JjingleBeanplusPudalltheway · 23/11/2011 20:40

Sounds amazing florin.

We had 4d scans when I was pregnant with dd and they had a huge tv for us to watch her on, the dvd still makes me teary.

ceeej · 23/11/2011 20:43

Congratulations on the scans Dalrymps and Florin, you must have been so excited. My scan is next Friday which should be 12 weeks exactly.

I managed to attend a wine tasting last night without letting on to the friend we went with that I was pregnant! Really didn't want to miss it as it was an opportunity that wasn't going to come up particularly often (vertical tasting of 10 Chateau Haut-Brion vintages) so I just had one sip of each and my husband finished up the good ones. I was expecting to have to share the news but everyone was so deep in discussing the wine that no one seemed to notice. I actually think it helped me judge the later ones a bit better and I really wasn't that bothered about not getting to drink more.

Florin · 23/11/2011 22:43

ceeej wine tasting sound really good. Glad you managed to still enjoy it
jj since having this scan makes us really want a 4d scan. When did you have it done? sonographer suggested around 28 weeks

JjingleBeanplusPudalltheway · 23/11/2011 23:09

florin I was around 28wks can't remember exactly as she's three now but ill find the pics tomorrow as they're dated. I found out after that the times best to go depend of your placentas positioning, I can't remember exact details but it makes a big difference. The weird thing is I have a large print framed and its so obviously dd, especially when she was under 1, its almost eerie. We got a pretty good package, large print, 3 small, 2 keyrings and dvd with 20min scan was £120. I really hope we can do it again, but since its no.3 the usual carseat trip to kiddicare might mean us leaving needing a whole new car!

Rrrrayray · 24/11/2011 10:55

We'll need a new thread before long

All the best those having scans today! Good luck!

Sickness still reigns supreme here! Sad

Kveta · 24/11/2011 11:13

Rrrrayray sickness still here too :(

next thread should be 'not so much glowing as throwing. up' or something along those lines... stupid morning sickness. :(

very Envy at wine tasting ceej! I'm off to London for the MN meetup on saturday and will be standing in the corner going Envy at all the pissed up ladies, then going :o the following morning when they are all Envy (that's hungover, not jealous green :o)

sillywmama · 24/11/2011 11:58

still feeling vomity here too :( gah. Make it stop, please!!

bleurgh

Dalrymps · 24/11/2011 12:10

Meant to say, glad the scan went so well Florin Grin

Still sickly here tooSad bleurgh

Rrrrayray · 24/11/2011 13:44

Poor us! Sad still confuses me how some can have sickness and some not. I also can't get my head round how the most natural thing causes us to be so Envy (sick not envious!) needless to say I'll be glad when it passes.

Feel like my uterus is popping out of pelvis today. The beginnings of a little round tummy. All strange to me as had nothing until at least 18 plus weeks last time round! Hmm

JjingleBeanplusPudalltheway · 24/11/2011 15:33

Sickness had relaxed for me but today its been rearing its ugly head Envy

Warlin · 24/11/2011 16:05

Afternoon ladies!

darylumps and florin great news on the scan. When I had my first work at 8 weeks we could hear heartbeat but it was just a bean...dying to see arms and legs and real we baby!

ceej I am the same as you, 12 weeks next Friday and got scan then too. Finegrs crossed we will see arms and legs flapping too....

I nearly told work today....had a meeting with boss and still on probationary. She said she was really happy with how things are going and asked how I elt about the job and challenges for next year.....! Arggghhh.....would have been a perfect opp but still a bit early. Really dreading that!! :(

I am still exhausted today...is it just me or does pregnancy drag in??? All this counting down weeks make the time go really slowly! Seems months since I found out!

Hi to all that I haven't mentioned x

Warlin · 24/11/2011 16:09

Florin I am having a 4D scan at 24 weeks...not sure if it makes a difference when....prob the later the better. Consultant said if we couldn't see much he would arrange another a couple of weeks later.

jj is it easy to tell the sex from it? We would rather not know but I've seen the detail the 4D scan shows and it may be hard not to see????

