Hope you don't mind the slight tweaking of the thread title :) I was feeling creative! Not that it matters, at this rate it won't last more than a week...!

I don't know what is going on tonight, dd wont sleep, shes just crying and crying. I'm VERY IRRITABLE and have loads of energy I can't sleep I keep waking myself up. And now i just want to scream and shout at dh who has fallen asleep leaving me to deal with dd despite his protests of 'its ok I've got her, you try and sleep) G'

addictediam · 15/12/2011 00:49

That didn't make a huge amount of sense! I just feel like i actually want to run 5k beating up every one who gets in my way!
Dd is a seprate issue, not sure whats wrong with her but its not helping dh's case!

FrillyMilly · 15/12/2011 05:16

I'm awake!! Can't switch my brain off. Keep thinking of things to do before baby arrives, really need to finish my Xmas shopping. Only a few bits to get really but it feels like loads and I've no energy to do it. Also realised I haven't washed any of the baby stuff yet I've packed my hospital bag which is a bit stupid.

I know what you mean about being irritable addicted. I want to scream at everyone. Threw my gym ball at DH last night cos he did something to annoy me. Can't even remember what! It didn't hurt him but was a good release for me.

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 15/12/2011 05:23

I'm just exhausted and tearful. Dh found me in sobs yesterday morning because the cat had got into the cat food cupboard (and was stuck in there. In hindisght it's hilarious, but just didn't feel funny at the time).

I am really hating my early morning wakeups.

Another that's been awake since 4. Got up at 5 and thought I might as well get ready for work. OH still snoring upstairs he's got another half hour. We think he may have sleep apnea, he's finally agreed to see a doctor so hope he sees it through.

Oeisha · 15/12/2011 07:13

I'm awake now. Alarmingly so. Slept quite well...and that means Missyface hasn't been tangoing in there. Had a few small wriggles where her feet normally are since I've been awake and scoffed a bit of cereal (she usually kicks about when I eat) so that's good, but still, nothing "grand". Hmm
Will finish mi cereal and have another lie down, that usually helps here too.

Typically it's snowed here again and the roads are already VERY slow and one is closed as yet again the council have done NOTHING despite the blatant weather forcasts and warnings. Xmas Biscuit

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 15/12/2011 07:32

Mine was more of a samba at 4am. It was definitely her that woke me this morning. She was a bit quieter yesterday. Aren't they supposed to run out of space soon?

Oeisha · 15/12/2011 07:41

I dont' think Missyface got that memo either...
We're supposed to be getting more obvious hoof/elbow/knee shapes, but less dancing or just plain buggering about in there. She's still sliding between LO and RO...not really sure where she is or what she's doing today.

FrillyMilly · 15/12/2011 07:53

I get lots of feet/elbows poking out. It's like he's going to burst out my belly!! I always find having a really cold drink then having a lie down usually wakes them up. Feel a bit mean afterwards though as basically shocked them awake with the cold.

abeautifulbutterfly · 15/12/2011 08:49

I also had a crap night. DD2 woke again, but I refused to get into her bed, so she came to ours. All my joints ached. My LO is also left-facing and I'm getting manic about lying only on my left side to try and persuade her to turn as don't fancy her turning back-to-back in labour, but I'm so heavy now that my shoulder and left hip/leg go numb, so I turn over, but then remember I shouldn't, so turn back again - and you know how much faff it is to turn over now...

Worm glad to hear you and LO are ok, and that you're going to get extra attention from now on.

SHO hope your DD improves after a duvet day (good excuse for you to have one too!)
Addicted does it help to take your DD into your bed when she's stressed at night like that? At least you don't have to get up to her then Grin

miamamaClaus09 · 15/12/2011 09:09

another one who had a crap night! seems we're all experiencing it.
2nd night in a row where, literally, I have had 2 hours max sleep. And still had to come into work. I don't know how I'm going to get through today!
my legs will not stop twitching as soon as I lie down, I can't stop moving them and stretching them. Was awake until 4am.
Tonight, I am having a bath then trying again for a decent sleep. it's bound to happen sooner or later!!! Xmas Hmm isn't it? Xmas Confused

rednosedreindeerhead · 15/12/2011 09:14

morning ladies Xmas Smile

i wasn't on here all day yesterday and I can't believe how much i missed!! Hope you're all ok this morning makes and sho sorry you're exhausted Sad I think we're all having moments like that here and there when things seem too much. I've been trying to do more of the hypno stuff to help me de-stress and relax...not sure it's really doing much though.... was so late to my breastfeeding class yesterday because of the stupid tube and got really really stressed and wanted to cry in front of everyone (especially since i was on my own because OH had to work, and everyone else had their partners there!)

never mind....

it was really good in the end, she taught us about something I hadn't really heard about - laidback breastfeeding, where you basically just lie there and wait for the baby to latch itself on. sounds good to me!

she mentioned something in passing about women with polycystic ovaries sometimes having difficulties with milk production, but then stopped talking about it and moved on to something else, so I'm going to have to look that one up unless anyone else has some info to offer?

i also wanted to know more about expressing as I'm going to have to do it quite early on as I'm the main earner and need to start work again fairly quickly, but she scooted over that too. Lots more research for me!

