Hello, my name is Becky and I have just got my BFP after TTC for 5 months with 1 MMC a month ago.

I noticed that no-one had started a August 2012 antenatal club so thought I might start one here. Welcome to all!

Here are my stats;

Harmonyb23 (23) Due date 19/08/12 DC#3

Please let me know if I am doing anything wrong, I've never started a thread before!

Big Envy at all the scans going on, at this rate I'll get my 12w scan around 20w. Last time I managed to get 4 scans [lucky], not due to any complications, just DD not keeping still so they can check properly.

Ambi · 03/02/2012 21:42

Hey ruskie, just noticed you're in Cheshire, I'm in Cheshire too. Souless?? could be close then Wink

ruskiewicz · 04/02/2012 20:20

Ambi - how about Warrington (Birchwood)? Beat that if you can... we went to Shropshire today and I was getting overexcited at the sight of anything built pre-1970!

Ambi · 05/02/2012 10:41

You are waving distance, I'm Lowton, which is almost a village but Leigh is so very close... Ikwym about some parts of Birchy though tbh. I worked there for years, close to Midwifes though, expect thats where they'll send me for appts. So may see you in Warr hosp when the time comes??

ruskiewicz · 05/02/2012 14:41

Hi Ambi - went near there today I think (am working at Leigh Sports Village next week so went to suss it out).
I'm booked in at Warrington which seems OK but got a parking ticket last week when I went in - the parking there is appalling (no spaces at all). DP has already suggested we take a taxi come baby time.
You may end up with the same midwife as me... she's very nice BTW

JenJen84 · 06/02/2012 09:45

Hi,
I have just found this thread, currently pregnancy calculator says I'm due 10th Aug 2012, though yet to have any scan etc!
Currently worried because I am said to be about 11 weeks along and yet to hear from midwives - have text them this morning!
Have got/had nausea, sickness, appetite loss, sore and larger boobs and no period since Nov lol
:)
Glad to meet you all, love this place, it's huge and scary but everyone is very helpful!

Stinkyminkymoo · 06/02/2012 22:09

Hi jenjen I'm due 11th aug and I'm currently at 13 weeks, so I would guess you are about the same.

My scan is tomorrow, I'm excited but nervous, I've been feeling a bit uncomfy after sitting down for a while and then having to get up. Am hoping this is normal and not an ominous sign...

Will let you know how I get on Smile

Deafworm · 07/02/2012 11:01

Congratulations Jenjen, I'd definitely be nagging the midwives if I were you, I'm dated 11+3 with a due date of 25th August so you must be further on than me with that due date, if you want the unchallenged fold scan there's only so much time they can do it in. Hope you get somewhere with them.

Hope your scan goes well stinkyminkymoo.

I finally seem to be able to function a bit better so decided to give the prenatal Pilates DVD I bought at 5 weeks a go! I just did the standing Pilates segment and either my fitness has taken a nosedive or she works you harder than I'd expected in a pregnancy DVD! I feel better for doing it though, can feel it in some of my muscles and watching 2.7yr dd join in and huff and puff as the woman exhaled was hilarious Grin now being subjected to Annie by 6yr old who is off with an ear infection.

How are you all doing today?

JenJen84 · 07/02/2012 13:33

Thanks deafwormI text both midwives yesterday and had no reply, I'm half tempted to ring them today, I hate nagging but I really do need to get in to at least see how far along I am!

Good luck with your scan stinkyminkymoo

Deafworm · 07/02/2012 13:53

Ring Jenjen, at least then you will get a time frame for when you will see them. Proper ante natal checks are always pointed out as being important so making sure you get them must be too

JenJen84 · 08/02/2012 09:12

Can anyone suggest whether I ring my GP (where I sent off the forms) the hospital or the midwives themselves? I guess if the midwives are out and about and/or haven't been given my info yet they wont be able to help, so maybe the hospital is the best bet?

LIG1979 · 08/02/2012 13:30

Hello all,
Jenjen Congratulations and welcome to the thread! I would probably ring the midwife as they probably have a closer relationship with the early pregnancy unit. (Where I am it doesn't seem like for most cases the Dr is involved much at all unless there are problems.)

I am having a very fat day after getting on the scales - found out I have put on 10lbs at 14 weeks. Definitely have a pouch of blubber Sad. I am hoping it will slow down now that the nausea has gone and I feel more like a normal person again. How much has everyone else put on?

PickleSarnie · 08/02/2012 14:07

Congrats jenjen, definitely call the midwife. Ours never answer the phone but they're pretty good at getting back to you when you leave them a message.

LIG, i have found a solution to unwanted weight gain. It's called denial! I've not been anywhere near a set of scales since my booking in appointment so have therefore put on a single pound. Even though I'm sat here with my jeans undone because I cant button them having just eaten my way through an entire packet of Tuc crackers.

PickleSarnie · 08/02/2012 14:07

therefore "not" put on...

