Hi, I am five and and half weeks pregnant with baby number two. However I had MC last July at six weeks so very nervous as well as excited. I am due a six week scan on Friday to check if all is well so far. Because of this we haven't told anyone except my parents which is really hard as last time we told all the family but it was a strain listening to their attempts at sympathy when it when wrong. So here I am to announce to anyone that cares to listen that after six months I am pregnant again!! Yeah.

Thanks Pucca...can't believe it happened so quickly after last month...if you remember!!

Hope the party goes well benjaminsmum....

Coriander73 · 07/01/2006 18:00

Just found out that a friend who had a baby girl a day before me in 04, is also pg, due also Sep!! I told her I was too & now DH is having a go saying I shouldn't say anything to anyone until 12 weeks...but I'm finding it impossible second time around!

I was wondering if it's normal at this early stage to be feeling so so so tired? Can't really remember when everything kicked in last time...

Noriesmum · 07/01/2006 18:45

Congrats to all that have had BFP's. Still no sign of AF, but want to give it a few more days before i test.

julezboo · 07/01/2006 19:49

Coriander - i think alot of people who are due in sept are probably feeling the tiredness i know i am, im exhausted in the day but cant sleep of a night and waking up at 5am in a sweat! Lol The nausea has kicked in for me too eww to ketchup cant stand the smell or the thought of it!!!

mabel1973 · 08/01/2006 09:27

I have just woken up this morning feeling dreadful. headache, feel sick and tired. And there I was yesterday saying how great I felt....

Coriander73 · 08/01/2006 10:05

Sorry to hear that Mabel.... Not much fun morning sickness....It's stange as I'm sitting here thinking why don't I have more symtoms & almost wishing I was feeling sick becuase then I would know everything was OK...sounds crazy I know & I don't want to wish it back on myself again as last time it was awful. I'm not even 5 weeks yet so maybe it's just too early.

Coriander73 · 08/01/2006 10:36

Have you got an EDD Julezboo?

Noriesmum, when's af due...or not!

mabel1973 · 08/01/2006 10:53

Hi coriander
I know exactly what you mean - i was thinking the same thing yesterday, but trust me you don't want to feel like this. I don't know if it is morning sickness or just an off day. I have a cracking headache have taken paracetamol but I know it won't even touch it..

Noriesmum · 08/01/2006 10:57

i think it was due on Friday - I forgot to mark the start of my last af in my diary. Have decided to test again on Tuesday if no sign by then.

julezboo · 08/01/2006 13:14

Hi all, Party went very well ds managed to perk up by the end of the day and enjoyed a bit of the party. Having mild cramps today so getting really worried but no bleeding so fingers crossed. I am probably being over paroniod after last time. Told my brother and his wife yesterday and my parents already know. We will wait to tell everyone else until the twelve week scan. Agree with you wholeheartly Corriander, can't wait to be sick no mater how bad it is and it was quite bad first time round.

Again being thick but what is AF? Is there a bit of this website to tell you them all?

Oh my goodness!!!

I just can't believe that this thread has started!! I was on Sept 04, and it honestly feels about 6 months ago..

BIG CONGRATULATIONS everyone. Wishing you happy, healthy pregnancies!

Noriesmum · 08/01/2006 14:10

Benjaminsmum there is an acronym list at the top of the page listing all abreviations.

AF is short for period

benjaminsmum · 08/01/2006 14:27

Thanks Noriesmum! Feel bit of a twit now as it was in front of my eyes all along.

Hmm..Mabel, no I certaintly don't want to have morning sickness again but they do say it's a good sign IYSWIM?! I guess until the first scan it's natural to have that worry at the back of your mind...with DD I started being sick at 6 weeks so like you say...shouldn't wish it on myself...yet it would reassure me...how crazy is that? DH doesn't understand at all...!!!!

Glad the party went well benjaminsmum.....I had cramps for the first 7 weeks with DD...think they are quite normal...but understand totally that you'd be worried...am sure it's all ok. Julie, good luck for the scan..keep us posted! Noriesmum...you too keep us posted too!!!!