I went to see the English National Ballet do the Nutcracker yesterday as my OH was playing in the orchestra. It was amazing. I cried FOUR TIMES, mostly at the idea of my son listening to his daddy play music. BOO HOO!!!!!!! Ridiculous!! Xmas Grin

rednosedreindeerhead · 15/12/2011 09:15

mia mine are so twitchy too, it's horrible isn't it. Some nights it's not there at all though and I can't work out what's making it happen/not happen..

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 15/12/2011 09:17

Really sorry for those with bad nights - it really sucks. Nap if you can and don't forget that you have every right to bail out of work a bit early for a nap - if you've dragged yourself in, they can spare you for what would be an unproductive hour or two anyway!

I'm feeling a bit crampy today and ppm hasn't moved yet (often does thrashing before 7am, but I was sleeping today) so am semi-anxiously awaiting a hoofing while letting my mat cover person field emails. This has happened before but will be counting the kicks carefully today!

On the plus side, it's my last Thursday at work for a year Smile

cakes btw thanks so much for the hypno rec - have been listening late at night and it does seem to help me sleep if nothing else!

SantaSHO · 15/12/2011 09:20

Another crap night here too. Although I was only getting to sleep at 4. Dd's cold meant she was struggling to breath and wouldnt sleep propped up by pillows. So everytime(every 5mins) she struggled she would start screaming.

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 15/12/2011 09:20

mia - can you get your DH to rub them? I find a good firm squeeze up and down the length of the leg, even if only for 30 seconds, can really make a difference to the restless leg thing.

In other news the back of my right hand feels weird - all sharp pins and needles/sore/abraded - can;t really explain. It's not itchy and it looks fine, it just feels really odd. I am turning into such a hypochondriac!

woo hoo - 3 hours till my physio appt. Thank fuck.

OP posts:
MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 15/12/2011 09:22

Ghost - you're very welcome. The proof of the pudding will be in your next BP reading I guess - when's your next appt?

OP posts:
MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 15/12/2011 09:27

Sorry for this guys, I'm going after this one, I promise

Ghost - only just saw your last post on the old thread and yes, the SOAS pain does sound exactly like what I'm having. Am hoping my old pal at the physio unit can mend me again!

Hrm, I guess it'll have to be trackie bottoms, huh? sexay.

Butterfly if we put dd in our bed she (most of the time) will go back to sleep, but shes a mover and a turner, so dh and i get kicked, headbutted and hit so we don't get any sleep and it generally only works for around an hour then she decides its time to wake up!

Also with her being ill she's ended up in our bed for the best part of 2 weeks and with the new baby on the way, its not something I want to encourage! She decided she was ready for bed (by walking to the stairgate and saying ninise? I'd given up by that point and had taken her downstairs to play) at 1.45. I then had baby kicking me, contractions and insomnia until close to 3. Dd woke up at 6 and although dh took her downstairs he fell asleep and allowed her to bang on the gate (how he slept through her noise i have no idea!) meaning I didnt get any more sleep. to top it all off when i went to the toilet dh decided to put her down for a nap at 7.30 meaning she was awake by 8.15 when normally she doesn't go for a nap until 8.30-9ish and sleeps for 1.5 hours meaning i can go back to bed get dressed, think about lunch for her and generally tidy around. Xmas Angry

And since I got up I've been having 'hb's' every 5 minutes with horrible pieriody pain, I feel sick and tired dd is climbing all over me and keeps kicking bump and generally being grumpy (who can blame her she hasnt had any sleep either!)

I'm so angry and annoyed this morning, primed to bite off anyones head!

miamamaClaus09 · 15/12/2011 09:40

not a good day all round then!
If I seriously start flagging, I'll ask work if I can go home, but that will mean taking time unpaid as I am using my last holidays for end of next week before Mat leave officially starts.

cakes will get DH to give them a good rub tonight. He was at his Christmas Works do last night so didn't fancy a 2am rub down when he was all tipsy and festive!

hope everyone gets to nap today and the poorly DCs too!

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 15/12/2011 10:02

Sorry Mia, that's rubbish for you, I'd just assumed you could leave, but I'm fortunate with my work I guess. Didn't mean to give you duff advice Blush

Cakes we love the sexay trakkie bs!

Next appt is with the GP on the 22nd...

GiraffeAHolic · 15/12/2011 10:07

Crap night here too, up to the loo 4 times by which time my pelvis had completely given up and was agony Sad

Meant to be doing Christmas baking with Dd today but we're both huddled up watching Cbeebies!

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 15/12/2011 10:13

mia when I had my risk assessment the health & safety lady told me they had to make a room available for me to nap in! I told my boss that and he looked absolutely horrified... I haven't used it yet.

If it's any consolation I'm also at work but I think I had about double the amount of sleep you did.

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 15/12/2011 10:40

Two of my American colleagues (both men) sleep at work all the time so I guess I just thought it wasn't that weird! I've never done so though... It would feel too weird and exposed! I have my own office and could shut the door but it'd be awful if someone walked in.

Mulledbee · 15/12/2011 11:03

Wormshuffler I hope your scan goes ok today.

ghost have you felt movements yet?

Sorry to hear about everyone with sleep problems and joint pains. My hips ache a lot now - particularly when lying down. Still, I have 3 weeks and 3 days till due date! :)

The health and safety person at work did say I could go for a nap if needed, but I would have felt weird. Mind you, if I had have gone for a guilt-free lie down occasionally, I may have been able to work longer. Oh who am I kidding, I love maternity leave!
