Hope you don't mind the slight tweaking of the thread title :) I was feeling creative! Not that it matters, at this rate it won't last more than a week...!

Oh well, I had planned to sweep and mop the kitchen floor. I suppose I should be grateful I did this before I started!

SantaSHO · 15/12/2011 15:43

I'm not bothering with rlt this time. I didn't find out about it until about 38wks last time, I did down it from then on but dd came out that quick I doubt it had anything to do with the rlt.

Thought I would tidy the kids room and check the mattress fits the cot. Big mistake! I'm now struggling to straighten my right leg.
I LOVE being pregnant, but I really want to have this baby to get rid of the pgp. Fed up feeling like an 88yo, I want to feel 27 again! :(

FrillyMilly · 15/12/2011 15:44

Oh is cakes sad face at your olive oil mishap? This thread is moving too fast!! Sorry about your oil and at least it was before you mopped. Just watch you don't slip.

SantaSHO · 15/12/2011 15:53

I thought cakes sad face was reaction to the smashed bottle

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 15/12/2011 15:53

Yup - sad face was for Moobee's mishap :)

However I am Angry at the FIVE cold calls I have had today, and at the fact I have apparently run out of chilli powder... which I only realised halfway through making - guess what? A frickin' chilli. Bah. Luckily it's for tomorrow night, so will just have to buy some tomorrow, add it then and hope it doesn't make too much difference

Red I don't have any experience of PCOS but did see this on Kellymom.com which I think is a great site for breastfeeding info. PCOS and BF info

Another one here staying away from Raspberry leaf tea too. I really want this one to stay in there until week 40. Not that I love being pregnant that much but want this Christmas to be an easy one and DD is sleeping so well lately, I'm enjoying the last of the sleep. She didn't start sleeping through until 14 months or so.
Last time round I didn't know about it and the pushing only lasted 45 mins anyway so I'd be happy with doing the same this time too.

Wormshuffler · 15/12/2011 16:07

Oh dear this thread is becoming a lot less fun cats and cakes and more baby and birth stressing! Well I suppose it is an anti-natal thread after all Wink

So I saw the consultant and my googling was all correct. He didn't seem panic-y about the results, but would like the pacenta doppler scan to be repeated next week and didnt want to book my ELCS as it will depend on what next weeks scan says. If there is any down turn then a ELCS will be booked earlier than the 39 weeks he originally decided upon. He also did a blood test for GD to see if that is causing the extra fluid and told me to keep a close eye on movements.
I wish he had booked the CS for 39 weeks and then if it needs to be brought forward cancel it, as I can imagine any choice of days/times I have will vanish as time goes on 39 weeks is the 3rd Jan.

Oh dear about the oil, mulled did it dent the floor?

Ghost glad you got enough movements in the end, when I went in for monitoring yesterday she said a good way to get baby moving was to have a very cold drink and then press on your bump to wake it up!

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 15/12/2011 16:21

not bothering with RLT. Have done some research and it seems like a load of bunkum. Instead I will be stocking up on Starflower and/or evening primrose oil from the time of my next shop, as apparently that helps keep your hormones on a slightly smoother and more even keel post partum

OP posts:
FrillyMilly · 15/12/2011 16:33

Cakes I took starflower oil, evening primrose oil and vitamin B when I had a hormone imbalance whilst trying to conceive. It seemed to work really well. Are they safe when breast-feeding?

All newborn clothes, blankets and sheets washed and currently drying all over the house. Going to nip out and finish Xmas shopping tonight then wrap them. Cards being written tonight too. Then all I need to do is nip to the butchers early next week for my meat and the market for my veg and I'm all set for Xmas/baby arrival.

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 15/12/2011 16:50

Apparently :)

I stupidly took all the sheets off the beds, but am too tired and sore to put the clean ones on. Doh. Hope DH comes home in a good mood... :s

And that was the end of my last Thursday at work for a year. HUZZAH!!

Sorry to hear about the oil bee, that sort of thing only ever happens with the most expensive items, doesn't it?

So, we have snow forecast for the wee hours of the morning - BBC showed quite heavy but soggy snow, but DH reckons it won't be too bad (as a pilot he has to read forecasts for a living). What do you all think? I bet DH will get stuck at work, wonder if I'll make it to NCT tomorrow afternoon? Smile

Mulledbee · 15/12/2011 17:59

I'm glad that the consultant didn't seem too worried wormshuffler.

Thanks for all the olive oily sympathy! :) luckily it didn't dent or damage the tile, but they are cream tiles with cream grout. The grout is now looking slightly discoloured. I'm not sure how it will look after a couple of years - it's only been down for about a month!

