/02/2012 22:37

Naturally I am exactly the same, I only work 3 days a week and on the days I'm off with DS (2&1/2) I do nothing. DP gets home from work to the set of a WWII movie and cleans and tidies and makes my tea. I feel a bit guilty but only a tiny bit lol.
He got home yesterday and looked round at the reasonably tidy house and said ''where have you been today?'' ''nowhere'' ''you must have been somewhere?'' the poor thing was quite confused that I had been at home all day but yet the house was still habitable lol.

Some days I feel semi normal and I feel like I'm getting the old me back and then the next day I'm energyless again Sad
I tend to find I'm more tired on the days when I feel sick which to me proves it's mainly the hormones causing the tiredness so I'm kinda just thinking its just a matter of waiting for these bastard hormones to bugger off!

Naturally281110 · 18/02/2012 09:57

Hi missduff- hope you feel better soon- it is horrible but I keep telling myself there will be a lovely outcome at the end of it (like months of sleepless nights Wink). It's not like we can even fall back on a caffeine hit to pep us up?? Am I right in thinking we're advised no more than 2 cups of caffeinated drinks a day?

PickleSarnie · 18/02/2012 11:28

I think that's about right naturally, although depends what caffienated drink. I think the guidelines are 200mg a day which is about 2 shots of espresso. So tea and yucky instant coffee would be a lot weaker than espresso.

Naturally281110 · 18/02/2012 15:38

Sob! I love tea! I find it harder to give up than alcohol! It's scary how everything nowadays is bad for us- my mum was told to drink sherry with me and Guinness when she was pregnant with my sister! To calm the womb allegedly! How times have changed!

PickleSarnie · 18/02/2012 17:33

You could ditch the tea and eat 8 bars of daily milk instead! That's my plan at least.

I remember reading a pregnancy manual from the 70's and it said "if you smoke, try to cut down to 10 a day" !

PickleSarnie · 20/02/2012 17:22

Eurrrrrgh, is anyone else the queen of flatulence? I can't stop burping (and worse - sorry for the TMI). DH is such a lucky man! - especially since I'm sat here in scraggy pyjamas (which I only change out of if I'm venturing into public) and no make-up because I'm too knackered to bother.

Anyone know of any way to make it stop?! Am swigging gaviscon from the bottle but it's not helping.

Stinkyminkymoo · 20/02/2012 19:46

Well I'm Hal I'm not the only one feeling shit. I've had cystitis all weekend and felt so awful I couldn't bear to go to work feeling like my bladder was on fire.

I've also been feeling twingey and uncomfortable, so not great all round. Sad

ruskiewicz · 21/02/2012 20:04

I've been oinking like crazy, and the heartburn's pretty nasty too. It helps if you eat smaller portions more often - a big dinner and I feel like it's all stuck in my windpipe.
IBS has made a comeback too (especially at night).
My major issue is needing to wee at 3am every single morning Angry. I lie there trying to ignore it, then give in and go to the bathroom, then am wide awake for hours until it's time to get up (7am).
Permanently knackered.

PickleSarnie · 22/02/2012 09:16

Definitely going to attempt to eat smaller meals. I keep having to pop so many gaviscon that they bloat me up so I have to take a windeze to "deflate" oh, the glamour of it all.

I can't remember a time I didn't have to get up at 3am for a wee ruskie, I have the worlds smallest bladder. But now I was at 3 and every half hour after that. The smell of coffee still makes me want to heave so can't even rely on that to wake me up.

Apologies. I've just realised that I've mentioned trumping, peeing and puking in one post. And its only just turned 9am. Sorry!

Stinkyminkymoo · 23/02/2012 07:26

I'm good on the trumping, but peeing at least 3/4 times in the night. Really not sleeping well.

The biggest problem I have at the moment is my short term memory. It would be funny if it wasn't so bad. Forgetting what I go into a shop for, forgetting the code for my phone, putting in my DH's pin number into my own card and as for work, I'm amazed I still have a job after the monumental cock ups of the last week.

I swear this had better not last too much longer or I'll go mad. Angry

PickleSarnie · 25/02/2012 13:55

I don't think it goes away stinky. I'm planning on blaming baby brain until they are at least 18!!