Naturally281110 · 08/02/2012 14:59

Hello everyone!
Congratulations to you all. Am due August 9th with my second. Bit of a surprise as I have a 14 month DS- stopped Breastfeeding in October then boom pregnant again in November!
Been flat out for 6 days with horrendous diahorrehea and vomiting bug caught off my DS. Had very strong period pains and back ache, saw GP yesterday for check up who said baby seems ok but very scared of miscarriage as only just told all our family and friends we're expecting again- definitely taken the shine off it for me all this worrying :(

JenJen84 · 08/02/2012 15:19

Thanks everyone, they finally got back and are coming round tomorrow :)

Hugs for you naturally I can imagine how frightened you are x

Stinkyminkymoo · 08/02/2012 17:05

Had my scan yesterday and all went well, though was tricky as it was lying in an awkward position, eventually got to see and s/he was really wriggly! Was amazing to see, it feels very real now! Grin

jenjen, you must be 13+5 if you are due the day before me. Glad you got through.

Naturally, I'm sure it will all be fine. X

PickleSarnie · 08/02/2012 17:09

Huge congrats stinky!

Naturally, I had the puking bug just before Christmas and every part of me ached but think it was all due to the strain from throwing up and the emptiness and dodginess of my stomach. Am sure it's just that and all is fine!

harmonyb23 · 08/02/2012 18:54

Hello everyone! Sorry haven't posted in a long time. Had my scan today, measuring 12+1 so am due 21st August. Was lovely seeing the little bean wiggling around. Can't wait till 20 week scan now!

missduff · 10/02/2012 13:27

Hi ladies!
Not been on for a while but just had my scan this morning and they brought my date forward a couple of days so now due 21st August, Harmony we are due the same day Smile

picklesarnie I love your denial technique, it is one I am following myself at the momonet. In last pregnancy I really kept an eye on it but this time I'm not even looking at the scales when I have to get on them for MW.

Welcome to the newbies!!

ooooohhhh so excited now, feels really real now. I can now go and buy a baby name book and maybe a few other bits and bobs Grin

Chocchip88 · 11/02/2012 19:20

Congrats all on successful scans! I finally have my NHS scan next week at 14+6 although my dates might change again after that!
Hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend. Smile

Stinkyminkymoo · 12/02/2012 11:45

How are we all feeling? I feel good but tired looking forward to feeling some movement, not long now surely?! Grin

PickleSarnie · 13/02/2012 10:43

Hi all, congrats on all the scans.

Sorry that every time I'm on here recently, I just seem to be moaning but had yet another crap weekend with most of Saturday spent in hospital again. After the last big bleed, I had no more. However, at my scan on thursday they found quite a sizeable haematoma which is where the bleeding must have come from. The sonographer said she'd be surprised if I didn't bleed again. And, true to her word, I started bleeding on Saturday morning. Nothing like last time, last time was massive gushes of red blood, this is just constant brown blood and only when I wipe (sorry for the TMI!) Went to hospital - they checked my cervix which is closed and booked me in for a scan next Monday. Still got brown sludge when I wipe but am on constant knicker checking alert for anything worse.

Apparently it (the haematoma) may be reabsorbed, or I may continue bleeding and nothing bad happens, or I may bleed and it all goes wrong. There's nothing they can do so I'm just waiting now. Uuuuuurrrrrgh.

Sorry, whinge over now!

0FrillyKnickers0 · 14/02/2012 09:32

Hey everyone! I was on here ages ago but left cause I was freakig out quietly to myself. All ok now, apart from the hyperemesis! Please tell me I'm not the only one?

I'm 12 weeks today and have my scan on 23rd Feb. Been signed off work for 4 weeks and already 1 hospital trip due to dehydration. Fun times. I'm really hoping that I will see things start to turn around now!

How are you all doing? Anyone else still waiting on a scan? X

missduff · 15/02/2012 12:40

ruskie and ambi you're not that far from me, I'm in Swinton.
Yes once took my mum to Warrington hospital and remember driving around for ages to find a space.
I'm lucky here as my Mum's house is within walking distance of Hope Hospital and when baby comes they have a parking spaces right outside the birth centre which they'll let us use when I'm in labour n when we're taking baby home and they don't even charge Smile

The weirdest thing just happened to me. My next door neighbour just knocked on and asked if I would like a car seat, play gym or bouncer. It took me a minute to take in what she was saying, I was thinking ''why is she offering me stuff when my DS is older than her dd'' n then I realised that she must know I'm pregnant. I said ''oh you know I'm pregnant then?'' she said that one of the neighbours told her, but I've not told anyone and there's no way that she could have been told by anyone else cos the only people who know are close family and friends.
Yes I've got a bit of a belly but I wasn't the slimmest of women before I was pregnant so for all they know it could just be too much wine that's caused my belly. This woman didn't say ''I think she might be pregnant'' she said that i am. As though you'd actually go round telling people without checking first!

As you can gather I'm pretty pissed off about it, it's mainly annoyed me because theres still a lot of people who don't know and there's all
My neighbours gossiping about me.

I'm a bit worried that I've upset my friend cos I was a little taken aback by it and not sure if I was a little rude to her.
