placenta development might help?

greengoose · 04/10/2011 17:58

Hi everyone, Well I missed the last couple of days (work work work), and its got busy all of a sudden!! My POAS obsession continues... I have been watching the line get darker on daily cheap ebay ones, and today I did my second CB Digi and its now 2-3weeks!! Im really chuffed, as it at least indicates things are still going for now, even if it cant promise they will go all the way.
Are all mums who have MC'd as paranoid as me? I couldnt say I am enjoying it, or even really able to say I feel 'properly pregnant' I think that will only happen after a good scan this time..... oh well, roll on 12 weeks I guess!
starlight thanks for info on how babys are doing... very stange to think of a little heart starting to beat!
welcome to all newbees.. my mama and dogwalker, I know what you mean about being tired! I had forgotten that out-of-it feeling, so difficult to do any work!
Kveta well done on still BFing, are you planning on tandem feeding when new baby is here? Sounds hard work, but I know people who have managed it.
ladygrace, sounds like you might also be developing a POAS addiction!! (they are good and cheap on ebay)!!
My partner is running me a lovely bath and cooking tea.... bless. An early night after that me thinks!

Well I sneaked away from work at 4pm, came home and surprised my DS by being home early. He's only 13 months and at that 'in to everything' stage, nothing is safe if at his level.

Well I'm off to bed soon, soooo tired. Take care all xx

greengoose · 04/10/2011 20:44

This tiredness thing does get better doesnt it? Im not sure how Im going to keep juggling two kids and the rest of life if I dont wake up a bit!! not that Im complaining if this one turns out to be a keeper.....
I seem to have lost my short term memory as well (forgot parents evening=bad mother=smug nine year old)!
I dont feel sick yet (so, of course, I am worried that I should). Has anyone actually been sick yet? I cant remember when all that starts? I am finding it difficult to sleep and waking up early, and Im peeing a lot, but thats not really such a new thing (blush).

MyMamaToldMe · 04/10/2011 21:24

Oh my goodness my memory! Really needs to get better soon! I always wondered what people were on about when they talked about 'baby brain' - well now I know! I really need to try and focus more but everyday I seem to forget something - the other day it was my keys in the front door! Today I Forgot to do something at work - thank goodness my husband and my boss are understanding! Blush

girlofice · 04/10/2011 21:40

Yep, I can relate to memory loss, don't think it's returned since being preg with DS1! Always forgetting what I got up to do, and where I have put things. I have told DH that if he wants me to do anything/ buy anything, then he needs to write it down, or I will forget it. :)

Well I gave in and did another test this evening, and it was still positive, it was just a tescos one, but reassuring all the same, as still no other symptoms. Although thinking back, I didn't really have sore boobs with DS2, but I think the morning allday sickness kicked in at about 6 weeks and lasted til about 20 wks.

I'm permanently tired too, but I can't seem to go to bed early. But that is all going to have to change in the next couple of weeks. I'm still on maternity leave with DS2, go back 2 weeks today, and boy is it going to hit me doing 4 days in work, looking after 2 kids and being pregnant!

starlight thanks for all the info on the development, you do know alot

Dalrymps · 04/10/2011 23:56

I also have a POAS addiction. Had loads of I ebay cheapies to use up anywayGrin

Have basically tested every day since I got my BFP as it was very faint and I had to reassure myself the line was getting darker. I am now quite reassured but am going to do one more test tomorrow Grin

Dalrymps · 05/10/2011 08:39

Ok so I PO my last S this morning. The test line is now almost as dark as the control line so I'm happySmile

Anyone work in a job with a lot of lifting? I work in a nursing home in the evenings putting the residents to bed. I read on the Nhs website that if your job involves a lot of lifting thy should try and fond something else for you to do or suspend you on full pay. I don't know how they're going to change my job so I do something else as my whole shift is based on helping the residents in to bed (5-8). I told my boss and she just asked if I was happy to Carey on working but didn't mention anything about lifting or even changing my job Confused

I have some kind of trapped nerve/pulled muscle in my back and can't help wondering if it's do do with the lifting already as your ligaments etc soften due to the hormones and that makes you more prone to injury. Not sure what to do about my job, I get the impression they'd be happy for me to carry on as usual. I don't want there to be a risk to the baby thoughSad