BTW...any particular preference on sex?!!!!! The baby that is........We'd like another girl only because that's what we're used to with first DD.....I know it's a cliche but as long as it's OK that's the important thing but if we could choose...defo a baby girl!! (be a bit cheaper too I suppose with the wardrobe she has already at 16 months!!!!!!)

mabel1973 · 08/01/2006 17:36

well its amazing what a few shortbread fingers and an afternoon watching Grease on ITV2 can do - feel much better now. Although been V emotional today for absolutely no reason...

I also keep getting a few cramps and like a 'heavy' feeling perfectly normal though I think.
I don't have a preference on sex, but if I had another boy I wouldn't be disappointed, we found out at the scan last time, but haven't decided whether to this time - what is everyone else going to do?

calvemjoe · 08/01/2006 20:28

Would love a girl this time round but really don't mind. I'm feeling sick, emotional, and the migraines have kicked in (my body hates hormones!) but it makes it all feel so much more real. I'm getting lots of cramps this time round and wondered if it was anything to do with a cs last time? Hope none of you feel too bad! x

benjaminsmum · 08/01/2006 21:24

Glad cramps seem to be normal. I am also feeling really tired. We would love a girl this time round as we already have a boy. Just think it would be fun to have one of each and experience the differences, though as you say at the end of the day a healthy baby will do just fine.

Norriesmum, have you tested yet? If not you must have the patience of a saint I had done five tests by what turns out to be the day my AF was due! Scan showed that I was earlier than I thought - only five weeks and five days when I thought I was six weeks and two days. Thank God they still showed as positive. Let us know your results.

Calvemjoe...think cramps normal whether cs or not. I had an emergency cs under ga last time (which was pants...I am desperate for a VBAC)...am worried though that the scar is still sore at times...only 2% chance of rupture..so I'm told. Has been incredibly itchy since bfp..of perhaps it's all in mind IYSWIM?!

Is it true that boys are more loving towards their Mummy's?!!! My DD is loving but much more a Daddy's girl & not really that huggy either...maybe a boy wouldn't be so bad then?!! No, we don't want to know the sex...that's not to say we weren't tempted last time & I'm sure we will be again....it was a wonderful surprise when I came round in the recovery room!

Noriesmum · 09/01/2006 08:39

I did do a sneaky test on Thursday - but is was BFN, but i was using Clearblue. When we were trying for DS i used Clearblue and it came up neg, but 2 days later First response came up BFP. So thought i would try again tomorrow. Still no sign of AF, so you never know.

fastasleep · 09/01/2006 09:52

Julezboo!! CONGRATS, fantastic news hun!

I think I find out this evening whether I am or not but can you guys all cross your fingers legs and toes and pray that I'm not pregnant please... I have a 22 month old and a 3 month old!! Please nooooo!

..ahem... thankyou... congrats to you all and I hope you don't get morning sickness!

Noriesmum · 09/01/2006 09:59

Will cross everything for you Fastasleep!!

I am starting to feel quite sick, have been winding myself up about it all weekend. Have told DH that if no sign of AF by lunch time then i am off to get a first response test! He says that i am getting really forgetful. He told me something last night and i have no recollection of it this morning. He said if i am not pg, then i must have lost a lot of brain cells when i gave birth to ds in April! Cheeky!

Perpetua · 09/01/2006 10:18

Hello ladies...

Just found out Thursday that we are expecting, we have a 2 year old daughter and until or unless a scan says otherwise our due date is 10th September.

Coriander73 · 09/01/2006 11:10

Congratulations Perpetua...! I have a daughter who is 16 months & like you unless the scan tells me otherwise due 15th September

mabel1973 · 09/01/2006 11:30

congratulations perpetua!
I have just been to the doctors this morning - which was a complete waste of time, because all he said was to go to reception and make an appointment with the midwife. The recptionist told me that because the midwife only does 1 booking in appointment a week, the earliest they can see me is in 7 weeks time, when I will be nearly 13 weeks pg and overdue for my 1st scan! Not impressed. Not sure what I can do now, but might try to speak to the midwife directly.
In answer to your question about boys coriander - I am not sure if they are more loving, but I know my DS gives LOTS of hugs and kisses, in fact he was trying a hug a little girl at the doctors this morning - I think she thought he was a bit wierd....!