Stinkyminkymoo · 25/02/2012 18:45

Good plan Pickle... I'll also blame my unhealthy obsession for pain au chocolat on the baby too Wink

ruskiewicz · 26/02/2012 14:35

Not suffering too much from baby brain just yet, thank God - my new job is a nightmare (mega-multitasking, impossible-to-decipher computer systems, overworked and moody collegues etc). Thank God it's temporary :o

Been absolutely knackered this past week... isn't trimester 2 supposed to be the one where your boobs stop hurting and you feel re-energised?

Anyone been out buying maternity clothes yet? I'd recommend Mothercare for jeans (2 pairs: one £20, one £24, both dark denim, one pair skinny). Tried Matalan but the fit of all the clothes was weird and the changing rooms were really dirty, which put me off.

Got a pack of 2 maternity bras from M&S. Gone up to a D cup from a B. The bras are pretty ugly, surgical-looking things but at least they fit.

Any suggestions for nice maternity ranges welcome. Ordered the La Redoute catalogue so will let you all know whether it's any good :)

PickleSarnie · 26/02/2012 15:43

I'm waiting for that miraculous transformation from blotchy and knackered to blooming and energized too ruskie but it doesn't appear to be happening. Sigh. I just don't think I'm a bloomer.

New Look are quite good for maternity. Especially since they're not expensive. Resent spending money on clothes I'm only going to wear for a few months. Although I did treat myself to a lovely Isabella Oliver dress last time. Wait until they have discount codes and it makes it a bit more affordable. I've resisted getting my maternity clothes down from the loft so far. Although now only have one pair of jeans that fit and they are usually covered in toddler snot so I should probably think about doing it soon.

Am currently hiding from the telly. Whilst I was cooking dinner, Scotland got 10 points on the rugby. So am now scared to go into living too in case I jinx it. And they lose....again.

Stinkyminkymoo · 29/02/2012 20:15

I honestly thought my 1st trimester was a breeze and that the 2nd would be just as easy.

Not so. I have the face of a greasy, spotty teenager. Unfair. Angry

Stinkyminkymoo · 04/03/2012 09:56

So, anyone got any movement yet? I had a little flicker last week but nothing since. It's just over 2 weeks until my next scan, so am looking forward to the signs that everything is still ok in there!!

PickleSarnie · 04/03/2012 16:42

Ive been feeling a few flickers of movement that I'm fairly sure aren't wind stinky. Another 3 weeks till my next scan so its nice to feel it.

I'm up at my parents for the weekend. They looked after DS whilst we treated ourselves to lunch out. Wish we hadn't bothered. We both got food poisoning which struck in the middle if dinner out with friends. I had ordered the tastiest looking steak ever but couldn't eat any of it. Gutted.

Is anyone going to find out the sex at the scan? I don't want to but DH does. We didnt last time and I liked the surprise. Got no preferences either way so not fussed about knowing. Another boy would be lovely (and cheaper) but a girl would be nice too (although I think I'm allergic to pink!)

Stinkyminkymoo · 04/03/2012 21:36

It's all very exciting isn't it! nasty about you food poisoning Pickle, sounds horrendous Sad

My 20 week scan is on the 23rd so just over 2 weeks to go. So excited, we've decided to not find out, DH would really like a boy, I think he's worried that if it's a girl, it means another pony... Wink

I don't really care, as long as the pregnancy goes well, the birth isn't too traumatic and baby stinky is healthy then that would be awesome enough for me Smile

PickleSarnie · 06/03/2012 09:55

Have started now viewing all food with suspicion. May live on toast from now on!

My DHs friend were told they were having a girl. That girl is now called Jack. So I figure if I don't know then they cent get it wrong!

Had mahoosive wobbler trying to find something to wear at the weekend. I even cried in the middle of a busy shopping centre on a Saturday afternoon. Nothing fits. Everything just makes me look fat. Gave in and bought a pair of maternity jeans which look nice apart from my constant hoiking them up to stop them working they're way down to my knees. New look had quite nice maternity clothes last time but this time around they are all frumpy mum tops of those awful "hands off my bump" t-shirts. Anyone found anything nice to wear?

Stinkyminkymoo · 06/03/2012 10:00

No I can't find a thing that doesn't make me look like a stuffed seal. I have to go to a party on the 24th and I will look gross as my skin is horrid and my face is spotty.

I'm staying at home only leaving to go to see the horses (thy won't laugh at my ridiculous face!) Sad
