Hi, I am five and and half weeks pregnant with baby number two. However I had MC last July at six weeks so very nervous as well as excited. I am due a six week scan on Friday to check if all is well so far. Because of this we haven't told anyone except my parents which is really hard as last time we told all the family but it was a strain listening to their attempts at sympathy when it when wrong. So here I am to announce to anyone that cares to listen that after six months I am pregnant again!! Yeah.

Hi everyone. Still feeling sick here - and exhausted. Running to get post everyday but no scan date yet!!

HellKat · 09/02/2006 10:39

Mines 9.30 tomorrow. I love being out early, means I can get back and get ds2 down for his nap.
The sunshine's definitely helping!

calvemjoe · 09/02/2006 17:26

Hello everyone. sorry i've not posted for a while but my computers been out of action (bad mumsnet withdrawal!). I'm sorry to hear that you are still bleeding Hellkat, but i'm glad they've found a reason for it.
I'm 10+2 wks and I had my booking appointment today. Midwife asked if I was eating a healthy diet and I admitted to living off toast and potatoes at the mo. She said it's ok as long as I start eating properly soon.
My scan is on the 16th of march and i'll be 15 weeks but it was the 1st available appointment.
I really feel for the people who are being so sick. I just feel sick and hate it so i'd hate to think what you are all going through.

Coriander73 · 09/02/2006 17:35

I had a relatively good day yesterday & started to think maybe the sickess was on it's way out....but oh no. Today have felt dreadful all day & am totally but totally FED UP!!!!!!!! Fingers crossed it'll be over in a couple of weeks....please GOD!!!!!

MIL has been around the last few days helping out whilst DH is away & she's off tomorrow so am feeling a bit sorry for myself.....the house is so tidy thanks to her & all the washing has been done hurrah..!!! I think DD has appreciated having a "well" person around too....

Lovely to hear about your scan Mabel...made me feel quite teary as I suppose because of the sickness I haven't really thought about the baby at all & what is going on daily inside my tummy!

compo · 09/02/2006 19:02

You sound the same as me Cori. I keep thinking I feel a bit better and then by about this time I feel really sick Here's hoping it ends soon!!

kreamkrackers · 09/02/2006 19:19

i hope the sickness settles for you all soon. i just feel ill because i am ill! i have very bad headaches and am extremely tired like last time but this time have very sore boobs, hope they'll go up more than a cup size this time but so far nothing. keep going dizzy as well. in my heart though i feel pg and it's such a lovely feeling, i got my mum to be pack on monday and was shocked again by the size 1 nappy, they're so small and cute and to think dd was put into the big premmie nappies is unbelievable! can't believe she was ever a baby! and so happy that we're going to have a baby.

Coriander73 · 09/02/2006 19:37

Fingers crossed Compo! BTW, I like your names.... For a girl, we're stuck a bit. I like Imogen, DH doesn't, he likes Francesca, I'm not 100%....we both like Megan....but it's funny because whilst I feel like this I just can't & don't want to think about it as it makes me feel worse...wierd huh?!

mabel1973 · 10/02/2006 08:20

cori, compo and KK hope you all feel better soon you have my sympathy. If it's any consolation I'm 10 weeks now and have felt reasonably normal in the last few days, although as I said the other day the sunshine is definately helping!
Cori your MIL sounds like a star, mine lives 5 minutes away and is retired but hasn't offered to have DS for me once, even though I've felt really rotten some days.
HellKat - give us a full report when you get back from your scan X

kreamkrackers · 10/02/2006 10:57

hk - hope you're scan went well.

Highlander · 10/02/2006 10:58

I've never believed in all that craving nonsense, but I could murder anything vinegary at the moment. I've had 2 bags of salt and vinegar crisps since Sunday, and I normally hate crisps.

Bella23 · 10/02/2006 12:41

Morning all
The doctors gave me a leaflet yesterday about do's and don'ts and it says to to NOT eat and I quote: "cooled / chilled foods like pre-cooked meats and pre prepared meals bought from supermarkets or delicatessens" Apparently due to possibility of listeria.
I've never heard this before - do you think this includes pre-packed meat sandwiches?
Thoughts please?

puppy · 10/02/2006 13:11

Hi all,
bella23 sorry I can't help you but would be interested about this as I have the odd ready meal when I am working.
Hellkat hope the scan went well,

I'm still have morning sickness for half the day, and yesterday I had quite bad cramps I just rested when I could and dh went to the chippy for us for tea. My stomach is feeling really hard now and I'm uncomfortable in my jeans so I may go and find some nice joggers till I need to be in maternity.
Having a really good day today, ds 4th birthday today , went to check my bank account online and have recieved three tax credits payments, one £30ish, one £400ish and one £800isk , DH is going to ring them when he gets home from work to see whats happening as we don't want to touch it then find them asking for it back. we normally get £19pw.

