warmandcosyhellokitty · 07/11/2011 10:26

hi ginger

how r u?

dh tk dd1 to his work firework do luved it was late so stayed in with dd2 we saw some out the window

GingerbreadLatte · 07/11/2011 11:57

Hi Tink
Im good thanks for asking :)

Fireworks sound good for DD1. We went to a local display which was fun. though the SG wasnt keen on loud bangs. Preferred the smaller low level ones.

How are you?

Diege · 07/11/2011 12:39

Hello! We also enjoyed the fireworks. Had them in the garden with a small bonfire, and some friends round too which was good.
Had a bit of a 'dip' yesterday and cried at anything nand everything. I always get like that about 7-10 days post-birth, but feel much better today so just hormones dropping I think.
dd2's birthday today - had her party weeks ag if you remember, and seems like she's having a second birthday! School day so just a party tea tonight.
Registered birth this morning and sadly neither 'Apollo' nor 'Bear' (which I was warming to Wink) made it onto the certificate. Registrar very approving of French spelling of Louis (as opposed to Louie I suppose?). The woman next to me in the ward had named her baby boy 'Breeze' Hmm and they'd not had her in yet - his face was a picture when I told him, and he said he'd have to ring up London about it Grin. He also told us a story about someone wanting 'Lucifer' for a middle name, and the trouble it caused. Eventually allowed on the basis it was a middle name only Hmm.
Off out for lunch now with ds2 and dh - parents over at last later on! Thanks for all your comments on their late visit! Just the way they are, so ok now with that.
Love to all xx

Moosy · 07/11/2011 13:27

Hello you lot, Diege you sound very active and out-and-about for someone only a week post birth! How are you (and your bladder)? Lucky DD2 getting 2 birthdays :)

Ginger, how many dpo are you now? Do you have a plan for testing day?

Fireworks were good here, we went to a friend's house and the girls loved it. Well #3 didn't but I wasn't surprised and the other loved it so it was ok all round. I made hard toffee like mum used to which they all loved so it was a nice night for me, just like my childhood :) It's the first time we've been to fireworks with children.

Everything feels a bit weird round here at the moment as the big car crash was right on the motorway junction of my local town. I drove past it on saturday on the way into town and it was eerie. Everyone was driving really slowly, it kind of felt wrong hurrying, a bit disrespectful somehow. It's all open again now but still feels odd. It's also a really cold misty day and I think there's a funeral in the village as the bells have been tolling all morning, there's a heavy sadness in the air.

GingerbreadLatte · 07/11/2011 14:04

Hello Moosy and Diege

Diege- glad to hear you are out and about! Thats pretty impressive. How is the bruising going ? Hope you didnt get stiches as well....

Moosy- I thought of you when I read the news about the crash. Its really terrible. Must be very odd driving nearby. All very sad.

I am 4 DPO I think.. I am really trying not to focus on it this time as it seems to make it go on for AGES!.... watch me eat my words in about 24hrs 3 days time. Grin If (big if) I've had no signs of AF by 16th Nov, I will test.

How are things with you moosy?

Kayzr · 07/11/2011 17:04

Moosy I was saying to DP that I would hate to have to drive past there in the days that followed. My FIL to be had to drive past Sunday and said it just felt strange.

MS has fully set in now. Instead of feeling sick I'm now being sick Sad usually 2-3 times a day. It's generally over and done with by 1pm but occasionally after too. Still not sleeping very well either.

GingerbreadLatte · 07/11/2011 18:02

Hi Kayz. Sorry for MS. How many wks are you now?

Kayzr · 07/11/2011 18:22

I'll be 8 on Wednesday. I went to the GP today who doesn't think I am being sick enought to need medicine. He said that symptoms tend to peak around 8 weeks and then calm down a bit.

warmandcosyhellokitty · 07/11/2011 18:54

Morning

Wondering if anyone has heard from Bumps? Are you lurking bumps

Fingers crossed for you

Moosy · 08/11/2011 10:00

Moring Ginger, she had an unsuccessful sweep last week (baby was too high) and is seeing the consultant tomorrow to sort out being induced and to talk about the issues raised at the last appointment. She's pretty worried about the whole thing :(

GingerbreadLatte · 08/11/2011 10:45

thanks Moosy
Poor Bumps, its been less than straight forward for her.

If you are in touch, please send her lots of support from her wagon friends x :)

StarsArentSpooky · 08/11/2011 11:45

Hi All

Diege sounds like you are settling in well to the arrival of DS2. Hope you and DH had a lovely lunch out - one of the perks of being a WOHM isn't it?! Glad your Parents have organised a visit - that must be tough, but sounds like your DH is very supportive and that is the most important thing. Love the photo of your DDs with DS2.