Warlin · 24/11/2011 16:10

Sorry last comment I promise..!

Is it too early to buy name books??? I am dying to but scared to tempt fate! Has anyone else bought any or looked into names?

greengoose · 24/11/2011 16:33

Hello everyone, sorry I've been absent for ages, my DSs have just about stopped throwing up, but are still off school, and DH only got back last night.... So it's been a bit hectic! (He did get me a new iPad to replace my dead MacBook though, so I've forgiven him for not being here to help with all the smelly mess)!
I'm 12weeks today, and have my scan tomorrow so I'm very nervous about everything. We are going to tell DSs when we find out if all is ok, so fingers crossed!
Ill spend some time catching up properly when the kids are in bed tonight, but hope everyone is all right! I'm not blooming yet, if anything feeling more sick than ever, but that might be due to the lingering stench of vomit.... I think I might have to get cleaners in to sort out the couch and the carpet, nothing I do is shifting it......aaaagh!

ecstatica · 24/11/2011 16:37

Lovely scan news!!!!!! :) :) Congratulations xx and great to read there are lots of scan dates coming up.

Just popping in to say hello. Have picked DC up from classes and just want to dive into bed but it's still only 4.30pm....and i have to cook (bleugh).

Love to all x

Dalrymps · 24/11/2011 16:39

Oh man, I just did a strange hiccup/cough combo then promptly vomitedSad At least I was near the loo at the time.

Kayzr · 24/11/2011 16:57

Warlin we have already got our names picked for the baby.

Sorry for all the sickness. Mine isn't too bad now, just feeling sick instead of being sick.

Dalrymps · 24/11/2011 17:14

We have a list of possible names for boys and girls but haven't decided on favourites yet.

Kveta · 24/11/2011 17:26

we are struggling a lot with names, but we have a list of names that are permitted in DH's country, so need to pick from that. at the moment everything I suggest is met with a Hmm look from DH, and he has made one suggestion for a girl's name we both quite like.

JjingleBeanplusPudalltheway · 24/11/2011 17:26

warlin my delightful child was impossible to sex at the 4d scan and at --13 something or over scans-- the 21wk hospital one Envy and we desperatly wanted to know as ds was 6mnths when we found out so we had tons of clothes about.

You can request they totally avoid that area but they do say if baby suddenly flips or something there's not much they can do, I know a lot of people who have been and not wanted to know and kept the suprise, but its kinda down to the baby!

I'd recomend it, especially for the dads as its quite hard for them to bond in the way we do. We were allowed upto 6 people with us too not that we did, it was amazing. Really amazing!

JjingleBeanplusPudalltheway · 24/11/2011 17:27

We settled on a girls name, and I have a few boys I'm toying with :)

Kveta · 24/11/2011 17:31

toying with a few boys jj?! sounds fun :o

JjingleBeanplusPudalltheway · 24/11/2011 17:34

Haha kveta if only, sitting up from leaning back on the couch makes me nauseaus I couldn't bare anything more rigorous hehe

Miniangel · 24/11/2011 17:42

Hello Everyone

Florin and Dalrymps Congrats on the scans. Such good news. I have mine next Tuesday and can't wait to see the baby properly with hands, feet etc.

Warlin I agree with you, the pg is dragging. I feel like I have known foreever too.

Good for the scan tomorrow Greengoose

Had my combined blood test yesterday.

I had a scary day today as got a sharp and horrible pain on my right side. I have a cyst on my rt ovary so was quite concerned. Long story short went to the A&E and had a scan, they could see the baby and it's heartbeat but couldn't make out the ovaries at all because of gas and bladder filling up which I couldn't empty. The pain has subsided after hours of being there so we came home with an appt for Monday. I was praying away and those few moments in a&E were very scary thinking all sorts of rubbish. Thank God my mum was with me the whole time. Bless her.

Sickness has been better since I have started eating every hour and taking sickness tabs every 4 hours but have not had a vomit free day so far. Can't complain really as the number has gone from 15-17 times to 1-2 times a day. My pg is turning out to be particularly hard but I really want this baby and it'll be all worth it. Bring on the glowing instead of the the throwing. Wink
