Hi, I am five and and half weeks pregnant with baby number two. However I had MC last July at six weeks so very nervous as well as excited. I am due a six week scan on Friday to check if all is well so far. Because of this we haven't told anyone except my parents which is really hard as last time we told all the family but it was a strain listening to their attempts at sympathy when it when wrong. So here I am to announce to anyone that cares to listen that after six months I am pregnant again!! Yeah.

I think Oscar is a lovely name We've already decided on Edward for a boy and Beth for a girl!!

mabel1973 · 07/02/2006 20:35

hello ladies!

well I had my scan this afternoon - it was great! As soon as the lights went down DS went 'oooo' and was really excited by what was going on bless him. Saw my little baked bean squirming around, kicking his little legs and arms all over the place - very active. I am saying him at the moment, as I am convinced, seeing him wriggling so much on the screen, that I am going to have a little 'bruiser' like DS who'll be another handful for me!! The sonographer said it was a little earlier than they'd normally scan (10 weeks), but still, I expected to see a little prawn, but he wasn't - a proper teeny tiny babe! My date has remained the same 8th september, so am pleased about that, as I was a bit worried I was wrong about my dates and they might put it back.
They have booked me in for my next scan 2nd may, which seems ages away! Sorry it's a long one but I feel really excited now and it seems so REAL!
Homemama I am also on the chocolate milk - I have had a warm nesquick every night before bed for the last 4 weeks!

Angeliz · 07/02/2006 20:47

mabel1973, that's great news So pleased for you and i can't wait to see this one on the screen. How old is your son as we're thinking about taking dd1 (5).
Oscar is lovely, Edward and Elliot are top of our list for a boy.
For a girl i don't know yet.

Normsnockers, go with the flow with food, i am Still love my dinners but am eating lots of junk too. I usually go off coffee but haven't this time so having to stick to a few cups a day and have decaf the rest of the time.
I've been crying nearly all weekend with one thing and another (dd2's jabs were the main concern and theer was a huge hulabaloo with that) i ended up crying in the car for an hour. DP was begging me to calm down but i couldn't stop. I though i was gonna crack up! Things are amplified a million times when you're pregnant aren't they?
HellKat, hope your scan goes o.k!

Everyone else, hope you're all keeping well
Is anyone else really showing? I cannot fit into my jeans anymore and i caught my sillouette in the dark last night and i look proper pregnant. All boobs and belly!!

mabel1973 · 07/02/2006 21:31

angeliz - DS is 14 months, so didn't understand, but we enjoyed having him there and wanted to include him.
I think I am starting to show a little bit now. Can still just squeeze in to my jeans, but next week I'm off to topshop for some maternity ones!

HellKat · 08/02/2006 09:09

Morning all.
Cori- I'm 9 weeks on Thursday too!
Angeliz- Lol I look really far gone already! I was only diddy to start off with but have a huge tum and gigantic boobs (maternity are bras are getting roo small
Mabel- Great news about the scan!!!!!!
Norms- If mcmuffins work, then eat as many as you can. Tbh it does'nt really matter what you eat when you're that sick , something's better than nothing (read that in my pg book )
How's everyone else?
I beat this cold, and feel full of energy today (until I get sleepy this avo lol). Think the gorgeous sunshine's helping!
Have a great day all.
x

puppy · 08/02/2006 09:54

How far along is everybody now?, I have lost track lol, I'm 8wks on fri only four weeks left of this trimester yeah.

I have put 4lb on since conceiving and not showing yet, although my jeans are getting tighter but I put that down to all the junk I'm eating at the mo, just love ben and jerrys phish food at the mo.
Feeling really good today now ( didn't earlier after been sick) and I have a bit more energy.

Mabel glad the scan went well

Oscar is a lovely name coriander, we have not thought of any boys names yet but I do have a list of girls names I like, Elizabeth, Jessica, Emily,Abigail.

ok better go and move our car onto the street or I will never get out of the drive as the lady who lives opposite us is disabled and her cleaner/careworkers etc always park opposite our drive, makes it very difficult for us to get out as we have a large people carrier. Now I'm waffling lol!

curlygirl · 08/02/2006 11:13

I am so pleased to hear a few of you are thinking about maternity jeans. My trousers are definitely getting tight and my maternity bras from last time are too tight! Boo HooCan this be possible? I thought the uterus was supposed to be still a pelvic organ until 12 weeks plus. I am only 9 and a bit weeks. I am also thinking of names already.Boys names are difficult. I like matthew but my surname begins with an 'M' so I think it may sound silly. Also like Harry, Ben and William.

compo · 08/02/2006 13:04

Hi everyone. Great news about the scan Mabel and sorry to hear things have been stressful Angeliz. I had my booking in appointment today. The hospital should send me a scan date for the end of this month. I'm 9+1 today so only 3 weeks of the first trimester left!!

HellKat · 08/02/2006 13:59

Trying to avoid maternity jeans here for as long as poss as I'm not gaining weight anywhere except for my tum. I've got a huge bump already. I'm having to resort to wearing my size 10's undone or an old pair of size 12's (bit big everywhere) that I can do up over my tum. Even trackies feel uncomfortable. God knows how big I'll be soon. I'm eating for England lol (hungry 24/7). I can see me having to resort to huge maternity smocks soon or a moo moo (Homer simspson style)

HellKat · 08/02/2006 13:59

P.s 8+6 (9 wks tomorrow yay!!!)

Bella23 · 08/02/2006 14:08

Can I join you ladies?
I am 9 weeks on Friday.
I can sympathise with the eating like a pig. Am trying to be good and eat lots of veggies and fruit but all I am really craving is lots of junk and chocolate!!

Is everybody feeling sick? I don't really, slightly off centre but not nausea.

Hello Everybody

HellKat · 08/02/2006 14:12

HellKat · 09/02/2006 09:18

That's a great sign hun. That's what's keeping me positive, last time I stopped feeling pg.
My boobs were'nt big to start with (34b) but are hanging out of my 36 d maternity bra Lol I'll be giving Jordan a run for her money .
What time's your scan on Monday?

kreamkrackers · 09/02/2006 09:22

9am i'm not used to going out by that time, i always make dd's appointments at the hospital for 10.30. dp is trying to get that day off work as well so that'll be better for me. what time will you be having your scan tommorow?

Bella23 · 09/02/2006 09:38

Morning all ladies.

Good luck with the scans, am sure all will be great.

Well am busy trying to force all bran down my neck which is making me want to gag but it?s the only way to keep things moving if you know what I mean (sorry if TMI)

kreamkrackers · 09/02/2006 09:51

liquorice, more fruits and veg(except bananas and especially prune juice), other high fibre foods(such as weetabix, shreadded wheat, whole grain rice and pastas) and lots more water. also you can have lactulose but it smells very sickly (dd is on 15mls twice a day and she's 20months). hope it shifts itself soon. i seem to erm go a bit of the opposite way around when preggers! (not loose just slides out easily about 4 times a day!) don't know why but i do drink an awful lot of water as i'm always thirsty. i never told mw it was the like that though just told her i wasn't constipated as very embarassed

Bella23 · 09/02/2006 09:53

Jealous of your 4 times a day!!
That used to be me pre preggars so all this is a bit of a shock.
Yep need to up my water drinking.

mabel1973 · 09/02/2006 10:37