Moosy - was thinking of you this weekend. We were down your way to visit friends (our last chance before their much wanted and waited for bump makes an appearance), so they drove 20 mins out to meet us and bring us in over the hills. Feel so much for those families who lost loved ones and still have loved ones in hospital. Thanks for the update from Bumps - am thinking of her lots and hope the appointment today goes well.

Ginger - glad DD enjoyed the fireworks. Am on tenterhooks for you with 2ww, but you sound very relaxed about it, which is a very positive thing.

Ses - that 11 weeks seems to have gone by quickly to me, but am sure it hasn't for you. Glad you could get a scan date so quickly - takes several weeks here! Fingers crossed for that.

Tink - you are so organised with Christmas! As usual, I had great plans, but haven't managed much at all yet. DD having a nap in the buggy following soft play, so must get on Amazon!

Took DS and DD to the fireworks with friends on Sat. DS loved it. DD was asking to go home from pretty much as soon as we got there, but I kind of expected that.

2 more weeks in work now - is a weird feeling. Am a bit apprehensive about losing the income and wondering if I've done the right thing, while being pretty sure I have and am excited about some projects I have ideas for... think I shall have to temper my enthusiasm since I'll only have a chance to do things in the evenings, stil...! Didn't realise how much school demand of parents (I guess if you're working, you just go with the flow and do what you can, but am looking forward to getting involved with stuff Blush).

Right - on with stuff while DD sleeps. Shall keep an eye out for updates from Bumps.

warmandcosyhellokitty · 08/11/2011 13:59

hi star

good luck with amazon Grin

amazon is fab Grin

received rosebud hospital so cute Grin is for brackens day
also received kidiminz cat so sweet

ordered from amazon today a couple of books for dd2 and another kidiminz a dog for dd1

GingerbreadLatte · 09/11/2011 16:03

Star-
Nice to see you here Grin

The work countdown must feel very odd indeed. I hope that you are able to enjoy it and enjoy getting involved in parent things. I think it?s a fab thing to do Grin

Thanks for your support on 2ww. I think I?ve gone from state a semi unconscious assumption that it would happen first time (like with DD) to being more relaxed about how TTC really works and that it usually takes a few months at least. Plus I am 3.5 yrs older. That has really helped me relax about it.... still, it?s hard going not spotting every odd symptom and wondering if its significant. Today?s is eye twitching Hmm

Hope everyone else is ok !

x

warmandcosyhellokitty · 09/11/2011 16:35

ginger Wink at eye twitching

think we have scared everyone away havent we!! Hmm

hope u r ok bumps !!

SESthebrave · 09/11/2011 21:46

Hello! Thought I'd do a quick post before ehading off to bed....zzzzzz......

tink - I am highly unorganised for Christmas! All I have is DS's stocking bits but nothing else sorted!

Bumps - thinking of you and hoping your appointment went welll.

Ginger - good luck on 2ww. Feel free to come and offload as and when you need to. Sounds like your head is in the right place but hope you don't have to wait too long!

Star - yay for 2 weeks left at work! I can understand your apprehension but am sure (and hope) everything works out really well.

Kayz - my MS peaked around week 8/9 and has now almost completely gone. Hope you don't have to suffer too much longer.

Moosy - :( for all those affected by the crash.

Smithy - how are you doing?

Diege - hope your hormones have stopped dipping and you feel ok. Sounds like you are all adjusting to the new member of your family well - congratulations again!

Hello to anyone else Ive missed :)

OP posts:
Kayzr · 10/11/2011 06:54

Morning.

I hope everyone is well. Just wanted to pop in so I don't lose you from threads I'm on.

Still being sick a few times a day but other than that things are ok. DS2 has started sleeping until half 7 instead of 5 so I'm getting more sleep now.

I'll be back to catch up soon hopefully.

StarsArentSpooky · 10/11/2011 09:47

Morning... just a quick check in to see if news from Bumps. Thinking of you Bumps.
Kayz - glad you're getting more sleep. Hope the sickness passes soon.
Ses - not long to go until your scan now Smile
Tink - I'm totally unorganised for Christmas, but pinning my hopes on week after next for getting organised!

smithylovesme · 10/11/2011 10:20

Morning everyone.

Tink- i think i am organised :o bought loads of bits and pieces hidden all over our bedroom just need to get it all out and sort through it. I know the kids have more than enough stuff but i can't resist a bargain and they keep changing ther minds what they want. Got the main things they keep asking for from tesco direct with my points so spent 89p so pleased with that :) you sound very organised. HAve you sorted all families presents too?