Dalrymps · 05/10/2011 08:40

I meant to say *I told my boss I'm pregnant'

thedogwalker · 05/10/2011 08:59

Oh yeah Baby brain, I've never recovered from having DS1, I now have to write lists for everything or I don't remember. Hope it doesn't deteroraite anymore Hmm. Not sure about your work Dalrymps, My work have to do a risk assessment and we work out what I can and cannot do. This might be a give away for my job, but last time, I didn't particicapte in any arrests and I didn't attend scenes where there were any toxic substances. I am luckier now as I am the boss of my department so I am more desk bound, checking work etc. But you shoud ask that a minimum is a risk assesment be conducted to protect, you, your LO and the people you're looking after, wouldn't do to drop one would it Shock.
Hope everyone is well today x

Kveta · 05/10/2011 09:17

hey all.

Dalrymps - not sure lifting is such a big deal in the early months, but definitely in later part of pg!! my wee sis is a nurse and I think stopped work at 30 weeks (she has other issues too, but it was at least partly due to the physical effort of the job!), but other than that didn't do much different. My job is pretty sedentary, although this week I'm doing some teaching, so am on my feet a bit more. I had my 2nd night out since DS was born yesterday - the 1st was to a lecture at work last october, and last night was, um, a lecture at work. I have no life... :o

greengoose, I don't plan to tandem feed, but don't mind if I do. DS is down to 1 or 2 feeds a day, and DH wants to stop the feeds altogether - I'm doing the 'don't offer, don't refuse' approach, so doubt DS will actually stop any time soon!! he has never shown any sign of weaning he's like a milk-seeking missile first thing in the morning...

I did a clearblue pee stick this morning, and it came up 'pregnant' within seconds :o then took the full 3 minutes to say 2-3 weeks. boobs are still tender, and i'm a bit queasy sometimes. I was definitely worse with DS, but that may have been partly due to jet lag. I don't feel so tired this time, although I am tired - but DS started sleeping 8-5 last week, so we've had our 1st week of unbroken nights in 2 years!! DH and I feel like new people :o

Dalrymps · 05/10/2011 09:29

Hmm yeah, I suppose I'm just a bit surprised my work were like ' ok you're pregnant, carry on'Hmm. They mentioned nothing of a risk assessment which I would have thought was very important in my job. We have to actually lift some people between two of us from chair to wheelchair and wheelchair to bed. It's hard physical work. I wasn't working when I had ds2 but when I was pg with ds1 I worked in a call centre and basically was sat down all day, they still did a risk assessment anyway! Confused

Kveta · 05/10/2011 09:30

also, is anyone else inexplicably weepy? I am crying at fricking EVERYTHING. just saw the nursery at work doing their fire drill and seeing the babies in their fire escape cot thing made me choke up. Looks good mid-meeting...Hmm

Dalrymps · 05/10/2011 09:36

Lol Kveta I have been crying at virtually nothing! I just rang the maternity unit to have a chat with the midwife and they said she'd call me back soon. I thought that was really nice of her so started to well up Blush

MammaInTheMaking · 05/10/2011 10:14

Hi to mamainthemaking, good to have you join us!!
Kveta, I am like a tap with a leek right now, any time I disagree with DH (who has just started to work from home, so theres more potential for that than usual....) I seem to end up in tears, then he assumes Im just being 'pregnant', which is a little undermining! Oh well, it only gets worse once there is an actual baby! I remember having to walk out of shops where there was a Mum and a crying baby, as it all got to me too much when my boys were really little.
After saying I didnt feel sick yet yesterday, I do feel decidedly sick and a bit dizzy today. Lovely. I should watch what I wish for! (Its still enough of a novelty that Im kind of glad though, I didnt feel any of this before my last miscarriage, although the one before that I did as it was a MMC, so I guess it doesnt mean much either way)!
Hope all you ladies are having a good day. (I need to do the school walk soon, two miles each way, cant be bothered, but good for me)....

thedogwalker · 05/10/2011 13:36

Oh just noticed there are 4 first timers. How wonderful, it's so magical that first time Grin. Not that it isn't magical again, it's just all so new first time, obviously Hmm.

Hope everyone is keeping well and the dreaded sickness keeps at bay.