Last Thursday for a year ghost - wow! :)

cakes I have similar issues. I keep meaning to do a normal amount of housework but I get so tired so easily.

MissRee that is an impressive tally of breakages!

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 15/12/2011 18:03

I also have snow forecast for tomorrow. I'm just hoping it's not train breaking snow. It's not due until after I get to work so need to get home again as I can't really work from home tomorrow. I have a day from hell of meetings.

Poo! Just announced on the train I'm on that there are signaling probs causing 20 mins delays home. Boo hiss. Sad This train is already about 20 mins late so hopefully that's it already done.....

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 15/12/2011 18:56

OK:
a) wtf have they done to MN? It's all broken when you try to get onto a thread from 'threads I'm on'

b) I am an emotional mess this evening - way more teary even than normal. Luckily DH seems to be in a sympathetic mood, not sure I could take one of his Mr Fix It bracing moods.

Mulledbee · 15/12/2011 19:00

Ahhh marvellous. I've just done the same with an unopened bottle of elderflower cordial. This time it was after the sweeping and mopping. My subsequent mopping attempt has resulted in elderflower cordial smeared all over the floor. Our shoes stick and make a noise like ripping off a plaster when we move.

On the plus side, the discolouration of the floor grout is beginning to even out.

Mulledbee · 15/12/2011 19:02

cakes sorry to hear of your teariness, glad your DH is being helpful though. x

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 15/12/2011 19:06

Aww Moobee - why such a butterfingers today? Just one of those days? I had one last week where I kept walking into everything. I recommend leaving all breakble objects in DH's hands for tonight...?

OP posts:
Oeisha · 15/12/2011 19:47

worm glad to hear the consultant's not too concerned.

moobee sorry to hear of all your spills. Use it as an excuse to sit on the sofa for the rest of the evening...

I don't feel like I've achieved very much today. Feeling kind of grumpy too. Did make a large vat of chilli and re-organise the freezer a bit. 6 tubs of bol. 2 tubs of meatballs and probably 6 of chilli to find homes for. Have also played around with my hospital bag to get another few bits in...it's a very tight squeeze. Done a couple of rounds of laundry too...so could have been less productive. Just feel GRRR!

Humm. Maybe I should go and add extra string to the heffalump mobile...might make me feel like I haven't wasted the day.

MissRee · 15/12/2011 19:52

Ooooh Oeisha, you've just reminded me I've yet to pack my hospital bag Blush

supadupaturkeystupour · 15/12/2011 19:52

makes there has been a bit of a bunfight over an FB like button which was temporarily removed but now back again........

mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 15/12/2011 20:02

moobee I wholly sympathise with clumsiness. I am sick to the back teeth of dropping everything and not being able to pick it up. It's actually getting to me. I almost glassed myself in the face a minute ago.

Bellakins · 15/12/2011 20:36

Evening all, hope everyone is surviving the chilly weather and that babies are hanging on in there! Re the raspberry leaf tea, I've just started taking the capsules (knew I would struggle to drink the tea). About 3 a day at the moment. Figure it can't hurt.

Saw my midwife today and she was concerned I was measuring too small for my dates so she's booked me in for a growth scan. Anyone else had one? I'm a bit worried but excited about seeing baby again! 20 weeks feels like a long time ago...

Oeisha · 15/12/2011 20:42

Oh crap. Have just depressed myself looking at nursing tops. Started off looking for a non-wool, not too synthetic poncho so I can feed Abi without freezing said boob off and FAILED, so I expanded the search to general tops and FAIL. They're not looking worth the money they're asking me to shell out... Xmas Sad

SantaSHO · 15/12/2011 20:58

Sounds like everyone will be glad when today is over and done with! Here's some Brew and Biscuit for you all. Be careful the Brew is hot.

Glad the consultant wasnt too worried and is keeping an eye on everything worm

Had been thinking about deb glad she has her mum by her side

Bella I had a growth scan a few weeks ago as baby is measuring big. It was very quick (helped by the fact that baby was sleeping), the mw took the measurements then sent us to see another mw who examined the measurements and plotted the results on the growth chart in my notes. She explained the results then sent us on our way.
I wouldnt get too worried about it, especially as Iv heard lots, especially on MN, that the growth scans are only really accurate when repeated over a few weeks. HTH

Its lovely to hear of everyone else having snow issues and not me. No offence ofcourse ladies! Xmas Wink

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 15/12/2011 21:01

bellakins I had one on Tuesday. Partly because MW thought I was measuring a bit small but also because they wanted to check baby wasn't too big because of my GD. Bizarre. Baby was bang on average tho. It took about 10 mins and they compare the growth from the 20 wk scan. My MW said they are not concerned particularly if baby is small but only if it looks like the growth has slowed down.