Kayz- sorry for morning sickness, hope it eases up for you soon, there is light at the end of the tunnel i promised :O Glad you are getting more sleep though makes you feel better.

SES- how are you? When is your 12 week scan?

Diege- hope your hormones are behaving themselves more now and you are settlng into a rountine with the new addition.

Stars- Hope your last 2 weeks goes smoothly and you can enjoy all the plans you have once you are a SAHM.

Bumps- hope eveything is ok with you and your little one makes a safe arrival soon. Thinking of you.

Ginger- fingers crossed for you on the 2WW, please come and update us with any symptoms so we can obsess mull over them with you :O

I have been very up and down sickness wise, i seem a lot better in the mornings now and actually able to do things instead of lying on the sofa all day but peaks around mid afternoon, hopefully another week and i can dream of all the wonderful things i want to enjoy eating again. I had my scan date through yesterday its on Tuesday 22nd November at 5.30pm can't believe i will be 3 months in!
What does everyone think about Frankie being kicked off the X factor. I personally didn't rate him at all and glad he is gone, has been announced this morning they are bringing back one of the fout contestants who were voted off by judges in the very first live show. So who is coming back? Amelia? Two shoes? i can't rememeber the others :)

Rugbylovingmum · 10/11/2011 11:00

Morning all,

Smithy - glad to hear the ms is at least giving you a break in the mornings now but it's pants that you still feel ill in the afternoon. I have good days and bad days now but, like you, I'm hoping it will be gone for good in a couple of weeks .

Tink- you are so organised! I've started getting few bits but I still have loads to do. We aren't getting much for DD this year - I got her a balance bike in Toys r us yesterday (it was half price so only £25 and I had £20 of vouchers to use so a real bargain) and I've bought a jigsaw, snakes and ladders and a torch since she loves playing with my bike lights Grin. She is getting masses of stuff from my family - we have a huge family and they all insist on buying for her at xmas - so she won't be short of pressies to open! Now I just need to get buying for everyone else Shock.

Kayz- hurray for DS2 sleeping later! Hopefully the ms will ease up soon but you know it'll all be worth it.

SES- how are you? Do you have your next scan on Monday?

Diege- how are you (and your bladder) now?

Stars- wow, only 2 weeks to go, the time is flying. I have 5 weeks to go before my leave finishes and I'm already feeling a bit strange about being unemployed for the first time. I'm really excited about having more time with DD though and I definitely won't miss the stress of this job. I'm sure we are both going to love it!

Bumps- sorry you are having such a stressful time Sad. I hope you are either in labour or holding your LO and there are no further worries.

Ginger- fingers crossed for the 2ww, I love all the symptom spotting so keep us updated Grin

I have my dating scan next Thursday and I'm really looking forward to it. Even though I have been much more sick, tired and moody grumpy hormonal this time than with DD, I just don't feel pregnant. I don't know why but I just don't think I am going to believe it until the scan. I don't know if it's because it wasn't planned this time or because I've been too busy with work to really think about it or if it's because a couple of friends have had miscarriages recently so I don't trust the bfp but I actually think I might be surprised to see a baby on the scan Blush. Oh dear, these pregnancy hormones are clearly making me insane Blush.

warmandcosyhellokitty · 10/11/2011 11:03

hi kay - glad sickness abit better
glad getting more sleep Grin

hi stars Grin

hi smithy - no havent sorted families ones yet!!
it is pain finding places to keep pressies dont have much storage

hated 2 shoes

Diege · 10/11/2011 14:18

Hello! Just a quickie as health visitor due at 2.30, so need to get my microwave heating of ds's bottle done before she gets here Blush. Can't be worse than mw though, and quite lookign forward to it...
Hoping BUMPS is ok - 41 weeks tomorrow??? Hoping all is bearable if you are lurking xxx
TINKS, you need to go to IKEA and get some storage solutions Grin I've nearly got everything for dd2's birthday and will only THEN start thinking about xmas Grin
STAR, I have a feeling things will turn out very well for you, though can understand how these next few weeks will feel quite strange.
SMITHY, yes all good thanks - ds seems to be quite a GF baby, but I know from experience how it can all change, so am making the most of relatively easy days and nights. Next week when dh is back at work things may be different!
SES, can't beleive you're almost throguhn the first trimester!
KAYZ, boo about sickness not being 'bad' enough for meds, though I suppose that's good? Fwiw I think being sick 2/3 times a day warrants meds!
Better go, car just pulled up...eeek!