Hope everybody is well

8weeks today

mabel1973 · 10/02/2006 13:38

Bella
there is a risk of listeria with all chilled foods that have meats / soft cheeses / salads in them, sandwhiches included. However I would say that the advice your doctors given you is a little OTT. It is getting to a point where they are telling you it is not safe to eat anything!
If you buy ready meals as long as you cook them properly any bacteria would be killed. As far as foods that you wouldn't cook such as sandwhiches, coleslaw etc all reputable food manufactueres carry out daily microbiological testing and with proper pasturisation / cooking there is very little risk.
Hope this helps

Bella23 · 10/02/2006 13:40

Thanks, yes does help
To be honest I agree with you Mabel - it literally is going to get to the point where we can't eat anything !!

kreamkrackers · 10/02/2006 13:50

yes it certainly will. i love chicken and mayo sandwiches from greggs and ate them throughout being pg with dd only 20 months ago so i'm not going to change things now. they'll be saying something like water is harmful next! also (a bit of the point but) there was a programme on tv whilst i was pg with dd saying about the dangers of bf, dp said it's a load of rubbish and banned me from watching it and scaring myself as i was so keen to bf, i'm glad i didn't as they're now back to saying it's the best thing to give your baby.

kreamkrackers · 10/02/2006 13:55

i thought hk would be on here by now, i really hope she's alright.

TopBanana · 10/02/2006 14:29

Hi, I haven?t posted for a couple of weeks (although I have lurked an awful lot and kept up to date with all your stories) because after a great deal of bleeding I thought I had lost my baby. The hospital and doctors were both very unhelpful and told me to just wait until my scan today.

Well I went for my scan and the baby is fine . I have never felt so relieved in my life!! It has a good heartbeat and I am 9 + 2 weeks and therefore due 13th of September

kreamkrackers · 10/02/2006 14:31

great news

puppy · 10/02/2006 14:33

I have been thinking how you got on topban, thats fab news you can now relax

puppy · 10/02/2006 14:33

not thinking, wondering

TopBanana · 10/02/2006 14:35

Thanks. I'll try and enjoy the pregnancy from now on, especially cos the morning sickness has now stopped.

I hope Hellkats ok

homemama · 10/02/2006 14:48

Hi everyone.
Hope todays scans went well!
Yesterday was my worse day so far. I was so ill I thought there must be something else wrong and DH had to come home from work at lunchtime. I'm so ashamed to admit this but I actually wet the bed yesterday afternoon. I was just so sick and dizzy that I couldn't get up (en-suite only 2ft from bed). DH was so good about it. He just helped me to the loo then carried me to the spare bedroom and cleaned up. He even made me feel better by saying that he's sure it happens all the time when people are really ill. I'm still completely mortified but feel I can share with you girls!

Feel slightly better today. Able to reach the toilet anyway! Still too sick to leave the house or even shower but managing.

Is anyone else feeling more worried about this pg than their last? I keep thinking that I can't be that lucky to have another happy, healthy baby. I know this is silly but already worried about the scan esp as haven't been able to keep my folic acid down since 5wks.

Re food, I've been told not to eat pre-packed food too esp salad. Also told to stay away from tuna, and anything with artificial sweetners in.

Cori, can I borrow your MIL? Both my mother and MIL are way to career minded to consider taking time off to help.

homemama · 10/02/2006 14:52

That's great news, Topbanana!
Can't believe your Dr was so unhelpful. The care you get is so varied. In another health authority, they would probably have sent you straight to the EPU for an early scan.

HellKat · 10/02/2006 15:51

Babba's fine! Heart beating away. I'm now 1 day behind so 9 wks today (she put today's scan as the dating one) so now edd 15th Sept.
No more scans until the 20 wk one (which is being booked) but at 11-12 wks I can go and listen to the heartbeat (which is great). We're doing that once then leaving babba to it. We'll let the little one have peace.
Sorry have'nt posted until now girls but my mn was playing up.
Top- {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} I've been worried sick about hun, great to see you!!!! Wonderful, wonderful news about your scan!!!
Puppy- Lucky you!!!!! Know what you mean about not touching it lol bet if you did you'd get a letter wanting it all returned.
